Because archive.is is nowadays hostile to Tor users, and it is not cryptographically secure, I have created and timestamped the below PGP-signed evidence log.  First things first:

Occam's razor says that if it quacks like Vispilio and uses Vispilio's telegram handle - it's Vispilio.

I'm so flattered Wink, but I must admit 1 man cannot run the world's leading crypto marketing business alone, check out Detective's telegram and other social media channels, you'll enjoy how vibrant and active they are,

there is a whole team behind it, and if you are still not convinced @theymos can confirm for you that one of Bounty Detective staff runs the BountyDetective nick here,

an inference that should be blatantly obvious to all but the most zealous of cult fanatics 🦁

Your purported explanation is logically backwards.  The above-quoted post directs the alleged team’s PMs and Telegram communications to an individual.  In the ordinary course of business, communications for “the whole team” would be directed to the team’s contact accounts by an individual posting on their behalf—not vice versa, as you hereby allege.

Moreover, and more importantly, an ordinary reasonable person directing team communications to an individual could be expected to say so.  For example:

Quote from: Nullian Bitcult Hypothetical Team Account
Please direct complaints to Lauda’s new address for appropriate handling by our official spokescat.  😼

Whereas you purport that this glorious team for a major operation just randomly sends people your way?  Sure, sure...

It is more likely that someone with a considerable history of obsession with seeking a “lucrative bounty” would create a “BountyDetective” account for running lucrative bounties SCAMS.  Elementary, my dear Watson.

—So much for the towering intellect of the forum’s best philosophaster.

Quote from: Nietzsche, Jenseits von Gut und Böse (‘Beyond Good and Evil’), 260.

P.S., don’t even try accusing me of being a suchmoon follower.

582  Economy / Speculation / [WO] Serious Discussion of Very Serious Professional-Class GPUs on: November 20, 2020, 04:38:27 PM
Despite its lulzy tone, this is a serious post, seeking advice from the Wall’s professional-class GPU expert brain trust.  I am a Unix terminal junkie, who does not play games or mine shitcoins—not a GPU expert!

The short opportunities continue to grow as fake news fuels the bitcoin HOAX. Little Shatoshi's project has failed as I proved years ago, but the fake news keeps fooling people into losing their money. Smart money will enter high leveraged short positions and keep them open in preparation for the epic meltdown soon to come. Bitcoin shorts will be the greatest trade, possibly in the history of the world.

Thank you. I have decided to sell based on this post.

my 1080ti gpus are now listed in the marketplace

Meh.  I guess that you are shorting your puny old consumer-grade gamer/shitcoiner hardware, because it is not good enough to mine KYC dox photos of me, photos of Lauda, knightly rides superior to a Lambo, Discordian pseudoscience, and other artworks?

  • One or more high-end NVIDIA GPUs, NVIDIA drivers, CUDA 10.0 toolkit and cuDNN 7.5. To reproduce the results reported in the paper, you need an NVIDIA GPU with at least 16 GB of DRAM.

I guess you need at least a Quadro GV100, or something like that?  With a lot lot lot of electricity...

F, pp. 20–21.]

We report expended computational effort as single-GPU years (Volta class GPU).  We used a varying number of NVIDIA DGX-1s for different stages of the project, and converted each run to single-GPU equivalents by simply scaling the number of GPUs used.

The entire project consumed approximately 131.61 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity....  Approximately half of the total energy was spent on early exploration and forming ideas.  Then subsequently a quarter was spent on refining those ideas in more targeted experiments, and finally a quarter on producing this paper and preparing the public release of source code, trained models, and large sets of images.  Training a single FFHQ network (config F) took approximately 0.68 MWh (0.5% of the total project expenditure).  This is the cost that one would pay when training the network from scratch, possibly using a different dataset.

What the fuck minimal hardware (and electricity budget) is realistically needed for entry-level playing with kitty AI?  Assuming a desire to train one’s own networks...

P.S., proudhon, I already executed an infinitely recursive short on Bitcoin shorters.  At high leverage.  Confirmed science!  Thanks for the advice.  🙃☮

My fellow Grammar Nazis, STFU.  It is intended to be a meta-pun—and I have always wanted to use her in the dative!  Also, I believe that it is correct insofar as μετᾰ has a sense governing the dative, which perfectly conveys my intended meaning.  If I be mistaken, would any pedants care to correct me?

