Steamtyme, didn't you hear the alarm at all?
Nope. I woke up about 2 hours or so after the game started. Was crazy tired so I likely just shut it off before fully waking up. Should be on this weekend, I'm at work but nothing big planned as of yet. Then I believe I'm free the next few weekends, not sure about how the finals weekend works out now with all these missed weeks, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

68  Economy / Reputation / Re: User SmokerFace - Recycling posts for sig campaign, new way of cheating ? on: February 25, 2021, 04:52:21 PM
Report them to the manager, leave them a neutral tag explaining the situation. The campaign can and should then exclude them and if they so decide could probably flag them.

It's shady behaviour and if it's been done while in the same campaign, it could be enough for them to neg/flag the individual as they had already been paid for that post. Unless removed by moderators the post should remain with the accompanied advertising, that's the whole basis of the system.

Edit: I took the above action.
69  Economy / Reputation / Sportsbooks - Industry Standards, our importance and inflated sense of authority on: February 24, 2021, 08:03:35 PM
I've been meaning to address this for several months. I have been reluctant to create this topic myself as I'm not a punter, nor do I enjoy taking on the house. My habits don't really matter here. I also made this in reputation as this is where these issues end up, here or as a scam accusation.

My goal here is to provide clarity for the community, accusers, defendants and activists. There will obviously be some grey areas but I would like a rando to be able to read through this and then have enough understanding to look at a scam accusation, or feedback and have a sense of the nest steps to be taken, or even whether there is any credibility to the claim.

The initiative is to bring together allmost voices who have a vested interest in online crypto positive sportsbooks/casinos. There are a lot out there and new ones popping up each day. The end of 2020 and the start of price action brought a lot of scams and accusations both false and real. This presented a few problems.

- There is very little recourse for a wronged party to go after some of these businesses
- There are a lot of people attempting to take advantage of these businesses - This brings some false positives
- Some of the BTCT community thinks we have authority or power over these businesses
- KYC - as a term is tossed around as if it's a scam in itself, when used as a tool by the businesses
- Failures in writing, reading and understanding the TOS
- Selective scamming is a real possibility
- Lack of information given to the public to protect business "scam" busting techniques

The list below will grow or shrink with input. I would like it to contain any and all standards we know of or can expect when these cases arise. Maybe this will also allow some of these platforms to see possible points of concern that can be removed or addressed in an attempt to improve their PR overall.

Current standards I am aware of

Deposits
- Amounts deposited (less any previous withdrawals) are returned to a "customer" who has been found in violation of TOS.
- Usually subject to certain requirements before being released for withdrawal - AML
- Conversion rate should be known at time of deposit, if converted to FIAT on site

Withdrawals
- Don't be surprised if your no KYC site asks for KYC documents at this stage. The vast majority of these cases have to do with prize size, withdrawal amount and/or timing in relation to deposits. Some times this is KYC as you have been flagged for possible TOS violations. The other side is it can be the beginning of an exit scam and/or selective scamming.
- Received amount should be known beforehand. Including conversion if from FIAT, as well as transaction fees for the network.

Account Investigation
- If they ask for KYC, you have no choice but to provide it.
- A VPN is probably going to result in your account being investigated, and/or could be against TOS.
- I don't know the threshold for being flagged. If flagged for investigation BTCT can't do anything to change that. You still have to comply with their requests.

70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's F'n happening ----- Polk VS. Negreanu HUNL Grudge Match on: February 23, 2021, 07:55:57 PM
It's a good watch. I've been seeing and reading things like this quite a bit, especially in regards to Cash Games. People essentially call it solved, mainly because there are less variables - no antes and for example generally 100BB deep.

I don't know how close MTT's are getting but I remember when I first found out people use HUD's and will make certain calls in a spot just based on your stats. It blew my mind.  It's really no different than anything else where there is an opportunity to make someone else's money yours. Some people will do anything to win where others have a line somewhere. Personally I have ranges for pre-flop action, I don't use them to play only to study and compare how well I'm sticking to my range. I will review a spot after the hand has played if I was completely lost, but that's about as close to RTA as I get.

Maybe the difference is I love to play. I also really enjoy challenging myself to be better, without aides.

