I lost so much money in the last few months through buying stupid NFT's which are worth almost zero now, having ETH on Celsius which went bankrupt, and now losing the rest of my ETH, SOL on FTX... NEVER AGAIN! This is the day I convert my remaining crypto to Bitcoin!

Who are you quoting? because I am absolutely sure that isn't you!...

I'm pretty sure that's not Bob too, but even as a quote, it's worth some merit. If it can protect someone from falling into the NFT/shitcoin/Luna/Celsius/FTX trap, then that's something...

The market is at a decision point again. The market will be waiting for the Fed meeting tomorrow. Taking trades can be very risky. So it seems best to be patient and wait. The market seems to be open to manipulation again. That's why I don't think it will be easy to open a trade when there are so many risks. First up and then down or vice versa. In fact, it is supposed to be independent. But the market moves because of these decisions.

In my experience, one must be impatient before buying Bitcoin, and patient after buying Bitcoin. Doing it the other way around usually results in shitcoinery and suffering.

I tell people time and time again, I like alts for 1 reason. they get me more bitcoin.

Good for you, if this works for you.

My experience is very different. Every single person I know who got involved in altcoins ended up with less Bitcoin than they could have had if they had bought Bitcoin (and only Bitcoin) straight away.

My advice is to steer well clear of altcoins, buy Bitcoin and HoDL.

Bat-slapped? Rusty-piped?
Not understanding the bush?
Bitcoin fixes that!

Can fit in a single page.
And has changed the world!

LFC's $14k BTC price prediction = a great opportunity to stack more sats cheaply. Win-win.

Getting involved in DOGE and other shitcoins = having TradeView glued to your eyes 24/7. Exchanges win.

Worrying about VB's POW --> POS change = you're doing it wrong. Sell your mining gear and convert to BTC.

Lending your BTC to gain interest = delayed nocoinery: "not your keys, not your coins".

HoDLing BTC (+ DCA if you can) = the best, worry-free investment strategy.

This guy obv knows nothing about bitcoin. Sir, do you have $20,000,000 to do that? I bet if you actually had that amount of money you would much rather have 1000 bitcoin than have your millions devalue every day from inflation.

You copy/paste some guy's Twitter reply as your own?

Fuck off.

Another one I would recommend is Nightmare Alley (2021), by director Guillermo del Toro. Worth a watch.

I'll check it out, I wouldn't watch it from the initial premise so should be interesting to see if I like it.

I wouldn't have watched it either. I was pleasantly surprised.

A decent movie I saw last week at home was The Outfit with Mark Rylance. Worth a watch if you like the sort of Alfred Hitchcock stuff.

Seconded! Top-notch performance by Rylance, and a clever plot with twists & turns until the very end.

Edit:

Another one I would recommend is Nightmare Alley (2021), by director Guillermo del Toro. Worth a watch.

Cheekmate - a wireless haptic communication device

Anyone can be a crack chess champion!

For Bob and DIY'er

Good idea, but does it work with AA batteries? I wouldn't dare put a Li-ion battery up my bum. These things are nasty!

looks like @elwar had a bad day

$1.5 Million Floating Home Prototype Sinks Into The Water Just As It’s Unveiled.

Three floors, a landing pad for drones, a bunch of electronics - all this is in the houseboat. At first, everyone admired the unique idea, but as soon as the house left the pier, it immediately bent over and went to the bottom.

The SeaPod, builty by Panama-based technology company Ocean Builders, is meant to be a self-sustaining, eco-restorative home that floats above the waves.

source:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatLookedExpensive/comments/xwxlk8/15_million_floating_home_prototype_sinks_into_the/

I admire Elwar for his determination in pursuing his dreams, but, man, he should fire his "engineers" ASAP. This should not have happened. Hell, his old seastead was at least stable enough and habitable. If a failed pump could cause a SeaPod to sink, I wouldn't want to even be near it, let alone live in it in the middle of the ocean. The design should have been "open-loop stable", meaning that it should have been able to stay afloat and be stable, even on complete loss of power.

I think Elwar is a dreamer, but with poor technical/engineering skills, and thus easily being manipulated and persuaded into funding poorly designed projects. Even so, kudos to him for being brave enough to jump into deep water (literally).

Edit: OK, maybe spoke too soon... I just miss those vertical green dildo moments... Come on, Bitcoin!

Just in case people haven't heard, my Hulk-smashing Proof of Work website https://bitcoincleanup.com is live now. Spread the word if you want.

Nice.

A small typo I spotted while quickly browsing through it:

Quote
[...]

Greenpeace and other environment watchdogs are lobbying the US government to ban Proof of Work.

This is an action that does not have the support of a majority of the Bitcoin community, because nobody has even wrriten written a BIP for that.

proverb says. buy low sell high.

but do you know many out there are confused by this term.

I had to gulp down two beers while explaining in detail about that sentence.

Shit, i always bought when i was high  Shocked
So... did i do it wrong?

Just buy high and sell high, or just hodl and don't trade at all unless high

Just buy!

So, that said, here come some bad news:

[...]

Ouch! Sorry to hear that, OOM. I felt my heart almost missed a beat while reading your story. I can relate, as I also own expensive gear—fortunately no serious accidents so far. Can only remember the sensors getting dusty on windy days in the field, the glass getting smudged, etc., nothing worse than that.

Bitcoin can surely get you back to speed (and better), but maybe not just yet, or you could soon end up owning the most expensive photo gear in the world. HoDL on if you can, let the corn grow a bit more before you take the plunge.

Don't think about it too much (if you can). No one got hurt, and that's the important thing. The rest is replaceable.

maybe consider using shamir backup..

Thanks, always open for useful suggestions.
As the NANO-S is somewhat limited, i consider some upgrade in the future, but i had some doubts (not so much related to security) to buy a trezor in the past, but i am going to look into it again soon.

Just remember to use strong passphrase(s), but at the same time easy enough for you (but not others) to remember/recover. With overly complicated passphrases, complex memorization schemes, etc., you're running the risk of locking yourself out of your coins, and that won't be fun.
