421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is not easy to make money in cryptocurrency on: October 18, 2020, 06:19:34 PM
Believe me my friend, anywhere in the world, it is not easy to make money. If you see any airdrop that promises 100$, 200$, 300$, 500$ and above just for referring peeps, or sharing post online, then it is atmost 99% fraudulent.

Likewise, if you see trade signals that promises certainty, or bounties that promises you a fixed price for your token, be wary. It is not that easy nor realistic.

This is the blunt truth in all ramifications. The reason why scammers always show or promise airdrops with huge rewards is that, many people will be attracted by the reward and hence also giving them (the scammers) enough opportunity to scam a good number of people. The thing is, because of the reward, many can do whatever that is being asked with the anticipation of getting the reward while they ends up getting scammed. As for trading signals which comes with certainty in trading, it is also fraudulent as well because almost all traders knows that the market can change anytime and since that is true, it means no one can be certain of any trade; Moreover the crypto space itself is unpredictable.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Altcoins That Suddenly Make the Top 25 Marketcap List? on: October 17, 2020, 05:16:22 PM
To the best of my understanding, I believe the things that brings a coin up that much is either hype or they have a major development they are working on which attracted a lot of people. When it is based on hype, the coin will appear from no where because of massive attention but when that hype starts dropping the coin start dropping down the rank. But most coins which got to that level they are, maybe top 25 via having strong use case, they will be revolving round that range, that is, they might drop in rank and later still come up; this is what differentiates them from those that rosed with hype.
Additionally, a clear observations will show that most of those coins in top 25 got there during the DeFi hype, now the question is, how long will they stay there?
From another angle, the circulating supply of a coin can also take a coin to such rank (the lower the better) at the same time, the coins use case can also be a deciding entity to such actualization.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why FOMO isn't as bad as people make it seem. on: October 17, 2020, 05:06:31 PM
Your title do not relate correctly with your write up, but to start with it first, FOMO is not encouraged in any way and many atimes it has been proved to be bad; well this is my opinion.
Secondly, you are right with your post about most coins. Buying Bitcoin and Ethereum most times comes with no problems or worries about when the price dumps, and if it will rise again, this has happened many times and those who bought low smiled at the end. But in the case of new projects, it is never advisable to buy at the top or even what we might thought to be the bottom, many people who did this regretted a lot, therefore just like you suggested, one need to be sure of the team's plans and the movement of the price before buying. On the other hand, most new projects, once you sell at a good price it's better to just move on and remove the idea of investing again.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My best investment strategy on: October 16, 2020, 10:15:48 AM
The best technique for building a strong crypto portfolio is to mix things up.
Survival in this market landscape is reliant on adaptability.
you choose what to do depending on how we see the market.
Sometimes you buy and hold for the long term, other times, you take short time trades to get big profit.
I Also take some calculated risks on new projects BTC

That is you diversifying and hence spreading your wings (funds) to achieve more while limiting underlying risks. But in cases of diversification, one should be careful of the coins he holds whether short term or long term, and this is mostly for new projects as most team are not truthful.
Also, the strategy taken by you is a good one, however for me; holding Bitcoin or Ethereum for long term is good while holding/trading most potential DeFi projects for very short time can also be a nice strategy. And lastly, about new projects, it is very good to take calculated risks and this can be when the project IEO is taking place on top exchanges; in this case I don't mind taking the risk.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My take on DeFi bounties on: October 16, 2020, 10:06:51 AM
Almost 99 percent of DeFi projects in bounty section are scam, you can say I have no prove but this is just my normal thought.

1. Why are almost all bounties released today DeFi projects?
2. Most of these projects have no information about team
( They are complete anonymous)
3. Majority of them are rushed, you can judge merely looking at website domain and designs
4. There are some that based on Uniswap wannabes

You can't compare these projects with real DeFi projects like introduced bounties like Oikos, Lattice, DIA, and few others, my advice is to be extremely picky after doing research

You are not far from the truth, that is just the whole truth. From my own opinion, I think the reason why most people rush all the DeFi bounties without bothering about checking how true they are is because of the DeFi hype. The current trend now is Defi and since that has lead to massive growth recently, people now see DeFi projects as the best even though the team are anonymous and might have nothing to offer. To add to it, once Uniswap listing is confirmed, no one cares about due diligence but to participate and get their own share.
Just like you indicated, there is no doubt, there are good DeFi projects but one should be careful of the majority out there which are only using DeFi hype etc to achieve their aims of satisfying themselves.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram is trash on: October 16, 2020, 09:53:57 AM
Aside Telegram platform is there any other platform that connects users and project owners easily? I don't think so. Although Discord is there, but yet people find it extremely easy to be on telegram than Discord, therefore I won't be mistaken for saying telegram is user-friendly. Also, the issue of bad groups on telegram is not capable enough to outweigh the importance and usefulness. So I would say, if a telegram group or channel is not serving the purpose you joined it, you can easily exit, and probably if it is a project you have invested in, you can also consider selling it off, so that you won't have anything taking you back to the group. But for being useful and Important, Telegram is.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Cardano as a hedge against Ethereum on: October 15, 2020, 07:21:16 PM
I started buying ADA just in case Ethereum 2.0 takes too much time to be implemented, which could impact ETH price. The most close competitor is Cardano, so I thought about building a hedge in ADA. In case ETH goes down, ADA could go up, as projects would move to the Cardano network.

However, I dont know how much, percent-wise, I should buy of ADA. Should I put 10% of the value of my ETH stash in ADA? Or 20%? How much would you recommend? This is for security purposes. I still believe ETH 2.0 will succeed.