It will be interesting to see what the future of online Poker brings.
For whatever reason I assumed they were only going to have their preflop ranges simply displayed as a grid format. I had no idea it was essentially a solved sim for preflop. This is where live poker will always be much more exciting as an exhibition. I'm hoping this year will be my chance to play my first live tournament.
71  Economy / Reputation / Re: TecShare - Farewell my friend. on: February 23, 2021, 07:33:58 PM
Crazy, I read this and hoped it was just a rando saying things... which happens a lot around here.
Tecshare was one of my early trades for a good old fashioned mystery box. Still have some of it in my camping supplies and the kids had fun with it. We had different stances on a lot of things but I still welcomed his presence and counterpoints. I legitimately hadn't noticed the posting gap, as I've been less active in a lot of areas.

I'm not surprised not many people knew what happened to them. There seems to be only a select few who new him across multiple platforms.

Edit: I did PM theymos to request the account be locked to prevent future hack attempts. Not sure if theymos has the information to independently verify this or not, or what threshold he has for these requests.
72  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric 🏀Sportsbook and 🎲Casino - 🔥Biggest Jackpots on: February 22, 2021, 09:18:55 PM
You only made clear so far that you are getting paid by Betnomi to defend them.
You are Royse777 or at least working with that muppet together.
Prove it or you're a liar.
Quote
Betnomo wrote on the forum that they will never ask for KYC, unless they suspect there is fraud.
And all of a sudden, all users are suddenly involved in fraud. What a big coincidence.. It is just a shady way to force users to provide the KYC.
All users?? Prove it or you're a liar
Quote
But I am very curious how this case will end, My guess is that Betnomi will only give the deposit back, like they indicated.
Yeah I expect them to do what they said as well, weird we are in agreement.
Quote
Betnomi wrote that the user defrauded, without showing any kind of evidence.
And they wrote they only want to give the deposit back, is this a fucking joke? This is not the first time how they trying to steal their customers funds.
OP should be in paid full. He provided the KYC. If Betnomi refuses to payout the whole balance, start an accusation topic, please.
What evidence does a company have to show the public?? In a few sentences you are upset about them showing what they believed at the time to be proof of fraudulent activity... yet here you are asking them to again post information publicly. Oh did he provide KYC, didn't see this. Did they also update their information to the correct spelling and dates?
Quote
@steamytme
What was your opinion about the fact they betnomi displayed a passport from a user on the forum 2 months ago?
That is exactly the reason why people do not want to undergo the KYC. Betnomi is a shame for this gaming business.
I thought it was stupid to post that information. That's what actually brought Betnomi to my attention. I reached out to them explaining the forum and what's acceptable. That's when I briefly provided on forum support for them as they developed their live support. Weird how you want them to post more private information publicly though now to prove someone is fraudulent. It was more like 3 months ago.

It's also not the reason people don't want to undergo KYC when requested. It's because they can't come up with real documents. If I truly valued my privacy to the point I wouldn't provide KYC I would never deposit on a site that could ask for it, which is clearly stated.

My bad I keep posting before the Gold and Green army can create some echoes. Definitely though this discussion has run it's course, for the 3rd time or so. If there is an accusation then post away, I'm sure someone who isn't a scumbag such as myself will see the light

That was an error I expect will never happen again, because they realize that even if the documents are fraudulent it shouldn't be posted publicly.
73  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk poker series #2 hosted by Betnomi on: February 22, 2021, 08:25:11 PM
I'm pretty sure the tournament will still be on Sunday, just that it should be up in the lobby by Wednesday so people have time to register. I was disappointed it didn't run, it was one of the weekends I had at home. I did get to play the GG masters as I had sattied into it, unfortunately it was a slow 3 hours unable to really get anything going and when I did many runouts that went 4 to a "Fuck me". Eventually I ran into Aces and that was the end of the day.

I had more notes on people when we played SWC, but I remember the Betnomi note system being glitchy off the start and just stopped using it. Most people I just have a general idea of what they are playing and why they are limping their monsters  Roll Eyes
74  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric 🏀Sportsbook and 🎲Casino - 🔥Biggest Jackpots on: February 22, 2021, 08:19:14 PM
Steamtyme is getting paid by Betnomi to defend them, so do not pay attention to his bullshit.
What Bullshit? Proof or you're a liar.
The best thing about my answers are they use the words written by others, including the individual you are only here to help. While the accusation topic is the best one could hope for, as it gives the circus somewhere to move.
You clearly do not give a shit about any user on the platform, or their accusations. Are things perfect, no. Sometimes a transaction is held up for one reason or another, but those issues get resolved. The thing is when a Service provider requests KYC - you have no choice but to provide it. It's usually really easy... Can't say I've ever failed... even more so when you are given the opportunity to correct "spelling and dating errors"

As far as I can judge, you can always come up with this argument to force clients to undergo with the KYC ?
I think the KYC should not be a big problem at all actually, but what I am more worried about is on which grounds this comment is stated.
What did the user do wrong here, since you are writing this?
Here's the thing they don't actually have to tell us anything publicly about what they think a user has done wrong. Hell the minute they do someone could claim their privacy is being violated... same as any service provider. Us the public just have to be told "We think you are in violation of out TOS, please submit "x" documentation"

It doesn't matter what site you go on or what their TOS says, that's what we agree to when we participate. So as long as it's in there that KYC can be requested, act as if it will be applied at some point.

