441  Economy / Economics / Re: Own a house or rent one? Quick survey! on: June 12, 2021, 11:58:09 AM
It usually depend on your current situation. If you have the expense of buying your own house, it would be much better than renting one while if you do not have yet, you should settle on renting because it would go down like you are throwing your money away. If you can find a rent to own house, it would be much better no matter how long it will take because when the time comes that your payment ends, it will all be worth it unlike on just simply renting. In any other way, buying your own house is much better compared to renting so if I were to give an advice to someone, I would suggest to him that he should just invest on a house while he still can't buy one.
442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The views of developed countries with developing countries on bitcoin on: June 11, 2021, 06:26:42 PM
As to what others have mentioned, it is not about having a certain country being a developed or a developing one when it comes to the tolerance of bitcoin. Most of the time, the type of government decides whether they will see bitcoin as a threat or as a tool that might be a huge help someday. It can really be observed also that only the developing countries are trying to prohibit crypto as developing countries try to adjust or collaborate with crypto for the betterment of the nation itself. It can be soon a reason why other developing countries will keep on struggling with their economy.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the older Meme coins a good investment? on: June 11, 2021, 05:52:54 PM
Memecoins regardless if it is old or young are much more risky investment. As we can all remember, Dogecoin was a memecoin that got hyped by Elon Musk that's why its value got up. Once the turn of events go against a certain memecoin, downfall is guaranteed and for now, even the most successful altcoin can experience it that's why it is not really ideal to invest on an old memecoin regardless of its current achievements. There's nothung wrong with playing safe so invest and focus more on top altcoins or bitcoin.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Many Different Coins Do You Own? Me = 11 on: June 11, 2021, 05:08:24 PM
I do not have much in my portfolio at the moment due to the crisis the market is experiencing but ever since bitcoin went on a bull run, I started focusing my investment on it. Even though it might look risky as I keep on focusing on it amidst the its downfall, I know and I believe that it will do the same thing it did back then. There's no way bitcoin is not going back stronger than before because over the past years, it always did so I wouldn't mind waiting cause it is much better than regretting the wrong decision I could've made as I manage to reach bitcoin's another bull run in the future.
445  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador plan to make BTC legal tender on: June 11, 2021, 04:42:40 PM
They made history as they become the first nation to have bitcoin legalized and they are even promoting foreign people who are crypto enthusiast to go to their country and get a free citizenship. This will be huge step up for bitcoin specially if in case it works out well for their country. If ever they successfully got help from bitcoin to improve their economy, other countries will surely do the same thing and it will give off a chain reaction until crypto finally dominates the whole world. Still there will be a lot of adjustments before that happens yet there's a possibility we will see it in the future.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran also wants to legalize crypto on: June 11, 2021, 04:23:22 PM
This is another big news follow the El Salvador's legalization of crypto within their nation and offering free citizenship for crypto enthusiasts. Lately, crypto mining was banned in Iran but now they are planning to allow crypto to be operated within their territory, it might be a huge upside down turn of event but maybe there's a reason behind it. There are a lot of people who use crypto in Iran that will definitely benefit from this, also it may encourage more people to start investing in crypto as it gets legalized in there.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could ether hit 100k? on: June 11, 2021, 01:07:11 PM
So far, the highest value in my prediction for ETH is $10k with consideration to the current market situation. On the other hand, we know what other things could happen in the future, we may see bitcoin hitting a higher ATH first before seeing ETH experiencing the same thing. So if you got your hopes high for bitcoin and ethereum, might as well keep on holding than to regret when the time comes that both experiences massive bull runs. Holding was never an easy thing to do but if you have the patience and perseverance to do it, grab the chance and do not lose the opportunity.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: investment and loss anticipation on: June 11, 2021, 11:37:20 AM
Talking about cryptocurrencies, of course, it doesn't rule out investing or stocks, in this case, of course we have to be careful in investing because investing also contains risks. The risk here is to lose funds or other assets when the investment does not live up to expectations or even fails. Yes, it is true that we cannot invest and then only expect profits without understanding the risk of loss, but to warn of all possible losses, what steps should we take?
It should start with yourself as you make research with regards to your investment. If you are not going to anticipate your losses and even your winnings, you would not be able to achieve anything regardless of the time you spend with your investment. On the other hand, doing research and making time to learn more about how you can improve your investment can be a good way as you get to know how you can avoid possible losses. Investments are all risk, you only win when you know how you can avoid losses and increase your profit intake.
449  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Naturally Defined By 4 Year Boom And Bust Cycles on: June 11, 2021, 10:48:02 AM
A brief timeline of crypto history.

2013  Bitcoin reaches a new all time high. Then crashes as silk road is shut down. Ross Ulbricht is arrested. And china bans financial institutions from buying or selling bitcoin.

