481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coin Stats Alerts on: May 09, 2023, 10:43:47 PM
I never heard this CoinStats before, is this reliable in real-time price tracking?
Might there be occasional technical glitches or delays in data reporting that can affect the reliability of this price alert you've used?
Why not try another one?

This website CoinTracking.
Which is also available on mobile apps.

Anyway, AFAIK, any exchange has a real-time price alert, isn't it?
If yes, then it's good to use.
482  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance announced LN integration on: May 08, 2023, 11:35:50 PM
That's good news, I saw a thread suggesting an exchange to use when receiving Bitcoin from the signature campaign which I don't even hear that exchange before, and hard to trust.

This is a good step to combat the high fees and we hope all centralized exchanges will adopt a lightning network or people will blindly accept the high fees due to congestion.  But IMO, this is the reason why I hold my Bitcoin not to spend.  Cheesy

Might there be more centralized exchanges that adopt LN that previously announced support for Lightning Network, is will somebody check it?
Like Bitfinex, Bitstamp and etc.
483  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dont receive password reset email from freebitco on: May 08, 2023, 11:00:07 PM
Hi -

I know i havent changed password on freebitco. May be my account is hacked so i try resetting it but never get reset email. Can anybody help?

user: reetupandey75

Just follow what the above said, nothing can help you here except the Freebitco.in staff.

Try to search first in your email account and check your spam or junk folder/inbox.
Sometimes, password reset emails can end up in your spam or junk folder/inbox, and be sure to check these folders in your email account to see if the password reset email is there and make sure that you are entering the correct email address associated with your FreeBitco.in account if you've recently changed your email address, make sure you are entering the new one.
484  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your most effective crypto trading strategies? on: May 07, 2023, 11:59:36 PM
6: What advice do you have for new traders who are just starting out
(....)
There is a lot of advice or must TODO when you are just starting out. I can give you some importants;
Start small - try a small amount of capital to try your first few trades.
Practice on demo exchanges - there are some exchanges that got demo trading, which means you don't need real money.
Risk management - know the risk, know how much are you willing to lose, and know how much you will win on every trades, always set stop loss and price target.
Whatever your strategy is, don't forget the stop-loss.
Setting a stop-loss order can help limit potential losses by automatically selling a cryptocurrency if it drops below a certain price.  This can be a useful tool for managing risk and the last one is the DCA way of purchasing crypto.  This can help smooth out fluctuations in price and reduce the risk of investing all at once when the market is high.

Remember that there are no accurate strategies for trading and also no trading strategy is foolproof.
485  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign post quota on: May 07, 2023, 11:38:55 PM
It's very simple logic that didn't need to argue if you think you didn't reach the commitment of minimum post quota post per week then, don't participate signature campaign.  The post requirements vary for each manager who managed the signature campaign and their agreement with the company that they manage to promote here.

I tend to agree with other's opinions, the signature campaign isn't a job and yet we're lucky that we incentivized making such quality post.  If your posting habit per week ranges around 15-20 posts then don't join a signature campaign that has a requirement of more than that and yet you're lucky if there's a low minimum requirement post quota per week.  So don't ask it will be generalized this rule to all managers who managed signature campaigns.
486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best 2FA applications to use. Open source, free, secure. Better than Google's on: May 07, 2023, 11:17:29 PM
I never thought that there were open-source authenticators aside from Google auth which I usually heard and used.
It might be because I'm not a fan of using them and might this thread will be useful in the future and I bookmarked it, thank you for sharing this.

I've confused so I research a little bit about open-source authenticator and I think OP consider this too on the list.
It's freeOTP app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.fedorahosted.freeotp

It's an open-source app that can be used on Android and in iOS.
487  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: May 06, 2023, 11:59:17 PM

65K Last year record price ever !

I think this year it might be full 100K Final bullrun for the coin.
You're wrong, not last year, it was in 2021 and not $65k.
The highest recorded price for Bitcoin was around $64.978k on 11/11/2021 (I think you consider it as $65k, would you?), 2021 which is considered a new ATH and didn't break so far.

This year?  I doubt it will not.
We've expected Bitcoin to halve next year and the price will usually break another ATH would be after a year based on previous events.  So it might be in 2025 Bitcoin will possibly reach that amount considering another Bitcoin price ATH.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Fun Question Here] Where Would You Live As a Bitcoin Millionaire? on: May 06, 2023, 11:51:11 PM
Question are..
1. Would/will you leave your current place of residence(your country), and relocate to a place you think is better(another country), if your bitcoin investment pays off, making you a millionaire, or almost a millionaire?

