501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reaper for litecoin mining on: July 08, 2012, 08:01:22 PM
What are the system specs of your pc that this reaper is being ran on?
It's being run on an MBP running win 7.CPU is a core i7 620M
8GB RAM
500GB HDD
GPU-Nvidia GeForce GT330M

My other PC is elsewhere for now so I can't get to it (in a different location)

Oh, I have no knowledge about macs. Sorry I could not help you Sad .
Thats ok.You did your best.I'm calling it a day for now until I can get access to my other PC as that usually works with any mining app and has a decent GPU in it (HD6950).

Perhaps you could also help me resolve an error that's stopping me form using reaper to gpu mine LTC.

What error is it spitting out?

Since none of the links seem to work,I get a App crash followed by a Ntdll.dll named as the fault module name. It's that kind of dialogue box where the app just freezes and then offers to send a report to microsoft to resolve the issue.

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/a/ntdlldll.htm
Thanks,I'll try that out.Since it's tied to this app,I'll need to re download it then run it again. Another issue is when it takes more than 2 mins to compile for my MBPs GPU (Nvidia GT330M).I'm using win 7 via bootcamp atm

Are you running any cpu or hdd intensive application? Might be bogging down the compilling.
Not running any CPU/HDD intensive app.I've closed cmd, deleted the .bin files and am rerunning reaper.Still taking its time for compiling.using the latest version of reaper (I think v13 beta 4). I may have to give up on that silly idea of mining LTC with GPU in the first place.Things worked fine (when it was bitcoin, litecoin and solidcoin in the reaper.config file for protocol order)

Update-The newest version of the app has eliminated this issue (the freezing anyway) as I didn't realise I was running an outdated version. The compiling issue still remains though if you defer from default settings and mine only litecoin instead of bitcoin, litecoin and solidcoin in the reaper.config file. I do want litecoin to be mined so I'm hoping it'll work.

Or here since the image isn't showing in my post:http://imagebay.us/images/izf78e7jtdlsukos0yn6.jpg

Edit:Got the image showing now (I think).Don't use image bay as their IMg code is useless for this board.
507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Upcoming-Dream Islands games (for newbies section) on: July 08, 2012, 05:32:02 PM
I've added a new method of entry. You can now enter the different games with Litecoins as well as Bitcoins. This is due to increased interest in the LTC currency recently.

If you like it,please tip me (LTC):Lh1LBVWhme9oFrSi6S3govX687YRkTB2Qq

I'll also need feedback with the LTC features so I can make sure that it works the way it should.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reaper v13 for MacOS on: July 08, 2012, 01:50:31 PM
I'd like a version of reaper that is a full GUI app for the Mac as the one I found just had files with no clear way to launch, other than Terminal which is ambiguous. It also claims that it can't find files when they were never moved (which are needed to run).

I'd like a version of reaper that is:
1.Full GUI
2.Works on a mac.
3.Self contained (make it an .app rather than expect the end user to pick up the pieces) so it's just a click and go experience-don't require me to use Terminal or click on a file I'm not sure about.
4.Actually works
5.Flexible so that I can use CPU only,GPU only or CPU+GPU modes for mining as well as enter my pool login details for LTC/SC (if I ever regain lost interest in that currency again).

This answers my question.Locking thread now.

I'm getting my laptop to mine LTC while mining BTC on my other PC (The one with the decent GPU in it) so that I can ensure that I can at least profit in 1 way or another (by diversifying my e-curency portfolio).I tried reaper gpu miner but it's always stuck on 'compiling kernel..this could take up to 2 minutes'. Any ideas why? I can CPU mine LTC on the laptop, just not GPU as well.Oh well. Are there other GPU miners for LTC?

Seems like Reaper could be optimized more and possibly made more user friendly.

Once this is done or another GPU mining setup for litecoin comes along is when the network has rate will grow much much larger. Until then this will be a bottleneck for some entering the market/network.

Yeah, tell me about it.It seems odd for those who struggle as they'll miss out (for a while then they'll be on par eventually) but can be very rewarding for those who are able to get their heads around it.Anyhow, are there other miners or is reaper my only choice for LTC mining? I tested out the latest beta.It doesn't work,it just shows a bunch of lines then quits again.Maybe I should try it on my PC (as it has the 'right' kinda GPU for it to run) when I get the chance.

512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LTC hash power question with my GPU on: July 06, 2012, 04:34:09 PM
I'm curious to kno if there's any idea on what kind of hashpower I should be expecting for my HD6950 gpu when mining LTC as I've heard of people who successfully run a gpu miner to mine LTC.I just got into LTC mining as well as BTC mining after finally getting and finding a suitable LTC miner that works on my mining/work rigs.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Smiley

Can this work wih Ozcoin as well?
514  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Where should my 5GH/s go? on: July 04, 2012, 05:21:14 PM
You could point that 5GH/s at ozcoin due to the decent payouts you can get with DGM Payout (the method/pool of my choice).

516  Economy / Services / Re: Interested in OpenVPN based USA or Germany VPN ? on: July 04, 2012, 02:33:29 PM
There's a VPN provider I use. It's in my sig.The company is HideIpVPN,they offer packages like US/Germany/UK/Canada/Netherlands,etc.With this VPN you do get a static IP address. This is just another option for the Op to look at.

What is the forum policy on link shorteners as I see no mention of this anywhere?

They're fine.

Thanks for the clarification Theymos Smiley
518  Other / Meta / Re: coinurl.com replaced with annoyance.php on: July 03, 2012, 02:06:49 PM
I once had links in my signature (based on coinURL) replaced with annoyance.php as well.I simply used googles link shortener because its very quick and shows nothing that can be deemed annoying by anyone.

What is the forum policy on link shorteners as I see no mention of this anywhere?

I know of a man who may be able to give you better info klak1212.Have you heard of Phinneaus Gage (I think thats how I spell his name anyway)? He knows a lot more about this forum than most people.I'm sure he could tell you something about Atlas.Look for the thread (you'll need to search this forum) that talks about hunting Atlas as you'll get some answers there.

I hope this helps you klak1212. Smiley

The rule is e before a except in Phinnaeus Gage. Update: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=78149.msg1003653#msg1003653

I amended the spelling now.Have a nice day Smiley
