Xavi joins Sven and Klopp in announcing retirements and stepping down.

Sven gets applause, plaudits, tributes because he has less than a year to live. Klopp gets it all because he says goodbye and is well loved anyway. But poor Xavi, announcing his and instead of asking him aboutall the details of why, he gets ridiculed and shat on.

Guys dragged you out of misery, made you win and improved El Clasico stats. And still he is too shit.

Fk football man.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval was a FOMO movement on: January 29, 2024, 04:00:05 PM
FOMO on what though? ETFs only affecting US people. Rest of the world can't get in on it.

Rest of the world who wants Bitcoin can already get some anyway.

What was the thing to miss out on? Not ETFs. Not Bitcoin... what?
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: January 28, 2024, 05:10:49 PM
Right, right, and that's what I'm afraid of at the moment. I don't want to tumble down from the heights I've climbed through such hard efforts. What I want is climbing further up, and, I can't believe it myself, but I did manage to make that one step up recently Smiley

Yeah and I'm falling down once more with that Union crap haha. We all deserve where we are, and I'm at least able to say I'm losing to some of the really veteran players in this forum. Just wish I could wring a bit more out of Freiburg, I think the problem with them and Union is I have an unshakeable bias with their players. And when I go against them, as I did with Union, they actually win. Goddamn =)
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: January 28, 2024, 03:05:55 PM
Nunez haters, feel free to tell me I'm wrong about my main man. 21 goal involvements this season, per 90 minutes he is only behind Salah, Haaland. 1 goal/assist per 90 minutes. That's value!

@casperBGD - even when the draw fully goes your way, you still manage to f%$k it up somehow, eh?
I really expected Everton to go through today, considering how your season's going, you could have fielded a bit stronger lineup.

You lost to them at home in the league as well, right?

Sorry casperBGD I got to lay it on as well. The odds were quite good, almost fell for it really, but I knew somewhere deep down you would f* up.

I know this probably isn't as bad as Maidstone kicking out Ipswich but you probably would have lost to them anyway!

Edit: Just took Sinner for the first time today at 1.85, this is already much better than prematch odds of 1.35

Edit2: and once more now that it is 2:0 for Medvedev but Sinner finally started to play @4.6
When I am going down I am going in style  Grin Predicting Medvedev dropping off now and loosing his cool in fifth set

Man, cryptofrka did himself a huge favour taking Medvedev early. Have a bit on Sinner with a friend so he's already bugging me for it.

Too sleepy to try take a live bet and Sportsbet app not responding bleh.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US gov’s planned $118M Bitcoin sale is ‘peanuts’ compared to GBTC on: January 28, 2024, 11:12:23 AM
Yeah. Even with all the indefinite amounts dumped supposedly from seized coins or from Mt Gox recoveries didn't dent markets. These weren't even at today's prices.

Those are, really, breakfast amounts. Business as usual. Why we getting so excited?
547  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: January 27, 2024, 07:40:18 PM
So when Steve isn't busy drinking beer, do you think they'll do a special on a Liverpool mini-quadruple? If I were a Reds player, I'd be breaking my body to give him this farewell gift. Pep's also just said he'll sleep better after Klopp's gone (a compliment, of course) so I'd want to give him some final nightmares before peace time.

Current Liverpool odds on an EPL, Europa and EFL acca are 20/1... No markets yet on FA Cup but doubt it's less than 3/1.

Staying out of many btting options but of course the ones I did make I lost. Not really doing myself proud in a free round either but if that somehow means I get better in real rounds, so be it. Still think am safe now but another point or even win gets me up into better prizes.

Annoying titchy incidents eh Hhampuz?
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: January 27, 2024, 05:53:04 PM
Yeah notblox1 if I'm honest, I think it will be a case of Reds trying to impress, finish high and strong. Not dure if I enjoy Liverpool when thry are overeager but anyway, hope Newcastle take this tonight to complete a half round of Prem favs.

Was just telling a friend this morning I feel less and less inclined to watch games. FA Cup low on my priority.

Old age? Kloppshocked? Who knows...
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's in Store for Crypto in the Coming Months? on: January 27, 2024, 04:26:34 PM
The trick to making likeable predictions is to make them vague enough so that they can play into humanity's love for confirmation bias, and people will find 'evidence' that those predictions were correct. "Further price action around Bitcoin halving" is a wonderful example because Bitcoin has "price action" all the time, and there's no strict definition of what that means. Some goes for "broader institutional involvement" as any news about any major investment fund and Bitcoin kind of counts here.
So yeah, in the same spirit, I can say that Bitcoin will be volatile, we will see some market fluctuations, the ETFs will remain a relevant question, and Bitcoin will get significant media attention over the next few months.

A trick well learnt by the industry too, as it turns out. We all want to hear affirmation of our beliefs (or fantasies maybe?) even if it doesn't even dampen the disappointment when it doesn't turn in our favour.

I do pretend I'm all right even when everything turns against what we want -- comforted by the fact I'm holding and stacking as my target price and/or liquidation date is so far ahead in the tunnel there's no sliver of light yet.

I've definitely abandoned this "institutional" hopium though, even in the last bull run. I mean, really, the biggest drops are already in the ocean...
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: January 26, 2024, 11:22:26 PM
Citeh's Pep's completed his puzzle. Wins away and home against every Prem League team.

But I don't care. This is Klopp's first game coming up since his announcement. He gets to play against his best man at wedding too. I'm not sure I could bring myself to watch it, honestly, as will be in public, I might actually shed a tear or two.

Damn it, Alex will win this round thanks to Djokovic biting the dust. I did bet against him but he just had the looks of a winner, this was going to set the record to an unbreakable level for at least a decade.

