562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying bills with digital currency cards, gift cards on: April 01, 2023, 01:43:04 PM
It will be nice see people living the streets of the world with bitcoin digital pay cards.
TBH, I like this concept and we hope that all countries we saw like this, must see the good side of Bitcoin and other crypto benefits not only the downside that boils down to heavy regulation.  I just wanted to know if they use the Lightning Network which is very convenient for small transactions in a shopping mall.

In big cities are very easy to access the internet and no doubt this will happen on the streets but the most that I'm afraid of is the possible abuse or misuse of crypto as an alternative payment.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Elizabeth Warren says she’s building an anti-crypto army in new campaign on: March 31, 2023, 02:52:26 PM
If Bitcoin could survive without China, I'm sure it can survive without Massachusetts and a few other federal states.
That's right and I tend to agree with this, whether it will win or not Warren's campaign will be successful in achieving its goals is yet to be seen.  So I don't care either because IMO, the crypto industry has grown rapidly in recent years and has a large following of supporters who see it as a legitimate form of investment and a way to promote financial freedom, not only in the States and it has been proven while China banning Bitcoin.

Who will be charged on a decentralized network?
It might Elizbeth thought, with this election campaign she will get many supporters and possibly be re-elected but in fact, only those people who didn't understand the Bitcoin network works.
564  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your honest review of the Demo account? on: March 31, 2023, 12:48:48 PM
For me, the real trading education starts where demo trading ends. What do you think?
That's quite a good idea, it allows you to practice trading strategies and get familiar with the trading platform that you will use without risking real money, this can also help you to build confidence and gain experience before moving on to live to trade.  But remember this doesn't guarantee to make a profit instead, it's only gaining experience because the market moves in an unknown direction.

After this, you can also consider copy trading as a part of your success while gaining experience from demo trading at the same time copy trading will guide you from trading, copying the trades of more experienced traders would be a great idea IMO.
565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fellow Beginners Should Know This on: March 28, 2023, 11:28:04 PM
My addition.
Dont interfere with a topic that you dont know because it will create spam, especially in technical discussions.
Besides, study it first and learn more further before joining in such a discussion.

You forgot the very important that beginners should be avoided.
Copy-pasting or plagiarising from the article without citing a source, it's a mortal sin here and there's no chance if you have proven to do this.

Overall you stated was right, apply it to your self and see it on the top, good luck OP.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: March 28, 2023, 11:20:33 PM
Mixing service is not only used for illegal matter but also for legit transactions to but unfortunately the illegal matters are the only one government saw that's why they are not good with this service and shut then down for good.
It's because it becomes abused and the illegal intention has grown more than the legal one due to a very well-known mixing service and the unique process of protecting your privacy.  Because this is the fact, Bitcoin mixing isn't inherently money laundering, it's simply a tool that can be used for both legitimate and illegitimate purposes, depending on the intentions of the users.

Chipmixer was a victim and abused for illegal activities because it can be used for illegal purposes, such as to hide the proceeds of criminal activity or to evade taxes, and even can clean dirty Bitcoin into a clean but not for a purpose of enhancing privacy.  It might be because of this matter the authorities take action to seize this kind of service because it's abused.
567  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading ETH/USD or ETH/BTC on: March 28, 2023, 10:58:48 PM
Can you give me insight, do you think trading via ETH/BTC is more profitable than ETH/USD? Please give me an advice.
It varies in the market condition which we don't know the exact answer to because of the fact that the crypto market can be highly volatile, which can make it difficult to predict price movements accurately.  So it's up to you which suits you, if you feel the market has a correction, stablecoin trading pair is the best shot, and if you know that the market becomes recovering then Ethereum or Bitcoin pair is the best trading pair since it's possibly more profitable due to the high volatility.

All of these need to have dip research before taking such action, your technical and fundamental analysis are should be followed which are your priorities.
568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible things that gives beginners problems on: March 27, 2023, 11:59:32 PM
Paraphrasing and  Plagiarism.
That's a common practice when you dive into a topic or discussion that you didn't know.  So don't interfere with a discussion that you don't know, that's simple as that.  Or if you've researched it from an article, always cite the original source of the information, even if you have paraphrased it, to give credit where it is due.

IMO, it takes me almost a half hour to think about what I've posted, and always hit the "Preview" button before I will post it.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi Nakamoto Sign a message and transfer some Bitcoin from Genesis Block? on: March 27, 2023, 11:29:28 PM
If Satoshi Nakamoto Sign a message and transfer some Bitcoin from Genesis Block ?
If Satoshi signs a message with the private key from the Genesis block and moves some Bitcoin from the same address, it could be strong evidence of his identity.  But I highly doubt he will never do that, he is not dumb to ruin his real life once he reveals himself and it could be he becomes subject to lawsuits, government regulations, or even criminal charges.

