I will soon be repaying everyone on arklan's behalf (he will owe me the amount that I will send to his lenders). This is to simplify things (1 lender to repay).
The current lender details I have that will be paid out (please confirm):
ducatitalia - 1BTC - 1LUwMs4QJNPWZmaSrD4Uk8SrHSkbaGvqt4 botany - 0.50BTC - 1GiZCixEQeDi2NfbsUXbo9DWmj1E9a4Nfn Magic8Ball - 1.20BTC - 1HCzqGjDUjmV53LJNrrFQhyF5nvgoSufAp
Sum of 2.70BTC, repayment will be 2.88BTC from arklan to me.
I have not included fees for anyone. If arklan decides to include late fees, they will be paid by him separately.
My current repayment needed is: 1.35BTC not including this loan.
As soon as I send the respective amounts to the 3 other lenders, arklan's debt to them is repaid and I will be the sole creditor (to whom arklan owes 4.23BTC plus any late fees). Arklan may still owe the other lenders late fees.
Slight update. Magic8Ball will be paid 1.20 BTC. Total repayment and interest adjusted accordingly. https://blockchain.info/tx/633d5b874bed98d2e302db58b5d2d69a8ec12f3853aec9c714da0ec886be3b4aAll lenders have been repaid, I am the sole lender to whom arklan owes 4.23 BTC before fees. just for records sake - i confirm the above. 4.23 to marcotheminer.

having slept (i don't get enough sleep during the week and work 10 hour shifts, so saturday night is when i'm sorta at my worst) i'm thinking more clearly. yea, the .3 magic8ball is asking for is cool as a late fee. i'd gotten his and botany's mixed up, as botany's loan isn't due yet... sorry.
Yikes. My loan is clear. 0.5 BTC. Your choice whether to refinance or not. wait, what? you mean marco paid you, right? cause if otherwise i'm confused.

Updated once again. I made a summing error.
Total to be repaid without fees is 4.23BTC.
I'll send everything to current members as soon as possible.
All good.

I haven't seen anything in this thread about magic8ball agreeing to a fiat based loan. However his loan was due in early feburary so I think it would be fair that he be paid an amount above what was originally agreed that was due to him - at least this is what he should be asking for.
If marco does not trust that arklan to not run away with 2 BTC that is sent to him directly (and to not use such funds to repay lenders) then he should not repay lenders directly and expect to receive payment directly as this is essentially the same thing.
Fair enough. But I'd rather take care of repayments myself (to avoid any possible conflict) since I'll be the only creditor. I'm sure arklan is fine with that? having slept (i don't get enough sleep during the week and work 10 hour shifts, so saturday night is when i'm sorta at my worst) i'm thinking more clearly. yea, the .3 magic8ball is asking for is cool as a late fee. i'd gotten his and botany's mixed up, as botany's loan isn't due yet... sorry. and of course i have no problem with marco paying my lenders direct.

The right thing to do in this case would have been for Marco to give Arklan a loan, and for Arklan to take up repayment with individual lenders. Would have lessened complications.
No, since arklan would then have the chance to run with 2+ BTC. Not that I don't trust arklan (I do), but I'd like to limit risks. You are right. I hadn't considered that. You could have done it in 3 or 4 transactions, with each transaction sufficient to pay off one lender. Alternatively, arklan should have done the talking, finalized things and you could have stepped in when payment was required. his post kinda jumped the gun while i was at work. very strict no cell phone/non work computer use policies. i'd PM'd him before work and at lunch. his post here was during the second half of my shift. not complaining mind you. just clarifying.

so, interesting wrinkle. Magic8Ball is now asking, via PM, for 1.2 btc, not .92... apparently he's doing the math in USD. i'm telling him as politely as i can that btc was loaned and btc will be repaid... but i felt it should be publicly known. charging me more for early repayment just rubs me the wrong way, even if there's a third person involved. not like i could exactly predict the price would drop after all.
As I told Magic8Ball: Had you agreed on USD pegged repayment when you made the loan? If not the it'll be paid in terms of BTC. nope. we had not. and i did so expecting the price to climb significantly. he's judiging it now as late fees... i'm... displeased. and done talking about this tonight. too tired.

Marco this is probably not a very good idea. In the event that he does not repay then you will be out several BTC. He is already late on the loan and most banks tend to value loans to be worth less when the borrower is late. You would probably be able to negotiate with the various lenders to buy their debt from them at a discount, which would increase your potential reward in the event that he actually can repay Bite me. I agree with everything Marco said. I can guarantee $200 0 in btc Bi-weekly, on pay days. Like today. I'm exhausted from lack of sleep though... Soon as I get home in passing out, I hope.

Hello there arklan...please let me know the plan going forward and how much time you need. This loan carries a significant late fee of 0.1 BTC/day...we need to make arrangements... Terms of this loan have been renegotiated. arklan has made a payment of 0.5 BTC. The remaining amount due is now locked in at 1 BTC, due April 15, 2015. This means total repaid will be 1.5 BTC, rather than the original 1.2 BTC. Late fee provision is waived for two additional months until April 15, 2015, to give time to get affairs in order. If arklan is not able to repay the remaining 1 BTC balance due by that date, a new late fee of 0.1 BTC per week with be enforced (rather than per day). Again, this is to ensure the loan is paid off at some definitive point. Updated loan terms: Borrowing Member: arklanLoan Date: December 4, 2014 Loan Amount: 1 BTC Amount to be Repaid: 1.5 BTC, 0.5 BTC paid on February 16, 2015, 1 BTC balance remains Due: April 15, 2015 Late Fee: 0.1 BTC for each week late confirm the above. Responding to this as requested arklan...per our renegotiated terms above, 1 BTC is owed by April 15, 2015. Repayment is not required until that date, although late fees would be due there-after. As an aside--was pleased to hear of your turn of fortune...seems all your diligence has literally and figuratively paid off. Congratulations to you. Hello arklan...hope all is well. Courtesy reminder that this loan is due by next Wednesday, April 15...outstanding balance is 1 BTC. yea, i know. payday is tomorrow.

At least LEOCoin victims might have some sort of legal recourse.
Well, someone apparently managed to avoid "legal recourses" in Pakistan by closing shop and moving out of the country before the Pakistani SEC could bite them. That experience may come handy again in the future. You mean "triumphed over jackbooted statist thugs"? Flawless victory ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) perspective is a very important thing.

thanks. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) assuming relative stability of price, that repayment shouldn't be a problem. Glad to hear, hoping to clear my two loans soon! no worries, i'll get them done. but right now i've got $500 worth in a speeding ticket plus and car that isn't registered or inspected AND has a coolant leak, so as i said previously, my paycheck tomorrow is going ot have to handle that stuff. i'll get more for bitcoin in two weeks.

Many of the early adopters that I know have cashed out the amount that they initially invested so that they are left will all house money...and are just watching from the sidelines right now
bingo - this describes my situation perfectly. I actually have cashed out some of the house money also, but still hold a small amount. Mainly because I believe in the concept, but also to "give back" a little. What's house money? One thing I find interesting is what will happen if we see another massive boom price rise. Will many of the second wave of bitcoin investors cash out and then leave or will they keep holding? I think there's sadly a lot of get rich quicksters so many would likely dump their stash if we hit in excess of 1k again quite rapidly. i think that very thing - get rich quicksters - is part of what's holding a rapid rise back. they're desperate to profit, so they're selling a bit on any spike, thus shutting it down before it gathers steam. so we have more to overcome to really boom. i still think it'll happen eventually, but my guess at time scales is totally destroyed. i figured for sure it'd happen by now. i'm glad it hasn't though - time for me to actually accumulate some!
