Anybody stacking sats here (apart from mining)?

Yes I have a modest dollar cost averaging plan going on at the moment.  It also doubles as a rainy day fund for a large dip but we haven’t had one.  Which is fine by me, upward consolidation is grand.

I should've known better than to chime in to that discussion. Politics is too divisive.
I'll try to keep it to bitcoin as much as I can help it.  Smiley

Surely, you are not the ONLY one devolving into politics..

It's been a long time divergence practice here (you know as well as me), even though I would also prefer to stick to talking about bitcoin..

Sometimes, though, peeps just cannot help but to bring up the topic and other peeps cannot help but to respond when other members are presenting such topic of the day issues and some of those members even reasonably believe that there is some kind of connection with bitcoin... sometimes there is...

I am thinking:  "This too shall pass."

In other words, we just seem to be going through a kind of moment in which a lot of people are thinking and talking about such red headed political topic... Hot topic, yes, and hopefully soon NOT to be so hot, amiNOTrite?

On the other hand, probably there is going to be some other HOT/political topic in the near future.. cannot completely write it off, seems to me.

I'll admit I claimed my HEX. I didn't really know how it was going to work, but I was given 10% of what I "earned", then they locked 90% of them away for a year or something. Free money is free money though.

Sorry I brought it up...

You must be in a lureable mood, infofront...

I am pretty sure if I was a hot chick (maybe does not even need to be very hot), and I saw you pass by the park walking with your little kid.  I said..  "hey infofront, I regularly see you walking with the kid in the park.. Get rid of the kid for a few hours, and meet me back here in two hours, and we will go have some 'funzies' ." (of course, such thingies would be said outside of the earshot of said kid) I would thereby see you back in the park a couple hours later sans kiddie.    Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Oh?  I thought that it was some kind of mass mailing (e-mailing, I mean).. I did not realize that it was ONLY me receiving such e-mails.

By the way, most peeps in these here parts of the WO likely realize that I am NOT much of a shitcoiner at all... I will admit that I did claim my Bcash, though - completed most of it in late 2017... though I may have cashed out a few in 2018, too.... and I did dabble a bit in some shitcoins sporadically in my bitcoin career.. but I cannot recall my monkeying around with shitcoins to ever go 1% above my bitcoin value.. especially since about mid-2014 and thereafter, but I cannot recall doing much if anything with any of the shitcoins that I still own in recent years - I mean prior to about early 2018...   I surely do not talk much about them, unless I am specifically asked... and even then, I might not say too much.

I do recall getting an e-mail from one exchange about my Bgold that I had been able to split off of the fork in early 2018.. or something like that.... Like in mid-2019 or something like that, the exchange said that they would no longer going to support bgold.. so i did remove that bgold from such exchange  because I would have otherwise lost them... I still do hold such bgold, even though they are surely NOT worth very much, currently.. and likely NOT going to appreciate in value much if any.. who knows?  I suppose if there were a pump, I might have to figure out how to sell them?  might be quite difficult....

Anyhow, my supposed love for shitcoins is surely a well kept secret that was not even known by me... go figure.

So went down to the local bitcoin ATM to pick up a thousand in either litecoin or bitcoin. First the owner changed and now it only does BTC. Second their fucking buy price was $14,600 and sell price of $18,500. Fuck you does not begin to describe my thoughts on this matter :-)

Maybe it's time to go get a real exchange account tied to a real bank and passport and a sample of my nutter butter. For a US cit, what's the valid options these days?

I used Paxos as a test and had no issues whatsoever and received my corn within hours about a year ago with no fees.

Bitcoin price is up 50% from the time we began the purchase of the Crypto Cruise Ship.

As of 4:20PM GMT today, the MS Satoshi is now owned by Ocean Builders.

The auction for the cabins is now open:
https://oceanbuilders.com/auction-page/

You can have a cabin on the Satoshi for less than 2 BTC.

The official stamps for the ship have been made:

You are a respected person with good reputation, please don't take my comment personally. But this cruise ship story sounds so unbelievable, it makes my scam detector go wild.

anyway, great stuff. good luck!

If Elwar is a scammer then I will have lost all faith in bitcointalk, you need to do some more research.

I thought about grabbing one even though I got a buddy with a hotel I can goto anytime I want going up here.

I just had to stop by and comment on this.  It echoes something that I wrote for WO a few weeks ago, but didn’t post; it is symbolic, on so very many levels...
Following is the unpublished post, file mtime 2020-10-10, which was brought to mind by the burning violin image.  I was and am reluctant to publish this, for I have cast too many pearls already; and “you’d probably scroll on by like the unmitigated savages you all are.”  (LOL.)

