1362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good way to help our children. on: May 26, 2023, 07:37:52 PM
Our children will not be as lucky as we are
What gave you that impression? Are you by chance thinking that the will be late to the party or what? That by the time they come of age and begin to buy Bitcoin that it will have spiralled out of reach? Anyway, I don't think so. Even if Bitcoin price becomes that high, I believe anyone who's buying several years from now will still make their profit.

Quote
...we have to help them to know about bitcoins on time so they can have some for themselves. We are lucky because we are of age to know and understand what bitcoin is at this time when the value of bitcoins is still expected to increase not like our children who have no idea and it may be too late for them to make any gain from bitcoin when they finally know about bitcoins if you leave them.
This is a typical African (Nigerian) mindset – acquiring wealth for their children unborn – as if doing that even guarantees and safeguards their children's future in anyway. In saner climes, people hardly reason that way. They just ensure that a conducive environment is created to ease human struggles and pave way for progress, and not amass wealth for their children unborn.

1363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My mistake was making my involvement with Bitcoin public on: May 26, 2023, 12:17:45 PM
If you are still planning to get into Bitcoin, don't post anything about it in family group chat or on your WhatsApp status, this was my biggest mistake.
That's apt! This should be a good advice to the introverts among us and those who like to keep a low profile. Regrettably, the extroverts and those who run Bitcoin businesses won't feel comfortable keeping mute about it and not constantly updating their status with claims to such. I do believe that everyone should guard whatever they do to earn money if divulging or exposing it won't make them more money. I, for one, I don't put up anything crypto related on my WhatsApp status. The only place I can do that is on my Telegram dp or on Twitter. I did a bit of irrational display on Facebook when I started because I was carried away in excitement. Now I know it defiles my privacy and I've stopped.

Talking about your uncle. Your response wasn't harsh. However, sometimes it's good to just ignore people like him with silence. As they say, nothing wins like success. Cancel all his insults with your success story. Hopefully you will achieve all that this coming bull run.
1364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I trade bitcoin? on: May 26, 2023, 11:28:29 AM
Friends, I have download different apps from forex trading and I use most of them trying to trades bitcoin but it seem too difficult and failing, forex indications and signals are not a match when compare to bitcoin so every buys or sells I end up close the market with red lines of loss. I want to know if there is a bitcoin trading apps, that's mainly for trading bitcoin? Like the blockchain but I need local apps or website links. Please assist with good response.
That's not true. You can start with the regular Spot trading before moving into Future trades which are volatile. Your first call should be to equip yourself with the rudimentary skill set for trading before diving into it. Have an intense practice and demo trade for a while before funding an exchange account. Here's a link to an app that can allow you have a feel of crypto demo trading. It's the Tabtrader. In case you use an android phone, you can download the Tabtrader on the Playstore.

for me trading forex or bitcoin is the same, I usually use the same indicators and the same techniques too, if you experience an analysis error, it's normal, try again at another opportunity.
It's the same thing with me. I don't know why those who are saying OP shouldn't use them are advising that way. Even when you open crypto trading platforms you will also get to find similar indis like what the Forex Trading platforms have. We've these indis on TabTrader, a popular crypto platform, and many others.

...the transaction of buyer will be confirmed before leaving...
~snipped~
The ongoing congestion in the Blockchain in the past few days (which is only beginning to clear up now) brought me back to this post of mine. We've seen how delayed transactions were and how frustrating the situation has been for all of us these passing days. I still have hanging transactions lingering for the past four days now. How will a regular business survive that? I believe OP must've tasted this bitter pill first hand too, except they reverted to fiat to curb such unsavoury situation. OP, how are you coping this period?
1366  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Please, let's stop painting Nigerians bad on BTT on: May 25, 2023, 07:07:42 AM

1367  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BetterCallRaul.it Domain Seized or Scammed on: May 24, 2023, 02:23:38 PM
OP, don't you think your action is spontaneous and preemptive, except you're directly affected by that? The manager should've been in a better position to accuse them of scam and I believe Royse777 is waiting for the deadline for the BetterCallRaul team to do the right thing to elapse before accusing them of such. Until then, let's hope all gets well again.

