521  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Coin Collector Cases? on: June 29, 2016, 09:19:54 PM
I purchased wood cases from www.pinnaclecoin.com with correctly sized slots to hold ANACS slabs.

and similar ones for Quadrum 2" square holders. Here's a few cases of mine.  I have now maybe 6 of these.  They come in different finishes like piano gloss black, white, as well as silver, gold, and wood.

Fewer people can afford a 1B funded coin, and some people may not want to trust another person with the keys.  I do enjoy nice presentation like a nice custom wooden box.  I would suggest a lower denomination like .05 or .1, or unfunded.

Also keep in mind about Fincen rules against shipping to US customers with funded coins unless you have the proper licenses.

I prefer 1oz Silver coins.  It's the right combination of price and precious metal.
Where is that rule, I want to read up on it?  Which licenses are needed?

I agree that 1 btc is too expensive.  Small denominations got the most votes on the survey anyways...

I'm not an expert, but from what I understand, FinCen (The US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network) requires anyone selling digital bitcoin value, regardless of where they're based out of, to register for a free Federal license and adhere to a AML (Anti Money Laundering) policy and KYC (Know your Customer).  Then, depending on how you are classified as a MSB or money transmitter, you may then have to get licenses from all 50 US states to sell to people in those states.  Basically it means that any coin maker regardless of what country they reside in must get a license to sell funded coins to US based customers.  Its likely why Satori, TGBEX, Lealana, and others must be careful about not selling pre-funded coins to US customers.

Two more makers added, and most likely the last ones to be added...

mjb Monetarymetals (maker of the first Bitcoin themed round)
Infinitum Bitcoins (Da Vinci, Tesla, Einstein, Shakespeare coins)

Total count now is 28 coin makers.

Will each wallet have a nominal satoshi in it, to place it in the blockchain ?

Maybe a comment, as well saying what it is ?

Technically it could, but I didn't think it was a good idea in selling funded physical coins/wallets to US customers.  I didn't want to cause needless drama for US sales.  For the same reason why TGBEX and Satori dont sell pre-funded coins to the US, and Casascius, Lealana stopped selling seller-funded coins.

Of course, the buyer could pay for the funding like the Lealana model.

To add to mj's post, here are some I have currently (not for sale), if anyone is curious what some other designs they made look like.

The bit-card are the bottom two rows, with the two columns in the middle.

I also wanted to mention that the one large label used for Matthew's signature in the Sig Edition was more cream colored than the white paperback page, so it stands out more.

The new 1"x3" labels I purchased for the 26 coin maker autographs (to be used in the Autograph Edition), as well as the square holograms are much more white that blends in nicely with the pages.  This link to my thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1486405.msg15119801#msg15119801  shows that picture if anyone is curious.

Received mine, thanks!

where's the public key?

I provided a file of the 25 public addresses for the Sig Edition to elianite, listed by book number.  I imagine he could PM you, if he knows the book number you have.

I would be interested too.

I would PM his user account "TitanBTC".  I spoke to Tim last week, so he is around.

Received my blank labels today. Signing them will be quick. Drawing 50 doodles might take a little longer, but I'll do my best. Wink

Regards,
Chris

No rush, as the coin makers overseas will need more time for shipping back and forth to me in the US.  I'm hoping to get back everything from all makers in a month give or take.
532  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] - Autographs for the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins on: June 21, 2016, 08:10:04 PM
How many signature editions will be made in total?

If referring to the labels, there will be 50 in total.  Approximately 15 gifted to the first coin makers that prefer them that are signing.  Then another 20 allocated to Elianite to make the Hardcover Autograph Edition.  3 allocated to Minerjones for resales of the softcovers with the sets installed, and then the remaining 10 or so loose sets to be sold by me as auction or sales.

At last count, there should be 26 coin makers signing (see 1st post), plus roughly 12+ of their holograms added.

There were 25 paperback Signature Editions signed by Mike Caldwell and the three authors.

There will be 20 Hardcover Autograph Editions to be made from 20 sets of these labels.

May I suggest picking up a copy of the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1497543.0

You can see all the coins there and see what appeals to you.

I also got mine today.  As always, a great job by those involved in organizing the group buy.

Can i get just a sliver one for 25?

I may be able to help once the coins have arrived.

Thanks Cheesy

I would be interested in just one coin too. I don't mind which one.
540  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] - Autographs for the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins on: June 09, 2016, 02:14:35 PM
Are you taking orders for these yet?

Not yet.  The number of coin makers can change day to day, and until I get back all the signatures & holos, I would hate to take preorders or reservations and quote a firm price until everything is known.  Much of it is out of my control since it depends on the coin makers to assist.  Having said that, I do expect to stay in line with pricing that elianite has quoted.

For example, I added perhaps 6 more coin makers since elianite announced the Hardcover, and I could receive additional replies over the next week.

I also added serp today.
