1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VNL] Vanillacoin Beta Pre-Release on: December 18, 2014, 06:43:16 PM
I joined the testing earlier today. So far so good. I have 2 old laptops and my oc'ed i7. All 3 machines have found the same amount of blocks. Also tested sending coins between the computers. Everything seems to be working. Good job John!

Eagerly awaiting the launch in 11 or so hours.

I think I'll go look in the basement for any more old and working computers. I know there are some down there but they have cobwebs and shit. Maybe even bugs living in them. I wonder if they will fire up. Maybe literally. lol.. Better get the fire extinguisher ready.

I've been thinking, what stops someone from changing to source to use all cores of a processor instead of just one? If someone can get away with that then we could have a very skewed distribution.

Or gpu mining.  If source is released it will be done.

Hope that by then the initial distribution is fair and the coin is popular. The mining evolves from cpu to gpu and new players come on board. Its a good thing I think and a coin should be allowed to evolve like that. So long as we can make it a fair distribution at the beginning and the coin keeps gaining popularity the rest will take care of itself.

I'm looking for an old computer that still works. I think I have some old dual cores in the basement at work... but.. thats too far away.

Maybe we should be using the 32bit windows version instead?

John, I think you should forget about the low power cpu thing. It looks like its broken and by now most people have Core I5 or I7. I don't mind all this testing either.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VNL] Vanillacoin Beta Release on: December 15, 2014, 04:01:35 PM

Dafuq. This is annoying.
Who can garantee dev will not reset blockchain after few days?

Well he did say its a beta release. I guess he should have said testnet until it works then its realnet. I'm just going to assume we are in testnet.

Who is eldin hadzic and what it means?

It's the dev of this coin.  He's also launched another half dozen cryptonote coins that he was unable to maintain.

I thought that clown had given up but I guess not.

That is not me, my UserName is doctorbyte, i have no WIN-PC i used a 30days Windows 7 Ultimate :

TO THE WINDOWS USER THERE WOULD BE A NEW WALLET, i hope this fix the UPNP_AddPortMapping failed.

I have no issues with the windows wallet, so far so good.

1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GRCX - Gold Rush Coin - Backed by REAL Gold on: December 12, 2014, 09:40:27 PM
Another virus infected wallet?

I wonder how many got bit by this one.

Just looking at the ANN there was never any reason to bother with this in the first place.

I hope nobody lost anything other than the time it will take to clean their system.

This one is clean - no viruses in wallet... https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/a81a1d7af0bb5c8c77f51563854e87d2b18cbfaf52f22c46827d8792091e83aa/analysis/

1193  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsta - scammer, rootcoin - scam on: December 11, 2014, 02:10:46 PM
Slightly off topic, but have any of you "investors" put money into something legit? Like the Bitshares Music DAC? Just curious really. Since you have no problem gambling your money with internet nick names. The Bitshares boys are a good investment and have paid out in the past very well.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to take over a coin on: December 09, 2014, 09:11:54 PM
Here is a decent coin that was abandoned by the developer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=597006.0 (Black Dragon Coin)

It looks like someone/some team may have picked it up already. Maybe you can work with those guys.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: scrypt asics - what one have you ordered or using? on: December 09, 2014, 03:52:31 PM
I bought Titans and have to say I feel like my asshole is the size of a basket ball from being fucked so hard by the KnC boys. Greedy cocksuckers! I know that they put the Titan production on hold to get their data center built instead. And with our pre-order money to boot! NEVER AGAIN!

1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EXP1 - VIRTUAL REALITY! - Experience - VRMMO] on: December 09, 2014, 03:38:21 PM
9 days, 0 EXP1 sold, whats the problem here guys?

You have to ask, really? Altcoin IPOs/Crowdfunding are dead. The fact that you haven't sold any just proves that the IPOs that do sell are all bought by the coin devs. At least you haven't done that. I guess your not one of them scammers. I can say I would mine a coin you make, but do it: no IPO, no Premine, no Instamine etc... fair. Then again, there are so many coins that one could just choose an existing one to mine. So whats the point really? If you don't already have a viable product that brings something new to crypto, then don't waste your time.

Seems like the scam coin days are over. Only scammers and their sock puppets will say otherwise.

1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoindark, Litecoindark, Shitcoindark on: December 09, 2014, 02:56:23 PM
crypto is ruled by a certain lack of imagination... so Dark, Bit, Lite are a bit overused.
Some people thinks by using bit of names of successful, it will make their coin successful, I think it just make them looks like morons without imagination...

A quick some-up of DogecoinDark

DogecoinDark is the only crypto-currency untraceable/anonymous I can't comment on other coins dark/white/black/pink whatever!

While Bitcoin and alt coins users sync wallets over Clearnet and the Bitcoin nodes are on the Clearnet, so running the wallet from Clearnet nodes, but over Tor network, essentially does nothing (that's where uneducated guess might come from for fake "untraceable or anonymous").
DogecoinDark (DOGED) nodes on the other hand are binded to Tor itself, so when a wallet establishes a SOCKS connection to the dark nodes, the node doesn't know the users IP, only its own untraceable and anonymous if tor exit nodes are monitored, the only ip revealed is the node, not the user ;]

With the recent take down of 400 darknet TOR sites by the US authorities. I would have to say that TOR is compromised and we need a new encrypted protocol. I don't feel TOR is safe anymore. Perhaps it was never safe.

1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Zerovert - First Truly & Only Anonymous Coin with Zerocoin | Mandatory Upgrade ! on: December 09, 2014, 02:29:31 AM
Abandoned? Huh

Looks like a scam or just FUD spreading trolls?

I can't sync the new wallet. Stuck on block 3728.
1199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The questions BITBAY REFUSES TO ANSWER[BAY] on: December 08, 2014, 06:39:03 PM
I can understand people wanting to make money. But taking ICO risks on ANY altcoin with anonymous devs is just plain dumb.

And what the fuck is with this new shit IoT ?! Internet of Things! really, do you really believe that they will be putting a blockchain on everything out there? Cars, refrigerators, watches, phones, GPS units, on and on the list goes. Maybe the investors believe that others will be gullible and buy their shitcoins at a premium? NO! Then cry when things go sour. I have zero sympathy for these people.

1200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU only mining dead? on: December 06, 2014, 02:42:20 PM
CPU mining is long dead because of the botnets being used. but still i do hope that some could develop a cpu only coin which is resistant to botnets.

Momentum PoW is somewhat botnet resistant. Each thread uses 750Mb memory. So computers infected with malware will be unusably slow when mining this algo. It does nothing to prevent AWS instances. But thats fine in my book since someone is paying for those instead of using some poor slobs cpu cycles without his knowledge.

The coins that use this algo are Protoshare, Noirshares, umm... help me out here, I think there are one or two more.