2. Yes or No - what is your reason.?
IMO, I will not.
The reason could be, personal ties to our current community, which can be difficult to replicate elsewhere and also include strong relationships with my family, friends, or business partners, as well as a sense of belonging and familiarity with the local culture.

It might there's a heavy reason why your friend moved to the UK.
It could be, a better quality of life since they are already wealthy people or business opportunities, they may also move to places that offer better access to top-tier medical facilities or educational institutions which we know how good to live in the UK with the advanced technology but I don't think how a government treats the crypto like Bitcoin there.

490  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: New Scam Alert With the Use of ChatGPT on: May 05, 2023, 11:55:41 PM
I saw a lot of AI ads related stuff on my Facebook but since I didn't have an interest in that AI bot, I didn't click any because this was what I thought.  How can you make sure you've downloaded the right files?

So this isn't new for me, when there's hype, scammers will always have different strategies to deceive people and by using trending events or technologies like ChatGPT, scammers can make their messages more appealing and believable to potential victims.  People are more likely to click on a link or download a file if it seems to be related to something they are interested in or familiar with without verifying if that's true.

IMO, only naive people will always fall into the trap, we should be knowledgeable always.
491  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Are there any smartphones out there that are hard wallets too? on: May 05, 2023, 11:41:05 PM
. Your air-gapped device should never be connected to the internet, the risk of losing your funds when you connect it to the internet is surely always there.

Well yes obviously this is the correct answer if you want to know what would be the textbook solution to this question. If you however store such low amounts of bitcoin that it is not an option to buy a hardware wallet then this is still a good working solution. Remember that bitcoin was designed without hardware wallets in mind and has worked flawlessly for many years before hardware wallets.
I tend to agree, air-gapped and hardware weren't there before and AFAIK, the first Bitcoin wallet was the Bitcoin core which was released in 2009 and then a hardware wallet came up in the year 2014 and that was a Trezor one.

For me, as long as it is a non-custodial wallet and I have full control of the private key considering I'm safe especially if that is only a small amount.  An electrum wallet would be fine.

However, to answer OP's question.
Have you heard SikurPhone?  It runs on a modified version of the Android operating system which you can use as an air-gapped wallet.
492  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: May 03, 2023, 11:30:19 PM
Well, I am leaving this campaign and this is my last post wearing the BestChange signature. I will remove it after this post.
Ohh, I've been surprised.  Really?
We've been here in a green family together for years but now you left us and found another one and I think IMO, you're the one BIG asset of this family who always supports Bestchange.

However, I respect whatever your decision is (leave the green family and accept the greenzone offer) and follow your own path and do what feels right for you.  Good luck!

On the other hand, I don't question the pay rate IMO, I personally didn't even reach the maximum weekly post quota which seems I feel guilty somehow.
Despite a busy schedule outside, there's no reason for me not to reach out with the 10 minimum requirements post weekly and I'm glad that Bestchange still counts me in until this 171 weeks since the start (day 1).
493  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which app or software to track gains and losses? on: May 02, 2023, 11:43:49 PM
Do you know of any application or software that does this by manually entering the purchase price and the amount of crypto purchased?
Here are what could be your best options.

Before I used Blockfolio but it seems they went down as of now, I can't find the site which I don't think what's the reason since I didn't have much active now in the crypto space.
494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maintain profitability in crypto trading on: May 02, 2023, 11:30:31 PM
HERE ARE SOME WAYS TO MAINTAIN PROFITABILITY IN CRYPTO TRADING:
1) Decrease your waste :
2) Conduct market research:
3) Increase your capital:
I don't think it will work like this, especially the number 2.
The market is unpredictable which means that the price of a particular cryptocurrency can fluctuate rapidly and unpredictably and how can you find accurate research, which means, you can't maintain profitability in crypto trading.

So IMO, you can't maintain it, just accept the reality that every now and then there's a high chance that your capital either small or big might easily to wipe out.  Crypto trading requires discipline, patience, and a long-term perspective to gain profit.
495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Darknet hackers are selling crypto accounts for as low as $30 a pop on: May 02, 2023, 11:20:53 PM
Those who bought the accounts were people who wanted to hide themselves from KYC verification or were from countries where exchanges banned them so they decided to buy other people's accounts that hackers sold. But I don't think it will be safe for the people buying those accounts because the exchange will check the account and there is a possibility that the exchange will ban it.
IMO, no one will buy, and no one will put themselves at risk of their fund by buying such an account.
Accounts that have been sold on the darknet are often fraudulent and can put buyers at risk of identity theft and potentially become a financial loss.

