341  Economy / Goods / Re: crypto cruise ship on: October 17, 2020, 09:23:04 AM
I love the idea, and everything seems reasonable. Given the limited information I know I see this filling up with somewhat wealthy individuals to start. I say this because the first thing someone like me needs to look for is work. Sure I could come up with 25K, plus a bit to survive a few months by selling my home and cutting ties with a mortgage and whatnot. After a few months without employment in my field, I'd be begging for meals.

Others it would work for are possibly the online gig economy assuming it's feasible to get consistent high speed internet access. Someone like my wife teaches online ESL from home, and could carry on the work, or in-person style tutoring if the market was there. Obviously there will be some "maintenance" staff, but I don't imagine there are a lot of positions. This is more the end of things that I'm curious about, as I read your company is considering opening a plant near the vessel, which could also open up a small amount I imagine.

This project essentially needs to mimic a small working class town to be viable, and towns go down pretty fast if there isn't regional employment.

Apart from that being a ship, how fast could it pull anchor and move. Less concerned with the Panama government all of a sudden caring what the wealthy are up to, and more so thinking tropical storms. Have you developed ERP's to leave the region should there be signs of a destructive storm headed your way?
342  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFGMiner not working with Slushpool? on: October 17, 2020, 08:57:42 AM
I never mined with these so i can't help much. i thought maybe it was a pool minimum hashrate but couldn't find anything. They do have a whole list of other stratum addresses that are location specific, you could try a few of those just to see if it resolves the issue.

Side note you might just want to toss these on a solo pool as a lottery. I'm not even positive of what there are for options on the solo lottery there was CK pool, but it may not be running anymore. Kano pool had discussed launching one, but not being into the solo game myself I'm not positive. Good luck sorting out your issue.
343  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: October 16, 2020, 11:31:03 PM
Sorry took me a bit to get around to this. Thanks for asking me to take part.

Questions:
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I was bored and looking for ways to increase my earning potential. I have a decent job to support my family but it was long hours, filled with boredom and minimal tasks; I know woe is me. So I spent hours searching for ways to earn while at work. In May/June 2017 I stumbled on some articles about Bitcoin and remembered nearly getting into it in 2015/2016. Eventually I settled on mining after 3 attempts to buy Bitcoin from scammers. Unfortunately legit sites that would have accepted Fiat, seemed really scammy in continuing to ask for additional documents and I never went that route.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
A lofty goal I have yet to reach. I have always had a rather limited amount I could invest in BTC directly. My first purchase was to shop online in 2016, but because of some rather confusing articles I never looked back as it made Bitcoin fees seem an infinitely compounding cost. In the end I invested in mining gear. I have had the potential to earn 1 BTC, but have also had to sell off decent portions at times due to irl situations.

3. How did you get on the forum?
Getting scammed finally brought me to this forum. I was reselling some of my first gear, and I received a return on gear that worked fine. While trying to troubleshoot the item, I stumbled on this forum because someone a day or two before had posted the same question. Figured it was them and had to create an account to message them. It went nowhere but I've been happy here ever since.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Use case. Then there is the technical hurdle for most newcomers that can be overwhelming.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
IT depends on whether you see gambling as a problem in itself. Personally I think Bitcoin and Crypto owe a lot to the gambling industry for the recognition and growth it saw... among other "venues" as well. Just like anything though people need to be aware of where they are putting their crypto, and know their limits.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
Successful is relative. Someone who buys ETH for 330 and sells for 360 could consider it a victory. Someone throws a dart and drops 10K on a project that 4X's and busts, can be successful if they sold. I think to full-time trade in the markets you need some form of training structured or self taught is fine, but apart from that you are using feelings and gambling. Experience in the space just teaches you that there are a lot of scams and some can come looking pretty polished, and with lots of seemingly reasonable promises.

