441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: April 28, 2023, 11:24:00 PM
Chatgpt it's just a text generator. I don't see how it can help poker players. You can ask Chatgpt what your opponent's hand is and it will text you a completely random answer. If you want to lose your poker money as quickly as possible, ask Chatgpt how to do it.

Chatgpt isn't just a text generator.  It usually analyze the content and the question in it.  It gives answers according to the data input that has connection to the given topic.  Like for example, if we ask about gambling and wanted to see list of chance-based gambling games, the program will analyze the question and give answer according to the identified question.  Same goes on how it give advise while playing online poker.  As the player give the situation and cards on play,  ChatGTP will analyze the situation according to the given scenario and generates possible best choices and the possible out put of these choices.

Obviously asking for impossible will lead you to have a null answer since I am sure Chatgpt will answer you that he is incapable of guessing your opponents hand.  Grin  I somehow thinks Chatgpt can increase the possibility of winning due to its advices and options of choices  but I do not think that Chatgpt can destroy poker online due to the limited function of Chatgpt like not knowing precisely the next event.
442  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need a trust Site Cloud Mining on: April 28, 2023, 11:00:15 PM

Did Binance offer cloud services ? I just hear it but nicehash and miningrigrental is legit and I have been using it couple of times.

They still do offer cloud mining if you have the Binance app you can find it under earn> pool> then cloud mining.

But I already tried to calculate it and it's unprofitable due to their Electricity cost. So it's not worth investing unless after 3 months we see the price of Bitcoin increase in value by more than 100%.

I also look at the rate, the electricity cost kills the profit IMO.  So putting an investment on the Binance cloud mining pool is like a gamble hoping that the price of Bitcoin in the future would double or triple in order to take profit which I think it is better to just buy Bitcoin and wait for the price to surge.  At least in the case where we buy BTC directly, we hold the coins and do not rely on the third party for profit acquisition.

I want to start a cloud mining any cryptocurrency
Buy Bitcoin or any other top marketcap coin with a promising future, send the coins to your Hardware wallet and wait

You will way more returns and sending money to this centralized platforms to "make" more money for you. it always ends badly. You are familiar with Ponzi schemes based on your trust ratings. I think you know what I am talking about.

I second this advice.
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Won't Be Long. on: April 28, 2023, 10:22:53 PM
You can hod bitcoin and expect a price of a million dollars. It is possible, I do not deny it, but when the price is a million dollars, the purchasing power of the dollar may be weak. If you want to get rich, you have to take risks. The same GPT Chat opened up many opportunities for the future mainstream. And then there will be many interesting projects in the crypto industry that are worth investing in and it is possible to make a profit. Bitcoin is good for rich people, and if you have a small investment of 1-5 thousand dollars, and you want to get 100-500 thousand, then bitcoin is not the best choice.

Analyzing the growth of Bitcoin price, it maybe the two.  Adoption or the valuation of dollar become weak.  I agree the possibility of Bitcoin getting into a million dollar a piece can be due to weaker dollar purchasing power caused by hyper inflation.  But there is also a possibility of Bitcoin reaching 1m dollar value because of global adoption.  Though it is easier to achieve with the mixture of both inflation and adoption.

Bitcoin is good for all people not only the rich one,  anything that can bring profit regardless of being small or huge is good for everyone but of course we should set our expectation in reality.
444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best non Kyc exchange on: April 28, 2023, 10:02:26 PM
You can refer to this link discussion:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/s8l7vc/list_of_nonkyc_exchanges/  for the list of non-kyc exchanges.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/zn32hr/are_any_crypto_exchanges_nonkyc_still/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/yz23au/best_non_kyc_exchanges_to_buy_btc_on/
https://coinledger.io/blog/non-kyc-exchanges

But take note: if the exchange is centralized, they may shift to KYC exchanges anytime since their service is under the regulatory law.  It is best to choose decentralized exchanges if you really wanted to use non-kyc exchanges because there is no possibility for these decentralized exchanges to require KYC.  They are created for that purpose of not implementing KYC for anonymous transaction.

445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i reverse a Bitcoin transaction? on: April 28, 2023, 09:20:49 PM
Imagine purchasing goods from a store using Bitcoin and being able to reverse the transaction after leaving the store. Sounds intriguing, right? However, this raises a question about the true decentralization of the transaction. The fact is, once a transaction is confirmed by the blockchain, it cannot be reversed. The blockchain doesn't differentiate between a correct or incorrect address, it simply confirms transactions based on the fees paid. If funds are sent to an incorrect address, they are irrecoverable unless the address owner is known. Thus, the permanence of blockchain transactions reinforces its decentralized nature.

