521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't only pray for mass adoption, start HODLING!! on: January 14, 2024, 11:52:59 PM
Profound but I'm telling you that people that are talking about mass adoption are long term bitcoin hodlers so they know what they're about when it comes to mass adoption and there's no way that someone's believable if they're not fully into it in the first place right? I wouldn't want a revolutionary talking about bitcoin or cryptocurrency being liberating against the oppressive financial institutions when they don't have any bitcoins in their name, that's hypocritical and goes to show where you really stand and what you are as a person.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if authorities launch a tax for owning bitcoin? on: January 14, 2024, 11:26:50 PM
That would be a scary thought but how would they know how to target the people that are hodling or as you say owning a bitcoin? Because I can't understand how they'll be able to do that when there's a pseudonymous feature that bitcoin offers and we can all just put all of our bitcoins back to a non-custodial wallet so as to prevent the potential subpoena to get the data from the exchanges which is unlikely especially with international exchanges. The thing that's going to happen though is that people are definitely going to stop talking about bitcoin or crypto openly so as not raise any suspicions that they own bitcoin but I think that the ones that would hide are those that have a really small amount of bitcoin, those that have a lot of bitcoin wouldn't probably mind paying.
523  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval; Price dumps, what Next? on: January 14, 2024, 12:53:00 PM
It's a good sign in my opinion, the price going down means that it's giving us an opportunity to buy more and not think too much about all of this because at the end of the day, bitcoin will inevitably go back up and then go to the moon which it always does, I still don't get why people are so scared and panicky about bitcoin going down in prices when this has happened before and bitcoin reached an ATH.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: January 14, 2024, 09:27:50 AM
Same as @Questat, I won't be giving away the exact amount but I'd give you the partial amount. The partial amount that I'm saying is around $220 and about $1 average per bet as I don't like to spend my bankroll as quickly as I like it to be, I want to enjoy watching the slots spin and give me those damn multipliers, I would say that I'm a bit aggressive with my way of betting because $1 is an average and that's already a large amount of money in my country's currency, could buy me a meal or something with that amount of bet.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 13, 2024, 05:58:37 PM
We humans are the only animal on earth whose needs are endless. We only care about earning till death. But accumulating money is not the main purpose of life. So no matter how many bitcoins we own, we will never say I don't need bitcoins. So thinking directly and indirectly it would seem that we never own enough bitcoins.
It's sad but true, it's because we're progressing as a species and we have to continue expanding our technology that we're forgetting to have simple lives. We also as a species have stopped trying to live on survival mode most of the time so we got lazy and our brains go to weird places which ends up with us thinking of ways to reinvent stuff that was not needed in the first place. I totally agree that we will never be satisfied with how much bitcoin we need because the economy of the world and most countries are getting worse by the day and so the price of essential stuff is going to go up and so what we've been saving is almost always not enough, I don't think that we'll ever be like that forever though, we can always teach ourselves to be happy with what we've got and train ourselves to stop whenever we're to reach the limit.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 13, 2024, 04:54:50 PM
The price of bitcoin is too big already and I don't think that we're ever going back to the P2P bitcoin because we just think that it's too precious. It's a sad thing that this happened to bitcoin but it's our fault this has come to this, we saw that value is going to be a thing and so we didn't stop trying to pump bitcoin so we can build our own wealth. I do hope that we will come back to P2P one but right now, I do think that bitcoin's price is just too high as I've said already.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina has officially approved the agreement to legalize the use of Bitcoin on: January 13, 2024, 04:12:44 PM
That's a big step for the country and hopefully it's going to affect bitcoin a bit more significant than El Salvador, they've got more people to cater to and it's unlikely that they're won't mind not trying out bitcoin instead of Argentinian peso which is just going down in value everyday. Congratulations to the crypto community of Argentina, you're going to be the ones that's happy about this announcement of legalization.
528  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting arbitrage on: January 12, 2024, 07:26:15 AM
It's profitable especially if you know where to look for when it comes to good odds, I don't use it but a friend of mine who bets on anything involving sports does it and from what I can see from him, I don't think that he's ever having problem with losses or money to bet which could be an implication or a conclusion that arbitrage betting works. I don't know why betting sites ban this kind of system though, is it because the other bet is placed on the other betting site? It still makes me wonder to this day how it's a frowned upon strategy because it's as legitimate as Martingale strategy.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 12, 2024, 06:16:57 AM
You saying that they're conservative than most men means that they're less likely to gamble and that already answers your question, with them more conservative in your perspective, I do think that they're most likely playing more games because they're not risk takers that will suddenly bet something big. Did some Google search about this question and there's a study that says that it's relatively same for both genders, I don't know if you'd believe that though.

