5561  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market will be recovery current year 2019? on: March 09, 2019, 08:45:48 PM
I would advise you wait trying to predict when the market would bull. If you are not making short-term speculations, then do not attempt to predict the future price.
Do you research, invest what you can afford to lose, and hodl, till you get your desired profit.
5562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Galaxy s10 Blockchain Mode Won't Include Bitcoin? on: March 09, 2019, 08:38:44 PM
<>

Thanks for clarifying, there are lots of rumours going around about the new device and how it incorporates the blockchain technology.
I for one do not think it would have much of an impact on the cryptocurrency market, it us a huge step, and would attract more interest to the blockchain.
I see it as another rung on the ladder ti mass adoption.
5563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 icos on: March 09, 2019, 03:56:15 PM
I think you can check any ICO in icobench, coingecko, topicolist and more.
You can see every rating in every ICO.
There are good site to see recommended ICO

Checking ratings on websites is not a very good idea I've come across many a project with excellent ratings on such websites turn out to be a scam, or a failed project before take off. This is cause majority of projects turn out to be disappointments despite having a glowing whitepaper and trying to disrupt one industry or the other using the blockchain.

It's very difficult to predict which project would turn out good during an ICO. I go for those with an already established sector which is verifiable and functioning.
ICOs are big risks. Only a small percentage turn out successful.
5564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: -=< No Guts No Glory! >=- Hodl !!!!! on: March 09, 2019, 03:51:08 PM

The YouTube video is loop repeating the same words over the span of ten minutes, probably not worth sharing. But the message is pretty clear. Hodling in the midst of the current market crisis.
Education on the bitcoin network and it's potential would help encourage hodlers to keep hodling for the golden days.
5565  Economy / Economics / Re: New BSP governor had blockchain plans for gov’t budget on: March 06, 2019, 06:11:55 PM
The original blockchain was certainly designed to be that way.

As things currently stand, governments are going to be using tools that stand for freedom to be able to steal more efficiently lmao.

The blockchain could be manipulated in different ways. It is not always advisable to have an open source protocol, in some cases permission has to be restricted to a need to know basis.
If permissions we're restricted where it isn't supposed to be, that would raise suspicion.
5566  Economy / Economics / Re: Acceptance of bitcoin as payment! on: March 06, 2019, 06:07:27 PM
It was intended to be an escape for those who are averse to the control and monopoly of banks and governments. By eliminating double spending and putting control in the hands of the actual asset hodlers.

For any of this to happen it has to have a value and it's decentralized, so it's value can not be regulated. Satoshi must have anticipated a situation like these when designing the network.
5567  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Top 3 advices Regarding Bitcoin Investing on: March 06, 2019, 05:55:14 PM
- Have a well laid down objective, preferably a long term plan. Use current situation and tools to speculate on the future and invest according to your prognosis.

- Don't invest what you can't afford to lose. This statement is hackneyed, but can not be over emphasized. Regardless of the market condition, only invest spare money.

- Grow your knowledge. Read books, articles, watch videos, listen to podcasts. You are part of a digital awakening, get the most of it.
5568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Irrational. Bitcoin could fall to $800 on: March 04, 2019, 06:08:46 PM
Once we see HODLers giving up and selling at a loss, and the true believers being mocked and ridiculed, I think we'll be there and truly have our bottom.

We may possibly have both of that happening right now. There has been so much FUD spread in the past few days about the price and that could serve as ridicule of true believers. And hodlers may as well be cutting their losses. Exchanges are always going on, so it's quite impossible to pinpoint a time when hodlers pack up.

I take FUD as well as FOMO with lots of reservation. Amd I'd prefer if members stopped propagating them here on the forum.
5569  Economy / Economics / Re: Iranian gold-backed state cryptocurrency turning out to be fake on: March 03, 2019, 07:02:06 PM
Iranian crypto will not be successful for a single reason, it is not fully decentralized and it can be speculated by creators.

There can not be full decentralization in an Iranian owned currency or that if any other country, especially when it is a stable currency and needs to be collaterized in a tangible asset which has to be stored as a central facility.
5570  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know how should be your topic title? on: March 03, 2019, 02:31:52 PM
There should also be a guide on how to use the poll option. Newbies are restricted but I still come across unnecessary polls around the forum.
Forum polls should not lose their relevance on the forum due to abuse from some members.
Is it possible to report a poll, separately from the post itself, and have a moderators remove it? If the report is valid.
5571  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature request] Chat box in bitcointalk on: March 02, 2019, 12:23:25 PM
A chat box can be useful in many ways like how we have in gambling and exchange sites.
I wish to have a chat box here, it may be helpful to have instant solutions/answers for some emergency situations.
For things which needed to be recorded for future references, we may direct for opening a new thread from chat box.

