481  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: January 13, 2024, 11:09:32 AM
Today is exactly four years since Best_Change started a subscription campaign on this forum.
We wish this company and the BestChange aggregator success in business, prosperity, and a long existence on our forum.
Thanks for the good management!
How time flies, indeed. Four years, wow! I didn't enrol then till a few years later but I followed part of the drama and forum politics then and how certain quarters thought this campaign wouldn't last because of what they felt was an unrealistic high pay rate. Maybe the pioneer participants who are still with the green family can furnish us with what the heart beat was like then belonging to what is now one of the most prestigious campaigns in the forum.

Happy 4th Anniversary, Green Fam!
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Anyone accelerate my stuck transaction on: January 13, 2024, 10:35:54 AM
OP's transaction was confirmed 11 hours ago. My estimate was spot on.
You tried in that case, as in many other cases. I'm wondering if you processed it yourself 😏

Joking apart, it's high time something was done to end this needless congestion so we can go back to enjoying the near seamless transaction executions Bitcoin was once known for. This day, it's frustrating making payment with Bitcoin; especially small amounts.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approved, next Ethereum ETF? on: January 13, 2024, 08:01:47 AM
In fact it has a capability of doing more wrong than good in my opinion.  It serves as a way for the average person to lazily 'purchase' Bitcoin which puts actually owning Bitcoin the real way as a second option on the list.  Of course some body with little knowledge will reach their hands toward a more comfortable and 'legitimate' way first than go through the hurdle of learning how Bitcoin actually works.
If we follow your logic there, that's suggestive that everyone who uses fiat should know how fiat is minted before using it. Isn't it? Well, I don't think I've to know the minting process of cash before using it and I believe it's the same way with Bitcoin. What should matter to all of us Bitcoin fans is that Bitcoin is getting spread over and more people are beginning to us it, whether they understand the underlying tech or not.

There's a good chance of an Ethereum ETF, but I think it'll be a slippery slope: from the ICO frauds of the past, Ethereum Foundation/Consensys dumping ETH pretty much every few months, etc.
I think the market has gone past that sad memory of ICO frauds and moved on if we want to put in perspective the return of airdrops and app mining that have now become almost a trend. We know how airdrops dominated this industry in the past just like ICOs and were claimed through ETH ERC. If they can come back now and people are already chasing it and cashing out from it, I don't think the sins of ICOs will be a big deal not be forgiven too.

Almost most of us cannot post here ----> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=87.0
One can understand why certain ranks can't post in Serious Discussion. The reason isn't far fetched as it's in the text to show a level of seriousness to issues discussed. It takes conciseness and in-depth knowledge to address serious issues and these have to do with members exposure to those types of issues, without which nothing of benefit will be derived from such engagements. However, I don't know why Important Announcements you mentioned is put under such situation too and members can't respond there. Why can't members reply or react to announcements? Do you know?
485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs; a new boat for spammers to jump on. on: January 13, 2024, 06:23:51 AM
By getting knowledge first before contributing, you are helping the forum.
You're right on that. However, you also need to factor in the happenstance that there's News and there's News Analysis. This is why an issue lingers on after it has broken as news. Analyses of a broken news stay longer and in most cases get more people into the news. Yes, getting the right knowledge on an issue is the best way to further develop the story but then we also need to acknowledge the place of "asking questions" in all that. Those who don't know anything about the issue still can contribute by interrogating the issue, instead of being mute. It helps a lot.
486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Drop to Zero? on: January 12, 2024, 01:28:07 PM
And what's the different between theoritical and practical drop to zero for BTC?
To the best I can explain this – theoretical is idealism while practical is realism/reality.

Quote
Can the price theoritically drop to zero but practically trade above $40k. Kinda confusing.
If you believe in practicals you won't be bothered with naysayers, honestly. If I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have make some school boy errors I made in the past by adhering to what supposed "crypto experts" and influencers said. So, the question to the exwhile deputy should've been what would make Bitcoin go down that abysmally to zero. For me, without anything concrete from these naysayers as evidence they will just be wasting their time attempting to blink in a dark tunnel.
487  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC transactions unconfirmed for nearly 2 months. Can't find help. on: January 12, 2024, 11:35:51 AM
Here are the Hash ID's....Any way someone could help find a solution? Will pay if someone could boost or mine it for me, not sure how that works.
Basically, there's nothing much anyone can do except to keep on rebroadcasting it for you. You can check the Service Section for a user who provides such services, of you're interested. I'm also in the same situation. Well, mine could be different as I ain't stressed out to the point of getting worried. It's now weeks since mine got stuck too and I'm not even going to try an RBF on it. Whenever it feels ok to scale through let it go. This transaction thing has become the bane of Bitcoin gradually and it's making people check other alternatives in LTC and stablecoins. It's really worrisome.