There is a condition where the transaction is irreversible.  The condition is being confirmed.  Unconfirmed transaction is susceptible to double spending and cancellation, this is another reason why merchants and  exchanges do not send or deliver item or services unless it has 2 or 3 confirmation.

Bitcoin transaction is immutable once there is a sufficient confirmation.  There are cases where a transaction needs a number of confirmation to be labeled safe or secured just like what this article is talking about.
446  Economy / Economics / Re: What class of an investor are you? on: April 27, 2023, 09:51:14 PM
Going by what you explained here, there is no investing category fitting my style and status other than the new investor. I don't engage in Ponzi, I don't have such a big money to invest and I don't have such patience and money for the research that will fetch me later money. All I have money for is the investment that will give me the opportunity to make little money by buying shares in other companies. It is a little share, must not be big, it's a means to secure the future, so better than doing nothing.

Obviously you are a researcher type even though you are a new investor.  Being an investor can be a mixed of the given class, you can be a newbie but do your diligent research before investing, while I think I already passed the newbie investors and now just a researcher investor. I always take my time and try to know details about the market I get interested with.  I always wanted to get involved in a long term investment that is why I like researching the fundamental market of the investment I wanted to venture.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe I should wait before owning my bitcoin on: April 27, 2023, 09:24:52 PM
there's a right time to buy but for now you'll have to wait for it cause when you buy right now while the price is still high, yes you can still gain enough profit but, it may cost a lot of money but if will you buy it in a bearish and hold it thinking for long term investment it may be worth a shot.

You wait, wait, and wait for the price of Bitcoin to go down, but instead of going down it just keeps going up. Finally you decide to buy when the Bitcoin price is high enough, but you buy it when the market is aggressive, in the end you lose money and regret it.

It the price of Bitcoin is surging and has increased by a huge percentage from the time it started, then I think it is wise to wait for the correction in order to get into the market with lower price.  It is not bad to wait for a better opportunity of buying Bitcoin at a lower price if and only if the market is surging and is yet to experience correction.

What lessons can be learned? don't delay buying Bitcoin. If you have the opportunity to buy now, do it. Don't delay any longer.

The lesson to be learned is not about delaying or not delaying.  It is about the market entry timing. We should know better that rushing to invest in Bitcoin without considering the market trend and performance for the past weeks or months can often lead us to a wrong entry point.  Like those who are in rush to invest when Bitcoin are in its peak and those who missed to invest when the market is in its  bearish sentiment and at the lowest entry point.  It is the right timing that we must learn if we wanted to maximize profit in Bitcoin trading.
448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difference between long and short term investments in crypto on: April 27, 2023, 09:04:34 PM
Ethereum is a good example of a long term investment. The coin has ranked among the top cryptocurrency investments and has shown alot of potential for growth in the future.

Ethereum can also be a good example of short term investment because the same thing you stated about short term investment, traders can also take advantage of the volatility of the ethereum market.  I do not think that Ethereum market moves differently from Bitcoin market.  They are both highly volatile and may crash and surge from time to time.

Bitcoin is an excellent example of a short term investment. Day traders have made quick profits by buying and selling bitcoin within a single day.

Aside from being an excellent example of short term investment, Bitcoin is more superb in being a long term investment.  Actually it is better than your given example for long term investment (ethereum).  It has proven that Bitcoin give more profit to people who are into a long term investment.

If you wanted to give an example for short term investment, I think memecoins, and shitcoins are the best example for it.  They often surge in a short period of time due to hype and pump& dump a few weeks/months after it was release in the market then become in hiatus mode for so long until most of them goes bankrupt or worthless...

This is mixed AI generated with some human modification.

About the subject matter,  a shit coin is determined by their road map and value and not necessary by market cap which can also be manipulated.

Nope, for shitcoins, roadmap is just a decoration and has nothing to do with the value of the coins.  Shitcoin market as you stated is often manipulated and subject to pump and dump before withering away.

449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 26, 2023, 11:17:02 PM

Match of the year as far as the hype, but in the fight itself, it was a clear domination of Tank Davis, so I don't see it qualifying for fight of the year. There is a good match though still for us, and that is Haney vs Loma, this could be fight of the year of the match goes like back and forth between the two and it's hard to see who is winning.

Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia is one overly hyped fight. They hype it on social media and different platform by creating intrigues which is somehow successful.  Ryan Garcia made the fight very interesting but sadly he ate his words at the end getting an unexpected KO by body shot.  It is till very early to say the fight between Davis and Garcia as fight of the year, we should wait for until the last month of the last quarter because there may be other fight worth nominating as fight of the year than Davis-Garcia fight.

Yeah, seems that Garcia has accepted that he can't be a lightweight anymore, time to move up to light welterweight at 140 lbs so that he won't rehydrate himself to death just like in this fight. And most likely it really affected his power because he can't rehydrate his body because there is a clause that he can only go as high as 10 lbs to recover before the actual fight. There are fighters that rehydrated as high as 15 lbs just to get their body to 100%.

Davis just outsmarted Garcia by adding that rehydration clause.  The time I saw Ryan Garcia during the introduction, I feel that he isn't fully conditioned and he looks pale and exhausted. Well, the fight is done and I think Ryan Garcia had learned his lesson not to just agree to any clause just to have the fight.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What a physical Bitcoin could look like? on: April 26, 2023, 10:52:40 PM
What are your thoughts on what a physical Bitcoin could look like and an idea on how it would work?

I have no idea except the logo being printed loaded with BTC in it.  I do not think we can represent Bitcoin in physical form.  It is a virtual currency, anything physical is not Bitcoin but just some printout loaded with Bitcoin.  If you create any physical coins and say it is Bitcoin is stupid thing IMO.  And if they made Bitcoin to physical will defeat the purpose of why Bitcoin is created.  You cannot instantly move physical object across the border, do you?  So why bother creating physical Bitcoin when we already have fiat currency for it?

Using 3-D printers to manufacture physical Bitcoins with private keys that can be used to redeem their BTC online could be a reasonable solution. Given that many people like to see their assets in what we call cash, the desire for digital currencies to be produced like traditional fiats is growing.

It is proven  a failed thing.  The creator of the coin can scam people by retrieving the BTC on the coin after he sold it to the client.  It was a hot topic recently so I do not think that the said process could be a reasonable solution.

451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: save seed phrase in song. on: April 26, 2023, 10:14:16 PM
Brilliant, because it looks like you will become a great novelist some day, and stupid, because you using crypto seed phrase, how is that a song anyway? This days that are so desperate with everything they do, I have seen people guessing seed phrases and putting them together hoping they get into someone's crypto wallet. Thanks for giving them this clue, now they can go buy novel books and start inserting words themselves.

I do not think it is stupid to put seeds in a song but teaching the kids of that song is.  Using seeds phrase in a song is brilliant making it not obvious to be a seed phrase unless @OP declare that it contains his seed phrases.  He can always take care of the piece that contains the seed phrase just like the seed phrase itself.  Creating a copy, laminating or printing it then store it where the element of nature can't destroy it.  This way when someone got the copy of that song have no idea that seed phrase are integrated to it.

I have in no way stored my recovery seed online, thinking it's safe, it's a bad practice, I would rather find a book and write down my recovery phrases and keep the book safe, if you don't have money for a hardware wallet it's better to get a book and write down your seed phrase.

Important information such as seed phrase and private keys should be stored out of the internet. The reason behind is that, there is no safe place in the internet especially the known storage sites since hackers will always try to hack it.
452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum not opening on: April 26, 2023, 09:51:13 PM
I also encounter such problem, electrum not launching even though it is on the task manage.  I often rightclick electrum on the task manager and end process it then relaunch the electrum.  Mostly it works that way.  If it is persistent, I restart the PC and relaunch the electrum and it also solve the problem.

The reason behind the electrum not launching is possibly there is a glitch that make the interface of the electrum not appear.  It is also possible that there is conflict on the use of resources reason why the application just get listed on the task manager and yet the UI doesn't appear.

OP has already found the issue and it was because his Electrum wallet was not updated to the latest version. I believe it was the same experience that you have with OP so I guess, you need also some upgrades of your wallet.

I am also using an old version of electrum but the experience of @OP rarely happen to me.  I do not think it is because of the wallet being an old version. I believe it is more on the resources conflict.

I'd see that upgrade is very important, even in other applications and our devices as it will affect the performance. This is what I usually did, maybe this is the reason why I'd never experienced this thing. It is also important to look for antiviruses and some apps making lagging on the computer for this will cause delays as well.

