521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help with stuck transaction in mempool with high priority rate fee on: December 23, 2023, 07:15:47 AM

Since I sent it directly to coinbase.com and they own those private keys, would it be possible that coinbase is leveraging my hash with high rate fee to get other low rate fee hashes confirmed?

This is the hash id b5411a3c59d1472b5627b423355564cc26fc1345fee435f0665299f637c1d286

Let me make it clear to you, Coinbase is the receiving end here so they are not doing anything and neither will do anything to push your transaction.

The one who told you that they send you funds from confirmed TX doesn't change the fact, and it goes back and back on a long trail and this 03bda0d33efb2da41c117c139279c1811d297637468c404d487c1d678e974b02 transaction is where the issue began because the funds send from here consists of 500 small UTXOs which made the transaction size to be around 75KB and why you have to spend 0.25BTC to do CPFP.

Welcome to the ANN thread, almost a mirror of the chatwall on BV. Love that, don't get me wrong, just terrible to see it here. Worse, from their own sig campaigners too. Sadly, the last two posts I reported for quotewall spam on this thread went unhandled, I guess they live on the borderline of what's considered spam. I hope the campaign managers see these comments and stop rewarding really poor posts. It's been two years of them rehashing the same crap of LL and the campaign. The forum's definition of beating dead horses probably belongs to this thread.

Not just this thread, almost 70-80% of the posts in the gambling section are filled with such posts and I am observing that even the altcoin section used to be like that changed drastically but here it remains the same and that is one of the reasons few of the merit sources openly stated that they ignored the gambling section.

I knew these posts would be unhandled forever so I stopped reporting them but campaign managers should take some action to make this a better place or else they are paying for something that will never be read by anyone thus their signature space is not useful for the brand too.
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help with stuck transaction in mempool with high priority rate fee on: December 22, 2023, 05:49:48 PM

This is a coinbase wallet, so I don't have access to the private key.
If its actually coinbase wallet then it does provide 12 seed words which is BIP39, so it can be imported to electrum or you are talking about coinbase exchange?

So the sender is using unconfirmed spent transactions to send my transaction? How is that even possible... would it be possible that coinbase is using CPFP on my transaction, since it came with high priority rate fee and they own my private key?

It is possible to spend the unconfirmed transaction on a new transaction but the second transaction will be confirmed only if the funds from the unconfirmed transaction get confirmed.

Coinbase will not do CPFP, it will be unconfirmed until nodes drop the transaction.
524  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Air gapping on: December 22, 2023, 03:55:00 PM
It's fairly easy to open up a laptop and strip out the WiFi card, etc., and turn it in to an airgapped device.

Not for everyone. Cheesy

I remember I broke hinges somehow while opening the back panel for switching SSD, so better leave the job to professionals. Cheesy

Using old device for air-gapped wallet is okay but if someone is really going to save few thousands worth of BTC then better spend few hundreds to buy hardware wallet or value for money brand new laptop that can last for atleast 5 years with no issues.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do casino owners benefit from creating multiple casinos? on: December 22, 2023, 01:36:34 PM
I have noticed that there are multiple casinos in the crypto space owned by the same person or company. I am curious about the reasons behind creating additional casinos when there is already a running and profitable one.

How does this practice contribute to their business? It seems illogical as it might increase operating expenses without an obvious benefit.

Gamblers, any thoughts on this?

In my view, they can build one more company/brand with a little more expense which they can be sold for a big amount to someone else that is how the shark investors think. But there is no reason if they are not really have any idea to sell the business in future or have different games from one another.
526  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns in the Service Board on: December 22, 2023, 12:31:18 PM
Now to my question: Fees have been going wild lately and I've already seen some campaigns switch to payments over other networks while still remaining in the Bitcoin Service board (and advertising paying in BTC). Am I to assume this is alright? I've been paying roughly $200/week per campaign in fees for the last few weeks and would much rather pay less as long as nothing would change as to where I can post campaigns and contests.

It shouldn't exist in the service board if they switched to any payment option other than Bitcoin whether it's a temporary switch or permanent.

