Pumpy

For ants...

Edit: who used the "for ants" phrase first? Was it Bob? This is so EPIC!  Grin

From what I know, this is the current breakdown for COVID-19 tests:

- Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test — The most accurate of all, slow, detects antigens (i.e., shows if you currently have the virus).
- Rapid Antigen (Ag) Test — Fast, less accurate, detects antigens (i.e., shows if you currently have the virus).
- Rapid Antibody (IgG/IgM) Test — Fast, less accurate, detects antibodies (i.e., shows if you have had the virus in the past).

Most frequently done is the Rapid Antigen (Ag) Test, for obvious reasons.

Bitstamp is offline (on my side at least)...

Mega-pump?

Edit: Came back again... Pump for ants. Still OK. Actually, the current price should make us all feel ecstatic, but we are far too desensitized to feel anything while we are under $100k. HoDLers...

EDIT: Just registered me and wifey for SARS-CoV2 Antibody test (happening in about three weeks). Hopefully we can circumvent vaccination and restrictions this way.

Had a strange cough last year in february, lasted 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for this comment. Never thought of not needing to be vaccinated due to contracting COVID-19 in January. My work position is "sensitive" and there are strict policies regarding our health matters (can't disclose more, sorry). If having contracted COVID-19 makes vaccination pointless, then I won't do it (if I can avoid it). Will need to check it out.

New ATH in €uroland  Cool
?
Not yet, still  about €300 to go...

EDIT: Which exchange do we reference for € again?

I believe (and suggest) Kraken.

Some here will say bad words about them, but, IMHO, Kraken is one of the most reputable and "ethical" exchanges out there, if the word "ethical" can ever apply to such type of business. I've never had any problems whatsoever with them, they even saved me from dumping some coins in the beginning of 2017, due to their servers stalling and not executing my order. Speaking of servers, they used to have (maybe still have) overloading issues, with their system slowing down to a halt, but other than that, they are fine, I trust them, I use them almost exclusively.

Kraken Euro-ATH currently stands at exactly 48,105.0 € (and it occurred about 1 hour ago).
1286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2021, 06:25:52 PM
Only 350 € to Euro-ATH (Kraken).

Come on, Bitcoin, you can do it.

Well... I did sold some today at 54,400$ that I brought from cold storage in a rush when I saw it going over 53K... But for now, I still keep placing orders. Tongue ... Not to be very bearish, but 41K is very possible if it happens in the next 7 days. And even 39K if it happens in the next 3 days. Smiley

But lower then that, Dunnooo man... 27K .... or lower.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes
That sounds like fairy tales. Buttttttttt....... Over 8-9 years of observing the price. I would not dismiss a 60% drop. Maybe flash crash at this point, because all sorts of sharks and raptors stand on a lookout for low hanging fruit. Tongue Tongue

Yeah... we really appreciate diptwats like you Save the RF.. Come out all bearish blah blah blah.. sold everything blah blah blah, price is going to $37k blah blah blah.. and when the price moves against your supposed story, then you make up some other shit to show that you did not get wreckt like you would have if you had followed your stupid-ass suggestion (not the first time that you switched stories), but if the price had moved in favor of your made-up story then you would have been telling us how retarded we had been for not having had sold like you did blah blah blah.

I doubt anyone here really believes your bullshit..

I think the bitcoin "its gotta go down sometime" doubters are going to change their minds when fiat hyperinflation takes off.

I don't mean to be talking about everyone even though I know that I was generalizing a bit of frustration with nocoiners, and surely there are some nocoiners who are coming around and starting to figure out various important aspects of bitcoin including its soundness of money, and sure BTC price movements can some times make these matters more complete, but also when there are more and more BIG names getting into bitcoin like Saylor and Musk and some of the others that have entered recently, other nocoiners will tend to learn from these guys who are saying similar things that many of us have been saying for 5 years or more... but the longer term rich come off as more credible when they had become rich in more traditional ways rather than some of us less famous and nouveau (less credible) rich (rich from bitcoin.. hahahahaha).

