5721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Age restriction in gambling on: April 19, 2020, 09:12:58 AM
I wonder what would be a 5 year old kid bet, 3 candies and a lollypop?  Cheesy

You can start gambling when you are ready to realise what and how much you can lose. Some people understand that at the age of 5, someone dont understand that at the age of 55. There should be no age restriction, but person should understand all the consequences.

That is the minimum age limit, it does not mean that a 5 year old will go ahead and gamble for candy.

Still I am not sure why did they decide to set the minimum age limit as 5. I mean what was the government thinking when they were deciding the age limit?
5722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reputation at stake will you stop gambling on: April 19, 2020, 08:42:10 AM
for me being a gambler is not a bad reputation and should not be for anyone else if it is not an addiction, indeed I am proud to be a decent player...
You already clarified that there are classifications in gambling.

Decent gamblers
- Playing with limitations and self control

Occasional Gamblers
- Plays only to have fun and to Kill boredom

Addicted Gamblers
- Plays continuously without any care for future but only needs to win and justify His addiction.

so Yeah it can be a Bad reputation or Not depends in which you are from those 3.

I do not understand how can you divesify a a gambler in three different categories. A gambler is an addict who gamblers and that is the pure definition. If you gamble on e in a month you still are fullfiling your addiction. The only difference is that you are less addicted towards gambling.
5723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: April 19, 2020, 08:38:24 AM
Finally there is some good news for the PSL fans.

PCB to reschedule remainder of PSL 2020 matches in Nov, Dec: Ehsan Mani

Quote
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reiterated that its first priority is to hold the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 matches later this year and has identified a window in November and December.
Just 3 matches and they can do this all any time in these months without any problem but happy we have some good news about this all in this lock down.

I don't think it would be that easy to schedule these 3 matches anytime. They need to align with the foreign players who are part of these three matches if they are free at that time and also they have to see which other tournaments are planned by the ICC at the particular time so that there is no conflict of interest for the players.
If these were some domestic club cricket with local player then it was not a big deal but when it involves international players then yes it's not very easy. By the way, although no one knows which way we are moving (pandemic crisis) but November and December seems very reasonable time frame. I hope by then we will have normal lifestyle.

I doubt we can ever come back to normal life style again. The virus will be gone by that time but precautions will become a mandatory part of our life. Some of the major changes will be that people will never shake hands and social distancing will be practiced and will be considered a good habit. Another major thought will be that people can work form home (as it would have been tested successful for 2- 3 months) and hence a lot of costs could be save for office rents and travel to office costs etc. The world will be different before and after covid-19.

At the moment till a cure is out we do need to maintain social distancing and stay indoors. After the lockdown is over and incase there is no cure we can only keep ourself safe by following the same set of rules.

I think it is just a matter of time that a vaccine comes out in the market against his virus. Various countries are working on it and by the end of this year we should be hearing good news against this virus.
5724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have control or not? on: April 19, 2020, 07:24:02 AM
I might say, you can not achieve self control when you don't have a mindset of a responsible gambler.
And what the mindset of a responsible gambler exactly? Can you describe it, buddy?
In my newbie perception, being a responsible gambler means you must know the priority of your funds and can manage it properly. For example, you will limit your funds to play daily, so if you have spent the money allocated for gambling that day, you kindly stop playing gambling at that time and play again tomorrow. Is that thing you mean above, buddy?

That could be a good basis if we have to define a being a responsible gambler. You have limits, budget and time wise. So it's not just about the capital you're going to spend, but you also need to understand that time is only one element that you need to consider when you're a gambler.

If you can't control your money and all you have to do is to play and spend more time on gambling platforms whether it's online or physical casinos then you can be categorically call gambling addicts.

It is not easy for an addict to control his addiction, that is why it addicts go for professional help. On pare and while writing it sounds so easy but in practical it is very hard. I have tried several time to control and overcome my addiction of smoking but have alway failed.

I have seen people getting destroyed because of gambling addiction but still they prefer gambling first over anything.

There is nothing like a responsible gambler a gambler is a gambling addict.

