1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: December 05, 2014, 09:36:39 PM
Not yet....

Asics are unavoidable and should be embraced as a natural evolution of a coin. ... sad.

What makes you think so?

Your fighting a losing battle by continuing to change your algo over and over once an asic is able to mine. A successful coin will never be mined by GPU and CPU only because there is value to the coin. If there is value to something, someone will create a better way to mine it which in the end helps create network security.

This is the basis of crytpo and any coin fighting it will lose eventually.

1. ASIC is cryptoworld pathology

2. Let's see how in the end the network "security" of ASIC based coins will look like:

Nakamoto's nightmare.

Bullshit, anyone can buy ASICS just like anyone can buy GPUs.

Nice work BitSlapper, I'm going to try this out when I get home from work today.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPK] Sparkle - Proof of Work meets BitShares on: December 05, 2014, 06:05:02 PM
Still no Windows binaries? Someone must be able to compile these for us. Such sad, I want to play too.  Cry

1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BluntCoin X13 - NINJA launch GO GO GO!!! on: December 04, 2014, 09:31:07 PM
What are the blunt papers mentioned in the OP? What makes them better than regular papers?

Since they are made of tobacco leaves it makes good tasting cannabis taste like shit.

I like using the zigzag or rizzla ultra thin papers. Less paper is better!

DuBeU! I like the name of that coin. When sounded it phonetically it sounds like Doobie You! Yes, I would like a doobie to share with you, and a few pints of good beer to wash it down.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: December 04, 2014, 03:57:35 PM
I have been following this coin since quite a while, and everyone who is dumping should seriously think about whats happening right now... I took the time to create an account on bitcointalk just so I could post my opinion on Anoncoin and it's future: ANC is not dead! Let me assure you it is the complete opposite. You fools are just getting manipulated into selling before the real action begins! Take a look for yourself: https://coinplorer.com/ANC/Addresses/0/Top
These are the ''richest''ANC addresses.
I like to think that I see the bigger picture here, take a look at the top 3 richest holders.
number1 still has almost all his coins and hasn't sold a single one during the last spike and crash Wink
number2 hasnt sold a single coin, you heard me right! This guy is still holding 117k ANC.
number 3 also still has well over 100k coins.
Am I starting to make a point here? Take a look at a few more if you don't believe me: https://coinplorer.com/ANC/Addresses/AcB3RT2DPMmDhJJoGKrnZ2P7fiCbB3MbwM -
there are surprisingly many people stocking up while all the n00bs are selling cheap.
First of all it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get an idea who the richest 3 holders might be with over 100k coins Wink I have placed my bets Wink I believe when everyone is done selling their cheap coins, the price will recover and go to the moon!
Believe it or not All these people see the bigger picture, just imagine what would happen if bitcoin spikes and goes nuts again, Trust me ANC will also go up if that happens. I know it's not easy not to dump right now, but you NEED to start looking at the bigger picture! please correct me if im wrong, but I believe zerocoin is not the only thing this coin has to offer. In fact it is so Rare , thats what really interests me. The potential of going to the MOON! I believe the Devs know this and are taking advantage of the situation to stock up on even more coins. Time will tell if I am right... I also believe Zerocoin might still be coming , although thats a wild guess..
By the way Most people are still mining ANC. The pool I have been using is still growing.. How can ANC be dead if people are still mining it? Wink

Its a gamble and I think a good one. With the noob accounts FUDing this coin regularly, it clearly shows it has potential. Why else post daily other than to bring the price down so they can buy them up cheap. Sound reasoning as many people here have knee jerk reactions to these types of posts. I'm not selling, in fact I'm buying.

1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★ [PULSE] INNOVATION? What do you think of this new way of block generation? ★ on: December 04, 2014, 03:43:42 PM
Nice to see real innovation. I like it, however, as a miner I also like the regular pay outs.

Good luck with QB, I remember back when it was launched I was one of the first to mine. I had my coins on an exchange, trying to sell them, then the exchange disappeared  Cry. Oh well..
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did investing in crypto change your life? on: December 03, 2014, 06:26:56 PM
I discovered Bitcoin and altcoins over a year ago, now I have very little fiat.