I am a regular member here on the forum, and can not contrive any real need for a chat box here on the forum. I do not frequent the gambling board, so do not know how it can be applied there. This forum is for cryptocurrency discussions.
There would surely be groups on other platforms designed to fit your demand.
A chat box on the forum would come with a lot of demands and possibly problem with spam.
5572  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exit strategy on: March 02, 2019, 12:17:05 PM
Would they be able to support millions of people withdrawing hundreds of thousands of dollars? Crypto seems fairly liquid but again if it shoots to the moon, how liquid will it really be?

It is unlikely that everyone decides to sell a the same time frame, but as an investor, you should have a strategy, which builds upwards and not just a one off sale. This is also a good way to purchase tokens.

Also if the price shoots up, this would increase the FOMO around bitcoin and attract lots of demand and conversely increase the liquidity.
5573  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scam site - do not use! on: March 02, 2019, 12:13:49 PM
This thread belongs to the Scam accusation board where it can be proven or disproved. Only confirmed scams should be posted on other boards like this, for beginners and members who do not frequent some peculiar boards on the forum.
5574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the chances of bitmain controlling more than 51%? on: March 02, 2019, 12:10:09 PM
I have gathered from this thread that the miners still control the consensus even if the company controls the pools. If the company was to at a time attempt a 51% attack, even if it does fail, would it affect the confirmation of transactions on the bitcoin network during that period?

it would be easy to detect and prove who did it! and again we are talking about millions of dollars, and that is not something you could sweep under the rug that easily.

Is there this much gain in pulling such a stunt?
5575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy FB Cryptocurrency on Popular Exchanges on: March 01, 2019, 06:45:52 PM
Going from putting a ban on ICO ads to planning your own digital asset launch is surely progress. Buy for Facebook which is finally waking up to rhe potential in the blockchain technology.
Facebook are creating their own coin and this would not have so much an impact on all other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the only coin as at now which can influence the entire cryptocurrency market
5576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What determines the newbie experience when they first come to bitcoin? on: March 01, 2019, 06:26:13 PM
I'm finding it weird that there are so many people who came here after money and not after the knowledge of how this digital money schema worked and how powerful its technology was.

I do not find it weird at all that people are more driven by my the prospects of getting money than learning more about a network protocol and how it impacts the globe. Finances drives our interests.
A number of people who may have been attracted to Bitcoin for different reasons end up getting hooked to the tech and learning more about how it works and it possibilities.
5577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jr. Member to Newbie status? on: March 01, 2019, 06:22:14 PM
I didn't find it weird because the reply that the op made is on january 25, 2018 which is the rank requirements of jr. member at that time is 30 Activity

Correct, and the account has actually been inactive since August of last year, which was before the jr member demotion to newbie.
Op if your intention on the forum is clear and well defined and aligns with the goals of the forum, then you would have no problem returning back to your previous rank or gunning for a higher status.
You can as well purchase a copper membership to be allowed to wear a signature as a newbie
5578  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese rating cryptocurrency on: March 01, 2019, 05:56:23 PM
The research centre which drew up the ratings would surely have their reasons for ranking the currencies how they did based on their own research, and this should govern their investment ventures in cryptocurrency.
You can also to do your own research.
I can not fault their list, I can only disagree and make mine based on my investment priorities.
5579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Latin America’s Biggest Bank To Release Security Token on: February 28, 2019, 07:11:04 PM
Banco BTG Pactual SA, Latin America’s largest investment bank, are planning on releasing their own security token, named ReitBZ. The Brazil-based bank is aiming to raise $15 million through an initial coin offering (ICO).

It is not a security token if they are launching an ICO, which is meant for utility tokens. They would be doing an equity distribution, or an STO, Security Token Offering.
This would act as a sort of publicity, and I do not think there is any negative to the report. Also I do not think it would have much of an impact as at yet, as more industries and sectors adopt cryptocurrency, we could haveass adoption.
5580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ★ A Complete Guideline to use forum search button properly ★ on: February 26, 2019, 05:02:29 PM
If you are reading a topic and use search button during that time then search engine will search on that topic only.
So if you search something others which isn't relate with topic then you will not get any result.

I believe this does not only apply to topics/threads. Also on boards. If you use the search button when on a specific board, you would only get responses related to that board. Only when on the home page can you search the entire forum.
