542  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: transfer lightening to onchain - bluewallet on: April 15, 2023, 11:25:39 PM
Or you can open a channel on Electrum Lightning to receive your funds from bluewallet.
This is my advice which I think is the solution to OP's problem.
Electrum supports both on-chain wallets and also lightning networks.

To use the Lightning functionality on Electrum, you will need to install the Lightning plugin.
Just go to "LN channel" -> "Open channel" from the menu and then search for the "yes" option.  Once you have installed the plugin, you will need to connect to a Lightning node and open a Lightning channel to start using Lightning transactions, on that way, you can simply transfer your fund.
543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Gambling on: April 15, 2023, 10:53:02 PM
I think Bitcoin is much more than just an investment.
Exactly and I tend to agree which in fact upon reading this was my thought.
People now store the value of Bitcoin not even using it as a payment system like fiat.  So I don't call it gambling when investing in Bitcoin because you're s dumb if you will sell your Bitcoin at a lower price upon purchase.

Fundamentally and technically, Bitcoin and gambling are different from each other, though there's one correlation of being risk.  Investors take the risk of losing their investment if the value of Bitcoin goes down, in gambling, players take the risk of losing their bets.

545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bear Market on: April 11, 2023, 11:59:25 PM
I think there're more problems facing bitcoin entrepreneur in a bear market that I don't even know about as a Newbie.
You even don't know but yet you say these words, it might you now a suspect of spreading FUD.

Since you're here in Bitcointalk it should be you giving a positive side of Bitcoin not guessing a negative side.
Because giving positive insight is a simple yet powerful way to strengthen a community and promote its growth and success, not spreading lies and FUDs.
546  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market is seasonal on: April 11, 2023, 11:39:51 PM
In summer there is usually less activity, and in spring there is often an active growth phase (at least once every two years).
IMO, it could be.
Many traders may take time off during holidays, which could lead to lower trading volumes and increased volatility.  As we noticed, in the past few weeks there are too many holidays I think many traders took a break for vacation.

I see that there is no complete expert trader, at a point everyone experience loss both robots. That's means the market is kind of seasonal, it can favor you today and hit you tomorrow.
Yes, that's the point because the market is highly unpredictable and subject to a wide range of factors that can impact its performance.
So even them, they may experience losses too.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Cardano get so much hate? on: April 11, 2023, 11:30:53 PM
I saw his on group FaceBook they are talking about ADA and I saw in the comment section that this project as of now that have accused of being overly focused on marketing and hyping the project rather than delivering actual results.  And also this has a low-development project in which they noticed that the community or supporters only wanted to have hype, not the real use.

I don't pay much attention to this altcoin and I don't interested in why people criticized this project.
It might be another number of shitcoin that it's good to be avoided.
548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Centralized Exchange and Decentralized Exchange on: April 11, 2023, 11:21:35 PM
Both of them have their pros and cons. It depends on your need and what kind of exchange you want to use, dex is good if you don't want anyone to take control of your assets but it also comes with some risk. I am not into trading now but from my past experience I can tell that no matter what don't lose control of your assets.
I tend to agree with this and it all matters to us where to choose.

And both of them have always matter on these features:
  • Security
  • Liquidity
  • Trading or transaction fees
  • Accessibility

Either DEXs or CEXs have these prons and cons.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 11, 2023, 10:58:30 PM
So, my question is can Bitcoin give a life that I dreamt as a child. Is it possible to gain financial freedom? What exactly does financial freedom means in context of Bitcoin?
How can you define in yourself the financial freedom that you wanted or might one of us want?
IMO, this financial freedom means having enough passive income to cover your living expenses without having to work for it actively.  So it means you need to have a stable job to have a stable source of income.  That's the real meaning of financial freedom.

