401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 23, 2024, 09:48:21 PM
Loma cannot be too complacent about not getting a knockout win in Kambosos' country. Just to ensure a victory, he needs to KO him; otherwise, he might be surprised that he is very confident in the ring, thinking he'll win comfortably, but the judges saw it differently. Grin

People will never forget what they did to Pacman, and I hope it will not happen to Loma here since Kambosos has a similar style to Horn, who just loves to attack and throw a lot of punches. If judges count that and he survives the 12 rounds, unexpected things could happen. I'm pretty sure Loma's camp is well aware of that, so it's expected that their game plan is always ready to secure a clear victory.

Now, if I could ask, what would be next for Kambosos if he loses this fight? Would he rather retire or continue fighting against non-top boxers?

To be fair, there's not one high profile robbery fight in years in Australia after the Horn vs Pacquiao fight. Maybe they know that it did bring bad stigma to them. So now they are very careful of the fights being held that involved Australian. They still have Tim Tszyu as a champion and he had fights in Australia that hasn't been home cook, although it's either a stoppage win for Tim or a knockout victory.

But I will do agree that Loma shouldn't be self-assured here, in the Haney fight for me might have slow down in the championship rounds that's why Haney was able to steal the win in that fight. So he shouldn't do it here, he needs to show he has still the killer instinct to finished and knock his opponent out.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] David Benavidez vs. Olexandr Gvozdyk interim WBC Championship on: February 23, 2024, 08:47:36 PM
Earlier today, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that David Benavidez will be facing former light heavyweight champion Olexandr “The Nail” Gvozdyk for the interim championship. Artur Beterbiev is still the real WBC champion and currently active. It seems like they are only creating this belt for Benavidez as a way to save face for not being able to enforce his mandatory status against Canelo, who is very obviously avoiding Benavidez.

Gvozdyk is a fighter with an excellent record. His only loss has come against Artur Beterbiev. After the loss, he took a 3 year break from the sport and came back last year. He is now 36 years old and his comeback fights were against mediocre competition. I think these factors will make Benavidez the favorite in this fight.

https://twitter.com/wbcmoro/status/1760770531215691983

Good, I mentioned it here first. This is a good decision by the camp of Benavidez. And it clearly shows that Canelo is ducking Benavidez and his next fight will be against Charlo based on this development. Not sure why Canelo doesn't want to give Benavidez a fight but it's obvious he might be thinking that David can beat him.

Age is going to be a big factor for Gvozdyk. Benavidez is young and hungry and I wouldn't be surprised if David is going to knock out Olexandr. This fight will be in June and if everything works out for Benavidez, he will be fighting the winner of then Bivol vs Beterbiev. So big fights lining up till the end of the year for us.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 23, 2024, 12:38:25 PM
What's everyone call on Benavidez going up in the Light Heavy Weight division because he can't get a fight with Canelo. It was reported that he will be facing Oleksandr Gvozdyk in June for the WBC ‘interim’ belt and WBC mandatory position.

And it means that the winner of this fight will likely face Benavidez, assuming he wins against Gvozdyk.

This could also fuel and motivate both Beterbiev and Bivol as it will also be a big money fight to go against Benavidez. Of course the real winner here is us, boxing fans. So it's very exciting to see if this is going to happen or things might come up.

I wonder how the rising David Benavidez would end up fighting Olexandr Gvozdyk. Well, if this is the only way for him to face either Bivol or Beterbiev, and if Canelo is this fearful of him, then so be it. But it seems the fight is too lop-sided.

Oleksandr Gvozdyk is rated as high as 2nd in the 175 lbs. So it's going to be a big test for Benavidez if the news is true that he is moving up in the Light Heavyweight. Maybe he knows that he is not going to get the Canelo sweepstakes and so he had to make the adjustments.

I'm not taking anything from Gvozdyk but I doubt he is his old self. Yeah, he probably had shaken off much of his ring rust after more than 3 years of inactivity since he also had 3 fights last year alone, but he wasn't really facing top caliber fighters. Obando even had more defeats than wins. And, in boxing, age matters.

