looks like going down a bit.
buy order set at $54.321.
I don't know, but somehow i don't want it to get filled this time.

I like the .321 part (also couples nicely with the 54). I used to put orders like this back in 2016. You could spot them easily in the order tables. I even used .314 and other important numbers like that.

No more orders for me now. In 100% HoDL mode, and soon (possible when we exceed $100k) switching to "dream-fulfillment" mode. One dream at a time. One of the first dreams will be a good mirrorless APS-C/full-frame camera and a couple of good lenses.

Have i mentioned the Canon EOS-M already? You can convert all of the Canon EF/s and EF lenses to it, on the downside it has a small body, just more uncomfy to shoot for longer times. I'd like to see a polyurethane body kit on the market or some extra grip that enlargens the body of this thing. A steadycam grip would be too much, i guess. Maybe Novoflex offers some compromise?

Good advice, thanks. I'm a Canon guy. Very old, but fully working body (20D) and a few lenses. Will check out the EOS-M. Had the feeling that Canon somehow started lagging behind other brands in recent years, but haven't been following the very latest models. Hopefully it has caught up.

Edit:

Just saw that you want a full-frame  Roll Eyes

Not necessarily. I will consider both APS-C and full-frame. There are some fine APS-C cameras out there. I'm liking the Fujifilm X-T4.

The storing of coins on third party platforms is too risky in my book.
Many of us here remember what happened at Mt.Gox and other shady platforms.
The model of obtaining interest on your BTC is unsustainable in a world where bitcoin has a finite supply.
Think about it, if everyone held all the coins in existence where are the new coins coming from to pay the interest?
The only way this works is if a form of fractional reserve lending takes place and then we are in the same boat we are scrambling to get out of.
Furthermore, these platforms go on to provide ammunition for shorters.
I think that there comes a point when people become too greedy. Why risk your precious BTC which is growing in value at an astronomical rate, for a measly single digit APR?

Exactly. This perfectly links to one of my earlier posts, in which I claimed that many "Bitcoin supporters" here in WO, and elsewhere, are fiat supporters in reality. They don't understand or care about the qualities of Bitcoin and its deeper purpose. All they really care about is milking it for fiat profit, by using the very tools and schemes (read fractional reserve lending) that Bitcoin is trying to kill (and it's winning). Greed is the main driving force in all this. It saddens me to see that many of the enemies of Bitcoin come from within its user base.

Not to worry though. Bitcoin has been designed to withstand such actions. Everyone is welcome to try anything. There are no restrictions. And everyone will face the consequences of their actions. It will be brutal.

These people who sell are always a step ahead. After 8 years of hodling I was ready to sell my first small amount BTC (not the one I bought Oct 2020) at $59444. And they knew many people will sell at 59k ish so they started the sell off at 57k  Roll Eyes Now I will rethink if I sell below $99k  Cool

How about don't sell at all. At these price levels, there are ways to make an income of 10s of thousands USD a month on your exsisting stash without selling. This applies to stashes under 10 BTC too. Life is good at these levels.

Fuck third-party custody, if you are considering or enticed by anything that involves that.

There are some concepts in bitcoin.. the real deal bitcoin, that incentives are built in, so bitcoin is already designed to increase in value.. .what the fuck more do you need, you greedy fucks (#nohomo) who may well be seriously considering placing your coins with some stupid-ass service trying to claim legitimacy and enticing you with supposed "passive income" .. blah blah blah..

Did I say, "fuck that?"  Don't be fucking trying to short-cut your BTC accumulation goals by thinking that you can "make money" using convoluted (surprise terms) contracts when if you accumulate adequately, then you will have way more options just living off the likely ongoing BTC price appreciation that has no real signs of stopping, even though it it is likely to continue to have up and down cycles along the way.. and you can take advantage of that in your long term planning and your refusal to take stupid-ass shortcuts that may well end up screwing you out of your coins by hook or by crook or just by bad luck (such as great price moves that liquidate you out of your supposed collateral that you were not able to adequately cover because you were to fucking busy gambling out of greed).

You will thank me later, even if you might not be able to measure what you are thanking me for, exactly...  Wink

I am wondering if there are many bitcoinaires in this thred. I suppose you wouldn't disclose it, but I bet there are already some and that there will be more as price rises.

There has been many boating accidents in this thread and many of us have lost the lot

Too right!

Not counting Kebabs.

"Not your keys, not your Bitcoin."

My coins are not getting out of my deep-freezing cold storage unless there's a really good reason to.

My current salary is more than enough to cover my living expenses, and even some fun part of life. For me, Bitcoin covers two things (in order of importance):

1. Psychological peace of mind that I can do/buy whatever I need, when I need it.
2. Funding my hobbies and fun side of life, without having to look at the price tag before buying the stuff I want.

Bitcoin value has just surpassed the level that enables the above to start happening. Why risk ownership of my Bitcoin, just to earn some interest, and paying it dearly by not being able to sleep at night, worrying if/when celsius.network will go south and take my coins with it? Bitcoin's main benefit is taking out the middleman between the owner and his wealth. Why would I want to add a middleman? Risking messing up something near-100% certain does not make any sense to me. There's no "free lunch" in this life.

"Not your keys, not your Bitcoin."

Edit: Corrected typo.

I texted him I have revised it to $260k

I hmm'd and haww'd on that recent BTC sale, to provide liquidity to start building immediately; I don't want to tap my existing accounts if I can avoid it, so I don't feel bad parting with low 2 digits of corn.

Maybe I'm thinking about it all wrong. Maybe I should drain the traditional fiat accounts, as it seems that selling corn, near term, beyond what I have already sodl'd, may not make sense, given the appreciation vs my traditional investment accounts.

Something for me to think about this weekend...

Nice problems to consider.

Wise words.

Just got a text from a good friend who I tried to get into Bitcoin by placing a 0.5 BTC paper wallet into his hands a while back.  His weak, baby-like hands sold at ~ USD $1100.  I tried to talk him into buying at around $2k to no avail.  We discussed again @ ~10k when he thought it was too late - I disagreed.

 his text:

"And I thought you were nuts with your $100k prediction.  Now, not so much... Cheesy"

I texted him I have revised it to $260k

 "Holy crapola"

They all go nuts. Some turn into Bitcoin haters. None reinvest. I guess it's just the nature of the beast. One has to have the correct brain wiring to understand and embrace it.

That's it. I'm spoiled.

Can't stand this stagnation, this lack of movement. Even the ants abandoned us?

I WANT NEED $58k now!  Cry

Just checked my cold storage and noticed that I've recently received two very tiny amounts on one of my addresses (same address for both). The last transaction to my wallet, apart from these two, happened more than one year ago...

What is this? Anyone noticed it too? Should I be worried?

Thanks.

Yes, they dusted one of my addresses too. They used 547 sats deposits and many addresses received the same amount.  When you check the tx in the explorer it says something about "use full power of anonymity" and blah blah.

I checked the "dont spend" in coin control tab in Electrum and forgot about it.

Yes, exactly. Same amount on mine too. I guess someone wanted to "mark" our addresses...

I haven't seen a "Don't Spend" option in Trezor. Will check it out. Thanks.

He just wants to turn us into memes for da lulz...

"But gold is scarce"

Quote from: abc.net
An Australian researcher says there is enough gold buried deep within the Earth's core to cover the entire land surface of the planet to a depth of half a metre.

Lol

There's no scarcity like hard-coded scarcity. Physical elements don't stand a chance.