Now this is again a problem: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/news/covid-effect-icc-member-boards-running-serious-risk-of-financial-bankruptcy/articleshow/75207196.cms

Their investments are all stuck and all predict that this year there won't be any matches played. This business is so risky? No cricket for a year and they can go bankrupt?

These are bad times and o my the fittest will be able to survive. I am not sure what ICC can do in such situation but Rich boards can certainly help these poor board by donating some money.

As long as this virus is active and spreading there will be sever problem for all. IMF has already predicted a sever recession coming soon. I have not heard a single news related about a cure. Untill a cure is out things will remain the same.
5726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Online Gambling Charity Fundraiser for Covid-19 Donation on: April 19, 2020, 07:08:11 AM
I saw a gambling platform that has raised funds for helping the medical care front liner in the US.
I always impressed those big companies who are willing to help any frontline people because I am one of them and I know that protecting gears is very important to them.

And the gambling platform fundraiser said,

We all know that they are the oldest crypto gambling that until now has been existed, I think this is the time to share their profit.
What do you think, a fully established gambling platform like this should need to help and share their revenue to the victim of COVID-19?
Let us discuss below, probably if there is another gambling platform owner who has a kind of heart and helping people.
Nevertheless, let us know other's opinion.

Disclaimer: I am not promoting them, I just want to discuss those gambling platforms who are willing to help those people who are the victim of COVID-19.

The world's richest country needs donation to fight covid 19 and poor countries like Nicragua are well equiped according to them.

What a big joke?

I doubt their motive now!
5727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 18, 2020, 02:51:19 PM
Yes I live in Australia and compared to the rest of the big countries in the world, Australia has done a great job at containing the spread of the virus. The country isn't in full lock down as most states are at stage 3 but stage 4 will be a full lock down except for super markets for food and pharmacies. To have just over 6,500 cases compared to most countries is good with a population of over 24 million, the cases have been going down as well and like I said winter is coming which could be a danger period. If Australia can keep it under control then we could see the T20 world cup go ahead on time or maybe delayed a month or two. The Australian summer starts in December so there is a lot of time to get the tournament started.

The Australian government did an exceptional job and it is one of the handful of countries where the number of actives cases is going down. A month ago, they used to have 400 to 500 new cases per day, and this number has been reduce to 40 to 50 cases now. Those countries which refused to implement lockdown (such as Brazil and Sweden) are now paying dearly for it.

Few egoistic leaders have ruined their country and those who understood the situation went ahead and implemented lockdown for the betterment of their citizens.

You need to think out of the box in such situations. The root cause of all these problem is the red dragon which is still not helping the world against this virus.
5728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL Mutual Pool Discussion. on: April 18, 2020, 02:00:20 PM
I saw that this year IPL has been completely cancelled officially by BCCI while surfing on my mobile.Did anyone see that from official twitter accounts?

According to my information it's suspended, not cancelled. Plz scroll up, I have posted updates. They didn't posted anything on twitter but it's official announcement.

The news from the centre is With India in lockdown, IPL 2020 suspended till further notice

This was expected and this is now official.
Okay, just now visited the official announcement and highly no chance of playing this year based of cricbuzz statement. And I don't think they will host matches on statiums which are mentioned by other members because they may not get enough audicence to watch and also we don't know that we will control corona in that real soon.

Yeah it has been indefinitely postponed. I do not see any possibility of this season happening this year. India Government has already extended the lockdown till May and after May there will be restriction to gathering and organising events. So, forget IPL this year.
5729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next monster on: April 18, 2020, 12:06:15 PM
I've been reading the archives of this forum over the past few days for the first posts about Ethereum, Binance, XRP etc.

Many posters calling them scams and shitcoins initially and a number of posters praying for Ethereum to get to $10 so they would become millionaires. I want people to look back at this thread in years to come and highlight the posters that predicted the next huge altcoins and it would also be good to see what people are investing in outside the top 100.

I'll start - NULS.

Maybe the best tech I have come across with an extremely dedicated team and great community. With it's easy to use staking platform, chain factory and Nerve - the decentralised digital asset service network I think this coin will start making moves into the top 20 over the next year. Constantly ranked in the top 10 projects on CCID (China based crypto ranking) it's only a matter of time before this project explodes.