Anyway, this is just the alternative in case Canelo doesn't stop running from Benavidez despite a juicy offer. But possibilities are still open. In the meantime, I think the technicality of Bivol will keep him safe from Beterbiev's power and he will survive and win by UD.

Gvozdyk could be the next in line and could face the winner here. But with Benavidez entering the picture, it's good that this is going to be some sort of elimination fight between the two and winner getting the champion and for all the belts in the line.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 23, 2024, 12:17:22 PM
Right, everything is set now.

And good luck to those who bet already for Jerwin, all we have to do is wait for the next tomorrow night. Just remember though that this is not like in the US wherein the fight is held during weekends.

So for boxing fans around the world, just check the time zone in Japan so that we can watch it live. And as usual, we will have our friendly facebook and see who will share this fight for us that didn't buy the PPV.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 22, 2024, 10:52:44 PM
^^ What if Canelo wants Charlo for the same $35 million? Will PBC give in to his demand or would push for a Munguia fight. And obviously $35 million guaranteed is big money, but perhaps Canelo is not satisfied and still ask for more money.

And it just shows that Canelo is calling the shot, PBC could have go to let Canelo be paid by that huge amount and fight Jaime Munguia. No second options for him. That money is already huge, what more can Canelo ask for? And it's a fight that he will be likely the favorite, so it's a win-win for him.

As for Munguia, he could be getting his biggest paycheck and so I think they will sign the contract right away if there will be an offer from Canelo and PBC. However, isn't it too late? We just have 1 week before the start of March, and usually this boxers need 8-12 weeks for training and promotion. So the everything is still on the side of Canelo here, May 5 or at least along that week he usually fights as it is a Mexican day and so he needs to make the decision ASAP.

Time is running out, but I do believed that Canelo is already back in the game around February and could have been doing like training in the mitts to keep himself in shape and not just go and start training once they sign the contract as to who he is going to fight next.

407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: February 22, 2024, 09:58:30 PM
And we have a venue, I also thought that this will be in Las Vegas, but it's not, the fight is going to take place in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Quote
However, on Wednesday night, Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy promotions - who represent Garcia and so are staging the fight - announced that the Haney clash will instead take place in New York.

The 19,000 capacity Barclays Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets, will host the event.

https://talksport.com/sport/1760503/surprise-venue-devin-haney-ryan-garcia-gervonta-davis-deleted/

Still a good venue and the sitting capacity is big and I wouldn't be surprised if this fight is sold out already and then the PPV numbers as well. Are we going to see a million PPV buys here? or least get close to the Tank Davis vs Ryan Garcia with 1.1-1.2 million buys and if I'm not mistaken, the biggest fight last year, even bigger than Canelo fight or Crawford vs Spence.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: February 21, 2024, 11:34:55 PM
^^ Just typical for a promoter to say this kind of statement and it's either will backfire on them as Francis or someone from his camp reads it, might motivate them to knock Joshua out. Or AJ is really in good shape for this fight and will show it here.

We are entering the last week of February, and we all know that how time flies.

Francis Ngannou is still 4:1 underdog.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 21, 2024, 11:05:21 PM

I advise everyone to see this video, I'm not related to this person, but I can relate to his stories and the gambling addiction that most of us could have been suffering for years. This is the second video that I have been watching and they say the same things. Not just money they lose, but time and relationship. The other video that I saw that he was not even present with the delivery of his first and second kid, he was done gambling and trying to make money for the hospital bills but it turns out that he losses in both time.

Perhaps you have seen other videos as well and maybe share it here.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: February 21, 2024, 10:45:01 PM
It looks like this fight might likely to happen in the future,
(...)
https://www.boxingscene.com/mayweather-hints-pacquiao-exhibition--181595
(...)

Thanks for the link. So maybe it's not enough to call it "official" yet, but since Pacquiao and RIZIN's Chief Exec have confirmed it, and since Mayweather is not denying it, it's fair to assume the fight is at least pre-agreed and probably in a stage of contract negotiations. Or maybe the contract is already signed but they're just waiting to officially announce it closer to the date so the hype doesn't die out before the fight.
Both are willing to fight so it's only down to agreeing on the money.

And I think RIZIN has so much influence on this two boxers that maybe we can say that 90% this fight could be done in the future. Mayweather will still be the A-side here, 60-40 split is not that bad for Pacquiao.

