4601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 08, 2020, 04:15:14 AM
Recently an Indian young boy committed suicide as he lost enough money by betting in IPL. He lost all of his money then borrowed money from his friends and bet with it in a hope of win back something. But he lost everything and took the step finally.
Quote
He had taken this extreme step as he was involved in the cricket (IPL) betting due to which he faced financial loss and could not bear the pressure. When the other roommates went for work, Sonu had committed suicide in the morning.
Source

This is nothing new, we know a lot of gambler committed suicide earlier after losing large amount in gambling. I have found another news reletaed to this IPL's Dark Side: A Rise in Suicide Cases Has Greeted the Return of Live Cricket on TV

People shouldn't bet with the money what they can't afford to loss. Borrowing money for betting is worst decision ever. Every gambler know these things but many of them still do it. Does this kind of news make you worried? Share your thought about this.

How can a 21 year old be called a "boy"?

He is a 21 year old man who knows what is right and what is wrong, he took a chance which according to me was a stupidest idea and lost everything. After that he should have stopped but he went ahead borrowed money from others and again lost it.

He not only destroyed himself but those who had lend him the money they are also now suffering the loss because of his stupidity.

I do not have any sympathy for such moron.
4602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: when is the right time to buy cryptocurrency? on: November 07, 2020, 02:18:20 PM
Except Bitcoin I have never invested money or time in any other cryptocurrency. If you are planning to buy Bitcoin then my suggestion would be anytime is good and then keep on accumulating more, hodl until you make a decent profit.

4603  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinPlay.org – Bitcoin Gambling Directory on: November 07, 2020, 12:31:18 PM
I have visited your casino directory listing website and found the design and information somewhat usefull. While browsing through the information I  found Bitcoincasino.io and wanted to check the review part but found nothing there. I think you need to update the website completely before promoting it on this forum. Incomplete information would create a negative impact for you.
4604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is your Bitcoin wallet safe? on: November 07, 2020, 06:35:32 AM
There is a lot of information available in this forum about good Bitcoin wallets. Why do you need to go to other website?

I have been using Mycelium wallet for a long time now as my priority was to have a mobile based wallet and I have not faced any issue with it to date.

I have used Electrum desktop but for altcoins and not for Bitcoin.
4605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 07, 2020, 06:10:34 AM
Anyone expect Delhi Capitals to beat Sunrisers in the second eliminators? With SRH in such terrific form, it will be a mistake to bet against them (they have won 5 out of their last 6 matches). DC looks hopeless as of now. Their bowlers are clueless, despite Rabada and Nortje performing in such a terrific manner during the initial matches. And the less talked about the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, that better.

The problem that I think with DC is their batting and SRH on the other hand have good bowlers. If SRH wins the toss and bowls first then they will win the match but if DC wins the toss and bowl first then it will be a close match. Looking at past performance the win probability of SRH is higher than DC. So, if you are betting on that match then place your bet on SRH.
4606  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is pumping on: November 06, 2020, 08:47:49 AM
I had gone through and read most of the replies to my topic and yes everyone here is very optimistic that Bitcoin can reach $50k but I do not think it is possible this year maybe next year. I too feel it will break the exisiting ATH and might be able to reach $30k as it is only November. I also think at $20k Bitcoin will have a strong resistance as there are many who had purchase Bitcoin at that price in 2017.

I am locking this topic as my question has been answered by you guys.
4607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 06, 2020, 06:38:09 AM
I say congrats to Mumbai Indians for becoming first finalist, the most balanced team in this IPL season so you guys are deserving champions. The Hitman had nothing yesterday but excellent bowling figure by Bumrah, very consistent on his bowling.

I don't agree when you claim that the Mumbai Indians are well balanced. They are not. Their batting is top class and I can agree with you on this. But their bowling looks very ordinary. Apart from Bumrah, none of the other bowlers have been impressive. Boult might have taken a lot of wickets, but at the same time he has leaked too many runs. And they don't have a quality spinner in their squad.

But, yet they managed to destroy most teams in the IPL, which proves they are far better and well balanced than other teams this season. They completely destroyed DC yesterday, DC batting was horrendous they had more ducks than runs on board. Bumrah was unstoppable yesterday he was a one-man army who was destroying all important DC batsmen. Great game by MI and it is possible they might also win this season IPL.
4608  Local / India / Re: WTF! with this board? on: November 06, 2020, 06:31:30 AM
I am in support of these changes, indeed there are many things that are not working on this board, and some changes that you are suggesting will certainly improve the way this board is functioning.

4610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is pumping on: November 05, 2020, 07:49:20 PM
2020 has been the worst year for every business and those who are into commodity business still, it did not affect the USD value of Bitcoin. The main reason behind it is Bitcoin is not affected by physical market.

The present crypto market is behaving positive and is very stable as it was in 2017. Every investor now belive and knows the potential of Bitcoin and that is one of the reason why many big financial institutions are now supporting Bitcoin.
Certainly that might be the reason but you cannot eradicate the fact that Bitcoin pump is lot related to PayPal starting to allow cryptocurrency purchase using their platform. This is a big step forward or you can also say towards Bitcoin adoption.
4611  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin is pumping on: November 05, 2020, 07:17:19 PM
This might be the first time that Bitcoin surpassed 14k after 2017.
It went up to 15k and because of strong resistance, it is trading around 14.9k while I am writing this post.

This might be the second time when everyone in this forum have their finger crossed and are hoping for a new all time high.
This might be the third or fourth or fifth time when everyone pumped and pumped.

So let me ask you a question in one word tell me:
1. Will Bitcoin create a new ATH?
2. What is your price prediction?
3. Will Bitcoin reach $50,000 this time.

