5241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto hodling as a form of gambling! on: September 06, 2019, 07:43:15 PM
The comments appear to be split between those who are of the opinion that cryptocurrency hodling is gambling and those who think it isn't.

In concept, any venture where you do not wield sufficient control over the outcome is a sort of gamble. As you are not certain of the result. But this would classify any financial investment as a gamble, which it is in a way.
But the absence of odds and bookmakers and a wager or stake, make it white different from a conventional gambling concept.
I would say not, it is a gamble but not a form of gambling.
5242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 06, 2019, 07:13:12 PM
wonder why didn’t Pogba make use of this rule and sealed his transfer to Real Madrid, or do you’ll think he’ll use this rule next summer?

I'm not aware of any such rule which can be applied. As long as a player has a contract with a club, then the club would have to approve a transfer for it to happen. The other option is to hand in a transfer request to show your willingness to leave. But this is only used when a player is certain of not wanting to feature anymore for that team.
5243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: September 06, 2019, 05:47:29 PM
Heartbreak for any player that decided to leave Liverpool in search of Champions League glory. We had Coutinho joining Barca, and Messi magic ended up breaking their hearts even more on 2 successive campaigns after being 3-0 up on aggregate. Then we had Can, who even with Ronaldo magic couldn't even reach the final.

On the other hand, players who fought for their place like Sturridge and even Origi, wow, what a reward.
I do not think football should be judged in that way, players make moves that they eventually go on to probably regret, but that's that for football.
If coutinho had performed at his best in Barcelona, he would not have be sold/loaned in the transfer window and he would have definitely won the champions league with Barcelona someday soon. As for Emery can I do not think Liverpool were actually interested in keeping him. So the success of the team a player leaves shouldn't actually bother such player or make him feel bad, as he could still get more success in his current team.

Players like sturridge and Origi played peripheral roles in Liverpool winning the title, I doubt if history would remember them so much for it.
5244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality Check: Out with the OLD on: September 06, 2019, 05:19:55 PM
There's a limit on how many people you can invite in a "Ponzi" before everything collapsed. Only "invest" what you can afford to lose.
Well said and it must be put forward to others that it doesn't matter the coin you're investing in, be it in the top 10 or top 50, even the BTC inclusive, you shouldn't invest the sort of money that you cannot afford to lose.
The market doesn't have any specific direction nor any definite route or cause of action, anything is possible, be it from the advantageous or disadvantageous point of view, that's why we must always be ready for what it brings by investing what we can afford to lose.
5245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My opinion about dumps caused by bounty participants. on: September 06, 2019, 05:05:14 PM
It should be known to all that bounty hunters are majorly concerned about cashing out from a successful bounty program. Investors could be willing to stay long and watch as the project unfolds, but bounty hunters are concerned about immediate gratification for the task done. The project should consider paying bounty hunters using btc or ethereum as against the tokens to avoid issues of dumping. This would also contribute to the reputation of the project.
Bounty hunters immediately run out of a project(sell)in order to cash out and see how much profit they can make for themselves, and you can't blame them since their contribution to the project was not through their cash, but their effort in advertising for the project.
But the bad side is that when a whole lot of them sell at any miserable price, it pulls down the price of the project and it's bad news for investors as they must have to be patient to see if the project recovers.

I do not see how ICO projects can pay hunters in btc, how then are they going to spread their coins all over the market, it would be a terrible idea if they did that.
5246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 06, 2019, 03:20:06 AM
It's not just Euro Qualification, some matches are still worth a while, compared to when you get stuck with CAF qualifiers all week long.

I think the most painful part of the international break is always when the national teams takes players, some are probably going to return their respectively clubs injured.

The CAF qualifiers are not that bad *tongue in cheek*. But yeah, the international break does take the sting out of the current English premier league season,
Injuries are part of the game and could happen during any event, for club or country.
5247  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting Posts - Max 2 Years After Posting? on: September 06, 2019, 03:14:01 AM
Some would argue that those rule breakers who were caught and banned immediately after their violation could have gone on to become assets to the forum down the line should their infraction have gone unnoticed at the time.
I am in support of a specific amount of time off as punishment for breaking rules (3-5 years maybe) rather than a permanent ban. Anyone who returns after that could be valuable to the forum yet. And their accounts could begin with newbie restrictions as they grow again, regardless of their current rank.
5248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: September 05, 2019, 08:49:30 PM
...

The league would be interesting (as it has always been)  regardless of which teams are at the summit of the table.
After humiliating exits from the champions league, I would agree that Barcelona and Madrid need to bounce back this season. Also Atletico would have to become serious contenders which they were a couple of years ago.
5249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport Has Many Gambling Supporters (State Your Opinion) on: September 05, 2019, 08:44:45 PM
All on the region you are trying to put into consideration for as far as I know, soccer is one of the sports bet that is dominant in my country an I think is one of the top on the world wild scale.

