Of all the Altcoins I saw, this one is very well none sense to talk about. Onecoin in my country has a lot of victims that been cheated and deceived by the team of this coin. This is the original onecoin, this one actually HAS a blockchain. The Russian one is not even a crypto currency.

wait till v5 is out ( coming really soon now). With this version it does not matter if you have an Asic or GPU miner as there been some changes also to ensure you mining is in the same boat as asics Thanks So he's going to throttle asic miners somehow? Sounds like an idea that's going to sink the coin.

There has to be a bright spot to all this...well, I can go on vacation and anything I mine while i'm gone will HOdl automatically....yeah, not much of a bright spot.
ok, so can someone tell me how I avoid having to have multiple wallets on multiple machines in multiple locations? without mining to a pool that may or may not be there in a year when they can send me my coins? I'd like to keep this all on one wallet address (something which is not a problem now mining to the pools). Would it be possible to do this if I set up my own pool just for my machines? And if so, how in the world do I do that?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1383479.msg14073859#msg14073859Excellent thank you. I'll give this a shot. 4 machines have been dedicated to this setup to see if it is working correctly. No machine with 2.0 has found a block. Is anyone else doing this (multiple machines mining to the same wallet address using 2.0 and a .bat file to specify address and threads, machines are not on the same network) that can confirm it is working? I would love to know that I'm not wasting my time. Is it possible to change the RAM usage on a windows wallet, if so how?
If you missed it and don't feel like reading through the thread to use -miningaddress="address" and or optimize your miner see below 1. Make sure your wallet is closed 2. Make sure your Hodlcoin-qt.exe is on your Desktop 3. Bring up Run (Press [Window] + [R] on your keyboard) 4. Paste below in Run %userprofile%\Desktop\HOdlcoin-qt.exe -gen=1 -minermemory=2 -genproclimit=4 -miningaddress="address"*Note put your address in place of "address" like this "HEX8QLWqQ7p7MFNiN8CMrMjC2CYAy8pwi9" **Note minermemory should be "1" or "2" on windows any higher and you ger a Runtime error ***Note minermemory is the amount of Ram your using and must be multiplied by genproclimit to equal totale Threads you would like to use example (-minermemory=2 -genproclimit=4 is 8 Threads) That mingingaddress thing never worked for me, either way I tried it. With the quotes or without. Wasted about two days mining while experimenting with this. What I plan to do is what worked for me in the past. Open the wallet on the PC, go to console and type setgenerate true 8 or whatever amount of cores you want to use. Just use the same wallet.dat file on each pc and you're good.

I am new to bitcoin and my friend who uses bitcoins told me that it is better for new people to mine other coins what coins are best for new people and what coins are easiest to mine
Forget about easiest to mine and go for most profitable to mine. Then sell whatever your mining for bitcoin and hold your bitcoin. I think right now you want to be mining Ethereum. But don't take my word for it since I haven't used GPUs to mine now for a while.

I am not sure if this has been asked before but i see threads regarding bitcoins being used on illegal activities but i want a direct answer are they or they're not... cause the faith of crypto currency dpends on this... Not sure what about ISIS is illegal? As i understand that is a country inside few countries struggling to to be recognized as an independent state. Well the rape and murder of innocent civilians is a no no..

Bitshares is an interesting project. I find it odd that the Bitshares price has performed so poorly over the last year.
There was a dilution about a year and a half ago that provided devs funds to complete 2.0 but also caused huge inflation so massive dumping as vesting balances mature. This all ends this Nov 4th so hoping the downward pressure stops and BTS starts to climb back to where it should be, in the top 10.

tx 3596 is missing (3597 got a wrong number) might have to rework the whole numbering thing, the bugs are unending
Okay, shutting down the node and miner for now.

Problem is it HOdl's but doesn't earn interest. It'd be different it was handled like a 12 month treasury deposit. no that can't be right. it has to earn interest like a 12 month term deposit.

by my count just now, there is over 230K of quite dubious looking "anonymous" hash on the pools. and there has always been volume moving on the exchanges. ever since alcurex first listed the coin. so roll on next weekend. and let's hope we will be saying "au revoir" to those pool miners that have been unfairly mining and dumping HOdl - day in, and day out. - making us all depressed! and worried! grrrr Mining, selling, buying is how coins get into the hands of people that don't care to or have time to mine the coin themselves.

cool, upgraded to hodlcoin-2.0.0-win64-setup.exe Everything seems to work smooth, thanks guys Please explain this because I am new - I delete my old wallet then install the new wallet and overwrite the wallet.dat (then all is restored)? I have a lot of coins in fixed deposit. What happens if I just keep the V1 wallet - is that a problem? NEVER delete your wallet.dat. Its like throwing money into a fire. DO backup your wallet.dat on a different hard drive/USB whatever. For the upgrade just run the new executable. Now your updated. Easy peasy.

The question after all is - who will keep mining if you get paid in one year ?
HOdlers. Exactly the people we want mining and HOdling the coin. Lots of people were mining and HOdling . . . now it's going to be easier for them as the dumpers leave. This hodler wishes he was a dumper, I'd be able to make a clean break. Now I'm stuck in a coin where the dev makes critical changes on a whim using nutocracy as a cover for abdication of responsibility: "It was the hodlers that voted for it", "I'm just doing what the hodlers want". What's the next knee jerk decision going to be? You're credibility and integrity are lost. Sure the dumpers will leave but so will a lot of other miners, myself included. I stopped bying TDs when this nonsense started, I will stop mining at block 86000 and will liquidate my TDs as they mature and the coin is still alive. I don't expect it to survive the year. I was against changing anything.. so sad.. oh well. I may leave a pc or two hodling but the rest of my hash will go elsewhere.. On the positive side the change will create an interesting experiment. These new coins should be treated as experimental coins and anyone who doesn't treat them way is kinda naive. Especially this one with the 4000% interest at launch. I expected the price to tank and that's exactly what it did. Now this nutocracy thing and nutocratic voting are kinda cool. Maybe the price rebounds, maybe not. One thing is for sure, all those HODLed coins over 1,2,3,4,5,6.... etc month periods are maturing and just akin to be sold. Sure hope it goes back to 15K. Go HODL! moooooon!!!!

What that means?: Mempool: Reward status: Mined for this segment already. One segment is 50 blocks long. You need to wait for those 50 blocks to pass before mining is available again. The miner will resume automatically.
You need to make 50 transactions before mining will begin for the next segment. Check this post for the answer. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1525078.msg15399941#msg15399941

Here's another idea that has been suggested to me that may help to constrain the short term supply of HODL without changing the mining schedule -
This is all about short term supply? I don't understand your logic. Considering cutting the block reward for mining is a long term change, not short term. The effect of mining on supply is diminishing as TDs start to mature. maturing will saturate the supply until the bonus interest rates expire and supply growth stabilizes. If short term supply is the problem then cutting the block reward is not the solution. The real supply bomb explodes at about one year from inception when the first full year TDs at the highest interest rates begin maturing. If you're worried about oversupply that is what you should be focussed on. However, when I began investing in HOdl I took that into consideration, as should have everyone. I also took into consideration that with a large proportion of the total supply locked up the trade volume would be artificially constrained resulting in diffulty being acccepted by larger exchanges and a more volatile trading price. The bottom line for me is I object to changing any of the coin's specifications that were cast in stone, or any other knee jerk reactions to price fluctuations. I completely agree with everything you said.

Looks like the network is stuck. My wallet is on block 2,647,410 and block explorer reporting the same block 2647410 last seen 12 hours 22 minutes..
I opened my wallet and unlocked it to start staking but no blocks are being produced.