1369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was your biggest fear with starting in crypto? on: May 23, 2023, 06:55:42 PM
Genuinely want to know what prevents your friends/gf/ colleagues from investing? Did you have any barriers when you first started?
Mine was technical barrier when I started but I think my curiosity and urgency to learn helped me navigate some of that. I admit it hasn't been easy even till now. For my friends and those I try introducing to this game, theirs is more of fear than technical hurdles. Fear that Bitcoin is a scam and that they could easily be swindled. It used to astound me why they didn't want to give it a try first without sounding unnecessarily scared from bad press. Scam is everywhere in every sector of human endeavours. That's what I always tell them.

I think he doesnt own only the 10k bitcoin. Probably he did have some more during that time thats why he sold off bitcoin and no one ever have the idea that bitcoin would be a lots of worth before.
There's a saying where I come from that making more money doesn't get anyone tired. Even if he did have more of that in triple or raised to the power of ten, in gravitas I'm not sure he would've risked that much if he had an idea what Bitcoin would be worth a decade later. I consolidate with the later part in your comment as quoted. Nonetheless, like it's argued in several quarters that action kick started the real Bitcoin transaction as we've it today. While someone like me sees it as a loss for Lazlo, I believe it's a plus for the industry as a whole. So, I like to conclude that it should be seen as a win–win for all since the dude in question didn't fall into depression because of that.
1371  Other / Meta / Re: Happy bitcoin pizza day to all forum members on: May 23, 2023, 02:20:25 PM
10,000 BTC could only be exchanged for just two pizzas. 13 years later, 1 BTC can get more than 10,000 pizzas. Though, I read somewhere Lazlo said he didn't regret his action when juxtaposed with the current Bitcoin high price. I just hope he meant it. Otherwise, I don't think such is easy not to be a regrettable action. I know he's getting mentioned every time Bitcoin marks its anniversary but that's a life changing amount of money there in today's world.

That picture has left me salivating. Should I fax a delivery address to you 🤪
1372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you still buying? on: May 23, 2023, 12:17:47 PM
This market is not favourable since 2021 till now like as of last two years that was a boom let's face the fact about...
2021 that you mentioned was also the period the boom happened. So, you can't say the market wasn't favourable. What we should all know or take cognizant of is that market price is about upward and downward movements.

Quote
bitcoin price has drastically reduced the number of buyers overtime, even most of you that have it before aren't buying more bitcoin recently because of the waving price dilemma.
People like me may not be buying now but that isn't because we're scared of buying. It's simply because we've run out of cash to stock up on DCA. If there's any better time to buy, it's now and this year. A pre-halving year for Bitcoin is full of promises. 2024 is the halving year. We shouldn't miss out on it now, except we want to chase price when it begins to soar. I'm not trying to FOMO here. Just trying to put out what I've observed over the years of being in this industry.

Believe me it will shock many people how the bull will react. Keep buying if trust bitcoin
Definitely, it will. Those who will regret it most are those who are here and reading all these things talked about but failed to utilize the information at their disposal.
1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: effect of a million bitcoins on: May 23, 2023, 11:37:52 AM
what will be the effect on network and different technical metrics, if anyone sent 1 millions bitcoins in 1 transaction (hypothetically for now because no one have even 2% in one wallet)
If a situation like that were ever going to be possible, I said ever going to be possible because there's no single wallet that hodls 1million BTC, it will only cause FUD in the market whose end product is dump. The good thing from such a situation will be that wealth will be recreated or redistributed. Every serious dump affords those who couldn't buy in at high to get in at low. That's how so many wallets get Bitcoin as against the few that hedl those quantities in the past.

No effect on the network at all, only I think if the sender is kind enough to set a very high fee for the miner's reward (as a billionaire) say 1000BTC for a single transaction, then it will probably be a record in bitcoin mining history using current price conversion.
I like records getting broken and history made. It will help widen our scope of discussion in this industry if that were ever going to be possible. Sadly, this won't happen.
1374  Other / Meta / Re: Dear moderator on: May 23, 2023, 10:21:15 AM
I request moderators and those who are in higher position to control this work
Your complaint would've been better situated if you mentioned the exact bounty or users you're referring to here by linking them up. Otherwise, no one is going to think you're serious.