This is where I have great disdain for the boxing world.  No longer are we in the "golden era" for boxing where we had all these great heavyweights like Tyson, Lewis, etc, but you had some solid mid to light weight fighters as well.  Then of course boxing fell off a cliff for quite some time.  Pac vs Mayweather should have happened the first time long ago when the sport needed it.  I absolutely despite Mayweather as he legitimately a horrible human being.  Even though its a day late and a dollar short I'll be watching and rooting for Pacman to destroy Mayweather. Maybe if he hits him hard enough he'll be able to read all of a sudden.

I definitely agree, but we can't compare era's. Same with other sports as well, in NBA we love Michael Jordan, but now it's totally different ball game. I've read that majority didn't like what they see in the All Star. Going back to this topic, it will be good if the fight is happening at the end of the year. It will be huge for boxing fans even if this is just a exhibition match. Enough for us to see again Mayweather and Pacquiao promoting this fight and the hype on it.
411  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 21, 2024, 10:01:02 PM
I had a friend who use to play the gambling only when he consumed drugs,Sometimes he use yo win the money. But most of the time he loss the funds, when we have a chat on the weekend we shared our experiences. The reason of the loss in the drug consumption is the gambler will play the game without any hesitation to take risk. The gambling is the risky game, the gamblers who take huge risk some times make the huge multiple of betting dollars. But the risk doesn’t make him win, because the meaning of the risk is the possibility of losing and winning.Every month we meet each other, the odds between us is gambling.

I think that is the basic of gambling, we take risk and we predicted the outcome or result and see if it is to our advantage. So your friend can either win or lose. However, when he consumed drugs and gamble, he might do YOLO and play with bigger risk.

My friend also added when he had huge winning in the night games without drugs,he had an habit of playing the gambling at the earning morning after wake up.It doesn’t mean an addiction,it was his dedication towards the game. But the sad part is he will loss sometimes if he wake up in the few hours sleep. When he had shared this I had advice him not to do the gambling in both in drugs or early morning games.Because we should not play the game at the early morning, because we are beginning the day.If the game give the loss in the early morning, the entire day will goes in a negative vibe. The new gamblers should take it as the lesson to avoid loss in gambling.

And that is the thing, maybe for some of us, when we win, we just simply stop. But for friend for sure will buy more drugs with the money that he had won. So there is no winning, unfortunately. Maybe it's applicable to your friend as per your advise not to play in the morning. But there are certain cases that some of us are playing in the early morning just like in my case. Anyhow, good luck to your friend and hope that he will realized that was his doing and stop taking drugs.
412  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't it all about money? on: February 21, 2024, 09:27:54 PM
What's the essence of all the hustle and bustle and learning and reading and keeping all the sleepless night? Isn't it all about money?

What if I don't want to go through all these process, don't care if I'm a graduate or not or if I'm good at speaking good English or not buth I'm just focused on how to make the money and end up making the money, won't the end justify the means?

I sometimes feel that some of these ideal process that has been accepted by the majority of the people in the society as a part to be taken to greatness is too complex. I mean, we can just learn how to read and write and focus on how to make money. Those who want to become engineers can choose to do so but those that don't want to pass through those route shouldn't be seen as less of a person because at the end of the day, it's mostly all about money.

But not all can make a lot of money if you are not a graduate or at least have a decent education? Those who succeeded are the 1% of the society.

I do agree though that in this lifetime, we need money, we need it to survived, not just for ourselves, but for our families as well. So it's not that complex, it's just a matter on how you are going to make money. Find a good job after graduation? You inherit riches from your parents? you are that 1% of the society and become successful? Life is unfair, but you have to make the most out of it.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 20, 2024, 11:21:34 PM
Regardless, I am curious what's next to the winner. When the coward Tank Davis was given a free belt, I doubt there will be another undisputed champion in this division soon. Shakur is the best fighter in this division but because of his boring and unmarketable style, the other champions will have more reasons to just duck him.

It's in house money for Top Rank, I think Shakur is going to fight the winner of this fight. Tank will be well protected and I don't think they are ready to let him face either Loma or Shakur this year.

