Was thinking of RMAing it, but I have never dealt with MSI RMAs and based on what I've read about MSI RMA process, not sure I'd get one before ASICs arrive  He's also got an extra 5830 he's RMAing to Sapphire before he ships it out to me. Anyway, just trying to get a hold of him to resolve the situation. I'm not really worried about anything. Graet's got all my money.  |

According to BFL, shipping will begin in 2-3 weeks.. People need to be ready to milk those asics So it looks like not many pools are ready for ASICS?

if ASIC are getting delivered tomorrow, yes. BUT as ASIC will not be here until December sometime (at earliest)... plenty of time  Personally I think this thread is rather premature. That's in "BFL Time". Add 6 months for the first batch. Then assume 4-6 weeks delivery is 4-6 months for the first year. LOL! "BFL Time!" I love it. |

In general, the large pools are bad in terms of support decentralization,
I recommend the use of medium-sized
such polmine.pl which supports GBT
I'd recommend against using polmine. They stole about 4BTC from me last year when they froze payouts and then retroactively switched payout methods. |

How about the simpler approach of having standard tags on the messages. Something like:
<Sale/Buy>-<Country or region trader is in>-<Optional country or region trader is willing to trade with, assumed Worldwide unless specified otherwise>
eg.

Despite the widespread perception that they'd be first to market I chose to order elsewhere because of BFL's history of deceitful shipping date shell games. Also despite assurances that they'd do better this time, it feels like a bunch of song and dance. I can't see myself doing business with them going forward.

Guys. Why are you surprised? BFL "ship date" for FPGA Single was Oct 2011 the first boards went out in March and really didn't hit volume production until April or May. It was summer before the shipping delays were less than 2 months.
That was with off the shelf FPGA. People pre-ordered with 100% funds paid in advance. BFL risks nothing by having delays.
WHY would you expect it to be different? Based on the FPGA launch I would say add six months to the promised date and if they beat that deadline (Oct 2012 = April 2013) then consider it "early".

I mine on Slush since the begining (Dec 2010), it was the first pool created, the guy is very present, professional, and act quickly if needed. I'm very satisfied in that pool, nice website, all fine for me...

Alright, one more scenario, more extreme:
Let's assume $12/BTC, $0.25/kwh power cost, and 1000 TH network hashrate after reward halving.
Hypothetical device that does 60 GH, costs $1300, and uses 60W:
$100K buys about 4600 GH of hardware which will use about 4.6kW of power and earn about $5980 per month, minus about $830 for power, for 5.15% monthly ROI.
Hypothetical device that does 54 GH, costs $1070, and uses 405W:
$100K buys about 5100 GH of hardware which will use about 38kW of power and earn about $6630 per month, minus about $6885 for power, for -0.26% monthly ROI. Uh oh.
Hypothetical device that does 54 GH, costs $1070, and uses 120W:
$100K buys about 5100 GH of hardware which will use about 11kW of power and earn about $6630 per month, minus about $2040 for power, for 4.59% monthly ROI.
But someone with $100K to invest, ought to find a better place to setup than where power costs $0.25/kwh.
And if ~5% monthly ROI were attractive to professional miners, why has mining been historically much more profitable than that, except when the exchange rate fell toward $2? I think 10-20% monthly ROI will continue for the next year or so at least. Though a price war among mining devices could really screw ROI up.