Football (or soccer in some regions) is a universal sport and transcends borders, hence it's huge fan base and also higher rate of gamblers. I do not know if dog and horse races are primarily considered to be sports, but AFAIK they have a high rate if gamblers, but is not as much a universal sport as football.
5250  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not ignore the small profits in Bitcoin investments. on: September 05, 2019, 05:56:22 PM
There is nothing wrong with long-term hoarding, but when the opportunity is there to take some small profit, then you should take it.  Wink

The long-term approach is one of the best trading strategies for me. Taking varying amounts of profits overtime and accumulating to a much higher goal. It gives a trader something to fall back on, should the market turn sour unexpectedly.

That's why I always suggest timing rather than patience, the market changes unexpectedly and there are opportunities to profit littered about, and not just the promise of a grand finish.
5251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 05, 2019, 04:38:10 PM
They should definitely sign a Center Back but I wonder what are their options for this position. We are already in September and most of the key players have already signed at their clubs.

There is no possibility of that until the next transfer window in January. The EPL closes their summer window early so it clashes with the beginning of the season, while other leagues like the Spanish league leaves it open for a few more weeks into the season. But even that is closed now. City would need to wait for January to strengthen their squad, or look into their your team.
5252  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading on: September 05, 2019, 01:45:13 PM
Can i ask some advice from trading experts here, How could i trade safely and assure possible profit from my investments?

You would have to answer this question yourself, by learning about trading. The referred to 'experts' can offer tips and guidelines, which you would have to put into practice, if it aligns with your trading goals and strategies, and how you choose to manage your investments

Try demo trading on sites that support it.
Have a specific target you need (have a time frame).
Invest only what you can afford to lose.
And most importantly, learn to control your emotions while trading.
5253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: September 05, 2019, 12:35:51 PM
Yes, it's true that Barcelona started the league less well. Unlike Barcelona in general, they must rise again. Neymar transfers do not take place, so all Barcelona related parties can focus back on la Liga, they must rise and start with positive results.

The team has to guard against complacency. After eight laliga titles in eleven years, it's very easy to lose focus and take victories for granted.
Atletico Madrid are also strong contenders after their perfect start to the new season.

The season still has a long way to go and there would still be lots of changes at the top of the table
5254  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: September 05, 2019, 11:05:14 AM
if they removed from the DT network, their feedbacks on those scammers will be invalidated since they aren't in the trust network anymore. it will be a mess and a lot of work for other DT members to retagged all of the users who were tagged by DT users who were gone in this forum months or years ago.

But conversely, it also means that the tags are permanent and even if a user proves themselves trustworthiness again, or their earlier accusation is dropped the tag would still remain as the DT members are no longer active. This also works in cases of users they positively trusted who prove not to be trustworthy.
Trustworthiness is not static and should be changing as circumstances do.

I would love to see the statistics on this. This would give us an idea of how much activity goes on on those threads and which local language should get their own board for better discussions.

Bold move from Sarri to leave Can out of the champions league squad. This could mean he is not in his future plans for the club, and is only there to strengthen the squad in case of injuries.
Emre Can hinted at needing to play champion's league football, this could lead to an exit when next the transfer window opens.
5257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 04, 2019, 05:07:25 PM
Matic was reportedly by British media that they were getting hot because they didn't get a chance to play. Although rumored to be leaving Old Trafford, he remained until the transfer window closed.

Man United let go of quite a number of players this past transfer window, and they failed to get sufficient replacements in, this could have added to the reason why Matic wasn't allowed to leave the club. They need depth in the squad.

he once became a substitute when Manchester United offset Southampton 1-1.

If you meant upset, then I will add that Manchester United has not fallen that low yet. They are the bookmakers pick in fixtures like that.
5258  Other / Meta / Re: Prediction of sport games on: September 03, 2019, 09:01:54 AM
There are many gambling options available, hence why there are so many diverse topics to discuss on aside sports, I've also seen threads on beauty contests. Sports is a unifying factor, hence it takes a lot of the discussion, I do not think that is off topic as long as it's remotely concerned with gambling.

Gambling discussion is a child board of Gambling, and there are other child boards as well, I do not think creating more would solve any issue, rather report whichever posts you think is not meant to be there and the mods would handle it.
5259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying Germany VS Netherlands Discussion on: September 03, 2019, 08:57:10 AM
I think a discussion thread should cover the entire competition and not just a single qualifying fixture as the topic suggests.

I am backing the Dutch, to come out with the victory although it's be a very tough fixture for both teams.
Most bookmakers I've checked have given an advantage to the Netherlands.
5260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 02, 2019, 05:57:16 PM
Romelu Lukaku got racial attacks from Cagliari fans.

This is probably the third racial incident involving the Cagliari supporters in just about a year. And at this point the club and the league would need to take stricter measures to curb the growing menace.
The race for the scudetto would be very interesting thing season, with a number if clubs stepping up and making high profile sign-ins, the latest of which is Henrick Michitarian (I hope I correctly spelt that) to Roma.