Let me know your dark horses for the next big altcoin..

What happened to Bitcoin is history now and what will happen in couple of years from now will decide who will be the next monster. In my opinion, I think there are three contenders and they are Ethereum, EOS, and BNB.

If you can hodl these three you have a chance to become the next crypto millionaire.
5730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Enough of bounty scam, you can help to stop it too. on: April 18, 2020, 11:58:52 AM
There is nothing to stop in bounty haven, scammers are everywhere and what we have left is research but there is more that meet the eye, either quality projects or not there is no certainty, bounties are full of risks, just do your best and pray for better luck
you're right, we can only reduce it. however, they will continue to try to make new things as real, but that is all a fraud. even some people make the project a scam at the end of the project.

This is an ongoing issue for the last two or three years now. We sit and discuss and no one acts according to the discussion here. I personally think we individually need to be more vigilant and careful while joining a bounty program as we are responsible for our own work.
5731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coronavirus ain't helping on: April 18, 2020, 11:56:28 AM
There is a real chance that people will start paying close attention to cryptocurrencies.Although it is likely that most will prefer to store their funds in a Fiat currency. But this is not accurate. So far, I do not see a special impact of coronavirus on the increase in capitalization.
Yes, specifically the coronavirus impact on cryptocurrency is invisible, only in this case everyone is alarmed by the covidand pandemic19, which has inadvertently affected the cryptocurrency market.

The market has been impacted by this virus and it shows with the price of Bitcoin. It is still struggling to stay on 7k. Before halving I expected a small bull run and thought that the price of Bitcoin will reach easily to 10k. Which I think will not be possible anymore

Now I fear what will happen after the halving how low with the market go?
5732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we are not having more houes like freebitco.in[unique cases of freebitco.in] on: April 18, 2020, 11:32:51 AM
I just wonder about freebitco.in's business model.

I started using them as a faucet (at that time I was not aware of what is dicing nor hi-lo games) but I have been a daily visitor of them for obvious reasons like some free satoshi and affilaite income.

Purpose of this topic :
It may trigger some ideas to business people who are right now hunting for concepts for their upcoming gambling business.

The unique cases of freebitco.in :
1. They are not showing any clickbait advertiements even they make us to visit them every hour.
2. I guess only gambling house which allows its users to withdraw without playing a single roll and without any deposits.
3. Other houses started adding options to play even with stablecoins after altcoins but they are sticking with ONLY bitcoins.
4. Afflicate program applicable even with faucet claiming.
5. Lots of other rewards like daily interests for the balances and redeemable reward points.

Their statistics are showing like so far they have paid out (or won by users) 208,000+ number of bitcoins which makes me think about like, is this house owned by Mr. Satoshi Nakamotto for the reason for spreading awareness on bitcoins (which is the basic functionality of faucets)?

Things have changed quite significantly after 2017. Faucets are useless as compared to what they were earlier. I was using this website earlier but stopped because it is very slow and you cannot sit down in front of it the whole day. There are other better option in the market.
5733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does good side of gambling overcomes its negative side? on: April 18, 2020, 08:37:55 AM
Okay like everything in this world gambling to has a good side and a bad side. I have not seen the good side a lot. In my opinion the good side does overcome the negative side for only that particular instance. The instance that I am reffering to is when you are winning but, that never stays llong.
5734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers are betting on Trotting and Marbles due to Coronavirus on: April 18, 2020, 08:32:50 AM
I would like to know if you’ll have ever gambled on Trotting, and marbles if yes how was your experience gambling on it.

I don't know what Trotting, I just read it above and in terms of marble, I never thought it would be that mainstream this lockdown.

Been seeing a lot of streams playing marbles and I even saw a Facebook video in the past shoutcasting a marble tournament in a track or obstacle he just made. I also watched a tournament in 2018 in Southern England about a Marble Tournament and I don't even think that people would bet on it, I mean people are just that bored I think.

