521  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who is Bitcoin.org on: April 20, 2023, 11:54:32 PM
Just to make it clear, I am not looking for free Bitcoin.  I lost a significant amount to a fraudulent online trading platform which has now been shutdown.  I have accepted my loss and am not soliciting these people who randomly contact me.  I would never pay anything upfront to these individuals.  if someone claims to have access to any of my investment funds and wants to transfer them to me without an upfront payment then I would do my due diligence first.  My first inclination when someone contacts me is that it is a scam.  If I am unsure then I seek the advice of the forum members to educate me.  In this instance I knew nothing about Bitcoin.org but you guys have educated me and I now know how what red flags to look for.
The community here is always here to provide advice and support, so don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns, not unless you're trolling us with a fake story.

Sorry, for your loss, but yet, that's great that you accepted your loss.
Never entertain strange people on the Internet, there are many scams and fraudulent schemes out there, and it can be difficult to distinguish between legitimate offers and those that are designed to take advantage of people.   Do your own due diligence and thoroughly research any offers or opportunities before agreeing to anything, and always verify their claims before making any decisions.

However, since someone introduced you the Bitcoin.org, I suggest that this is the best tool to gain knowledge and will protect you from any fraudulent attempt in the future.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH gas fees are a joke. on: April 20, 2023, 11:31:01 PM
So I have to pay $9 ETH to transfer 70 USDT I just received, out of my wallet? And worse, transferring any amount of ETH will set you back $3 in gas fees.
For some reason, the increase in the gas fee for the Ethereum networm seems to be a sign that Bullish might be coming soon. However, what is certain is that this increase is in line with the increase in the price of ETH. but if you have to pay $9 to transfer $70, I think that's a huge amount. Are the various changes made by Ethereum still not a solution to this gas fee problem? If it's always been like this, over time people will switch to other networks that are much more affordable with the same quality
I did it last when I have Ethereum in my wallet and I wanted to withdraw it but I can't due to the high fee, it's a small amount, and if I blindly accept the gas fee, it almost nothing left.  So the best thing that I did is to monitor the gas fee and check it every day when it will cool down the congestion and it's usually the gas fee cooldown when the weekend comes or there's a worldwide event like holidays.

Ethereum isn't ideal to use in a small amount, so if you have this in your wallet just reserve it for a gas fee when moving your token or coins that are based on the Ethereum network.

Find an alternative way if you're in exchange convert it o trade into altcoins that have a low transaction fee.
523  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can I invest 4k bitcoin on: April 20, 2023, 11:12:40 PM
Where can I invest 4k bitcoin
To make profit daily 100$

Any suggestions inside crypto or any other field
If there is, most of the people now here have been rich.

Understand the word "investment", there's no investment is guaranteed to provide a daily profit of a specific amount, as the market can be unpredictable.  Even gambling that has the potential to double or easily wipe out your Bitcoin which is not ideal advice, that's very risky.

Just hold your Bitcoin in a long term and never think about the daily profit.
524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoins vanished in one day when we woke up? on: April 20, 2023, 10:59:34 PM
Is there a situation where we woke up one day and found out all our bitcoins vanished? Blockchain or DLT has a common explanation where it is calculated to solve double spending problem which represent a incomparable transaction that are solve through the computers in the network?
It depends but technically, most likely it happen to those people who didn't know how to properly store their Bitcoin.
Prone or possibly lost is that you stored it in a centralized exchange or wallet, it will never vanish if you have control of your key.

Remember that it should be 3 confirmations before the transaction is called safe and even double spending can't do.
Understanding the basic function of Bitcoin, it's always an advantage if we are knowledgable enough about how to use Bitcoin.

526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do bitcoins on exchanges come from ? on: April 18, 2023, 11:33:32 PM
How can I know if the bitcoin I buy on the exchange is "legit" or "dirty" ? Is it important ?
When you receive money from the bank or any with someone, can you know if it's dirty?

The same on Bitcoin, you didn't know if that's come from a dirty or from a clean source, but if this is your concern it is very simple, use a centralized exchange which surely they're fully regulated.

If you obsess about this, you can use a mixing service to enhance your anonymity before sending your coin into your wallet.
527  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What kind of Wallets are used by an Exchange? on: April 18, 2023, 11:25:14 PM
I remember this thread upon reading your post, just take a look, "Custodial vs. Non Custodial Wallets - "Not your keys, not your coin" Explained".

For security concerns, always use a new safe wallet as your hot wallet and avoid linking it to your cold wallet.
If you're talking about the wallet on the exchange, that's extremely risky when you let to sleep it there.
528  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I need recommendation on: April 18, 2023, 11:07:46 PM

529  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: after listening to manupulation, i think in this way on: April 18, 2023, 10:52:04 PM
That's why don't focus only on technical analysis doing such indicator lines and graphs, sometimes trends and events have also an impact on the market and that's fundamental analysis IMO.  Trend lines and indicators can be useful tools in analyzing the market, but they're just one part of a larger trading strategy.  By using a variety of tools and strategies, traders can make almost accurate results but take note, it isn't 100% have a guarantee.

I think it's generally an ideal decision if you invest and wait for the market with a long-term investment strategy that takes into account a range of factors, including fundamental analysis, market news, and technical indicators, rather than relying solely on short-term trends or attempting to profit from market manipulation.  It's most likely you will fall into the trap of short-term investors.
530  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Binance] Address expiration? on: April 17, 2023, 11:36:20 PM
I checked now my email account linked to Binance but why I didn't receive a notification about the expiration address?