But to bypass this, they can ask for an optional payment network in case the user is willing to accept in USDT instead of BTC and can switch back to BTC whenever they want.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 21, 2023, 04:51:03 PM
The bank I am using is not having anything that says I can't deposit funds from casino or the source of funds can't be related to gambling but since we are talking about crypto gambling, you are not going to deposit the winnings to bank accounts, to cashout the place you deposit is exchanges where it becomes tricky so read the ToS completely to avoid your account getting banned.

For the safe option, you can pick p2p platforms that don't have restrictions and also your bank can't flag your funds coming from crypto and gambling.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local Base Or International Based Online Casino on: December 21, 2023, 03:29:41 PM
The government can shutdown any platform that isn't regulated by them and also its not a wise option to trust them with your money even after knowing that the government is going after the creator because all I can see is a perfect exist scam and the owner will runaway. I don't know whether it will be true but that's how I see it.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The transaction depends on Electrum on: December 21, 2023, 12:40:56 PM
The link you posted didn't work. Try Talkimg to post images on bitcointalk.

If my assumption is right, the transaction you are trying to bump the fee has having unconfirmed parent which means technically you are doing CPFP by bumping it, but your wallet doesn't have any balance to cover the fee that is why you are getting this error.
530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RBF. What are the dangers of making it mandatory for all Transactions? on: December 21, 2023, 12:25:54 PM
There is no danger in enabling the RBF and since full RBF can be availed, TX that hasn't been broadcasted as RBF can bump fees too but its kind of a pain in the ass, so switch to better wallets that have RBF.
The're risk in enabling RBF but it's minimal hence it should be made know to all that sometimes it can be risky if not confirmed yet.

I am not sure, what do you mean by minimal risk? By implementing a feature that is already available on the recommended wallets but shitty wallets are too lazy to roll over the updates and just keep the users without developing anything.

RBF is something that we can use to increase the fees by rebroadcasting with different signature and it also can be termed as double spend if the outputs altered from the pervious transaction.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Outrageous Bitcoin Fees on: December 20, 2023, 09:25:24 PM

As for being faster, if you use ViaBTC free accelerator, your tx would be included in the next block that they mine, so paying the fee for high priority would be faster, because that should get you in the next block, but with ViaBTC you have to wait until they mine a block, except they mine the next block immediately after your acceleration request.

Since the congestion, not every transaction that is submitted for free acceleration is not included in the next block mined by the Viabtc pool which means you may have to wait several hours so it only helps those who are not in a hurry and making tx with less number of inputs and outputs.
532  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: December 20, 2023, 06:42:26 PM
Have seen this many times before and the most famous one is 1xbit scam that have been letting their players deposit , play and lose  but once that player won and need to withdraw? automatically banned that players and will accused of cheating  Grin
I think that every casino has such tricks in their ToS. I`ve got return of the bet when i won with the odd about 14. It was "operator mistake". But x2 bet in that match wasn`t "a mistake".
I can`t say that when casino ask KYC - it is scam, but often the casino use to maximize their profit.

If a casino voids such bets then they are going to lose their customer base unless it clearly a mistake from the operator related to odds. And it won't take too long for them to get caught if they are involved in tricky cheatings to avoid paying the won bets.

Casino is just a business too and there is nothing wrong with maximizing their profits as long as they are doing in the right way.
533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RBF. What are the dangers of making it mandatory for all Transactions? on: December 20, 2023, 04:27:17 PM
Why is RBF not by default for all Transactions on the Blockchain?

Some crappy wallets don't avail all the features that is existing and some of them are even used by many like trust wallets. So the reason is their development team too lethargic and that pictures how their security and bug-fixing will be.

There is no danger in enabling the RBF and since full RBF can be availed, TX that hasn't been broadcasted as RBF can bump fees too but its kind of a pain in the ass, so switch to better wallets that have RBF.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 20, 2023, 02:44:36 PM
~
Not really. The most addictive games are the ones that can be played faster, so online games are more addictive than face-to-face games (online roulette over physical roulette, online poker over face-to-face poker, etc.).