In my own opinion, in as much as the Ethereum team are still working on the upgrade the best way they can, no one can actually know if it will be delayed longer than usual but in case it does, I do not think the delay in Ethereum blockchain will impact the price badly. The reason for this is, Ethereum ecosystem has grown a lot over the years and it is not like other smaller projects that upgrades easily, many things needs to be taken into account and the community will surely understand that as security is very paramount; this is just my opinion.
Nevertheless, about your decision to hold ADA, sincerely ADA is one of the coins I hold in high esteem after Ethereum because of their team resilience and strength, which is always felt in their ecosystem. So basically for someone like me, it might be a tough decision, however, putting 15% will be a nice move.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The rise of BCH on: October 15, 2020, 07:10:06 PM
Bitcoin cash is quite a good coin but all these unnecessary squabbles within its ecosystem won't take it anywhere, in fact all coins which tries to challenge Bitcoin even when there is no need for a competition keeps losing ground. Also, investing in Bitcoin cash of course is a choice however one can't really be sure it will be the next big thing or the next rockstar in the market, this is because the crypto space seems to work with trends and currently it is the DeFi trend and a careful look will show that many people are still be driven by the DeFi concept and hype.
Thus, it is imperative to invest in any coin after due diligence but not because of any type of predictions as it might fail.

430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can new crypto beat Eth in the market? on: October 14, 2020, 10:30:39 AM
There are many crypto token listed in coinmarketcap and been traded in top exchanges like binance, Yobit and lDex exchange which people consider as proficient enough in the cryptocurrency market and knowing well that Eth is ranking number 2 position in the coinmarketcap, let's discuss Do you think that any new crypto currency overtake Eth in times of price value can that be possible?

Let's start this way, how many new cryptocurrencies are really good or worthy of people investing in them? During the ICO era many came with different ideas and yet they didn't achieve anything, just few are still handing. During the IEO era same thing happened, many popped up calming what they can't achieve, and where are they today. Remember, during all these eras, new cryptocurrencies were coming out yet the status quo still remains. Now the Defi is here, how far has new cryptocurrencies gone in trying to beat Eth? All these means that, the type of cryptocurrencies we have today, only a very few of them are already working, and they aren't trying to beat Ethereum, rather they are trying to be worthy of investing and worthy of the attention of new investors. Therefore in my own understanding, there is no new crypto which still have the potential and power to beat Eth, remember Eth platform is not even stagnant, the team are also working on improving.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese central bank to airdrop 10 million digital yuan on: October 14, 2020, 10:13:40 AM
Woow, this is getting serious and amazing, where most countries are still thinking of what crypto holds or if they will adopt it and so forth, China is already at the forefront with gradual adoption of their own. This also goes to prove the fact that China is ready to try all technological innovations to make sure they remain one of the best countries in all rounds.
I believe their digital yuan will give crypto more exposure and since their own is already being used in retail store, it will make most potential developers to develop or build projects which will be useful.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: usdt tether market cap grows from 4,6 billions to 10,800 billions from March on: October 13, 2020, 10:00:35 AM
The only reason why Tether is still growing is that, it is stable and taking the volatility of the crypto space into account then you will see the reason why it keeps growing. I see it this way, the more crypto projects increases, the more people trade and since volatility still abounds, keeping funds in USDT seems to be better or trading against USDT is better. Even nowadays most projects lists against USDT unlike before it was majorly BTC or ETH.
Therefore, so far people continue seeing the need to use USDT be it in trading or keeping against volatility, USDT market cap will continue growing. As for what it is backed with, we can only believe what the team say because USDT is centralized and controlled by the team.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Bubble Burst? on: October 13, 2020, 09:51:13 AM
Even with this crash in price of major Defi projects, new ones are still coming up with little to nothing to offer other than the usual hype and so on. I believe if we take a good look at the price of a good number of DeFi projects we will see that they have dumped massively, however, although bear market affects all coins but at the same time not all coins will rise when the market changes for a good; this will be the case of many Defi projects. So it still brings us to the Important aspect which is making our research properly before investing in any so called DeFi project. Although some Defi are good but a whole lot are not.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of Defi scams on: October 13, 2020, 09:41:41 AM
Didn't know the number has grown like this, who would have thought that after all the potentials which Defi seems to display that the level of scam will grow to this number and slowly looking like what happened during the time of ICO. Also, another concern is that, with the hype still around the number of scam projects will likely increase since most people are yet to learn their lessons and how to research on good projects.
The best way to invest in any project has always been to study the project thoroughly, it is through this way that a potential investor will know if the project is good or not. I believe if people can actually do this, many projects won't succeed in scamming their users.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet do you think is the best? on: October 12, 2020, 07:55:53 PM
Which wallet do you like the most? Personally I really like Exodus, the only con is that it's not fully open source, but other than that it's a great wallet!

Are there any wallets which allow you to have multiple addresses?

I believe there are many wallets (or more preferable mobile wallets) today which makes it possible for users to have multiple addresses. In fact I can say that most wallets are now seeing the Importance of having multiple addresses so that users can easily store their desired cryptocurrencies in one wallet.
About these wallets, the first I can say is imtoken, the latest version now supports a good number of coins. Another is Trust wallet, this wallet supports a very good number of coins and tokens, I think more than that of imtoken. Another good thing about the trust wallet is its dapp browser which is efficient and can be used to connect to different platforms, just as if you are using metamask.
Enjin wallet is another, but among the three mentioned, Trust wallet is more better in my own opinion.