2017  Bitcoin reaches a new all time high. Then crashes amidst allegations of bitfinex and tether market manipulation of btc. And china reportedly bans cryptocurrency exchanges.

2021  Bitcoin reaches a new all time high. Then crashes. The first event in the crash is attributed to chinese crypto miners being forced to shut down from alleged electricity shortages caused by coal power plant outage.

Based on the above, might it be fair to expect another bitcoin all time high, followed by a crash in 2025?

Will bitcoin naturally be defined by 4 year boom and bust cycles.

Due to its rewards halving being based around approximate 4 year cycles?
It is a good observation and it kinda make sense on how bitcoin keeps on booming out. Before the bull run at 2021, it went on a 4years crisis wherein lots of crypto enthusiasts ended up losing interest with their investment. If ever that's really the case, we should expect another bull run on the next four years. Maybe that is the reason why many people are holding their investments still at the moment, because they are fully aware that another bull run would occur. You just need to be patient and have faith on your investment, no matter what it is, either bitcoin or ethereum, just keep on persevering.

451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discipline hodling altcoins in the face of challenges. on: June 10, 2021, 04:51:33 PM
We all have a level of discipline when it comes to HODling but that discipline is tested by the the level of challenges we face. Everyone has challenges, true...but the challenges are different for everyone, some more peculiar to others.

I had a conversation with a friend today who was excited that he was able to discipline himself, ignore the financial challenges he had and still was able to HODL  his many altcoins without selling even when he had some  pressing needs.

I agree that there will always be needs and challenges, but the big questions are?

Will you Judge someone who sold his altcoins in the face of a situation
which he did not see any way out of financially other than to liquidate some assets as not disciplined enough?

In the face of a life threatening situation that finance is the solution to, will you still hold on to your coins knowing that liquidating some or all will get you out of the situation? Or will you wait for help from above or somewhere else?

Every person has their unique stories as well as their reason why they commit such things. If one experienced an emergency situation that can be aided through finances, they can be found reasonable on why they are selling their holdings. On the other hand, discipline and perseverance to keep on holding requires a lot of strong will and smart mind in order for you to make it through. Holding can be a gift or a strategy but not everyone can do it or will do it due the FUDs dessimenated in the forum. If you really believe on a certain altcoin, you should strengthen your desire so that you won't break your grip on the dream you are trying to achieve.
452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefit yourself, not fear on: June 10, 2021, 04:20:35 PM
I first came across a coin called Bitcoin in 2016. But I didn't know where it was made or what it was used for. But later I came to know about this side. But I didn't know how it works here. But I found out that virtual dollars are available here. And now I am looking for something good in all places / threads with the importance of it.
The main reason for giving this post to me is that no one is afraid to go to this side and move forward on their own. So that the new talent inside them can spread among everyone. So that others benefit because of their own talent To come,

NOTE:If anyone doesn't know a topic, create a topic here. Thousands of seniors will agree with your answer. Shocked

Bitcoin brings out your talent once you get involved in it. Just by the fact that you've known bitcoin ever since 2016, you should already consider yourself fortunate. Not everyone was given the chance of knowing bitcoin and many people wished they learned about it earlier than they have been. Making threads like this is a good thing and it encourages others who fears to ask questions as it may seem funny or too shallow for someone who has an account in here. Still, a question should be treated nicely and responded properly so that everyone can benefit from here and they can be a benefit to others too as they become the tool of exchanging information they were afraid to ask.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: June 10, 2021, 04:02:54 PM
Before thinking that such events may happen, learn about Dogecoin more first. We are all aware how Elon Musk hyped it through his tweets for a while and the price and the influence of it really grown larger. On the other hand, as Elon started removing bitcoin as a mode of payment for tesla, it affected bitcoin in a detrimental way. If ever he would allow Doge as payment for Tesla, the same thing might happen just like with bitcoin. Once he abandons Doge, it will come crashing down hard as its very foundation came from just a single person whixh is Elon Musk.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent residence in El Salvador for crypto entrepreneurs on: June 10, 2021, 03:27:56 PM
Just imagine how huge the influence bitcoin has made over the years wherein a country and a President is already pursuing to legalize and operate the use of bitcoin within their state. At some point, it is really risky but if ever it causes them lots of advantages over other contries that are against the use of bitcoin, other countries will surely follow his lead. It can also earn you a free citizenship if you are a crypto entrepreneur which can be helpful for those who are having difficulty investing on crypto due to their country's restrictions with the use of it.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was invited by a group of young students from India to educate them about BTC on: June 10, 2021, 02:54:41 PM
Two months ago, I had a virtual class session with the college students of a well-known university in the Philippines. It was a successful webinar by the way in educating the college students about Bitcoin and the real use cases of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Now I am invited by a young group of college students from India between ages 18 to 24 to schedule a webinar about Bitcoin 101, thanks to a great friend of mine who endorsed me to them. For the first time in history, I am doing a Bitcoin 101 session with an international community (as most of my sessions are from the Philippines). It will be in two weekends from now.

