DDR3 is pretty slow for ETH mining, look at the GDDR5X it's slower than GDDR5 and DDR3 is way slower for mining, but it would be probably cost effective with those DDR3, seems like DDR4 are too expensive that's plus.

Hey, i downloaded the sgminer already from your guide, and tried the config, but still everytime i try to run the .exe it starts with telling me i didnt specify pool, and user, etc, so i have to re-enter it everytime when i start it, i do something wrong with the config, this is my cryptonight.conf ( is that even the right format for it to be in the folder? );

When i load the bios from my sapphire rx550 4gb micron, when i load it in polaris bios editor, it says rx460 in the information.
So i think this sapphire rx550 4gb micron is really a rx460 with 4 (6) of its compute units turned of.
The RX 550 is a Polaris 12 chip, it´s a new chip with 14nm FinFET LPP ! The RX 580 / 570 is a Polaris 20 chip (renamed Polaris 10 with 14nm FinFET LPP). The RX 560 is a Polaris 21 (renamed Polaris 11 with 14nm FinFET LPP). Polaris 10 and 11 are produced with 14nm FinFET LPE. Thanks, good information. I have one weird thing; On claymore my rx460 2 gb hynix gives 480 hash, on xmrstak it gives 420 On Claymore my rx550 4gb micron gives 370 hash, on xmrstak it gives 420 Im confused Have you finally download the SGminer files from my guide?  For XMR-STAK use 2 threads just like SGminer, Claymore need to be tweaked as well I think it's -h command whe you can set intensity. If you use old XMR-STAK-AMD you would have higher hashrate. |

I use nanopool and xmr-stak for miner etn, but i have problem because nanopool reported lower hashrate than it is. Xmr-stak reported about 12000 h/s with 6 vega gpu, but in nanopool see only between 7500 and 9000 h/s?
That is normal. Set static diff to lower values like 10k per GPU it will be more accurate, if it's possible on Nanopool |

Are older CPU's really that slow in cryptonight?
I have a rig with an old Xeon 5645 (2.4 Ghz, 6 core, 12 Mb cache AES, SSE 4.2) that gives 200 H/s with xmr-stak / xmrig.
A tiny mobile i7 7500u 2 cores makes 135 and a Ryzen 1700 around 530.
Are newest CPU's really more efficient using AES, does software use other instructions for cryptonight, or what?
I was really expecting more from a 6 core / 12 Mb CPU, but I already checked, and yes, it's average for this CPU.
I think all of them uses AES, I don't know if there are some revisions that makes it faster, but generally newer CPUs are faster every generation and with better power consumption. For CPU mining try AEON, much better for CPU, hashrate is 4x higher then on XMR and only 2x times higher with GPU. Good tip. It actually uses 12 threads, I suppose cryptonight-lite requires less cache per thread. Yeah, half. |

Just for information 560 Micron: 499H/s on Cryptonight and 560 Hynix: 474H/s So yes if you think about price/pwr/hash 560 are the best card at the moment. XMR - Total Speed: 1375 H/s, Total Shares: 254, Rejected: 0, Time: 06:43 XMR: GPU0 876 H/s, GPU1 499 H/s GPUO is 570 4G ITX and GPU1 is 560 4G Micron For a Quick answer: Best Micron timing and Universal 1 Hynix  Universal 1 oh yeah, you have my timings I didn't know. You can refer to the VGA Nvidia 1060 and 1070TI . I think the performance will make you satisfied

also, what is the command for threads with batfile? since i cant get the software to work with the config, with batfile it works, just don't know the threads command for the batfile...
Download the files from this guide, they are prepared for config file, then you can easily edit the conf. Yes i littterly copy pasted your commands in the config.txt, still says i didnt specify pool or user, it lets me insert it everytime i run the miner... You need the bat file too and run the bat not exe... |

There are 2 kinds of 560 - 1)560(1024) and 2)560D(896) I've never seen 560D that gives more than 13.3 eth. Have you? 896 has also RX 460, right? So 14-15MH/s should be possible, but depends on exact memory type... |

560 is no good for mining how every 580's are expensive but if u get 8gb one u can duel mine and ROI will be fast