Bitcoin isn't a magic solution to financial freedom.
It's just one tool that you can use to achieve your financial goals.  You still need to have a solid financial plan in place, manage your expenses wisely, and invest in a diversified portfolio.  It can potentially give you the life you dreamed of as a child, but it's not a guaranteed path to financial freedom.  It's just the same on fiat that you've got full control of your asset without controlling the third party like central banks, that's only the advantage.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Life is good with 250 units of bitcoin; early opp. on: April 10, 2023, 11:37:06 PM
It's just occur my mind in around 2008 first time I heard people talking about bitcoin, some media friends were texting and DM my facebook, BBM to buy bitcoin at a very low rate of $100 but I seriously kick against the opportunity to store bitcoin as many units as I will. My friend bought 100 units then and stored it to some points when it turns $3000 and he sold them out.
Its funny pa say, because are you sure it was Bitcoin you heard of far back in 2008? Because in 2008 Bitcoin never existed, as it was launched in 2009, a year after, of which nobody took it serious back then simply because it had no meaningful tangible value, and its mining was free compared to now which is very expensive, which only if you had $1 or a P.C, you could have afforded to buy or mined more than 1000 BTC back then in 2009.
Haha, it's funny and you got him busted with this which is clearly not saying the truth.
It might OP means it was back in April 2013 when Bitcoin first reached a price of $100, not in 2008 which at that time don't have an exchange market to buy Bitcoin.  How come @OP huh...?

I've been for years in crypto but until now I didn't have even a single number of Bitcoin.
If you have that large amount now, might you also suspect money laundering when you exchange it into fiat, it's very risky either.
551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to use if…then… for scripting in trading coin? on: April 10, 2023, 11:19:50 PM
So the question we need to answer is: if ETH goes up, what do we do? On the contrary, if it decreases, what will you do?

We all believe that in the short term ETH can decrease, but in the long term (until the end of 2025) there is a very high possibility that ETH will have an amazing growth (because now ETH has entered…
Of course, cut your profit off and re-invest.
But I don't believe that much, if Ethereum will increase it will do the same on the Bitcoin side which I plan to hold much.

IMO, predictions are just that, predictions and no one can guarantee a 100% success rate result.
By determining potential outcomes in advance or what's in the future, you can make informed decisions and maximize profits.  Considering both short-term and long-term has possibilities when developing your plan.
552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any website to compare 2 different currency prices over time vs USD? on: April 10, 2023, 11:07:44 PM
Here are the websites that you can choose from, besides, others were already given above.

Just choose which is best for you and have the option to compare individual coin pairs.
What I like most is Tradingview because it has a lot of tools and features that you can use while comparing prices or having price analysis in trading.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are you a long time hodler? on: April 10, 2023, 10:45:32 PM
as a fellow bitcoin investor, what strategies have you found to be most effective, to maximizing your returns while minimizing risk?

do you prefer to hold bitcoin for the long term or you actively trade based on market trends?
A perfect way to minimize risk and possibly avoid losses.
  • Holding long-term
  • Do DCA in purchasing Bitcoin

The main reason people hold Bitcoin in the long term is the potential for price appreciation because Bitcoin has historically had significant price increases over time, and some investors believe that this trend will continue in the future until it will make again an all-time high or ATH.
554  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 09, 2023, 11:46:24 PM
Just watch this, How Debt Get You Rich | Robert Kiyosaki.

See, borrowing isn't bad as long as you know how to manage it and I did the same, I have also a debt but I manage to become wealthy someday.
Because I believe that debt can be a tool for creating wealth, it's important to approach it with caution and only take on debt if you have a solid plan for using it to generate income and grow your investments.

I realize that it would have been smarter to only borrow money if I had a clear plan to use it in a way that could help me make more money in the long run, such as starting a business or investing in a property that generates profit.  Borrowing for things like vacations, entertainment, or non-necessary purchases is generally not a good idea and can lead to unnecessary debt.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take good care of yourselves on: April 09, 2023, 11:33:07 PM
I tend to agree with the OP.
I've been years joining signature campaigns but to be honest, I didn't have Bitcoin in my wallet, I spend most of the time when I needed it.