587  Other / Politics & Society / Mondale/Ferraro BY A LANDSLIDE! on: November 20, 2020, 04:29:21 AM
I'm thinking that Biden is going to win by a landslide.

Oh, really?  ;-)

I intended to make something like this weeks ago, before the election.  But it was perforce to come with a detailed comparison and contrast* between the two scenarios; and that never got written.  Obviously, on the flipside, Trump didn’t win by a landslide; thus, this doesn’t quite work on the Trump side.  Nonetheless, as we wait with bated breath for the outcome of our bets, this is a pretty good Biden/Harris meme.

* In some part about how Reagan personally was a Christian fanatic—whereas Trump somehow managed to lock the votes of the Christian evangelical bloc, porn fans, and casino gamblers.  (Perhaps the pragmatic realpolitik in some quarters may relate to judicial appointments who are expected to slow down the process of litigious “liberals” making a sick joke of the American Constitution, although they probably will not undo the damage wrought under Soviet C.J. Earl Warren.  By the way, PN7, in the other thread where stare decisis was mentioned, you may or may not expect an essay sometime about how, e.g., you will never overturn Obergefell without first taking an axe to Loving.)  For many such reasons, I call Trump the great depolarizer of American politics—hell, he even managed to bag the antisemitic vote despite being a committed Zionist with Jewish family!  Also, Reagan was a rabid warmonger—which, rhetoric notwithstanding, Trump has not been, at least not by American standards.  Many other parts... not relevant here.

588  Economy / Speculation / [WO] Sci-fi alchemy FUD on gold on: November 20, 2020, 01:46:09 AM
Scientists create diamonds at room temperature in minutes

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/11/19/world/diamonds-room-temperature-scli-intl-scn/index.html

How long before they create gold in a lab? 20 years, 50 years? You just need a little fusion.

Can't counterfeit the corn though.

It's more a question of energy.

Also, raw materials.

Off the top of my head (not double-checking my recollection of details), Rutherford created gold in a laboratory.  He created new gold atoms from atoms of iridium, which is rarer and thus, costlier than gold.  And yes, it required energy, too.  He estimated that by his method of bombarding 77Ir with alpha particles, he could produce 79Au at a cost of about $7000/oz.  At the time, gold’s market price was $35/oz.

Of course, fulfilling the dreams of alchemy has been contemplated by modern science.  By actual scientists.

And I do not know of any existing or conjectured technology that would be less expensive in practice.  Perhaps you think to create new gold by fusing hydrogen atoms?  Eh, ask a physicist—I am not a physicist, but I suspect that you will get some high-energy gales of laughter...  N.b. that gold nuclei are much, much bigger than the biggest nuclei that can be formed from fusion that gives you energy.  (Key words:  “Binding energy”, “iron”, etc...)  Maybe try fission of bigger atoms?  Um, good luck working that out—and do not assume that no one has thought of that in the century since atomic fission was first explored!

Thus:  Can’t “counterfeit”—I think you mean, arbitrarily produce gold, either.  (The results would be real gold.  Gold can be truly counterfeited, viz., faked with gold-plated tungsten bars that will fool most buyers; caveat.)  Don’t try to FUD it with unscientific predictions about “just need a little fusion” (!).  LOL, and to become a Bitcoin whale, I “just need” a little time machine!

CONFIRMED SCIENCE!

592  Economy / Speculation / [WO] Rent from the bank via an intermediary, rent directly from the bank—or...? on: November 19, 2020, 06:10:01 AM
How can it be considered wiser to rent from an individual owner as opposed to 'renting' from the bank - you'd be obliged to either one and both could theoretically kick you out for non-payment.

How about, um, owning your own home?  As in:  Free and clear.

What a nice society you have:  The “American dream” of home ownership is truly dead, out of reach and unthinkable to the overwhelming majority of Americans.  It has been replaced by an illusion based on a false dichotomy between renting from the bank via an intermediary “landlord” who rents from a bank, and renting directly from the bank.

The banks own everything!  You are so immersed in debt culture based on debt-“backed” money and total submission to the banks, you cannot even see what is wrong with your proposition.