P.S. I am also endorsed by another friend of mine to virtually educate a young group of professionals in the Philippines about Bitcoin 101 as well, but no final details yet regarding the date and time. Educating the misinformed is something that we need to do to make them fully understand on what Bitcoin really is all about.
This just show how much influence bitcoin has made so far. There are even research studies with regards to crypto that either proves its usefulness and the harm it may cause to people. It is a good thing that you were able to share your knowledge to the young ones so that at they can learn and start investing while they are still far from facing the real world. This will help them secure their future as well as informing their friends and relatives about bitcoin and other crypto. Soon, we will see more innovations in terms of spreading bitcoin knowledge and it may lead to making everyone aware of the existence of crypto.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As a rational real Person I dont see btc success on: June 09, 2021, 05:53:24 PM
Bitcoin is already successful actually. Amidst all of the cons you've mentioned like electricity and losing the favor of the government, bitcoin was still able to stand still firmly. It may also depend on how you define success, if you consider it as something that helps you as you persevere on it or it is something that gives everyone benefits as it goes higher in achievements. Bitcoin will has been and will always be successful and as time passes by, it will prove itself more to people why it deserves its position at that moment.
457  Economy / Economics / Re: A bubble is when price is not justified on: June 09, 2021, 05:29:33 PM
Then the statement that tells bitcoin is a bubble means it will only be considered as one if you percieve it like that. If you see bitcoin as an asset that can help you gain profit, regardless of the volatility of it, you are then considering it as something that is not a bubble. They say it only becomes a bubble once the price is justified, as mentioned by the OP, it is hard to determine if one is a bubble, you can only tell it as time passes by and as you buy it. In bitcoin's case I do not see it as bubble, I see it as a valuable wealth I need to obtain to secure my future.
458  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin As a Payment Method Against Other Payment Network on: June 09, 2021, 04:53:09 PM
We all know bitcoin is way much better form of payment than any other existing right now. As long as a certain business or even a small establishments accepts it as a mode of payment, convenience and taxless experience is guaranteed. For Tesla's case, even though it has already removed bitcoin as a payment method, nothing will change on how it works for other companies. Indeed the price was affected but sooner or later it will once again recover for sure. It would be best if we start investing on bitcoin as soon as we can so that when the time comes that almost everything is accepting it as a payment, we have a lot on hand.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The view of bitcoin in the eyes of the world's millionaires on: June 09, 2021, 04:34:57 PM
The COVID-19 pandemic has succeeded in making many people around the world invest. From stock market instruments, financial products, precious metals, and most recently there are cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.
The cryptocurrency market has succeeded in attracting the interest of many people because the profits derived from the increase in the price of the coin have increased dramatically.

Although it can be used as an investment instrument, cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin are not included in the list of conventional investments such as deposits, gold, foreign exchange, property, bonds, or stocks.

From a profit perspective, investing in cryptocurrencies can be more profitable. Because the price increase is very high compared to other investment instruments. Especially at this time, the prestige of bitcoin cs is on the rise.

it would be nice if bitcoin was developed well by those involved, so that the achievements could be felt indirectly by people who have not joined, if bitcoin can be put to good use, then it is possible that there will be a lot of interest among young people.

hopefully bitcoin can still exist and be able to incarnate or answer the concerns of young people who are increasingly unemployed whose future directions are not clear.
So far, bitcoin has been much of a blessing to many specially to the amateur investors who doesn't have strong background with regards to proper handling of finances. Most of us here just learned through our experiences and also reading information about how the market works. The pandemic has been a good opportunity or time to start investing yet it could also have a strike back to us once it has already ended as the economy of many countries starts plummeting down. If you are still not securing your future amidst having knowledge about it, you are clearly wasting the chance that not everybody was able to get in their lifetime.
460  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Covid-19 carrying the growth in digital currencies? on: June 09, 2021, 04:11:49 PM

As a result of Covid -19, in payment preferences, Many companies and authorities around the world are increasingly looking at digital currencies as an alternative way to make transactions in digitalized world. So guys what do you think about ? How will be easy the day today life after adopting for digital currencies?
As we experience this never ending pandemic, we've seen how much crypto has grown for the price. During the beginning of Covid, just after a few month bitcoin made a bull run that exceeded everyone's expectation. Although we cannot fully credit it all to the current pandemic, it still made a huge impact on making crypto more well-known all over the world as payments using physical money became unideal since we are trying to avoid the passing of the virus. There has been a lot of investment and payment made with the use of digital currency even up until now which makes it look like we are on the transition of having crypto over fiat already.
