481  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: March 11, 2019, 01:31:00 PM
Using six Newpac's at default hashing rate of 22.8 g/hs each what would the recommended difficulty setting be for the pool?
160 or 768 or other?

With most modern pools its best to let the pool set that for you.
482  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Access denied to 'switchpool' command on Antminer on: March 09, 2019, 04:55:16 PM
Don't you have to add the switchpool command in the api-groups?

e.g.:

"api-groups" : "A:stats:pools:devs:summary:version:switchpool,P:switchpool",

if you are willing to pay those prices, I can sell you 5 of my S9's with PSU for half what the guys above are charging - say $1000 even per miner and even ship them for free at that price.

seriously guys!? 2500 each for an S9?

and then double serious, if you are wiling to pay that price, my offer of $1000 per unit stands - would need to use escrow, of course.

Check the date on those posts Cheesy

486  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: which switcher is good for miners on: February 20, 2019, 09:12:13 AM
100Mbit is fine for miners, you probably want a 16port switch.

If the cost is no different go for gigabits, but technically ASICs don't use that much bandwidth.

Brand wise,  any of the mid range brands like tp-link, dlink or Netgear would be fine.
487  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New buildout with buysolar has entered stage 2. on: February 19, 2019, 01:57:33 PM
Yup, looks like they are going to try and clear out all the inventory ready for the new stuff later in the year. Sell out completely as quickly as they can and then generate market anticipation conditions for the new releases.

Strangely you can't apply any of those coupons to your cart, only the $65 ones.

Whining at Kano is like yelling at the dice for not getting a double 6...

Which gamblers often do.

It looks that I have attracted a miner with 2 PH to this pool. I could share a screenshot of my PMs with this person if you could understand Russian. ))

Nice work Rabinovitch!
493  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: automation of setting up ur miners? on: February 05, 2019, 03:51:57 PM
Hi, i am not looking for a full complete management software like Awesome miner,   just a  "GUI version" for automation of setting up miners, anyway thanks for the advice !

If its for bitmain miners, then you can use their tools: https://shop.bitmain.com/support/download?product=Antminer%20Toolkit

Have a couple from me to mate,  Great review as always.
495  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [Antminer S9] Miner stops hashing - all stats freeze except LSTime on: January 29, 2019, 09:57:54 AM
I can say with certainty that this issue is power supply agnostic. I have 6000+ non Bitmain PSUs powering S9s and T9s and the issue happened with them as well.

Well that scuppers that theory Smiley

All my S9's are AB enabled, I'm seeing it sporadically in 3 of the machines. Although I have to say, even before AB I had to reboot S9's sporadically for one reason or another as well, for obv different reasons.

Sometimes it happens 5 minutes after rebooting, sometimes you it lasts for days.

Lets face it, these machines are all individual in the way they behave anyway, maybe some machines are more sensitive to the changes that AB makes to how it runs, perhaps more sensitive to changes in voltage or how the AB firmware tries to maintain hashrate at lower power levels.

Just had to reboot one 5 mins ago, it was up, web interface accessible, miner status show it online, but not updating Elapsed, RT or AVG numbers. Interestingly one board had stopped working and of course no hashrate on the pool, and nothing in the log, rebooted it and its hashing away again.

Also, as AB is something that needs to be coded at both the miner and the pool side, could it be pool related? I moved one to a different pool after it kept happening and its been stable for days now.
496  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [Antminer S9] Miner stops hashing - all stats freeze except LSTime on: January 28, 2019, 06:27:54 PM
How cold is it where the miners are? I'm seeing this sporadically on miners in very cold conditions, and it may be related more to the Bitmain PSU's than the miners themselves it seems.
497  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: EU Mining Farm under costruction on: January 15, 2019, 01:44:56 PM
Look first off, I wish you all the best in your endeavour, don't get me wrong I hope it works out for you. But you can't make money mining with the costs you posted. Also there are some flaws in your "facts" as you call them.

1) Doesn't matter if its the cheapest in Europe, I find it hard to believe anyone is mining in Europe anyway, either at home or at scale, its just been too expensive to mine here for over a year. The only time it was worth mining in Europe was when BTC went to the moon over 12 months ago. Now its a bloodbath. Anything over 6c/Kwh and its just not worth it.

2) VAT, this just isn't the case, your customers will have to pay VAT and duty to import miners to Bulgaria if buying from the supplier because the supplier is outside the EU (China for all the major suppliers). Yes if your customer has loads of equipment already that they plan to move to you then there will be no VAT or duty, but there will be crazy shipping and handling costs. Plus your company will be VAT registered so will have to charge VAT to anyone who is not VAT registered. Which will be a lot of the "smaller" or "home" miners. So the only time there will be no VAT on your services is if you are supplying to a large VAT registered entity.

3) No FPGA will mine bitcoin profitably, period, even including this idea makes you sound like either a scam or someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Hopefully the HVAC engineers are NOT installing AC, just ventilation.

I hope you take this in the spirit it is intended, constructive criticism, and I hope you have some decent network engineers working for you as one of the things that is a must for a hosting setup is a VPN infrastructure that lets your customers manage their miners directly.
498  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 08, 2019, 10:25:13 AM
Just wondering for clarification who handled the warranty repair of your miner? What was the issue if you don't mind sharing?

I posted the details in this very thread, the link to which I have included to save you hunting it down  Grin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2443327.msg45143937#msg45143937

All in all I purchased 5 T1's directly from Halong, all of them had failed boards of one type or another. At the end of the day I ended up with 4 working with all boards, and one that only has 2 boards that work.

By then they were all out of warranty, so the chances of getting the last one working with all boards is slim to none. And I'm hoping they soldier on for a bit longer.
499  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 07, 2019, 04:01:05 PM
Every claim submitted was properly fulfilled. I’m sure 99.5% or more of the customers monitoring this thread who did submit a claim will tell you that they are pleased with the after-sale service they received.

I can confirm that my faulty parts were fixed while under warranty.

2250/31500 normal  = 71.4 watts a th

1290/21500 low      = 59 watts a th

I would like to be able to put the new firmware on my 33/34th models

as the 58-61 watts a th is very nice

Thanks