And if change the password of the wallet then the owner would not have access to it but since he has not changed it both nof them can use it...
Passwords are only useful on a device a wallet is on. Once the passphrases are imported on another device, whether it's passworded by the original owner or not the new owner can assess the wallet. The main thing when it comes to wallets is the passphrase. Once a criminal gets a hold of the passphrase, it's gone. They become the new owner.
489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scams flourish most during bull runs. on: January 12, 2024, 02:33:23 AM
Traders don't control the market so no trader can guarantee you an unbelievable profit. They can't deliver those juicy offers they offer.
I love that part. It's the nutshell in your post. I've always maintained that too. It's sad that many people don't think of investment from that angle. They think some other dudes can preempt or determine the market to give them certain ROIs. No one can determine what the market does. We're at best speculators and the market is the master. The earlier people know that, the better for them.

I know this topic might have been discussed a couple of times on the forum but I just want to emphasize it because of the trend I've been seeing on social media. I have been seeing a lot of crypto influencers advertising shit coins and other crypto projects. Even influencers who know nothing about crypto advertise crypto projects.
Like someone said, the bull season is a time for bullshit 😏. We've to expect all manners of nonsense and worthless projects coming to the market now than they did a few months ago, and many more will come a few months from now. It's the pattern every circle.

I’m willing to give a generous tip!
Perhaps you need a service like what this user  is running on FREE/PAY BITCOIN TRANSACTION ACCELERATOR. You may want to post in his corner.

By the way, you paid 27 sats/vbyte for that transaction whose cost should've been 44 sats/vbyte. Come to think of it, your transaction is just 48 hours not confirmed yet. That shouldn't bother you that much, even. Various members here have unconfirmed transactions that have run into weeks.
492  Other / Meta / Re: Why do some campaign members posting essay? on: January 09, 2024, 06:20:12 PM
While I still maintain it's not a "Stakes" specific problem with "epistles" as replies from users in that campaign as many are alluding, I admit that I've also run into users who aren't on that campaign writing epistles as posts. Some aren't even in any campaigns, yet they write in such a manner. I guess it's a writing technique for people who write that way. For me it's boring reading through such lengthy posts, especially the one whose link is quoted here. Brevity should be top most on the minds of users. We shouldn't bore the community with verbosity.
493  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 09, 2024, 05:26:46 PM
Also, psychologically I am done with trading since the lost, I was great at it but one drunk night got me bad lol.
From your post here, it seems you're loaded and that $25k set aside isn't much of a big deal to you if you lose it. Anyway, my suggestion to you will be to half it and put one part of it on Bitcoin. That's a conservative way to make profit. However, if you want to be more daring to achieve the ROI you stated in your OP, then it means you've to get into altcoin investment and leverage on futures. Sadly, since you said you're done with trading; it leaves you with just one option and that's going for penny cryptos with low caps and little supply before they're listed on popular coin sites like Coingecko and CMC.

Quote
Don't drink and trade folks.
Don't get drunk and do anything, apart from sleeping. That warning shouldn't be just for trading alone. There's a reason medics advise patients on medication not to take drugs that make them dizzy if they must hit the road, driving themselves.
494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyway to be smart about this? on: January 09, 2024, 03:58:59 PM
There was a recent vulnerability with Web3 apps, metamask including some Hardware wallets which might have led to this downfall of your friend.
That's some scary stuff there. So, we've more than safekeeping our seedphrases to grapple with now and into worrying our already stressed minds about vulnerability that's outside our control. To even think that Metamask was immuned to vulnerable attacks now leaves a panic situation at hand. I thought it's clicking on unverified links that can expose one's wallet. Doing that would be left in the hands of the wallet owner but to be told that it can come down to a situation other than that is really heartbreaking. Notably, as we approach bull rally, cases of this type will continue to overwhelm the crypto space. It's sad.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: Habits that can lead to your financial failure in 2024 on: January 09, 2024, 02:28:05 PM
,👉Fear of leaving your comfort zone
Even those who don't have any comfort zone still find it difficult leaving their poverty and lack stricken environment for the fear of leaving their perceived friends and relatives. I've come to realize that anything we do in life with fear in mind doesn't flourish. Fear is a weapon, a negative weapon at that.