Here's the link to that article, check it out if it's of interest to anyone.

530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sure match prediction on: January 12, 2024, 05:39:13 AM
I have 8 years experience about gambling.. so you can believe me about my statement.
I'll just assume that you're replying to my reply and that you forgot to quote so I'll just make it short, there's no way that when someone says something on the Internet that they're that, it's likely not true. Unless you've got a resume or even a proof of your statement and expertise then that would mean that your claim is a valid one but you're in this forum where everyone is scrutinizing everyone that says who they are because we try our best to prevent fellow forum users from being scammed.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: January 12, 2024, 05:00:51 AM
It can be difficult to root it out with real statistics. It is not guaranteed that all professional gamblers will provide their expertise like a doctor. Risk management should evaluate the patient's activities in a holistic manner. Gambling is a platform where aggrieved gamblers do not want to listen to experts and indulge in their own addiction. A clinic doctor if treating a gambler will try to convince him psychologically first. If you are mentally healthy less chaos will be created.
Not really, statistics have a margin of error to account for that kind of variables, because they know that they can't get all of the people to sign up in the data gathering and even if they do, it takes time. You haven't done a survey in your life so you think that it's impossible to do a statistics. There's no guarantee in the professional gamblers because they're not qualified to do that, they're not licensed therapist unless they really are, they're gamblers and it's actually wrong for them to even do some kind of therapeutics without the approval of the real doctors so there's no way that it's legitimate to do just that, also it's not a physician that deals with this kind of things, it's psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: January 12, 2024, 04:17:21 AM
I did spend less on casino during the holiday season but boy oh boy, I should've just spent more in casino because I've spent a whopping $700 for gifts, foods and other stuff related to the holiday, I don't regret spending those, the smile on their faces was a good compensation for that expenditure. Another good thing about the holiday season is that I've stopped gambling for a month! It's a bliss so that is why I can't really regret that spending spree, I'm fully renewed and will be able to gamble like a different person because of that 1 month detox. My advice to everyone, spend more time and money on other stuff if seasons like this are happening.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sure match prediction on: January 12, 2024, 03:33:20 AM
This is a suspicious post OP, are you sure there's no catch to all of this because it sure as hell is dodgy. Not to mention that you're going to probably give us a website to bet on that's going to be unknown to this forum, just drop the website here so everyone can check it out. What do you mean though that it's a sure match? Sure win or sure that the odds are going to be the same for all the matches?
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 12, 2024, 02:46:03 AM
Your gambling habit will only affect your relatives and loved ones if you chose to gamble irresponsibly. If you fail to see your own value and significance which gambling is stealing from you, then what’s the purpose of having relatives that will prefer to see your own welfare than to continuously see you losing and messing up with your life.

That’s where your gambling addiction will certainly affect the lives of your relatives as they can’t bare seeing you losing all the time and making you poorer and poorer while you keep getting richer the casino itself.
Everyone around you that you have a familiarity will be affected, not just your relatives or loved ones and it can also be argued that not all relatives because it's not like you know every relatives you have right? I also don't think that even if you gamble responsibly, it's still going to affect them and there's no way that gambling will ever make a positive impact in a lot of gamblers and their families. The problem isn't that you're not self-aware, the problem is that gambling is a pleasure giver and there's no way around it but to continue until you decide to change for the better and most of the time, the excuse that we're only human is widely used to make it so that we didn't have the full responsibility for our problem or addiction. It's not a complicated thing to say that gambling can affect your family or your relatives, what's complex is the fact that the mind of people that's gambling, why still play when you know that you're more likely to lose than to win?
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 02:15:06 AM
I have came across a friend who believe that and I think I was the one who raised the topic, and this get me wondering how can someone believe that gambling every day draws you more closer to winning. It's very more like saying that when you keep gambling you keep losing money and yet you seems not to stop calculating the total amount you have spent so going backwards is like someone who has accepted a defeat so no more going back rather keeps pushing forward.
Gambler's fallacy, that's the answer to that question that you might be asking why they believe that they're getting closer to winning as they continue gambling. It's when they think that there's a pattern to all of this gambling games that they play when in reality it's either fairly random or rigged from the start so they don't have any chances of winning, it's not a weird alibi though, it's been too common of a reason to be called an alibi in my opinion. Weirdest for me though is that this person wants to get out of the house because he can't stand the mouth of his wife, yapping about stuff like bills and payments for the house and I'm like you never should've married in the first place if a little yapping about is making you go out to avoid it, face that marriage life head on.