That would be nice to see Loma ( a possible winner ) vs Shakur fight. it's the technical fighter vs a slippery fighter. It's not new to Loma since he had already fought Haney which I believe have a similar style like Shakur but Shakur is much shorter than Haney, so probably that will give Loma an advantage to that. We don't have to worry about the possible revenue of this fight since alhough Shakur is boring, but Loma will make it interesting.

Yes sir, this is what we fans wanted, let's assumed that Loma win against George, then Shakur will be a great fight to see next. I think Shakur also wanted to test his skills against Loma and so most likely he will be very interested. And as said previously, Top Rank has a lot of good fighters in the 135 lbs and they can just fight each other and the winner will be Bob Arum.

Shakur though says that he is retired, but I don't think that is real. Maybe he is just waiting for good fighters to come, but one opinion against Shakur is that he is boring, just like in his last fight wherein he just avoided Edwin delos Santos.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 20, 2024, 10:54:00 PM
Guys, we can now see a wide market for this particular fight.
Check it out here: https://duelbits.com/sportsbook/boxing/match/46299231-Inoue-Takuma-vs-Ancajas-Jerwin

And these are my bets:

Ancajas by KO at 7.20

Draw at 15

Ancajas 1-3 rounds at x36

Ancajas 4-6 rounds at x23

Very nice, you give me some idea on where to place my bets here as I want Ancajas to win or shall I say I think he can beat Takuma Inoue here. I think the round range 4-6 might be suited for Ancajas. I mean he has power in both hands, so if he can manage to touch Inoue in rounds 1-3, then he might be soften in the next coming rounds and could be taken out by 4-6.

Or if we go by KO, which is still a great pick, regardless of what rounds he got that, it's considered a upset and a huge win for those who support Jerwin to become a world champion. Just 3 days before the fight, it's more of a mental game from now.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 20, 2024, 10:28:44 PM
Anyone seen the shift here?

Bivol is now the slight favorite 1.84 against 1.90 for Beterbiev, last time I check it was all even at 1.89. Maybe there's some huge bettor and put a big money on Bivol causing this swing. But still not as big as backer of Beterbiev can do the same and so it will go back to 50/50.

For the supposedly failed drug test of Beterbiev, it's inconclusive, VADA result shows "atypical" findings of of HGH and testosterone.

416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 20, 2024, 10:02:50 PM
Assuming Canelo needs something else for his legacy, I reckon he battles the winner of Beterbiev versus Bivol. That will bring him prestige particularly assuming he wins and becomes undisputed in two weight classes like Crawford and Inoue.

That's the best thing for him to do to gain more popularity, but that means climbing up again in weight, which he failed against Bivol. If Beterbiev wins here via KO, that means he is too much for Bivol, and I don't know if it's wise for Canelo to challenge the boxer that defeated the boxer who defeated him.

Canelo has never been KO'd in his career as a boxer, and maybe that will be the time that he'll suffer his worst defeat at the hands of Beterbiev, who is a 100% KO artist. I'm not sure he is up for that challenge as his legacy is also at stake big time.

He can still chase for greatness still by fighting Benavidez or going after a rematch with Bivol to avenge his defeat. But so far none of that has happened, he chooses to fight the twins. Years ago he had plans to even moved to CW and fight the WBC champion for a catchweight?

What happen to that plan? Now, he is fighting at 154 lbs and 160 lbs boxers? He used to go up in weight and challenges those champions. But it seems right now it's the other way around for Canelo, asking boxers if they want to fight him to go up to his SMW. But doesn't want to fight the likes of Benavidez or even Munguia because he thinks they didn't deserved the fight or they are "Mexicans".
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling friendly countries on: February 19, 2024, 11:37:33 PM
Why did you ask this question? I do not think anyone will want to relocate because of gambling to be tax free.

I do some findings about it and I saw this online https://www.vegasmaster.com/gambling-tax-free-countries

It might not be very accurate but when I check another site, I saw some countries that I saw on this site there.