It is obvious that upgrade is important for security and being user friendly and some glitch fixes.
453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 23, 2023, 08:52:22 PM
We all know Bitcoin will break its ATH but we are unsure when it will happen.  We have the hint but still, it can't be considered a fact since it does not happen yet.  I would say Bitcoin is a good investment for pension fund but it is always best to invest what the client is afford to lose.  We can set a percentage of the pension funds as allocation to invest in Bitcoin.  It is much better if the percentage allocation is the amount that the client can afford to lose.  This way, the client won't missed out on the profit on Bitcoin if it surge and at the same time won't be greatly affected if the Bitcoin market uptrend is derailed or delayed.

There is a saying that we shouldn't put our eggs in one basket and it should also be applied in every investment regardless where the fund is coming from.
454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction from $30K: Reason to worry? on: April 23, 2023, 08:29:57 PM
I hope the same think is need waiting for few week so done the price $35k after correction, For those who have been waiting for a while, there is no doubt that good times are about to come. My opinion is that if someone thinks he can wait a long time and has a long term plan, then it can be a good decision.
Now is the time to wait again because for some people it is not possible to sell Bitcoin during this downturn. The price of $35K after the correction is still very much achievable for Bitcoin and indeed it is right for everyone to wait for it to arrive after this correction is over on Bitcoin in the market, although I don't expect it to be reached immediately within this month.

Isn't it better to accumulate than waiting?  If anyone who is cost averaging, buying at the current dip of Bitcoin would be a good deal.  If a trader enter at $30k. the recent price decline is a good time to average down his investment cost.  It is still better if the price continue to go down before the market to have fully transition to bull market.  This way those who accumulate can get Bitcoin at a lower price before they see the price started to surge and have an uptrend rally.  This might be the last time we can see Bitcoin at this price range so better to take advantage and fill our bags before the Bitcoin market pick up and uptrend.  If we missed this opportunity, we might end up missing buying Bitcoin at this price range.  Always remember, every cycle, Bitcoin has a higher lowest floor than the previous.
455  Other / Off-topic / Re: Married couples on bitcoin on: April 23, 2023, 08:04:01 PM
In any form of business. it is always great if couples support each other.  It is not limited on Bitcoin alone, I have seen many investments and businesses that prosper because couples support each other.

being a married couple and planning on starting a new family can be hard, it is full of hurdles and problems that involve money, especially when they are having kids. That being said, as long as both of them can afford to invest and understand the risk they are taking by investing in Bitcoin, then I think this could be a good idea and could benefit them in the long run.

But with someone beside you in planning, it is much easier than planning alone.  Besides, the lack of insight and funds is the major reason planning for a good future is hard.  But if you have the knowledge or wisdom and the fund, planning won't be that hard because:
1.  You know what to do
2.  You have the fund to pursue what you wanted to do
3.  You have a partner that will support you all through out your business/investment venture.

So I agree with @OP, it is best to engage in Bitcoin if our partners approve and support our actions.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi is eventually ID by the government on: April 23, 2023, 07:35:25 PM

Discovering Satoshi's identity could potentially be a problem for the crypto ecosystem because it would mean that, if alive, there is a person (or a group) owning a huge amount of bitcoins that could potentially kill its value even though it would be extremely stupid to sell such huge amount all together. For me one of the most important things about bitcoin is of course its decentralization, and knowing that someone still alive owns 1 mln coins would be a huge problem, I don't think I would trust the system anymore.

Satoshi had long disconnected himself to the cryptocurrency industry.  The name is known because he created the first decentralized cryptocurrency but he was been missing in action for more than a decade.  I do not think that he has that influence on the cryptocurrency anymore nor give any huge impact on the industry if he is identified.

Bitcoin had been developing without Satoshi and obviously, the community and developer won't be shaken if one day Satoshi is identified, it will be a huge news yes but the Bitcoin economy had been long moved without Satoshi so I don't see any huge impact if in the future, Satoshi is identified and arrested due to his shady activities ( if ever there is any).

In case Satoshi move his coins and sell it on the market, it would be a good thing because the sold BTC will be spread out to different hands making the economy stronger.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid cryptocurrency phishing attacks on: April 23, 2023, 07:04:10 PM
Thank you for the information, this will greatly help readers to avoid being victim of phishing attacks or if they stumbled unconsciously on a suspicious site.  Many newbies don't know what to do after they stumbled and give permission to a non-reputable sites, giving them suggestion on using Revoke application will greatly help prevent future phishing attack if the owner of that suspicious site decided to use the data they gathered and launch an attack.