I would like to stop thinking that Satoshi will reveal himself in the future or there's a chance to reveal himself in public and brings solid evidence just to convince people.  Just respect his decision to remain anonymous, besides, without him, Bitcoin continued to succeed and be widely adopted in different countries.
570  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another mixer with chips? on: March 27, 2023, 11:12:15 PM
I can't find any mixer with the same concept as ChipMixer since it was seized by the government no alternative can give clean coins with past dates.

Why not create a new non-custodial wallet and send your mixed coins to that wallet and let it hold for a couple of days or weeks? Then send it anywhere you want it will likely be the same as Chipmixer where they mixed coins and hold BTC to any unique addresses with a private key.
I tend to agree with this, there's no other alternative that has the same concept as Chipmixer, it's a big loss for those who concern about their privacy since it was seized.  AFAIK, tumblers/mixers typically rely on a central party to operate the service, which means that there's some level of trust required, and most mixers now that have left was new in this business and it's likely can't be trusted IMO.

Talking about Coinjoin I think that is much better even though it's not a perfect solution and may not be completely effective in all cases but at least it enhanced your privacy.  You can use the Wasabi wallet or the Samourai wallet which offer Conjoin services, they are also open-source wallets.
571  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info/com questions on: March 27, 2023, 10:51:28 PM
With stuff like this I always think they make it as hard as possible for people to get out their old bitcoin holdings, so they can at some point take those holdings for themselves. Is this here the case, or is it not possible for the owner to access the funds?
It's possible but I didn't hear it yet.
This would be an unethical business practice to them and would likely result in legal action if discovered but however, but I've never heard of a case like this before.  The most common problem is that there's no customer support and it takes how many months before they will answer your queries or your ticket, in short, they have poor customer support.

There's no problem if you've your 12 words seed, you can Brute-force your online blockchain.info wallet with btcrecover.
572  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism Vs Scam on: March 26, 2023, 11:25:14 PM
Plagiarism can always be checked by forum staff using specialized services, or users who report cases of plagiarism always confirm the plagiarism with links to the sources. In this way plagiarism is provable. With the facts of fraud is quite different. To confirm the fact of fraud we need to investigate many factors, no one from the staff will do this. Plus, there is the possibility of staff interest in a particular investigation. That is why fraud is not moderated on the forum.
This is the right answer to OP's question, it's as very simple as that.
Because if someone commits plagiarism it's easy to conclude that they plagiarized with someone because of the reports while fraud needs investigation that the forum staff or admin never do that since the forum isn't moderated fraud activity. Besides, the forum doesn't want a biased decision when judging a fraud and that is why we have DT members (forum police) who investigate fraud.  That's why we have a Trust system and how it will work to warn someone here in the forum.

I think you need to read the rules and guidelines here in the forum so better you understand further.
573  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What your opinion? on: March 26, 2023, 11:00:07 PM
We're all welcome when it comes to trading with the same goal of making money.
But put in mind if you're ready in this field, yes, it's open to anyone but trading isn't for everyone, trading is for those people who are willing to learn from different aspects.

This is my advice that you should do before doing trading
  • Educate yourself regarding trading, from technical to fundamental analysis
  • Start small amount that you can afford
  • Find a good exchange platform that has also a copy trading feature where you can practice.
  • The last but not the least, stop -loss
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legal side to promoting bitcoin. on: March 26, 2023, 10:49:34 PM
I think that the SEC is very correct in penalizing any influencers who promote ICOs or glorifying any risky investment opportunities.
This was what I thought, it's a rare case that someone celebrity has been penalized by SEC because they promote Bitcoin, it's always those people who promote ICOs who promote investments solely for monetary gain and are not necessarily endorsing them based on their own beliefs.

AFAIK, Steven Seagal was charged by SEC in 2020 because of promoting a cryptocurrency called "Bitcoiin2Gen" without disclosing that he was paid for his endorsement.  Also, in 2017, hotel heiress Paris Hilton was paid to promote an ICO called "LydianCoin" on social media without disclosing her financial interest.  More and more because they promote ICO but it's a rare case promoting Bitcoin.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Crypto Privacy Coins and Mixers Illegal ? on: March 25, 2023, 11:59:46 PM
I tend to agree as said above, the legality of crypto privacy coins and mixers depends on the specific laws and regulations in each country or state which means it matters in regulations and laws in certain jurisdictions.

While the use of privacy coins and mixers might not be illegal in some countries, but the fact that they might be used for illegal activities such as money laundering or terrorist financing.  Therefore, some regulatory bodies may take action against users who use privacy coins or mixers to engage in illegal activities, even if the use of these technologies is not directly illegal.