I noticed that the countries that are in the article are from first-world countries, they do not rely on taxes for the health of their economy so they prefer that the reward is zero tax so the winner can enjoy the whole prize and it encourages to support the lottery, here in our country the winner's tax is 20%, the government is the one running the lottery, they get the profit, and they also get the tax, the lottery is our government's cash cow which is why there's a lot of corruption in our lotter.

You're right, most of them are from the first world countries so most likely their government has so much money already that they don't need to get taxes from this casinos. However, if you are going to go and moved on those countries, might be a bad idea as well as the cost of living will obviously be too high.

Unless the OP has really set his eyes to relocate and enjoy his money from those countries listed. But for the majority of us, we still prefer to play online or even traditional based casinos locally. And even if we pay taxes like 20%, gonna be a win-win situation to us.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: February 19, 2024, 11:11:58 PM
We have all noticed the changes that have occurred in gambling over the past years, as gambling in 1990 or before is not the same as it is today due to several factors, including:
-Ease of playing and more casinos.
-Inventing new tools and methods of playing.
-Online gambling and the emergence of easy-to-use applications that support all games.
-The method of advertising has changed, becoming more effective and attracting more players.
-The presence of liquidity due to the increase in the amounts that players bet.
-Provides more profit opportunities..

In your opinion, what are the factors that brought  change in the field of gambling? What is your outlook on it in the future?

It's the advertisement and obviously online gaming has taken the front seat right now. During the pandemic, one way to gamble is thru online and that's what bring more money to them, hence up to this year, new online casinos pop up and then they have to take their advertisement to the next level.

And with that, it has domino effect, slot operators produces more attractive games, poker tournaments goes up, prices for this kind of tournaments also increases. It's viewed on TV pushing for ads again and then we see young individuals developed their love for gambling. So we can't really pinpoint what factors as there could be a lot of them that push the boundaries of gambling in the 2020's and beyond.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it letting the bank know that you are a BTC Investor? on: February 19, 2024, 10:43:33 PM

Finally, I told the the official that I am a BTC investor and it was written down behind the bank form I filled for mtge upgrade request. After on, my conscience wasn't at rest because I was wondering i have attracted the bank from monitoring my banks transactions.

Question please: was the official question on me necessary? And was it wrong of me letting her know that I am a BTC investor? My conscience just keep saying "Hello man, you fucked up talking about BTC out there".

In my case though, when my wife try to open a bank account, and obviously, I will have to be with her, and so we go to the bank and the manager came in and ask her a few questions. The bank manager asked here were the funds will be coming from, of course, she has a job so it was easy for her to answer that.

However, for unknown reasons, the bank manager was interested on me, as I heard her asking who am I and what is my business.

And when she heard that I was a crypto investor, they or the bank manager denied my wife a account on them. This is way bank in 2018, so we were surprised but irked at the same time. We just go on to the next bank and we were approved and up to know, we maintain our money with them.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: February 19, 2024, 10:30:22 PM
(...) Fury might lose his belts soon but it seems Saudi was wanting Francis to fight the winner of Fury/Usyk so the belt could be on the line then, though I don't think it should be right now.

If Ngannou was to beat AJ, then I wouldn't mind him fighting with a winner of Fury Vs Usyk. Sure, it will probably be a record speed to become an undisputed champion in only 3 fights, and giving a novice such a chance sounds like a joke at first. But not giving him such an opportunity, after almost beating Tyson in his very first boxing fight and after defeating Tony, would make the whole sport look bad.
It's not a good look when a newcomer manhandles all the top stars and boxing organisations pretending nothing is happening making him build his record from scratch. Given his age, he would never be able to get a title fight the "normal" way.
AJ fight will confirm if Ngannou belongs in the top 10 or was his first fight just a fluke.

Most likely it will be the case, if ever he will beat AJ, his hype will soar to a new level and boxing fans are going to clamor for Francis to fight the winner of Fury vs Usyk. Francis chances is to hit AJ with his power, just like what he did on his UFC days, that power though, once it touches anyone, it's night-night for them.

Francis though is still 4:1 underdog as per crypto based sport bookies. Could they be setting us for a trap here or odd makers still think that Francis is no anomaly or what he got is just his power and that's it. While Joshua on the other hand, pro-boxer, but they don't think that Francis can upset AJ in this fight and making him a huge underdog.