European culture in 1808:  Pauline Borghese (née Bonaparte; Napoleon’s sister) poses as Venus with an apple.

Fun fact:  Pauline had an affair with Paganini.

European culture was vibrant.  —With vibrato.

THIS SPACE IS INTENTIONALLY LEFT NULL.

Modern, democratic European culture Eurovision (like “Satoshi’s Vision”?) in 2014:

Protip for the unmitigated savages:  Most, albeit not all of the images that I post in the Wall Observer and elsewhere are intentionally hotlinked from Wikimedia Commons.  Among other benefits, this provides an implicit lead on where to find more information about an image.

That which can be learned, must be earned.  Anyone who is possessed of more curiosity than the most abject dullard, and who is not a mental defective, can easily figure out how to turn the image URLs into URLs for the the pertinent Wikimedia File: pages.  Those, in turn, provide proper identification—and oftentimes, direct links to the relevant Wikipedia pages in multiple languages.  In particular, if* you love a painting or statue that I embed from Wikimedia Commons, then there is never any need for reverse image search drudgery:  Hit the quote button, look at the URL, and hop over to the wacky wiki which, albeit a Communist propaganda cesspool, does have more information identifying these artworks, their histories, and the (mostly long-dead) great artists who created them.

(* “Focus on the IF.”)

A refined gourmet feast should be served with an appropriate sauce.  However, those who are not sufficiently motivated to pursue life’s finer things just do not deserve them.  Hiding the sauce in the URL is too low a low-pass filter, but it hereby suffices for most purposes.  If you smell the tantalizing repast, but you just scroll on past, then no sauce for you!

From Politics & Society:
Where do you think it went wrong nulli?
Giving non-property owners the right to vote? Giving women, young, minorities, recent immigrants, non english speakers, etc. the right to vote? Or was it just doomed from the start?

Dang, eddie.  Did you pwn my computer and read the draft, file modification time 2020-10-12, of this thing that I seem to have not actually posted to the Wall Observer?

—BEGIN QUOTATION—

Minimally revised on grounds of perfectionism.

[—a quoted quip about idiots taking IQ tests—]

Immodest proposal:  Only smart people should be allowed to take IQ tests, to learn to read, or to vote.

Quote from: Nietzsche
Every one being allowed to learn to read, ruineth in the long run not only writing but also thinking.

Only people working for a private income should be allowed to vote. No representation without taxation.

I disagree in principle with basing rights and privileges on taxation.  Anyway, this presents an obvious practical problem:  If people working for private income vote for a government that abolishes the income tax, then upon what principle should suffrage be based?

Historically, besides heritable class status, the single most effective guarantor of voter quality was a real property ownership requirement.  People whose wealth is invested in illiquid, immovable property within a jurisdiction tend to think more long-term; and most especially, people who own their own homes (in contradistinction to investment properties) have the most to lose from bad government.  Liquid, fungible, or easily liquidatable wealth, i.e. capital is NOT comparable.  If your personal wealth is only invested in the markets, then it is just too easy to pick up and move.

Naturally, I think that such a requirement must logically exclude mortgaged properties, which (especially in today’s society) are effectively rented from the bank.

In the United States, which has lamentably lacked legal class distinctions from its inception, real property ownership was a common requirement in the beginning.  Obviously, it was insufficient.  In Europe, class distinctions also proved insufficient.  Perhaps the whole concept of democracy should be questioned—but I digress...

Of course, all of this discussion is otiose.  No jurisdiction with universal suffrage will ever have a voting majority vote to restrict the franchise; expansion of the franchise is a one-way ratchet which cannot be undone except by total “régime change”.  Moreover, in a world in which such objectively important criteria as reading tests (!) can be deemed “racist” (!!) by the world’s historic and histrionic leaders at Making The World Safe For Democracy, this is just the sort of [...draft abruptly ends here; a cat must have knocked over my computer, or something...]

—END QUOTATION—

As for the rest of eddie’s list, it is more or less correct—albeit not necessarily for the reasons that liberals with knee-jerk reactions would assume—and albeit incomplete.  For if votes are allowed, then votes should be dear!  Of what value is a thing so cheap that it is just given away to every precious snowflake?

Universal suffrage is vote inflation.  Making everybody “free” by giving everybody a vote is like making everybody “rich” by printing lots of money.

Yes, that is an original observation on my part.  Analogy credit: nullius.
