This is.. adoption of an entire TECHNOLOGY, eg blockchain.. not the pumping of the price value of a single coin/stock. Going back to your chart, how much was the first telephone/etc stock worth at the end of the chart?

Telephones were not used as a currency.
1322  Economy / Speculation / Re: best strategy right now : buy & hold + buy more VS buy & sell on: March 18, 2018, 09:05:44 PM
This is difficult to assess.

The two times I shorted it for fiat (small fractions, actually) I got squeezed. In the second time I even said it was a offering to appease Karhu. We cant know for sure that sell and buy back at a lower price is a good strategy, at least for me it didnt work.

Better is to buy with spare money, and holding what you already have, even if you are bleeding. Because we all know for sure that, long term, bitcoin will rise to 100k and beyond.

Bitcoin currently is less than 1% of global GDP, so the potential for growth is enormous, and even if you lose for some weeks or months, you know that this is temporary, due to the fundamentals. That's why so many bears burn in this market.

The best strategy, then, is to buy and hold, and buy more when its down.

Quote
less than 1% of global gross domestic product

See? The potential for growth is huge.

I don't know what you're looking at, but it looks to me like he absolutely fucking nailed it:

1325  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is Bitcoin? Nothing! on: March 18, 2018, 06:24:38 PM
You are a impostor, OP.

The real kwukduck would have spiked the price up with his predictions.
1326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's bottum price? on: March 18, 2018, 06:20:24 PM
well, maybe.
but the more i hear $2000 the less i believe it can happen because every single time without exception, that people fixate on a dumb low price, that price never happens at all. as in we will never ever go near it.

But that's the idea.

We have to force $2000 so that we might be prepared psychologically for it. This preparation will fortify the hodling, so that the price never comes to reality, as more and more people will be hodling instead of selling.

1327  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 18, 2018, 05:25:51 PM
I smell capitulation in the air.

I guess that we can agree that 2k will be the absolute bottom.

However, it is still not safe to short it, as there is this G20 summit which can end with some Giancarlo equivalent doing a nice speech for bitcoin, which will bring a new bullish signal, and this time it can come from the banksters themselves. Both CBOE and CME are going long.

This trend can reverse at any minute. So, if it is to buy, better to do it with spare money, than from shorting your current position.

1328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 18, 2018, 05:09:22 PM
This is how ... Rough figures only.  All fits together if you consider my other prognosis : Not all alts are doomed (just most of them , numerically). Some will be in for very big rises : their market cap share will rise relative to BTC.

Very roughly :  BTC at ~2k = 40BN, Best 20 alts at $60BN total, gives a bottom of ~100BN.

How much time do you think we will be at 2k, considering the fundamentals and the increasing adoption by big investors?

1330  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: March 18, 2018, 04:06:53 PM
Bitcoin can be perfectly successful as a "niche currency". Personally, I don't think it will ever get more than 10% of the world population as users, and that would be a huge success. I personally would like it to be valued at $10K or more and used by tens or hundreds of millions. But it would work perfectly if it is used only for certain purposes like remittances and e-commerce and valued at $100 USD.

Actually 10k is a niche price, as there is only 0.5% of the world population holding and trading it.

The price for a massive adoption, where it would be a success (in the way you put it), would be at least 100k.
1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's bottum price? on: March 18, 2018, 03:45:21 PM
Well, $1500, if I'm not mistaken, was the price around May last year.

Maybe we reach $1500 around May in this year too. But I doubt it will stay there for long.

In this case I might be tempted to buy. It's way below the last time I bought, but the fundamentals are much more stronger now than they were in 2017.

Big money might go in at any moment, and that's why I'm not selling. The futures markets are now going long, and there's this G20 summit which can end up like the US senate hearings, which will give a bullish signal. Also, it was confirmed the Mt.Gox trustee was not dumping those coins.

There's too much at stake to sell it. You can be squeezed at any moment.

People are not paying attention to the fundamentals. They only look at charts and think about the price.

1332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's bottum price? on: March 18, 2018, 03:31:22 PM
The bottom would be the mining cost. But since we are already under it, we can say that there is no bottom.

This whole thread smells like government agents spreading fear for no reason.

It's not only this thread.

There are a lot of government and banking shills in this forum. Make no mistake, they are paid to spread FUD.

And most people are biting it. That's why we are going to 2k.

When this bear market is over, there will be only two types of users: we the hodlers, and they, the banksters. The average Joe will be out of it.

1337  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 18, 2018, 02:44:05 PM
Who still have doubts that we are in a bear market?

1338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin miners are now losing money on: March 18, 2018, 02:39:58 PM
Miners have thousands of coins in reserve, they can dump it to cover expenses.

They can also use the excess fiat acquired through these sells, to buy at a higher price and pump the market.

Maybe they are already doing that. Unconfirmed transactions are around 6k. Compare it with the 200k in December.

1339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 18, 2018, 02:16:31 PM

This one you posted is not going to the end of 2020 (as McAfee said) but to July 17th 2020.

This one here: https://fnordprefekt.de/ go to the end of 2020.

1340  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market needs time on: March 18, 2018, 02:46:58 AM
This site shows a curve going to 1 million by the end of 2020:

https://fnordprefekt.de/

It shows the price around $29k for the end of 2018.