Don't hesitate to invest when it comes to your health.
But don't feed too much yourself it should balance between enjoying the present and preparing for the future.  By practicing self-control and wise spending habits, you can ensure that you aren't sacrificing your current quality of life while still investing in your future financial stability.  Being financially prepared can also provide a sense of security and peace of mind, knowing that you have a safety net to fall back on in case of unexpected events in the future.  So IMO, it's important to find a healthy balance between spending and saving to secure a stable financial future for yourself.

All I can say is spend wisely your Bitcoin.
556  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: About Hardware wallet]  I am curious to learn; please help. on: April 06, 2023, 10:42:43 PM
The solutions above will solve your doubts about the third party, but if you are skeptical about the developer of the hardware wallet itself, using an open source OS with airgapped devices will give you high security.
Is that really safe?

IMO, if you've doubted that it has been tampered with, it's better not to use that hardware wallet at all.
There are several signs that you can determine a tampered hardware wallet, has physical damage on the item.  For example on Trezor device, has a holographic seal with the Trezor logo that covers the USB port and the edges of the device. The seal has a unique serial number that can be verified on the Trezor website to confirm its authenticity.

The Ledger wallet has a tamper-evident seal that covers the USB port and the edges of the device.
The seal has a unique QR code that can be scanned using the Ledger Live app to verify its authenticity.

So be careful and it should be on the official site for less worry.
557  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you share with your friends and relatives about your crypto holdings? Beware! on: April 04, 2023, 11:56:15 PM
There's no point sharing the amount of crypto that you're holding even if that is your friend and your relatives, except the one who you trust most, for example, your partner in life or your parents.  I'd rather keep it private for the seek of privacy because we know every valuable stuff is very hot for greedy people.

I share only the information about bitcoin but not the amount I hold because to many risk we can get about exposing this and might we can get more unwanted message which can destroy a relationship especially when money is involve on discussion.

I better stay silent about balances but if they talk about crypto well I can give them some basic or generic answer which is also important if they want to learn about it.
I tend to agree with all of these, teach them if they wanted to seek information regarding Bitcoin but don't show to them your entire balance.
558  Economy / Economics / Re: The beginning of the end for centralized AI? on: April 04, 2023, 11:28:27 PM
Upon having a short research this is what I've found.  Italy became the first Western country to ban ChatGPT
Upon reading that article, not only Italy but also other countries have been increased or other plans to increase restriction reading AI projects.
Centralized or Decentralized systems can still be subject to legal and regulatory frameworks.  It might possible that new regulations could be developed specifically targeting decentralized AI technologies.

But this question is still on my mind, I didn't see any official announcement, better to seek out official information and sources before jumping to conclusions because this is only a rumor.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 04, 2023, 11:09:42 PM
First, educate them, if someone showed interest it's a good sign to convince them, it's important to educate skeptical individuals about the benefits and risks of Bitcoin so that they can make an informed decision.  Because if you insist, it might someday when they will fail they will surely blame you in the future.

Let them decide on their own, at least they know already the pros and cons of Bitcoin investment.
Because these kinds of people are usually wasting time because they have an attitude of not easily believing.  Because when dealing with a skeptical person, it's important to listen to their concerns and address them with accurate information.  Be patient and understanding, and avoid being overly pushy or aggressive in trying to convince them.  Respect their decision and not pressure them into investing in something they're not comfortable with.
560  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet, what's my outgoing address? on: April 04, 2023, 10:55:32 PM
Bob sends 1 Bitcoin to Mary on Electrum Wallet

Who does Mary think the Bitcoin came from?  What address does she think is Bob's?
Every transaction successfully made on the Electrum wallet it will automatically change and generate a new address, there's an "input" and "output" address, and it will generate another address after the transaction.  If Bob will reuse the same address you can easily determine the transaction that comes from him, so focus on the "output" transaction because that is how you'll determine where it comes from.  Electrum Wallet has this more privacy feature and the reason I liked it most.

You can check the transaction ID through blockchair.com you'll see there the Senders and the Recipients addresses.
