Hello again, 18000 my old friend!

Goodmorning Explorer how are you doing?

While asleep (woke up on the dinner table, blaming the Whiskey, lol)  the prise rose to $18,500 followed with a nice $1,400 dump and back to $18,000.

Bitcoin is a beast not to play with, i wonder how many people getting rekt.

As you likely realize, I made my comment about the unforkening of the various forks, and the teaming up idea as a kind of ironic joke..  [...]  Anyhow, it is merely just an interesting thought experiment for me to be suggesting for the various bcash forks or the shitcoins to team up.

LOL, yes.  It is a fun mental image:  The fork coins melting back together, and becoming whole again.  Too bad for the forkers, some processes are one-way.

Cryptographic hashing, conception, birth, death...  Whoops!  The patsies for the fork coins deluded themselves into believing that they conceived and birthed something new.  But all they did was to kill themselves.  (Of course, some of the scammers running these forks probably knew exactly what they were doing all along...)

surely the various fucktwats in the bitcoin forks or the bcash forks or even projects like ethereum and other shitcoins are not going to team up... part of the reason for their various projects is to print money and another reason is to scam people into thinking that there is some kind of value in the various "technical innovations" that whatever shitcoin supposedly provides to the "crypto" (whatever the fuck that is?) space.

I myself distinguish between pure SCAMS that try to steal the Bitcoin name, and altcoins that try to make a name for themselves.  I am no fan of Ethereum, but I absolutely wouldn’t bin Vitalik together with Jihan Wu, Roger Ver, Calvin Ayre, Faketoshi, and the lot of lying forkers.

Despite my ironical “cult”, I am not religious about the matter.  If someone could make a currency that beats Bitcoin on the merits, so much the better!  Superiority should win—I am in Bitcoin because it is the best overall.

Regarding jbreher... I had not known that there was a thread about him.. He's got his own thread. Wow... not really flattering but, still..

To clarify a potential ambiguity:  He got only one anonymous post in that 2017 thread.  Poor bear!  I had to make him a thread all by my lil selfie, after he tried to muddy the waters with some obfuscatory noise in the Anastasia thread.

Well, give brains to some and money to me is my Quote.Damn i miss the folks from 2010-13 that i met on this Forum, true Legendarys unlike.. This... whatever it is Cheesy

Dammn you Mt. Gox you suck balls really hard ! All we got left now is trash

P.S They got Electrolytes

R.I.P 2010-2013 You will be missed !

You only have yourself to blame, if you failed and refused to continue to invest in BTC after you got your money taken in MTGOX...

 Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Even if you may have only been able to afford $10 per week, you could have had a decent amount of coins by now.. even with a modest budget...

According to DCA website, you would have more than 4.5 bitcoins... which is surely not nothing.. and only would have invested $3,660.

In other words, stop your whining, and look in the mirror..

Although I see some weak-hands-whiplash during the night, now we are back above $18K. I still can't believe that so soon after the mostly bearish 3 years we are here - well above the 2x line. I mean for someone with 115% savings into BTC, it was quite exhausting to check the price over and over again and see that it either can't hold $8K, or even makes endless barts around $6.4K.

And that night in 2018 when we fell to $3.1K. Geez! I couldn't sleep well thinking from where I can get more  fiat to buy the dip. Back then the banks didn't offer big loans with good interest, or at least I didn't know about it. So I'd drained my two credit cards, although the interest of the missing sum was 14% per year. I was 30% below my average investment price. I remember when I went to the supermarket I didn't buy some expensive food, because I was so depressed. I continued to DCA until I decided to take a small loan with 4.9% yearly interest in early March. I had the opportunity to take 5x bigger sum, but I decided to wait in case some crash follows. So I've bought between $9K and $7.7K. Then the most dramatic crash I've witnessed happened. But this time I was so used to crashes, that I said to myself: meh, if this price holds for several months I will go to the bank for the new loan. But now I don't want to risk getting covid infection.