To make matters worse, I forgot to bet on Medvedev correct score... I too didn't rate Zverev (why he was one I picked NO last week).
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 26, 2024, 11:11:51 AM
Oh man I jd to come on and say something here. He did want to leave earlier then signed that extension... now the dream comes to an end.

Liverpool 2.0 better give him a good sendoff. Change his mind maybe? Still processing... LFC_Bitcoin oh, the memories.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the Bitcoin ETF could actually tank Bitcoin's market value on: January 25, 2024, 07:14:09 PM
Too late. The unexpected dip already means yours is not a contrarian opinion. Can't tell you how many pings I'm seeing now about similar what ifs.

The true contrarian has always disliked any supposed boon for Bitcoin that involves speculation and not owning your keys.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these P2P crypto platforms SCAM? on: January 25, 2024, 12:31:21 PM
However, I also won't call them a legitimate P2P platform. They're like hybrids. They can't be categorized with genuinely legitimate P2P platforms such as Bisq, Hodlhodl, AgoraDesk, and others.

I agree, but not in the way worded. They're all legitimate P2P platforms in that they allow you to trade with other users. I used Localbitcoins for a long time, it KYC'd near the end, and died, but it was a very good entry into P2P.

Bisq and Hodlhodl are great, but beginners probably find it too daunting at first. If it's KYC, you might find anyway that some traders require some form of KYC from you if you don't yet have a reputation. Remitano for Southeast Asia's also a good place (KYC exists but you don't have to do it for P2P) to get good contacts.

Damn, Coco, why you so easy lose? Now I've to hope Zheng overcomes an early setback. Can't make life too easy for Alex now can I?

Oh and forum only please. Telegram is hard to navigate for this kind of comp. Great chatting place and maybe even for work but BSFL works because of this forum format...

Yeah, why wouldn't Indonesia score in extra time to ruin my pick?
The amount of 'against the odds' situations that are happening to me are beyond belief.

Japan's been great at scoring, but they've had some really crazy defensive blips too but Indonesia are perhaps a little stronger than bookies think. Malaysia should get hammered today though.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 24, 2024, 08:04:12 PM
Re mercenaries, it's not an Africa thing, it's a third world (I'm 3rd world so it's not an offensive terms against myself, is it? haha) thing. It's not for me, I was born where I was born, and raised there. Spent half my life abroad but can't get rid of where I come from. I would never represent even outside my state, let alone outside my country, but I don't hold it against or blame anyone who wants a better future.

You've got, as I learnt recently, so many South and Central Americans with dual nationality and passports. They'll happily represent their nations but live in (West/Central) Europe. Same for Southeast Asians -- if they had the chance, they'd do it. We've got a few Malaysians playing for the shirt but really not living in Malaysia, usually wealthy mom/dad who hit it off with a spouse abroad. Same as Indonesia. You know them immediately from their accents or even inability to speak the local language.

I don't bear grudges, they played with the cards they're dealt with. On the extreme, you do have even Singaporeans though who own "mercenaries". Brazilians especially in football but also Africans who are given citizenship but with zero connections, and no requirement to integrate. They compete under the Singapore flag across all sports but we all don't see them as Southeast Asian.

But hey, you've got Dutch, English, Italians and Swiss who had zero connections but came from Europe itself -- Eastern bloc, or the Caucasus or Russia. Go look in lower leagues and find them all over, with flags you wouldn't guess from their names. Players who even switch nationality throughout their careers. USA players now playing for someone else. KdB even could have registered as African if he wanted to earlier in his youth.

Playing for pride? Wonderful dream but not everyone is lucky enough to be born in a position to be proud of the birth lottery ticket he got handed.

Oh and AFCON served us our first couple of 0-0s!
558  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New transaction accelerator on the market - mempool.space on: January 24, 2024, 03:23:15 PM
Just happened to see this new service on mempool myself and of course, arrived here on the forum to see someone saw it almost 2 months ago. As others note, the price is actually really dependent on your tx and current fee rate.

Yesterday, I sent out an unusual (for me) tx (Segwit, lean, several outputs), costing just under 10000 sats at mempool's "high priority" fee rate. RBF-ing myself to bump up the rate to 10% more was only several thousand sats but Mempool's fee was 40k sats for that. So about 400% on top of the fee paid. It was as if, despite the tx already at what they considered to be a high priority fee, they insisted to bump it up much, much higher.

Take it as you will, I obviously would need to look at many more tx fee to make a good comparison. I just feel they don't really optimise.
559  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullrun top on: January 24, 2024, 01:00:02 PM
with that said. when a pattern is too well known. many people anticipate and plan to beat the pattern, thus breaking the pattern

With franky1 here, I've posted over the years and stand by my belief in ATH a year after halving. Even without the economic impact on sentiment (I always think it's because of belated realisation but over time pricing in with more awareness of halving lessens that impact) I still think the ATH should follow the same pattern.

It's not yet too well known, for some reason. Because I'm now past experiencing my second ATH and we still have experts predicting tops around or even before halving. Guess they all want the pattern shattered.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 24, 2024, 09:24:49 AM
Damn Igebotz, if we win passage tonight, we get to do Chelsea all over again. It's not Prem League but it's probably worth a bit more to some people in blue/red. Palmer performed as I thought, he's going to be a monster in EPL.

BTW, just to tease haters: who's Europe leading goals+assists player this season? Also is just a tiny bit behind Haaland and Kane in goals+assists per 90 mins.

Slightly OT: Liverpool fans: do you remember the Ig! Cult favourite at Anfield, so typical of Houllier's team at the time and part of the unfancied UCL winning team years later.

Cro2 of course probably knew Biscan was in Saudi already but I had no idea until I saw a headline of Al Shabab wanting Mou to replace him. I need to start looking at manager rosters to see some familiar names, huh?