I find it funny those guys who don't have the courage to face the situations they want to expose.
I wonder why they act that way, besides cowardice. That also makes their stories unbelievable to their disadvantage too even when they've credible complaints.
1375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Other Alternatives to Borrowing Money to Start Trading on: May 23, 2023, 09:46:49 AM
According to the individual, while they were considering loaning about $100-$200 (money they know they can pay back within a month) to start their trading, someone advised them against it.
I quite agree that's it's not a good idea to get a loan to fund trading. However, if the borrower has a mean to pay back that loan within a month, I would advise them to take the loan. It will fast track the trading process. I'm one who don't believe in keeping money in the bank while there's an investment to use it for. The idea of compounding $10 isn't a wise one, considering that the profit margin of such a small capital will be infinitesimal and may even take weeks of unnecessary stress trading to get up to $200. Given both scenarios, I will pick the loan option.
1376  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Alert] Someone sending emails "Donate to Bitcoin Forum" on: May 23, 2023, 08:06:31 AM
If you donate 10 BTC, you can get a special "Donator" title and a green "who's online" color. If you donate 50 BTC, you get VIP status and the ability to create a custom title for yourself.
This also shows laziness on the part of whoever sent out that mail as they couldn't edit it. It should be a mail from way back when donating 50 BTC would seem like giving out like 50 Dogecoin in today's world. In the present reality no one will dare ask anyone to donate ⅒ of such.

Quote
Main purpose is to alert everyone that there is someone attempting to asking for donation in bitcointalk's name.
Thanks for warning the community. I believe anyone who falls for such ploy isn't given to wisdom. However, how were they able to get email addresses of users here seeing that most users don't expose their emails. Could it be they did in the past or when they participated in bounties?

I haven't received any email. So, it seems the hacker is using the email list from 2015 hack.
I guess that's the case because I haven't received any too.
1377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to start bitcoin lifestyle. on: May 23, 2023, 06:38:59 AM
I don't investing any cash entering my hand even if bitcoin is going down or up, I still prefer it to others.
It's the safest way to think about crypto investment by my books and that's to put it in Bitcoin. Those who lose out of Bitcoin investment are the impatient short term investors. Even if one bought at ATH but one is patient to wait it out, it takes just four years later to get one back to profit. For instance, those who bought at $68k+ in 2021 will get the full benefit of their investment in the forthcoming bull rally expected to start in 2024/25. Definitely, this next ATH will be higher than $68k.
1378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 22, 2023, 06:46:02 PM
What's your thoughts on this?
The man was being smart by half and that's not good. He forgot that he must've disclosed his dreams and expectations of his business (Bitcoin) with his wife during the good time before the divorce saga and the wife had internalized it all. Now, let's see it from the point of it being an offline business; wouldn't he have declared it? Yes, we know the privacy thing when it comes to Bitcoin but we shouldn't see Bitcoin as a secret cult sort of a thing where no one should know what we're doing. Someone somehow there's that one person who has to know or have an idea that we're in this industry. I don't announce my hodlings to anyone else except wify. She's a partner in my progress and that's why.

Sometimes letting our wife's knows about our assets is somehow dangerous because you can't outsmart them, instead I prefer sharing with my children instead of wife. Don't quote me wrongly...
I just quoted you, howbeit not wrongly. I'm saving this in picture to send to your wify. You can't escape it. The only thing that can pacify me not to send it is taáti wraps of fufu and a big bowl of catfish peppersoup. Nothing less.
1379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you give one reason why I should buy bitcoin? on: May 22, 2023, 04:10:22 PM
I'm certainly not convinced about this information that he gave to me...I want better ideas and  enlightenment on why I should buy bitcoin.I need help please!
To start with, that friend of yours lied to you. There's no guarantee you can hit it big investing in Bitcoin, especially if you're the hasty and finger itchy type. Making it big in this industry with Bitcoin follows a process and that process is crowned with patience.

Judging by the date of your account registration here – November 19, 2021, I want to believe you shouldn't be regarded as a newbie and that your exposure to this industry should've bestowed on you a certain level of experience to know what actions to take or not. If you're still asking someone to convince you on Bitcoin after more than a year of being here then it means you haven't been reading forum posts. I encourage you be active here and read more.
1380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc price preeiction on: May 22, 2023, 12:43:54 PM
Btc price prediction 40,000$ top this year.
Then 11,000$ then start of bull run year 2024 up to 100,000$ +  bull run will end 2026- 2027
By that time 100k+ is Coming for sure.
With all these shenanigans happening with the blockchain these past few days, of congestion and unconfirmed transactions running everyone amok but price refusing to crash says a lot of what the bulls are doing. Ordinarily, one would be expecting that price would crash but that's not so. Price has continued to range between $25k to $29k. I don't see price going below that range once we get out of this blockchain congestion. So, your $11k prediction is not feasible. The $100k (even higher than that) is highly possible in the next bull run.