↑ I agree, we should be vigilant whenever we participate in airdrop, not all airdrop are genuine, many of them are just collecting data so that they can sell it to third party.  Others are just using it to connect and gain access to our wallet.  So it is great that @OP expose the hackers means of connecting and phishing other people's key to access their crypto wallet.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 23, 2023, 07:32:48 AM
Like what many predicted Davis won via TKO via a liver punch he sneak that liver punch just when Ryan is holding in, I just knew its a matter of time before that counter punch, Ryan is too careless and very aggressive to hit, and land his left hook but unfortunately, Davis is good at this he has a good lateral movement and ring generalship to weathered Ryan's attack.
There may be a rematch but definitely Tank has better skill in the ring, he can get his punches in while Ryan is having a hard time landing his left hook.

While Davis was defending himself and waiting for the right moment to launch a strike that would knock Garcia out cold, Ryan steadily threw punches to Davis. Ryan had a busy day because a good battle calls for a good complement. He couldn't believe Davis had defeated him. When Ryan Garcia was hit by Gervonta Davis' monster punch in round 7 of the fight, Floyd Mayweather was impressed. It was entertaining to watch these youngsters compete for the championship since they were just one victory away.

Well, Ryan is too busy throwing punches on the comfortable range of Davis, as a result, Ryan Garcia got countered on the second round making him kiss the canvas.  I also believe the rehydration clause has huge effect on Ryan's lower body resistance.  As I heard on the post interview, the deal clause limits Ryan Garcia's rehydration that makes him not in full condition during the fight.  But respect to Ryan Garcia on not using it as an excuse.

I have seen how Ryan Garcia is lacking that seems there are only 2 variation of his punches, jab and hook which makes his attack more predictable.  Congratulations to those who bet on Davis.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 22, 2023, 10:27:33 AM

I just finished reading an article about the "fundamentals" thing. Tank Davis also said that if he touches Ryan Garcia's jaw he is going to sleep, or worse he may probably break it. Well, I don't doubt that. It could happen and Davis has the power to do so. I just don't like the cockiness because the same goes when Garcia touches his jaw, he will probably sleep too.

Not if Davis chin is sturdier than the punching power of Garcia.  In case of Garcia, it is a proven that he don't have that much of a sturdy chin and he was KD by his opponent, he just got lucky that he turned the tide by KO-ing that opponent.  It is still very interesting to see on who will be the first one to deliver the KO punch that will end the fight.

This is why this fight had been debated all over social media because both boxers have the power punch that could end the fight in one haymaker.
And you are right @Dave1, it's not advice, it is a sarcastic statement. He said it too during their press conference that Garcia has nothing more but his left hook. Again, it means he lacks fundamentals.
We will see, 1 more day for us in our timeline, hours in Eastern Time.

Can't wait to see these two fighter to box it out.  They are successful in adding heat to the fire, and made lots of boxing fans to get interested.  Sadly it looks like the winner won't take all since they had made it clear that they won't be taking the others purse if they win, thought they will go with that challenge  since it was brought up during the social media argument.
460  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 22, 2023, 10:00:19 AM
It's gambling, that superpicks on DSTV might just be using the free access platform to lure people or maybe attract gambling customers, then when they might have gotten qualify and qualified customers already, they will locked the platform in a way where it can only the accessed with money, and you will start seeing people using money for access to the platform as stake..

Not because it is host in a gambling platform it is considered gambling on the players part.  As long as there is no need to stake any amount of money it can't be considered gambling even if the host is a casino or a gambling platform.

Mind to think about the question of @OP, sure he presents a gambling site but the player don't need to wager anything to join the prediction game and possibly win a prize.

It's all gambling in every sense, despite you don't use money in playing it or staking it, you just have to predict only. But I suspect there's a stage you get to that you have to access with a sum of money. And it's fun anyway but it's still gambling.

Can you tell me in what sense it is called gambling?  It is very clear that for a game to be considered a gambling, a person need to put a stake or bet money.  The one stated by @OP doesn't need to wager any amount of money to participate and get a chance to win a prize.  You can call it a prediction game but never a gambling because it does not requires a player to stake something of worth in order to participate ang get a chance to win a prize.

If there is something that you will take risk then you can consider it as gambling, it doesn't that it's because it doesn't involve money then it is not gambling already. Some gambling sites requirements in participating in their promotion like this involve KYC which is much riskier than money as they can either sell it or use it to do illegal activities, well if it doesn't need anything and all you just need to do is predict then that's really a good one.

That is what I am talking about, if it does not involve a player to bet any amount of money or something that will cost him, it is not gambling.  But still lots of us here thinks that it is gambling simply because it is hosted in a gambling platform.