+1 WOsMerit.

When you see someone doing U-turns on what he did or didn't do, and also replying to every post prodding him for his stupidity, you just know he fucked up, and trying to feel better about himself. Just like most traders/gamblers. They tend to be arrogant when they're on a winning streak, thinking they're in control, until they realize they've been working for the house all along.

"This is the end result of all the bright lights and the comp trips, of all the champagne and free hotel suites and all the broads and all the booze. It’s all been arranged just for us to get your money. That’s the truth about Las Vegas. We’re the only winners. The players don’t stand a chance." — Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995)

$27k... Yeah, right.

Non-ant pump sensors firing...

Someone was waiting for $57k, no? Looks like it's coming very soon...

Oh wait! Was it $27k? Damn!

My workstation is wired up. I had to stick the cable on the sides of the wall, around it, all the way to the switch, so the cable is neatly in the corners or edges of the walls.

You're going to have to get a much longer cable (as it's not a direct line) and gently wrap it around the rooms, neatly. I also had to pick a white cable, so it blends in with the lighter colors of the walls. A bright blue, red, or black cable is going to stick out and contrast too much.

My house is all wired up. Wifi just doesnt't cut it. Though we moved the TV and associated equipment last year and the reverse WAP I set up just isn't cutting it. I'd have run a wire already but it means crawling under AC ducts in the crawlspace and that sucks.

One of the definite benefits of owning your own home.

All my desktop computers are also wired. I'm using high quality Cat 6 cable throughout the house. I specifically ordered it when we were building the house, and the installation is all inside the walls and invisible/unobtrusive. I max out to 100 MB/s (1 Gbps) anywhere in the house. I've tried Wi-Fi, and it works OK, but transfer rates and neither stable nor predictable, so I prefer a wired connection whenever I can have it. Laptops, printers and other devices of minor importance are all on Wi-Fi.

I've even used my 3D printer to print special cable corners, so that the cable is never bent below its recommended minimum bending radius.

Nothing beats the robustness, reliability, stability and security of a wired connection.

Sounds good...will be taken under consideration when building a custom "dream house".
The only question right now is: where?
Current thinking is to go bi-coastal (a combo of FL/WA-OR-CO; Caribbean/WA-OR or even FL/Canada (Vancouver?)...less likely is one house in US, one in Europe (London or something sunny, like Portugal).
Portugal has something good going with a golden visa, but learning Portuguese might be difficult (or not).

This is something that many of us WOers will seriously need to consider. And by the looks of it, this will need to happen sooner than some may have imagined. Bob is building a ranch, Jimbo is buying a lake (man, that sounds so cool), Elwar is into seasteading (not without its troubles, but still, he's pursuing his dream).

I'm also thinking of different possibilities. It's not easy to be rich. Sometimes not having a choice is much easier than having many choices and not being able to decide (although I'd take the second option anytime).

Yeah, I saw that too. Actually I don't think it can go in (on some countries at least―the WAN jack is smaller, only 4 pins)... That's why it's not shown pushed in... LOL!

I think you might be thinking of the DSL port. I still have a disused DSL modem somewhere. The feet melted to the surface it was sitting on.

Yes, that's the one I was thinking of. Maybe not fully accurate, by it's sometimes called WAN in the context of an xDSL modem/router.
1292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2021, 09:49:46 AM

Your fucking kidding me!... and they are plugging it into the WAN port not LAN port!

Yeah, I saw that too. Actually I don't think it can go in (on some countries at least―the jack is smaller, only 4 pins)... That's why it's not shown pushed in... LOL!

No, it will go in, but that is for NTD/NTU/Modems with Ethernet Hand Off...

But the subject said, here is how to make your internet without wifi... that’s how we connected before wifi!