So the insight depends on which country you are in and it should not be illegal to use and shouldn't be forced to shutdown.
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found this meet satoshi nakamoto on: March 25, 2023, 10:38:16 PM
I dont trust Youtubers, they only create videos for content and to gain more views and followers, for bad YouTubers, they're bad influencers and paid those shills.  I don't believe until there's concrete proof to definitively identify Satoshi Nakamoto, any claims about their identity should be treated with caution and skepticism.

IMO, just respect of what Satoshi's decision, to remain anonymous isn't only a matter of respecting their personal choices and privacy, but also of recognizing the importance of privacy and personal autonomy in the digital age besides, Satoshi Nakamoto itself don't have full control over all Bitcoin supply, it's us, the Bitcoin supporters.
577  Other / Meta / Re: Can I merit a banned account? on: March 21, 2023, 11:25:44 PM
No, you won't get banned but why would you even want to? Seems kinda futile to do so.
I think he'll also be thinking in his mind; how well can I really identify a banned account?...maybe for that reason, if he ever had Smerits, he'll have to wait to be really sure he's not tryna cause unnecessary arousal...lol, the dude be so perspicuous...
Dude, do well to follow them Bpip links to be able to ascertain a banned profile Least youget screwed by tryna be applauding...Yeah? "Screwed".. cus that's what it feels like wasting resources when you don't even have anyone left.

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
I'm thinking the same way, it might OP think it's a waste of resources (smerit) when meriting a banned account, or even an inactive account.  My advice on this is just installed [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome, you can manage different features on you web extension such as like this,

In this way, you can easily spot a banned account like this and it's worth meriting active accounts.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: March 21, 2023, 11:00:08 PM
This period do not encourage trading or investment but at the same time when price is down is good opportunity to buy cheap and when its explode you will gain it. Nothing is lost in bitcoin, those holding for long now are the great benefactors but if you buy this period is more safer.

If I have money now, I would buy half of bitcoin because in next three months it will double the current price. This is real because it always occur this way after 5 years remember in 2011 and 2017 from the market charts and caps. And this year will break more even.
It might you're talking about buying Bitcoin in a DCA way which is a good practice in purchasing Bitcoin.
It's pretty common now that people treat Bitcoin as storing the value as an investment, not using it as an alternate payment system.

Keep in my mind that the current market conditions are unpredictable and volatile, so investing based solely on historical trends may not always yield favorable results.  Be sure the amount that you invested is only the amount that you can afford to wait to make a profit.
579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding the mechanics of an atm bitcoin purchase on: March 21, 2023, 03:11:12 PM
Thank You All very much for the help  :-)
Feedback us here when you've successfully purchased.

Transfer to a desktop wallet for subsequent use.
If you've enough budget for the wallet, it's better to buy or purchase a hardware wallet, it's totally safe for storing your Bitcoin.
In incase you're choosing the right one, here's a list, [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+)

Bitcoin ATMs charge you high transaction fees between 6.5% to 20%. I don't think you will want to use it if you have other options and in reality you have other options like Bisq, Paxful and other marketplaces which can be centralized exchanges or decentralized,  peer-to-peer exchanges/ marketplaces.
Not only with high fees, but it also has lower exchange rates compared to other exchange platforms, which can result in you paying more for Bitcoin than you would on a traditional exchange that is suggested above.
580  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinomi wallet hacked, all funds stolen on: March 21, 2023, 02:59:49 PM
How do you hold them liable or prove it, they are closed source and you cannot verify their codes or check if they did something behind the scenes that caused the loss, so there is no case to even begin with. And i am sure their terms of service would read that they are not "liable for any customers loss"...
I don't know any wallet that can be held responsible for the actions of its users, open or closed-source. If Coinomi (or any other wallet for that matter) was stealing money left and right, you would have hundreds of people finding this forum the same way OP did and sharing their stories of waking up one day and noticing all their crypto was gone. But we don't have that.
Mostly some cases that I've heard in Coinomi wallet are that frustrating with huge fees but not losing their fund or being scammed.
It might difficult to hold their developers or providers liable for any loss of funds (even any wallet, an open-source, close-source, and even software wallet).  Without access to the source code, it can be challenging to prove any wrongdoing on their part or determine if any vulnerabilities in the code led to the loss.  As also many we can see that most wallets will include disclaimers in their terms of service to protect themselves from liability in case of a loss.

Quote
I think the most nefarious client that is often mentioned in the scam accusation board is Freewallet.
Worst than the Coinomi wallet and I tend to agree with this.