Quote
👉Fear of failure
Anyone who's ever afraid of failure will always depend on what opinion people have of them to form their decision. If we've to count anyone who ever invented anything we will find out that they didn't win at their first attempt. There must have been series of failures before they succeeded.

Quote
👉Looking for easy means to gather wealth
Those into Ponzi schemes will understand  this better.
496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 09, 2024, 01:09:01 PM
With the current performance of Bitcoins, should we say that the Bitcoin bull run has begun or we should expect the real bull run  after the halving as usual.
I think everyone should act like the bull run has begun already. A few months ago, in late 2023, I advised someone to invest in Bitcoin and hodl. For me, it was at that point I started suspecting the bull could've started. On hindsight, it's clearer now that it was around that price level the rebound started. Consequently, the person I advised never made the move to buy then. I'm sure he's going to regret it big time when the post halving effect begins. It's often massive. Those of you witnessing it for the first will surely be perplexed when it begins. As for those who like waiting for others to buy first before they buy, you're more likely to miss the rally.
497  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie, be careful of the Bitcoin information you process on: January 09, 2024, 11:56:43 AM
Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
It's either one is informed or deformed. That's a popular axiom out there. Those who put such up forget that one can still be informed but wrongly so (through misinformation). Not every information should be taken as truth. It doesn't matter the calibre of who is dishing the information. What should matter is the texture of information passed. Our various ranks here shouldn't be a prerequisite to guage our knowledge on all issues. Some of us are topic specific, especially given to our various fields of study and that's outside this forum. Anyone seeking to learn and be a better version of who they're before coming to this forum should verify all things said here. The only way to verify is search and research.
498  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 09, 2024, 08:07:11 AM
There is no sticky rule, but yesterday I gave @aantonop some merits even though I know he may not return, but he may come back one day and see that some people sent him some merits and decide to continue posting here.
That's another angle to encouraging inactive posters to become active. Once they visit and find out that even in their absence there were those who thought their posts meaningful and worthy to be merited, they're more likely to feel missed and important. This conception will encourage them to stage a come back. I think so.

Quote
If you are not a merit source, try to be wise in distributing your merits, especially if your local board needs them, but no one prevents you from spending them however you want.
You're one of the local board advocates I know of here. I like that zeal and urge you to keep it up. The LB is a microcosm of the entire forum. Everything big starts small, just like the family being the smallest unit of socialization. Keep it up, HB.

Accounts with red tags that have contributed something meaningful to the forum deserved merits.
Well, the only red tagged accounts I can merit are those who got tagged based on controversies which aren't related to scam. Once it's a scam related issue, frankly writing I find it very difficult meriting such posts even if others find them merit worthy.
499  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is just happened on the Bitcoin Market? on: January 09, 2024, 06:48:50 AM
Which one could be reason of such movement?
These momentary dips that don't last a day or two shouldn't be anything anyone will worry their head on. It's normal. Investors take profit from time to time. It's not a big deal. Many of us who hodl a sizeable proportion of various alts also do what Bitcoin whales do. So, we should know the game and not feel shocked when such happens. For me, I think it's neither of all the factors you listed that caused that dip. Ok, now that it's back to $46k+ what do we attribute it to? Truth is that if there's manipulation, the evidence is a huge dump and not the momentary $2k-$3k dip.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if DEXs are banned in the future? on: January 08, 2024, 11:35:52 PM
But what if governments decide to hunt down the developers of DEXs?
You think they aren't plotting that already? Come on, they're obviously at it (I would be shocked if they aren't). It's just that Dexs aren't easily manipulated like Cexs and that's why no evidence is showing yet. You think those politicians wielding enormous powers who've labelled this industry pro-money laundering aren't doing all they can to see how they can crack Dexs? But of course, they're.

Quote
What do you think will happen if DEXs are "banned" in the future? Will they die? Or will they still survive (despite the fact that most people will avoid them to prevent jail time or being fined)?
I don't think they will die off if that happens. What I think will happen is that people will find a way to adjust around it. Perhaps another tech or invention will be born out of it. You know what they say – Necessity is the mother of invention.