In the 90's people went broke betting on horse races because they didn't have internet on their cell phones. Today they can bet 24/7/365 on a lot of varieties very quickly.

In my opinion what takes the cake would be slots.
In that case, it varies from individual to individual and what kind of game they are into. Games like slots and dice can be addictive but it is also possible to get bored after a while cause its just the repetition of the same thing over and over again which means I am coming to my point, gambling is addictive and there is no scale to one weigh over the other.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 20, 2023, 12:12:05 AM
I don't know if this has been discussed before or not.

Reading about gambling addiction I don't think it's a new topic, but fitting to be in here, I just want to ask: between casino gambling, in-house gambling, and one-on-one gambling with physical players available on the table, which among these is more likely to turn someone into a gambling addict if the person doesn't have self-control in all his gambling activities?

I don't find one over the other because I see people addicted to casino games as well as poker where they bet against other player,s not against the house, and sports betting is no exception to it, and the classic example is horse race betting which is in practice for very long and I remember rich guys in the 90's went broke because they were obsessed with horse race betting.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers trickily claims they wins the bet while they never did. on: December 18, 2023, 02:48:52 PM
As a matter of fact, we don't need to disclose our wins and loss to anyone else and if someone do there is no reason that it has to be accurate so if they say something just by words then just take it with ease and no need to try that by yourselves but most of the person get tempted by those results to jump into gambling in the first place and influencers use this as an advertising strategy too.
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core transaction is stuck on: December 18, 2023, 06:23:12 AM
when i check the transaction in bitcoincore it says that it is in the memepool but when i put the TXID into memepool.space it says that its waiting for the transaction to enter the memepool

9004ca93cf578578463f141a5f3132735a418ae015c176debfebf612b31d4a0d

Your transaction has been dropped by the nodes, which means the balance should be available for you to spend now again so your qt might be having issues with sync.

Try 'listunspent' command and see whether the UTXOs appear as spendable.

If using Bitcoincore is not convenient then import the address into Electrum using privatekeys and spend it from there.

To get your private keys use 'dumpprivkey' followed by the respective address.

538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction is pending because fee was too low, now what on: December 17, 2023, 07:32:14 PM
you can also do is to cancel the transaction.

There is no such thing when it comes to Bitcoin.

You can bump the fee, which is known as Replace by Fee (RBF), or double spend it back to your own address which is what featured as cancel in electrum but here is the thing OP can't even bump the fee in his wallet.
539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction is pending because fee was too low, now what on: December 17, 2023, 05:27:30 PM
He will not be able to do that if the transaction is not supporting replace-by-fee. Unless he tries to look for node that is supporting full RBF. I have not done this before and I do not know how it works because all my transaction are supporting replace-by-fee.

I haven't done it myself personally but if OP has the private keys then he can import it to electrum and can reboradcast the transaction with a new signature if he is able to succeed at finding a node that enabled full RBF feature.

Here is how it should be done explained by @hosseinimr93

For making the replacement transaction, you can also use electrum.

- Create a new wallet using your private key.
- Let your wallet get synced and then disconnect your computer from the internet.
- Go to "console" tab and use this command to remove the transaction you want to be replaced from your wallet: wallet.adb.remove_transaction("TXID")
- Close electrum and open it again.
- Make the replacement transaction and export the raw transaction.

Now you have the singed raw transaction and you can broadcast it.
The problem now is that for broadcasting the replacement transaction, you need a node that has enabled full RBF. So, you should try different transaction broadcasting tools until you find a one allowing you to do so and doesn't reject your transaction.

540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you confident betting on handicap for heavy favorites or heavy underdog? on: December 17, 2023, 03:05:06 PM
Betting on the favorites is the conservative strategy but the downside is lower rewards and if one game goes against then possibly you could lose the progress from a streak of games so mixing up may be the better approach.

Myself not a regular sports bettor so I do not have any particular strategy for someone who wants to find some serious strategies to consider but for a casual bettor then it may work always trust your instincts so you won't regret it even if the results are against as per your expectations.