It might be if someone wants to buy, it could be a scammer too.
The reason could be used in fraudulent activities such as scamming other users on the same platform.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLYGON as a national currency. on: May 02, 2023, 10:59:07 PM
What steps can a country leader takes before adopting POLYGON as a means of payment or transactions in a country with low level of education. As it's known to be one of the best user friendly platform for easy transactions.
It could be an alternative way of payment and that's possible.

The adoption of MATIC by a government or a country leader could offer several benefits, such as faster and cheaper transactions, increased transparency, and improved security.  MATIC's scalability and interoperability features could make it an attractive option for governments that looking to improve their existing payment and transaction systems which top cryptocurrencies don't have.

However, speaking of low-level education, this is another story to discuss than the adoption.
The adoption of Polygon as a means of payment or transactions in a country with a low level of education would surely require such education and regulation for sure.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to stake your crypto currency on: May 01, 2023, 11:34:47 PM
In most custodian wallets like trust wallet staking is available for most crypto currencies including trx.is it better to stake such a coin or hodl it
The problem is, which exchange that you can potentially entrust your fund to hold long term?
You're entrusting your funds to a third-party which which means you're giving up control over your assets and relying on the exchange to properly secure and manage them.  If the exchange is hacked or goes bankrupt, you could lose your staked funds and any rewards earned.

In fact, as of now, custodial exchanges typically have strict rules and limitations on staking, such as minimum staking amounts and lockup periods.  This can limit your control over your staked assets and also custodial exchanges may also have restrictions on withdrawing your staked funds, which can be a disadvantage if you need to access your funds quickly.

IMO, it isn't that wise, remember the golden rule.  Not your keys, not your coins.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin thief who stole $5M worth of crypto sentenced to 4 years in prison on: May 01, 2023, 11:19:17 PM
I am glad to see this, as bitcoin related crimes have been a bit hard to prosecute.  This is something that we are dealing with quite a bit in the collectibles section.  We've had quite a few "rug pulls" where coin/wallet makers have ended up keeping private keys for these fancy paper wallets that we collect, and trying to go after them has been quite the task.  Hopefully more and more arrest like this will help set the framework for legal litigation moving forward.
I hope so IMO.
It's a reminder that even in the relatively unregulated world of crypto, theft is still a serious crime that can have severe consequences.
While the decentralized nature of Bitcoin may make it more difficult to track down and prosecute criminals because of abusing mixing services, law enforcement agencies are increasingly taking action to protect who is the victim of thieves and hold those who engage in illegal activities accountable.

Hopefully, this sentencing sends a message to would-be thieves that cryptocurrency theft isn't a victimless crime and that the risks outweigh the potential rewards.  But four years imprisonment seems not enough for me, the money should return to the owner too.
499  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ledger Order Help on: May 01, 2023, 11:04:55 PM
I think all your questions were already answered above.
If you're still uncertain, you can reach out to Ledger's customer support for further clarification because most people here will share only their experience.

Here are the links where you can reach them out.

Just make sure you purchase from the legitimate resellers showed the link above.
500  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Importing trustwallet to Electrum advisable? on: April 30, 2023, 11:41:43 PM
If TrustWallet doesn't have the capability to sign messages, you can import your TrustWallet seed into Electrum, which will allow you to sign a message with that address.
Trustwallet can not sign a message. If comparing Trustwallet with other bitcoin wallets, it is one of the worst wallet that I know. Electrum desktop can sign a message, but mobile Electrum can not. Bluewallet can also sign a message.
I rather use the Mycelium wallet than the TrustWallet which you can easily use it using your phone.
This was what I thought before about Electrum, I thought I can able to sign message using my phone but they had a different interface compared to a desktop wallet.

Just a few days ago Trust wallet was found to contain a critical vulnerability which resulted in it generating private keys in an insecure manner, leading to funds being stolen.
link please? I still have some trust wallets that have about $1xxx in balance.
Is it a kind of physical attacks or is it a defect inside the wallet code.
I am active these days and I have not heard such news. Cry Undecided Undecided
It's a wise decision if you'll transfer your remaining balance quickly.
I think that the news above said was similar to this.