This post is not paid for by Betnomi, contrary to what some believe. I have not represented them on the forum for several months. They rent my Avatar space for advertising, which has no effect on my posts.
75  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric 🏀Sportsbook and 🎲Casino - 🔥Biggest Jackpots on: February 22, 2021, 07:28:21 PM
SO let us go back to the base:
Why is the user roonlagoon not paid?
Why did you confiscate his winnings?

Until you are able to satisfy the due diligence process and including the KYC procedure. It is evident you are using false (unverifiable) information on our website.
Strict adherence to the above-stated policy would imply your account be terminated permanently and all funds forfeited (Deposits and winnings)
However, as an act of good faith, we are allowing you to withdraw all your deposits from our website.

The question has been answered. Rather clearly. Are you suggesting that roonlagoon has provided verified and accurate documentation to satisfy KYC requirements??

Not to mention they were given every opportunity to make the adjustments necessary to provide accurate KYC

Moreover, my name /dob were mistyped to preserve anonymity on a cyrpto website while registering the account, and I cant edit it. Upon speaking to the live support he basically told me there's nothing he can do about it, but he'll forward my request to the risk department. I'm feeling very uneasy with the lack of help and information I'm being given from live support.

EDIT:

They sent me an email to change my information with proper verification so hoping everything goes smoothly again.

The moderator of the mining board has a very strict deleting post policy.
Until you are an experienced miner, I don't think you should post there.
This is extremely problematic. How does one gain expertise in mining when you can't ask questions of all levels. This person is clearly asking questions and creating a discussion which is rather lacking in mining.

In these times we have to remember there will be a lot of new users considering mining no different than any price run and these questions at first glance might seem redundant or low value but that's where people start. The only thing that I can see justifying the outright deletion would b that they state it is not legal yet, but that could also be a language thing as in not regulated.

The problem with just outright deleting the comment in this instance is what if OP just wandered away and lost interest. The sole purpose of this forum is for the exchange of information of ideas and knowledge in relation to Bitcoin. There was a time when Frodo would have at least taken that comment and created the topic themselves for OP.
I really wish we could give reasons when deleting posts as it would solve a lot of confusion and threads like these.
That would be great.

@mining setup

Most of your questions can be answered by reading the pinned topics at the top of the page on these boards.

77  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed by bullrun2020bro in german bitcointalk board on: February 18, 2021, 08:18:11 PM
False accusations are against the rules and have consequences!
I know you're staff and all, but are you sure about the first part of that statement?  Lol.  And if it is true, does that particular rule ever get enforced?  Methinks not.

And you would be completely correct.
Do you have any evidence for your quite difficult accusations?
If not, then please refrain from making such claims.

False accusations are against the rules and have consequences!
If you have a problem with an exchange that is listed here in the board, you are welcome to mention it there. But that does not make the creators of such lists scammers.

Not one member of Staff, unless theymos himself decides to make a complete about face has the authority to deny anyone the opportunity to make any claim or statement or accusation they wish on this forum. (within board descriptions) That goes for false, true or bat shit crazy inventions of ones own mind.

You might get them on a technicality for breaking one of the few guidelines, or hard and fast rules regarding Plagiarism, or Ban evasion but that's about the end of list in silencing opinions.

If you have a problem with a statement or UID making statements your only real recourse is to dispute their claims with facts, evidence and logic or move on. I would thnk more so for accusations against yourself, no matter how ridiculous you find them, it's a bad look as staff to dissuade posting by mentioning non existent rules.

78  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: February 16, 2021, 05:42:25 AM
The only thing that really annoyed me about this was that they just shifted all the hashrate over, instead of allowing miners to fail over to their back-up pools. I still have a few things to look over to be sure they at least sent out final payment balances but can't be sure.

Best case scenario they got a couple days free hash off me.