EDIT: that does look like a wireless 4 port router, not a dsl router

Yes, I see your point, but the article should consider the configuration that is used by 99% of internet users, i.e., a xDSL modem/router, which has 1 WAN (phone line) port, which is only one and colored differently than the rest, and 4x LAN (Ethernet) ports, which are next to each other as a group of 4. See the photo. When one wants to "connect to the internet without Wi-Fi and get a speedier connection", they should connect their computers to one of the 4 LAN ports. The WAN port is always wired, whether one uses Wi-Fi (wireless) or Ethernet (wired).

That's the way I understand it at least...

Using the word "cryptocurrency" to describe Bitcoin is perfectly fine and fully correct. Bitcoin is indeed a cryptocurrency. There are many other cryptocurrencies (a.k.a. altcoins, shitcoins) which are not very much loved in these here parts. Let's not demonize the word just because it is used to also describe shitcoins.

Specifically to WO, since it is a Bitcoin-only thread, it is WO's unofficial netiquette to refrain from using the word "cryptocurrency" when referring to Bitcoin, which makes sense. Just simply call it Bitcoin. What I dislike in WO posts, is the general use of the word "crypto", in order to give credit to various shitcoins, usually of the big-block, propeller-head, or Shiba-Inu varieties. You know who you are, expect a bat-slapping and/or rusty pipe treatment. And rightly so.

In other news, Bitcoin seems to like the $50k club a lot, and doesn't want to leave... Number not go down, but number not go up either. Hopefully we'll see $60k in March, leaving $50k (a significant psychological number) behind for good, and clearing the way for the next significant psycho-number, which is $100k. Desensitized as most of us may have become, reaching that number will surely be a life-changing event for many of us. I'm pretty certain ("gut feeling has never failed me" and all—this is for Jay) that $100k will happen this year, and some even predict it will significantly exceed that. 2021 sure looks like it's going to be the best YTD for Bitcoin.

Onwards & upwards!

HoDL.

This such boring movement last couple of weeks.. WO - when $60k??

I see a SHS pattern in daily.
Probably "such boring" will be over soon.
Relax  Grin

a great man formula to get rid of "that such boring" is a meditation on the beach with 2 sexy girls around "lol"

I keep in my mind....soon >>"100k" Cool

I know a bit about meditation and all three on the photo are doing it wrong.
However, it's more important that you do it, not so much how you do it, but the chinese and yogi are quite strict with the traditional postures.

Yeah, especially the one in the blue top seems to be doing it "her own way", like she's waiting for something important... She even has her shoes ready, to run to the nearest HoDLer once Bitcoin reaches $100k. Nice.

$48k (40k €) is pretty much established.

$48k (40k €) is pretty much established.

2017's ATH was $20k (17k €). That's 2.4x in just over 3 years, and with a severe Bitcoin winter in between. Try to name any other investment that would have given you this much profit.

For Bitcoin to equal the yield of a normal bank savings account with 2% annual interest rate (rare these days) in the period between the ATH of 2017 (buying the top) and now, Bitcoin price would have to drop to just over $22k (18k €).

The above assumes one has "bought the top", right at the ATH of 2017 ("worst" point to buy ever in Bitcoin's history up to that point). Any other time would result in higher gains, orders of magnitude higher in the vast majority of cases. Banks/stonks don't stand a chance.

Just let this sink in.

Onwards & upwards.

HoDL.

Edit: Added paragraph, made statements stronger/clearer.

This space elevator discussion is very interesting. And it fits well within the Bitcoin WO topic.

See, all WOers are already aboard Elon's rocket and cruising through space tasting White Russians (not just the beverage). But, something has to be done for the nocoiners and the mindrusters down there. I don't see any other option for them, but a space elevator. OK, they won't be able to ever reach us, but going past geostationary orbit sure is better than nothing.

Now, kneel down and pray to Karhu, nocoiners, that Elon is going to build that damned elevator soon, or you're going to end up sitting your asses on Earth, watching our $1M WO party in 8K streaming and wondering "what if I HeDL?"