Bitcoin, and home ownership:  Be your own bank.  Be the king of your castle.

"The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks"
😼 Bitcoin Core (onion)

Don’t get me started on the rents known as “property taxes”.  Are you even aware of how recent a development that is in the United States?

See also:
Historically, besides heritable class status, the single most effective guarantor of voter quality was a real property ownership requirement.  [...]

Naturally, I think that such a requirement must logically exclude mortgaged properties, which (especially in today’s society) are effectively rented from the bank.

My artistic eye finds it interesting how often Kamala Harris wears white and stands against a light background, and how often photographs of this arrangement are selected.  Among other things, the contrast makes her look darker, and therefore worthier of being your Vice President.  I know a bit about image management and the selection of photographs, so this is not a wild assumption.

I know it's tempting, ... it feels great to take some deserved profit but ...

What about those who want to take profit in bitcoins?

At the nadir of the November 2018 bear mauling, I was so stonily ignoring the market that I didn’t even know how bad the crash was until someone in my personal life, who does not know that I have any Bitcoin,* casually mentioned to me some headline news so that we could share some sneers at all those idiots with their Internet money.

596  Economy / Speculation / Re: [WO] The Unforkening on: November 18, 2020, 08:07:38 AM
As you likely realize, I made my comment about the unforkening of the various forks, and the teaming up idea as a kind of ironic joke..  [...]  Anyhow, it is merely just an interesting thought experiment for me to be suggesting for the various bcash forks or the shitcoins to team up.

LOL, yes.  It is a fun mental image:  The fork coins melting back together, and becoming whole again.  Too bad for the forkers, some processes are one-way.

Cryptographic hashing, conception, birth, death...  Whoops!  The patsies for the fork coins deluded themselves into believing that they conceived and birthed something new.  But all they did was to kill themselves.  (Of course, some of the scammers running these forks probably knew exactly what they were doing all along...)

surely the various fucktwats in the bitcoin forks or the bcash forks or even projects like ethereum and other shitcoins are not going to team up... part of the reason for their various projects is to print money and another reason is to scam people into thinking that there is some kind of value in the various "technical innovations" that whatever shitcoin supposedly provides to the "crypto" (whatever the fuck that is?) space.

I myself distinguish between pure SCAMS that try to steal the Bitcoin name, and altcoins that try to make a name for themselves.  I am no fan of Ethereum, but I absolutely wouldn’t bin Vitalik together with Jihan Wu, Roger Ver, Calvin Ayre, Faketoshi, and the lot of lying forkers.

Despite my ironical “cult”, I am not religious about the matter.  If someone could make a currency that beats Bitcoin on the merits, so much the better!  Superiority should win—I am in Bitcoin because it is the best overall.

Regarding jbreher... I had not known that there was a thread about him.. He's got his own thread. Wow... not really flattering but, still..

To clarify a potential ambiguity:  He got only one anonymous post in that 2017 thread.  Poor bear!  I had to make him a thread all by my lil selfie, after he tried to muddy the waters with some obfuscatory noise in the Anastasia thread.

What a pleasure to see.

Thanks to Twitchy for bumping this!

After I returned to the forum in 2020, I found that Lauda had made a few witchcraft allusions when I was gone; but until a few days ago, I had not seen this Laudatory remembrance of my satirical encomium to her:

I will never forget her, either.

On Friday the 13th, I saw some magic:

Thirty days.  Time to refresh my signature.  Goodbye, Kitty. 😼

I was wondering what sort of carnage a furious and vengeful Trump might wreak [...]

“If Trump loses power he’ll spend his last 90 days wrecking the United States like a malicious child with a sledgehammer in a china shop,” said Malcolm Nance, a veteran intelligence analyst and political author, speaking before the result of the election was known.

AWESOME! 🧨

C’mon, Cnut!  Wouldn’t the demise of America and thus, of the American Empire be a good thing?

Alas, the Guardian’s analysis is merely hysterical TDS as expected; and moreover, the result of the election is not now known—not just yet...

Bracketed factual correction by nullius:
Not all experts believe a Trump “lame duck” presidency [would] be completely volatile.

:-(

America is an abomination, the very worst “evil empire” in all of recorded or recoverable history.