Zdravím lidi, Myslím že bitcoin v česku populární není skoro vůbec. Populární jsou spíše věci, které se rozšíří a to se říct ani náhodou o bitcoinu nedá. Dnes jsem o nich napsal článek muzspochybnostmi.blogspot.czJsem zcela pro jejich rozšíření ale jak bylo napsáno v jednom článku abclinuxu, je to stále málo udělané pro lidi nevědomé(=blbuvzdorné). Spousta lidí nemá ujasněno co je svoboda, spousta lidí neví že peníze nejsou ničím kryté atd. Tak v tomto s tebou souhlasím. Nejhorší je že jsme za 25 let svobody začali vnímat svobodu za automatickou věc. A to je obrovská chyba a nebezpečí!! A bohužel to ukazuje fakt z posledních několika voleb. Pokud nám někdo nabídne svobodu ( například BTC ) , tak se jí bojíme příjmout. O volbách ani nemluv.. 😖 Oni za chvíli lidi zjistí, že btc není zas tak špatná věc a jakmile dojde vládě, že na tom lidi můžou bohatnout, nastaví na to daňovou povinnost a máme po srandě. Obzvláště s Andrejem u žezla.. As others have said there is not a huge difference between the 4Gb models and 8Gb. The Sapphire brands tend to reach 30-31 much easier than the other brands regardless of memory type in my experience.
There are huge differences in memory types... Some of the Sapphire with 24MJ can do more than 32MH/s in dual, while 24AJ has problem reach 31MH/s or at least with my timings... On XMR I was able to tweak both of them more and the difference is lower. BTW few days ago I've got bios with H5GQ4H24AJ, I've never seen this type before, but it seems that it likes same timing as H5GQ8H24MJ and it does 31+MH/s. There is almost no difference between 4GB and 8GB performance. My 4gb RX580 and RX570 cards with Elpida memory are doing 31-32.5Mh/s with good bios mods. It comes down to the quality on that specific card, some i can run at 2170MHz while others i can only run at 2080Mhz. At the same moment, my 8GB RX580 cards with Samsung memory only does about 30.5 to 31Mhs.
It pretty much depends on exact Samsung type, classical FB is great if you don't have some bad one on the other hand FC and FE are terrible, I need to play with them a lot. |

I always ask in forums first to see if maybe someone has an idea, which i just simply overlooked or forgot about, like in this case where both helped me quick For real issues i would definetly mail you directly. I do prefer to do the OC and undervolts in the bios, to have them working correctly regardless of what OS i intend to use. As with Linux things might get more complicated and i want to be ready for that if i decide to switch ( which i am thinking of now ). Well, PBE will never have undervolting feature for Linux anyway :/ |

Poridil jsem si novou grafiku a kolega me nalakal zkusit si ten bitcoin. Po pravde jsem moc nevedel poradne o co jde a porad mam v tom nejaky zmatek. Sice jsem nasel par ceskych clanku ale moc mi to nedalo, spis mam v tom jeste vetsi gulas nez jsem mel. Bohuzel anglicky umim jen par slovicek. Nasel by se tady nekdo kdo by mi mohl do zacatku dat par rad, navodu co a jak? Stahl, nainstaloval a nastavil jsem si tyto programy: - GUIMiner - Officialni Bitcoin Na https://mining.bitcoin.cz/ jsem si zalozil ucet, vytvoril workera a snazim se neco tezit. Jede mi to kolem 285Mhash/s ale za tech par dni co mi to jede nemam jeste ani 1 bitcoin. Je to normalni nebo mam nekde neco spatne? Muze to byt treba i spatnym nastavenim mineru nebo tak neco? Za kadou radu, pomoc a navod budu velice vdecny.  Ahoj. Zrovna s tímto ti moc neporadím. Poradil bych ti přihlásit se na arbolet.net . zde je největší BTC komunita z ČR a SK. @Both of the previous replies, wow that was dumb, i think i just kinda forgot about it and i redid everything and all worked out. Running a solid 168 MH/s with 6 cards on 875Watts. I do have a question tho, is there much of a different between power saving mode or OC/Undervolt mode in the PBE 2.1? I kinda don't want to do all my cards again right now that i got everything working just to find out it doesn't change much Is the PBE 2.1 Mattthev exclusive version? If so then I guess he should be best person to answer that question. You better next time send an e-mail. It's first release of settings core clocks and voltages based on algo you mine. You don't need to use it, OC and undervolting in Afterburner or Overdriventool is enough. Seems like you need OC the memory more and probably lower voltages too, but no need to do it in bios. |

Anyone experience with rx550 elpida memory?
I put the 1625 strap at 2000 and got a LITTLE improvement, but still only have 280 h/s.
Trying more straps now but i dont think this elpida is the best memory.