I am not here how this works, I need to check those videos to understand this form of gambling. In lock down you generally do not have anything Tom do as you are restricted to one small location. In that location you have to be innovative to play new games and convert them to gambling games.
5735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 18, 2020, 07:59:15 AM
This caption is very strange. How did Srilanka win the match by default ?
They played a better game and won it through their hard work and not by default.  Cheesy

No need to feel bad about the terminology. That is a standard one. The match was abandoned due to crowd disturbance and Sri Lanka was declared as the winners, since they were ahead as per the Duckworth/Lewis rule. Back then, it used to be very difficult to control the crowd. After a few such incidents, the BCCI ordered the construction of barricades around the stands, and these sort of incidents never got repeated.

I still remember vinod kambli existing the stadium in tears and the crowd in kolkata still vandelizing the property and throwing bottles and papers to srilankan players. That was one of the worst crowd related incident in the history of Indian cricket.

5736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: April 18, 2020, 05:49:55 AM
This is how business work!

They utilise an employee when they needed them the most and when these employee need the business to help them they just ignore them or throw them out.

As a human being this sounds bad but this is the truth. We need to live with it.
5737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: April 18, 2020, 05:43:51 AM
I know people who are day traders and they are living for that but it's the other way around and not in crypto. The comparison of day trading and gambling isn't vague and odd. There's really similarity for both ends but they are entirely unique on their own ways of making strategy.
How you will win your bets and same goes by for your trades.

but if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture gambling doesn't have a money back guarantee, trading on the other hand ensures that you can still get the money back though you have a loss.
The logic is just the same with gambling and that's why you see gamblers taking back their losses and gamble again.

How can they bothe have similar logic?

Gambling has house edge and in trading exchanges do not. Both, use different logic, gambling platfor control the outcome and exchange depends on the community who are controlling the outcome of a trade.

They both are completely different entities. Day trading is part of trading which is done on an exchange and exchanges depend on the community of traders. The community decides how a particular asset will perform, you need different set of skills ans logic for that.

5738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: April 18, 2020, 05:23:46 AM
If you have got the bankroll to handle it, and are not aversed to losing large amounts before recouping your money, then the Martingale strategy should eventually return players to parity.

Correct if you have the bank roll then you can give it a try. But, I would never recommend it to anyone as it might not work on most of the occasion. I have tried it multiple times and failed on most of the occasion.

5739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? on: April 18, 2020, 05:18:15 AM
Anytime is good to come out of gambling adiction when you have realised that it is enough. It is not at all easy and you would need professional help. Staying sober is a big responsibility, I have seen people calling back after a period of time.

Due to the virus outbreak people are not able to visit a casino but they are still able to gamble online which means you need self realisation to stop this addiction.
5740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Age restriction in gambling on: April 18, 2020, 05:12:28 AM
Just curious how is it even possible to gamble at the age of 5? Grin Grin Grin

Unless, it is not the kid that is gambling but someone at a right age that doesn't wanna get tracked down right? Well, the point is, the age restriction system will not really work here unless they implement KYC system with real time verification. Because merely, an ID's could still be used to steal identity to a person if they really want to gamble with a restricted age.

I actually didn't think about it before. Thanks for sharing a different point of view. Also, agreed that KYC implementation make users more 'vulnerable' to data leaks but in general KYC is needed for projects that aim to be legal and fair.

But what keeps a kid from faking his ID making it look like he's old enough? I saw many KYC procedures that asks that a user uploads he's ID front and back side and that's it. What is keeping a kid to "photoshop" his ID to show he was born in 2000. and not in 2010.?

I am not the expert but KYC people probably can detect a fake photoshopped id from the real scan unless it is done professionally. Would they care enough to go after you? I have doubts.

From my experience, they usually let anyone play on the casino until the players starts winning big and only then, KYC team starts taking its job seriously. Till then, nobody cares.
It's easy to determine a photoshopped id, try to zoom in and check if the pixels are unusual, which means it's being warped or something edited on it. Valid ID always has patterns, some are government logos printed, and watermarks so you can check if it's symmetrical or not. But agree that KYC isn't a biggie unless you've made a scene on a casino house.
do you think a casino will be interested to verify a fake ID by following your way. I am sure they would not untill it has been asked by the authorities. They will allow them to gamble as long as they have an ID.