536  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 12, 2024, 01:41:56 AM
It all depends, because when a person is addicted to gambling, it initially affects him mentally and physically. The impact can be felt on the immediate family members if the family is depending on him for their livelihood. There are gamblers who are independent when it comes to spending, they may be wealthy or family members are also earning. This is in terms of financial suffering, but mentally, the entire family will suffer. When family members learn about his or her gambling addiction, surely it'll be painful if the person isn't concentrating on his/her life.
Here's the path of the affected when it comes to gambling addiction or any addiction for that matter, first is the individual themselves and then the people around them and it can be loved ones or close friends and then depending on that person it could also affect the community because we all know that addiction leads to desperation and sometimes desperation can lead to a person to do a life of crime because they need to get that addiction fix or they will somehow internally and metaphorically explode. It's actually much sadder if the family members learn a little too late that someone from their family is addicted, that's the saddest because if that person was open to gambling, there would've been a possibility of an early intervention.
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I find a Balance Here? on: January 11, 2024, 01:47:06 PM
You can do both by diversifying your holdings but make sure you are ready for the possible risks it may take. If you have enough Bitcoin funds I think it is better to try than do nothing and then regret for not doing anything. Choose wisely OP it's your fund that is involve so if you really have the guts then choose both but it will always depend on your decision.
Nope, I don't think it's a good idea to diversify when there's already a possibility that a bullrun is going to happen, there's no way tha it's a good idea to do that diversification right now, maybe if this is a stock market it might work fine but this is crypto market and I don't think that's a good idea. Just go to bitcoin all the way, there's no other way more proper than that. Don't look for balance because bitcoin's giving you the opportunity to get more value, don't stray to the right path. Of course it's your decision OP but remember that if you're have doubts about diversifying then that means it's not a good idea.
538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hoax: No Bitcoin ETF approval (yet) on: January 10, 2024, 05:06:56 PM
The gall of that troll to do that hack is just so awesome to me, they're probably planning to do this for a really long time now and they've probably got a bet that it's going to push the price to go up so they did just that to make this bet come true. Did this affect the price though? I'm pretty that this kind of fake news can affect the market right? I like what @Kelward's saying tha this could be an inside job to test the water is, that seems to be a likely thing to happen too but my mind just went to the part where it's a troll hacker.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New opinion of PlanB on: January 10, 2024, 03:48:18 PM
~
Everyone wants to get a good profit after investing in Bitcoin, but there are people who sell their assets if they get even a small profit. Therefore, only people who have the courage to hold for longer can be more successful and more profitable. Selling Bitcoin is not a wrong decision, but selling at the right time is the best decision. It is wrong to sell early or sell at a low profit, but after selling at a good opportunity, you definitely have an opportunity to buy again at a lower price.
The problem with those people in my opinion is that they don't have a lot of stuff to do besides watching their crypto grow in profit, if you actually don't think about it that much, you inevitably hodl too long than you've ever been when you're watching your crypto 24/7, getting a hobby that doesn't involve cryptocurrency can help you not make the mistake of selling early because you're watching it everytime. Totally agree, it should be at the right opportunity you should be selling and not at the price that many think is the right time to sell.
~
It's good that you have seen the price of Bitcoin and realized that it is wrong to sell early. However, man learns from mistakes, still if you can hold Bitcoin for long term, it can give you a huge profit. People who think that bitcoin is dead or that bitcoin will disappear have absolutely no idea of the potential of bitcoin. So we should not pay any attention to such things of people. We should benefit from Bitcoin investment ourselves and also educate people around us about it.
I don't just hodl for the long-term, I'm also buying so I can get more value and increase the profit that I might be able to get out of my hodl. The people you're talking about are split in a category, one is the people that will never get over it and think that it's going to be that way forever even if they're wrong so many times about the death of bitcoin and those that will get over it and go to the side that invests in bitcoin eventually and rants about regretting not getting in when bitcoin's price was much lower than the time that he got in.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New opinion of PlanB on: January 10, 2024, 02:48:14 PM
Anything going up with bitcoin is always possible, that's why it's a good thing to set up your selling goal higher than you normally should because bitcoin's proven itself time and time again that it's going to go up despite all of it's detractors throughout the years, how long do we have to learn the same lesson with bitcoin? I don't think I'm up to make the same mistake of selling early because I was blinded by the profit, my absurdist price goal helped me stop potentially stupid things that would've messed up my investments and hodling process. Everytime someone says that bitcoin's dead, I always bring a cup to get those tears from people that's scared to death about that possibility.