By the way, OP thank you for the heads up but it seems I didn't use these altcoins mentioned in the announcement and it might be the reason I didn't receive an email.

Lazy people who didn't check the sending address before making the transaction might face a terrible issue in the future.  However, I'm confused now, how long is the expiration of the address after getting renewed?
531  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe Not Possible For Governments To Get Off Fiat?? on: April 16, 2023, 11:54:03 PM
If there are any changes in the country's financial system there could be an outcome like having an effect on international trade and commerce.
But that's unlikely to happen since we have a government that controls every financial flow and we know that the supply and demand of fiat currencies can be manipulated by governments and central banks, which can lead to inflation, deflation, or even currency devaluation.  So it's impossible they will get off fiat that is under their control.

That's why there's a decentralized currency raised.
Like Bitcoin, that has the potential to disrupt traditional financial systems and provide individuals with more control over their finances.  So possible that we will see new forms of currency emerge that we can't even imagine today.  That's why we remain open to new ideas and opportunities that we work towards creating a financial system that's transparent, fair, and accessible to everyone.
532  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A few random questions on: April 16, 2023, 11:07:23 PM
I was planning on buying 1 BTC from Binance, with transfers of 5k euros each time. The amount of BTC will be sent to my ledger nano x immediately after it is available on the exchange. It will be kept on the ledger device and I am not intending to trade any time soon.

If the government comes after me, I can tell them I lost my ledger device or I can report it as stolen. They can never know.
If it gets to that point, I can give my ledger device to my wife (she is from South America) and have her transfer the BTC to her own savings account.
I didn't know if that's a valid excuse but I understand you here and it's all about you protecting your privacy.
All blockchain transactions can be tracked because it's publicly seen not unless you're using a mixing service which I think will enhance your privacy.  This is an ideal way if you are concerned about the privacy and anonymity of your Bitcoin transactions and of course through the help of P2P exchange.
[BIG LIST] Buy/Sell Crypto (OTC, P2P, DEXs, CEXs, NO-KYC, ATMs, etc.).

It's very costly to protect your privacy if this is your concern, it's not guaranteed that it has a real-time price.
As long as you didn't involve in any CEX platforms you're considered as safe.

534  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: transfer lightening to onchain - bluewallet on: April 15, 2023, 11:25:39 PM
Or you can open a channel on Electrum Lightning to receive your funds from bluewallet.
This is my advice which I think is the solution to OP's problem.
Electrum supports both on-chain wallets and also lightning networks.

To use the Lightning functionality on Electrum, you will need to install the Lightning plugin.
Just go to "LN channel" -> "Open channel" from the menu and then search for the "yes" option.  Once you have installed the plugin, you will need to connect to a Lightning node and open a Lightning channel to start using Lightning transactions, on that way, you can simply transfer your fund.
535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Gambling on: April 15, 2023, 10:53:02 PM
I think Bitcoin is much more than just an investment.
Exactly and I tend to agree which in fact upon reading this was my thought.
People now store the value of Bitcoin not even using it as a payment system like fiat.  So I don't call it gambling when investing in Bitcoin because you're s dumb if you will sell your Bitcoin at a lower price upon purchase.

Fundamentally and technically, Bitcoin and gambling are different from each other, though there's one correlation of being risk.  Investors take the risk of losing their investment if the value of Bitcoin goes down, in gambling, players take the risk of losing their bets.

537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bear Market on: April 11, 2023, 11:59:25 PM
I think there're more problems facing bitcoin entrepreneur in a bear market that I don't even know about as a Newbie.
You even don't know but yet you say these words, it might you now a suspect of spreading FUD.

Since you're here in Bitcointalk it should be you giving a positive side of Bitcoin not guessing a negative side.
Because giving positive insight is a simple yet powerful way to strengthen a community and promote its growth and success, not spreading lies and FUDs.
538  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market is seasonal on: April 11, 2023, 11:39:51 PM
In summer there is usually less activity, and in spring there is often an active growth phase (at least once every two years).
IMO, it could be.
Many traders may take time off during holidays, which could lead to lower trading volumes and increased volatility.  As we noticed, in the past few weeks there are too many holidays I think many traders took a break for vacation.

I see that there is no complete expert trader, at a point everyone experience loss both robots. That's means the market is kind of seasonal, it can favor you today and hit you tomorrow.
Yes, that's the point because the market is highly unpredictable and subject to a wide range of factors that can impact its performance.
So even them, they may experience losses too.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Cardano get so much hate? on: April 11, 2023, 11:30:53 PM
I saw his on group FaceBook they are talking about ADA and I saw in the comment section that this project as of now that have accused of being overly focused on marketing and hyping the project rather than delivering actual results.  And also this has a low-development project in which they noticed that the community or supporters only wanted to have hype, not the real use.

I don't pay much attention to this altcoin and I don't interested in why people criticized this project.
It might be another number of shitcoin that it's good to be avoided.
540  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Centralized Exchange and Decentralized Exchange on: April 11, 2023, 11:21:35 PM
Both of them have their pros and cons. It depends on your need and what kind of exchange you want to use, dex is good if you don't want anyone to take control of your assets but it also comes with some risk. I am not into trading now but from my past experience I can tell that no matter what don't lose control of your assets.
I tend to agree with this and it all matters to us where to choose.

And both of them have always matter on these features:
  • Security
  • Liquidity
  • Trading or transaction fees
  • Accessibility

Either DEXs or CEXs have these prons and cons.