1209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SendChat™ | Messaging App Integrated With Bitcoin & Sendcoin | www.sendchat.org on: December 02, 2014, 01:53:05 PM
I doubt this will take off. You guys are trying so hard to marry block chains with every little app out there when there is no reason for it.
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Crypto Currencies do people think will last? Apart from .... on: December 02, 2014, 01:28:07 PM
Apart from Bitcoin, Ripple, Quark, Dodgecoin, Litecoin, Mooncoin, Opal ..... Just wondering if anyone has any views? I'm just finding myself overwhelmed with the amount to chose from and knowing which ones are worth following more closely and understanding better to eventually invest in.

Add Bitshares, Next, Peercoin, Counterparty and Darkcoin.
1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Marinecoin MTC The first of its kind. on: December 02, 2014, 12:43:45 AM
I remember MarineCoin. Thought you guys disappeared?

Marinecoin is still strong, always will be, Marinecoin has the most dedicated patient community. They will reap the rewards of their investment sooner than later.
We will continue to prove our methods and approach is the most viable within the crypto domain.

1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPK] Sparkle - Proof of Work meets BitShares on: November 27, 2014, 07:40:02 PM
How many delegates (miners) do you plan to have? Will it be a hard limit or can anyone and everyone mine? Will the miners/delegates be voted in or will it be open to anyone to solve blocks?

Good to see the Bitshares toolkit being used.
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonimity in the Mini-Blockchain scheme on: November 25, 2014, 02:02:49 PM
This paper attempts to improve the mini-blockchain scheme and make it private and even more scalable. This is achieved by encrypting transaction amounts and accounts balances with homomorphic encryption, allowing it to perform addition and subtraction on encrypted values without revealing the plaintexts. Another aspect of this paper are ”expiration dates” on accounts so that users need to pay fees periodically to maintain their accounts. This way abandoned accounts are automatically pruned from the mini-blockchain.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B21vncLoIlIyaVpGVFN5c1VFdmM/view?usp=sharing

I took a look at the paper and most of it is over my head. Could this be implemented into Bitfreak's mini blockchain coin - Cryptonite? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713538.0

1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: October 2014. Are GPU rigs useless? on: November 24, 2014, 05:54:01 PM
I picked up some ASICS and replaced my GPU farm. I found that mining GPU coins was not profitable anymore. Unfortunately I will probably never see ROI on my ASICS. So I would have to say all mining is not profitable if you calculate equipment costs + electricity. I do it for speculation and hope. I hope the prices go up and I really hope the coins I'm mining and holding go to the moon.

I also believe this trend of low prices is only temporary and will pick up again in the next two years.
1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: AHS Coin-The coin of choice for high school entrepreneurs and miners on: November 21, 2014, 07:13:02 PM
Shadow!
Be nice. Smiley
If he's in tenth grade, we don't need to demoralize the poor kid on his first expedition.

Good luck with your launch!

I agree, but there is no chance of success.  Tongue

I wonder how many people thought that about Doge. Anything is possible.

Hey Dev, good luck!
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pre-announcement: SMLY - a smileycoin for rewards in education on: November 21, 2014, 07:06:59 PM
rpc poort?

You don't need to know this. All you have to do is add a line to the smileycoin.conf file:
rpcport=30000

Choose a port number up to 65534, high port numbers are safer since there is less likelihood of a conflict.

mine away!

Here is my .conf file

Code:
rpcuser=me
rpcpassword=mypassword123
server=1
daemon=1
listen=1
rpcport=30000
rpcallowip=192.168.2.*
rpcthreads=20

RPCthreads is only important if you have more than 5 miners pointed at the wallet.

Woohoo... 28% of the ICO is completed. Soon GROW will be with 100,000 BTC market cap. Grin

Yeap I may buy a bit more before it closes so i can round up my investment ..Shame I can't use the seeds here lol..   awe.. but I will wear the Tshirt.. Hubby said let's move to the Netherlands heehehhehee.. Smiley Smiley

You can use the seeds. Just setup a closet grow or a cabinet grow.

This guy used an old fridge. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=291230

1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a first for a Crypto Currency? on: November 20, 2014, 09:08:13 PM
Okay, you guys finally convinced me to look at Guldencoin. First thing I check to see if its still mineable, yes, and that is a good thing. Second is the premine, OUCH!! sorry not touching this one. No interest in someone being the holder of 10% of all coins. As of this moment there are 154 million guldencoins that have been mined. The devs have 170 Million. So you see, its a more than 50% pre-mined at the moment.

The marketing team is clearly very good.
