If you would less read Wikipedia then you would know that Protoshares was a scam and how they fucked their investors with this Coin change, which is also a big con.

It was a new algo (momentum proof of work) there were no pools at start. Wallet mining only for the first week or two. Then YPool picked it up and made a cpu miner then a month or two later gpu miners came out. Distribution was very good. As for the last sentence of your post I don't really know what your trying to convey. The purpose of Protoshares was to transfer wealth to Bitshares from the very beginning. That's why everyone mined it hard. They knew the value of what Daniel and his team were working on. Everyone who held for the snapshot made a killing. The cool thing was that they still kept their Protoshares and they retained some value. Along with their share of Bitshares. I think maybe you missed the boat. |

I look at every new coin launch with skepticism.
Why would any company launch a coin on bitcoin talk? They likely wouldn't. Why would any company that sells its goods in fiat make an alt coin? They likely wouldn't. Anyone who participates in these questionable altcoins is either a noob, stupid, greedy and stupid or they know its a scam and is trying to make money of the stupid greedy people.

how will beacon distribution work. what is to stop ppl setting up a nodes and gaming system.

Beacon distribution will be initiated when enough users meet a specific stake threshold in a geographic area, it will unlock a geographic faucet. Anyone who is within range of the faucet and has the Nano client running will receive Nanocoins. Faucets will be open for three days and will not be allowed to be reopened in that geographic area until a threshold of faucets have been opened in other areas around the world to ensure wide distribution. This is very different than the standard Airdrop, 1. Its focus is on wide and diverse distribution, 2. It is handled in a decentralized way and initiated by the community, 3. It demonstrates many of the features in the proprietary Nano wallet. Brilliant! I love it. So now I'm interested in this coin again. The though of having to the faucet thing manually was dreadful. I would not have participated if that was the case. As most people don't have time to keep going back to the faucet site and getting coins. But you guys seem to have fixed that. WOW! great idea and I hope this method of distro works out. So we need coins to stake, either buy them or mine them.. okay I'm good with that. The only thing that I disagree with is the 5 days "grace" of mining .0001 is completely useless. |

Does anyone else think the 2+ million coin instamine in the first 48 hours is a disgrace to everything crypto is supposed to stand for?
The darkcoin fanboys don't seem to think it's a problem. They're quick to point out that the project needed funding, but the official explanation is that the instamine was an accident. Seems like a fraudulent way of going about funding a project.
Is darkcoin a good buy, or is the project doomed because of the shady start?

We apologize for the delay, however all of us here at Nanocoin strongly agree that is it better to launch with a solid foundation than rush onto the scene with a half baked project like so many others. We have been hard at work developing something beyond your run-of-the-mill altcoin. Sounds like you are on the right path. Just take your time and release it when its ready. A few posts back you guys had the intention of releasing a blackcoin fork so that we can start mining. Will this still happen or do you plan to go directly to nanocoin non qt at launch? When do you think we will be able to start mining? A one week countdown would be a good thing. Don't ninja launch the mining part. |

Anyone know what happened to the KNC forums? I want to download the 2.0 firmware for the Titan but can't anymore.
under the news section of this new web site by knc they pretty much state the only support will be via email now it seems from what i understand they do not answer questions from their main voice phone .or so folks have said in bitcointalk here is the github link to the titan stuff incl v2.00 (which imho is probably their final version from what it looks like support wise..hope i'm wrong) https://github.com/KnCMiner/titan/releasesjees no support and they still have equip to ship Thanks dude. |
