Is there anything better than waking up in the morning, going to the toilet to take a good shit, switch on the smartphone and watch that green candle grow to break an old ATH in real time?!  Grin

EDIT: Short version: Good morning. ATH!!!

Hey man. Wanted to PM you, but it may interest others too. IIRC, you mentioned you're using Blockfolio (smartphone app). Do you recommend it (the Android version)? Is it stable and does it have reliable alerts? I don't want to add my actual portfolio (for security reasons), but just to easily check candlestick charts and have price alerts on the go. I currently use a Bitcoin widget, but it just shows the current price and no alerts... Also, does Blockfolio show ads, and if yes, is there an ad-free (paid) version? I hate buggy and/or ad-based apps. The OCD in me... Thx!

An Elon-style weekend pump would be great now.

ATH today?

Would be nice, but I think we'll have to wait until the stimulus checks clear.

Math & science man, math & science!

<3 Grin

So science says when the stimulus checks hit, we go 2x

I think we need to wait for the Llama Oracle to speak. We'll know very soon.

Grabs popcorn 🍿 for the daily ATH attempt  Grin

Better yet, grab them Flamin' Hot Cheetos, that can drill a hole in your stomach and make your poo red.

ATH will happen again today.

Regarding mindrust and the comments WOers occasionally make about him (including haikus & other poems, and bat-slappings too), I don't think they are meant as insulting or derogatory. Personally, I don't have anything against him. I've even merited him, and he has merited me here in WO. I think most of the references to him and his "mindrust action", are merely to warn others who may be inclined to do the same. They serve as a warning and a lesson to all of us to keep our cool and not flinch at times of big corrections. Because big corrections can happen, and will happen. If anything, mindrust is, perhaps without even knowing it, actively helping and protecting others from making the same mistake.

If he ever came back here in WO, I'd greet him warmly, and welcome his comments on his "mindrust action" and his current thinking about Bitcoin and the way forward. It would make an interesting discussion. Nothing at all against him on my side.

The double letters have to do with the pronunciation of the Vowel in front of them, if the wovel is short the consonant afterwords is (usually) doubled.

Yes, they are smaller units of measure. A kanna for example is 2,617 liters according to the rules of 1665.
1 kanna was divide in to (for fluids) 1/48 tunna (barrel) = 2 stop = 8 kvarter = 32 jungfrur (virgins) (also called ort).
The unit was also used in Germany https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanne_(Einheit)

And skäppa is also a measure (German Scheffel, English bushel) known from the bible "candle under a bushel"

Here's some more swedish units for you to meditate over.
1 Foder = 2 Pipa (pipe) =  4 Oxhuvud (oxenhead) = 6 Fat or åm (barrel) = 12 Halvfat (halfbarrel) = 24 Ankare (anchor) = 48 Halvankare (halfanchor) = 360 Kanna = 942,12 liter

The word kanna is by the way still used today but now it just means pitcher.

Thanks for that. Much appreciated! It's amazing how each country/culture/civilization has created different units based on their special needs and objects of reference.

Which leads us to a more pressing question:

How many tunnland of land does Bob own?  Cheesy

Well, since a tunnland and acre is about the same he has about the same amount in tunnland.

Yeah, I Googled it. Tunnland is known as a "Barrel of Land". Apparently, the name tunnland originates from the area of fields one could seed with a barrel of grain seeds. What an ingenious way to measure land!

But a hectare is a metric unit ... its 10,000 sq.m (100m x 100m)

Yes, but it's non-SI. And the name is just off...

Edit: Actually yes, you're right, strictly speaking, hectare should not be on my "acres..." list. I've never really used it, or ever heard it being used, so I immediately binned it with the other weird imperial units. But it is indeed a metric (albeit non-SI) unit.

Still, meters/metres and grams (and also liters/litres), together with their powers and multipliers are sufficient and clear IMHO. The imperial units are probably still used due to tradition and will likely die off in the future.

Acres, hectares, feet, pounds, ounces, gallons, furlongs, chains, barrels... What is wrong with you guys? Are you into BDSM?

Just use meters and grams. On their own, squared or cubed, and prefix with micro, milli, centi, kilo when needed. Simple. Easy.

And don't get me started on screw thread sizes. I had to 3D-print an imperial-sized nut the other day, which drove me crazy!

The Swedish unit of tunnland was officially surveyed and standardized in the 1630s, and set to 14,000 Swedish square ells, i.e. 56,000 Swedish square feet. One tunnland was divided into 56 kannland, 32 kappland, 6 skäppland or 2 lopsland. How is that hard to understand?

Edit: I wonder what tunn, kann, kapp, skäpp and lops mean. Must have to do with size I guess... And, are the double letters at the end necessary to join them with land? The OCD in me...

Just finished watching a shitty movie. Was so bad I just had to finish it to see "how low can it go?" Was made in Oz and called "I, Portrait". Save yourselves 1h 19m and skip this trash.

Back to observing corn, and I see we've had a Euro-ATH again (48,250.8 €, Kraken).

$60k by end of Friday? Possible.
$60k by end of weekend? Probable.
$60k by end of March. A certainty!

I like the smell of rain forest trees burning...

Onwards & upwards!

HoDL.

I see our ants are working hard...

I read somewhere that without ants the world would cease to exist. Now I see why.

Only 750 € for Euro-ATH.

Burn them trees!

For ants...

Haven't watched it, thanks!

EDIT: Just registered me and wifey for SARS-CoV2 Antibody test (happening in about three weeks). Hopefully we can circumvent vaccination and restrictions this way.

Had a strange cough last year in february, lasted 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for this comment. Never thought of not needing to be vaccinated due to contracting COVID-19 in January. My work position is "sensitive" and there are strict policies regarding our health matters (can't disclose more, sorry). If having contracted COVID-19 makes vaccination pointless, then I won't do it (if I can avoid it). Will need to check it out.

i dont think an infection that occured 1 year ago can save you a proper vaccination. a more recent one could, though.

You're referring to OOM's case. In my case it's not 1 year ago, but this year (January). 2+ months ago. Will try to delay getting vaccinated if I can. Will see...