Thanks.
4612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 05, 2020, 10:08:00 AM
Anyone here watching JIO women's T20 challenge? Saw the first match yesterday between Supernova and Velocity, I did not find it as interesting as IPL but in my opinion it is a good start to promote women cricket in India.

What do you guys think?

Today's match is between Velocity and Trailblazers.

4613  Local / India / Re: INDIAN ECONOMY, POLITICS & SOCIETY on: November 04, 2020, 09:41:08 AM
BTCump. Election day is going to come to an end and we will either be continuing with the old unstable guy or will be getting a new one. For the past couple of years, Western part of the globe has been silently controlling us either in the form of providing job in their homeland or by destroying Indian startups in the name of creation of a Digital India. So let us start the discussion here : Whom do you think will be winning the election tonight? Will Biden be more welcoming to the immigrants? Modi has made our country to depend completely upon the overseas companies which has a major share in Mechanical Sectors or more importantly IT sectors! With the temporary ruling out of the H1B Visa, our fellow citizens had faced major hardships in having a good stay in the US but I don't think this will continue for long enough.

But if the opposite tends to happen i.e Trump winning the election tonight in the US, I am not sure how these will be proceeding for another 4 years. Ruling out of H1B has far more adverse effect on our country. It would start with Students returning to our country after they finish off their graduation and thereby becoming unemployed. I could relate this to a worst case scenario which I have experienced last year : A known person of mine has finished his Mech graduation in UK but sadly they never got a job there and hence returned back here. Currently working for a salary of 40k INR per month.

Along with that a large volume of our citizens would be moving over to any EU based countries, Canada, Oceania and would be filling the empty spots there. This will further increase the difficulty of securing a permanent residency in the foreign lands and if this continues to happen we would be facing the worst unemployment rate of the forthcoming decade.

I am pretty much sure Trump will not get the second term. St the moment Biden is ahead of Trump and I feel it will remain as it is.

If Biden comes into power many changes will happen in America and some of those will benifit Indians. I am not certain about the economy as indian economy is completely in shamble and it will take years for us to get back to Pre covid situation.
4614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TOP 10 Lottery Winner Losers on: November 04, 2020, 08:27:16 AM
These top 10 winners show how tough is to maintain free money. The all became rich but after sometime again became rag. When you suddenly become rich you basically panic and destroy whatever you had earned. Being lucky sometimes can be a curse too. After reading this topic I would like to remain as I am now.
4615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 04, 2020, 06:15:04 AM
~Pakistan now again favorite to win the super over.  Smiley
I was crazy enough to add Pakistan to win in a $100 parlay and the odds while i wagged was a mere 1.12 thinking Pakistan is playing against a washed up Zimbabwe and i washed away my bet and this is my only loss in the parlay. No more pre match betting for Pakistan as i had the same incident in the last ODI World Cup when they played England if i remember correctly.

As they say that Pakistan is an unpredictable team so bet on them at your own risk.
Will be careful and most probably will be going for the underdog if Pakistan is involved  Grin.

Pakistani team has been playing substandard cricket for quite sometimes now. The were struggling to win matches in this series and as expected the couldn't even win all them.

Pre match betting should be done on teams that are predictable, although cricket itself is unpredictable but, you still will have confidence on a team that has been consistently performing.

From the first match in this series they were struggling against a weak side, it is very risky to bet on such a team.
4616  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mobile wallet for newbies? on: November 03, 2020, 06:15:20 PM
My first android Bitcoin wallet was Mycelium wallet. In my opinion it has one of the best user interface and simple menu option for anyone to understand easily. I have used other Bitcoin wallets but this one for me is the best.

Another important aspect of this wallet is that you donot need to register or go through KYC and setting up pin or creating backup is not mandatory.

Although it is advisable to always create a backup and add an extra level of security to the wallet by adding a pin number.
4617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2020, 04:24:10 PM
Average performance by MI at the end of powerplay overs and also lost two wickets now spin is into the attack which is the key of SRH because in this time they can contain some runs with Mystery bowler called Rashid.

Today Mumbai Indians looked out of touch and they could not even score 150 runs on the board. None of their batsmen looked in any sort of form except
Pollard who scored 41 in just 25 balls. If he had failed to scored this, Mumbai Indians would have ended up on 100 or less.

Sunrisers Hyderabad should easily win this match from here and this will eliminate KKR out of the IPL.

Just now checked Google's probability score it states SRH has 91 percent chance of winning this match lol!

I never expected such a worst performance from team that has been holding the top point position in this IPL from day one. It is true if the Pollard had not scored his 41 then MI would have put on board the lowest total for this IPL season.

Not really. Most of them are very active in the global English boards and Gambling Discussion but have never participated in the discussions present here for a while, that's probably because their signature campaigns restricts them to post here or they aren't willing to get their feet in this local.

You are correct that yes there are many active members on the Gambling board and yes those campaigns do restrict them to be active on the local board.

But, you will find a lot of Newbies pretty active on the Bounty board. I am sure half of them are not aware of this board and I am planning to personally send them DM and invite them here.

P.S If you haven't joined our unofficial local telegram community still, feel free to do so : Bitcointalk (India)

Thanks, @Heisenberg_Hunter for the invite I have joined the group.
4620  Local / India / Re: WTF! with this board? on: November 03, 2020, 05:19:15 AM
Thanks,@Heisenberg_Hunter for explaining the situation and making me aware of the past. I know there are many Indians in this forum but most of them are avoiding this board.

One reason might be that they are not comfortable with English.
The second is that there are very few ANN threads here.

As @akram143 mentioned
Quote
solution to increase the activity into our board is to create more interesting and useful threads here which can lure people to be active here

I am planning to start a topic where I will adding weekly news related to cryptocurrency in India. This might boost the confidence of Indians in this forum who are uncertain about its future in our country.

Let's see if it works or not.