So I continued to DCA and in the summer an unexpectedly big profit in gpu mining allowed me to get even more BTC's. I know it is best not to sell anything untill 200K, but... because of my belief in Bitcoin, I took a bigger risk with these loans. So, I've decided to sell these coins, they weren't mine after all. Thus the bank will get from me several hundred bucks, while I get from it several tens of thousands  Cheesy It is time for me to close the loans, replace the damaged hardware and to learn how to hodl in exponential growths. Man, this is harder than I thought! 30K, 50K, 100K, ... how I will resist the temptation to sell too much too early, I don't know. The problem is that I have only one dream - a big luxury house or a villa at some paradise beach/island. No more greasy streets, dull life and stupid bosses and people around me! I just need to summon all my mental powers so that this change will cost me like 1/5th of my stash one day, when we are well above 100K.

Good idea to pay back some loans if you can.

Man, this is harder than I thought! 30K, 50K, 100K, ... how I will resist the temptation to sell too much too early, I don't know.

Here is my suggestion - say to yourself - "it will take 10 years for the world to catch on to this Bitcoin thing, so I will hold my coins for 10 years before I sell any, otherwise I'm selling too early".

i.e. set a time target, not a price target.

This is not a pump for ants. This is actually not our pump. This is our financial enemies' pump: they want us to sell our coins on the exchanges because they need moar. Don't sell. HOLD
Remember how stupid the human brain is: people remember the bitcoin pump in 2017 they saw it then crashed and that is all that they remember. Don't sell. HOLD
The big guys are mostly trading OTC since a while now, we don't even see those volumes (MicroStrategy, Grayscale and family don't buy on coinbase or gemini). Don't sell. HOLD

I know it's tempting, I know for some who have more than 10BTC it feels great to take some deserved profit but I am openly talking to those who made it through times and who see the big picture (even if their stash is small). Don't sell. HOLD

I shouldn't be using negatives, hence the substitutions while I was writing!

We also tied the 15000 + record which is 11 days set
in dec 2017 tied now

2020-11-06  15,570.    2017-12-21  16,033
2020-11-07  15,076.    2017-12-20  16,724
2020-11-08  15,255.    2017-12-19  17,986
2020-11-09  15,364.    2017-12-18  18,634
2020-11-10  15,325.    2017-12-17  19,110
2020-11-11  15,562.    2017-12-16  18,430
2020-11-12  15,939.    2017-12-15  17,334
2020-11-13  16,279     2017-12-14  16,351
2020-11-14  15,982     2017-12-13  16,434
2020-11-15  15,972     2017-12-12  16,854
2020-11-16  16,409     2017-12-11  16,293

so if we close at 15000 plus on the 17 we will have 2 records set and be going after the 41 day record over 12500 sec in dec 2017 to jan 2018

I will try to find out one more record the longest 10,000+ streak

I believe it was pointed out by Jay before that 2020-11-11 is 15,652. 2020-11-15 is also 15,979.

That is correct about my pointing out 11/11...  Here's the post.

I know it's tempting, ... it feels great to take some deserved profit but ...

What about those who want to take profit in bitcoins?

At the nadir of the November 2018 bear mauling, I was so stonily ignoring the market that I didn’t even know how bad the crash was until someone in my personal life, who does not know that I have any Bitcoin,* casually mentioned to me some headline news so that we could share some sneers at all those idiots with their Internet money.

* Privacy!

So, why would I pay attention now?  Sell!? Spend bitcoins to buy toilet paper!?  LOL.  I just checked the ticker, and the Bitcoin price has not changed at all!  1 BTC is still worth 1 BTC.  I can check fifty times per day, or per hour, or per minute—it still says, 1 BTC!

  • Bear market:  Shrug.  Sigh.  OK, I will try to eat less for awhile—because spending hurts.
  • Bull market:  Shrug.  Smile.  OK, prices are lower now!  Wow, my expenses are getting so much cheaper...

Not selling anything until $50k. I hedl for 2 extra years since the price was $20k so this extra hodling time should be properly remunerated.  Cool

Selling is not my concern right now. "When can we buy more?", is what I'm thinking atm Lips sealed
are you sure ?
#BTC
#Don't wait for 20K!
#Sell before 19k!
#wait under 16K!
lol

Why would I sell if I don't need the money and if I didn't "invest more than I can afford to lose"?

The billionares are getting onboard.

According to Wikipedia, his net-worth is US$13.2 billion. I wonder how much of that is in liquid assets, i.e. how much he has invested in bitcoin.