An example would be most of us have used computers since we were kids. Now how many could look at a PC case and know whether it's a good buy or not, most might just see a custom case and some lights and think score. The experience gives you the now how of a few points to look at beyond the façade to make better decisions.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
No merit has been useful in preventing account farming en masse to continue. Signature campaigns encourage decent contributors to continue to post or give them an attainable goal, which is nice. Given the fact that people can choose to make signatures invisible, I do not see campaigns as a negative.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
Pinned topics are the most useful. LoyceV is an all around useful poster. I found Phillipma1957, and Notfuzzywarm to be some of the most useful for myself starting out. dogie had the most useful posts and content made that was useful to me for the longest while mining.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Never really had a top 3, but I would implement a "Welcome Message" Upon signing up. A secondary account setting and login for browsing - so you can still see all details, replies and messages for browsing but without access for replies, posting or account details. Third would likely be some form of a structured marketplace, and/or improved guidelines and rules.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I've done both. The P2P market for me has been pretty small, so there have been times I use exchanges to diversify a bit. I have invested in 1 ICO I believe, while also recently trying my hand at picking a few projects I think can make a go of it. Not something I've put a ton of focus on but am dabbling in a bit.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Big profit - Becoming a decent poster and contributing to the forum. Sounds cheesy but without that I never would have managed to get into a decent signature campaign which has been the largest source of BTC income I've made.
Big Loss - Walking into a social engineering scam.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem? It's promising, but is going to be oversaturated very soon. You can already see clones of clones coming out simply to catch the pump from the hype. Costs associated with this can be high at times as well so there will always be something to work on and improve.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution? It's a great thing to have. Mine was pretty much out the window the second I signed up here, but it was more to the fact that I hadn't really noticed how little you really have in the world. I also used this forum to conduct trades early on and it became apparent that for anonymity I would essentially have to get rid of my account and start over.
So do I go shouting it from the rooftops? No. Could I disappear and no one know who or where to look, not a chance. I don't mind that people I interact with could identify me, but I'm also aware of the risks that can bring.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
Never read one.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years? Lol. Not my place to suggest. I do think BTC, and ETH are safe bets atm. I also like where ADA is at the moment.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020? December usually brings some crazy runs, but at the end of December who knows. I'd say somewhere around 15K

15. P.S. (Optional)
Keep the forum fun for yourself. Try not to get sucked into petty squabbles or let the social/political side of the forum overshadow the potential for learning or having fun. There is so much more available here than just earning your place, that stuff can come naturally while you find your place here.

345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: October 14, 2020, 03:40:30 PM
feel free to share---always happy to see some hands, particularly on those SwC sunday tourneys. i'm super busy these days but i wanna grind some of those when i finally get some free time again.

what hand did you go out on? standard short stack play and just couldn't hang on past the bubble?
Yeah, it was pretty gross just sitting there waiting. Definitely not my strong suit, but nothing to be done about it. For the longest time I had the chip leader to my left , and anything that might have come close to a Jam, was taken out of the mix by EP, or MP action.

The upside was it gave me a lot of chances to consider what the bottom of my shoving range would be from about 18BB - 4BB  Undecided. Thinking back I did try and mix into one pot. I was BB and there was an EP minraise and MP flat. I can't remember if it was 2 low suited connectors or gappers but. It was around 10 or 11 BB so not enough for me to shove but I figured was worth the1 BB price in hopes I hit the magic.

In the end I flicked it in against MP jam 7th or 8th position, I was in SB and it folded around to me. I called my 3 or 4 BB with KT of hearts. They show 77, and I'm live but can't get there and they hold.
I don't think I could have folded into the money, though at this point it was pretty much a coin toss as to whether calling down was worth it. 7 and 8 I think both had 10+ BB so even if I doubled I would be behind, and no one was really mixing it up to much.

Steamtyme shared it on the bitcointalk's poker thread, he probably got confused about which thread to share it on
Getting pocket pair and shove is pretty much like coin flip, I have lose alot of hands like that as well. My aces got cracked one time against 23 suited, he nailed flush and I lose .
Yeah it was gross. I shared it there as me and efialitis were licking our wounds from the Poker Gods. I didn't see much actual play discussion that could come from them, apart from my pity party lol
My worst AA story was an ACR 20$ tourney I got 3-bet rather big by BB early on so I 4-bet and they instajam. I call they show 24 of diamonds, I flop a set and they run out a 5 high straight.  Shocked

Good times

Onwards and upwards. I finally ticked the box to save hands from SWC so I'll do my best to keep bringing interesting spots here. I did review my pre flop RTA sheets lol, and surprisingly I'm overfolding lately in quite a few MP spots, I've still been defending my SB to much but am getting better. Going to try and put in some solid time to study and review, but I believe I plugged one of my biggest leaks.

Effective stacks of 15-22 BB, Villain opens or flats - and Raises or CHK raises pot+ or All-in - I had been getting burned here a lot with top pair holdings. Often losing to an overpair, or flopped set. Rarely has it been a drawing hand or anything I was ahead of.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's F'n happening ----- Polk VS. Negreanu HUNL Grudge Match on: October 13, 2020, 07:29:50 PM
Well that turned into a shitshow for a few days, and probably right up until the match gets underway. I am happiest about the fact that somehow a concession about holecards came about and will be visible for at least part of the match.

Surprising though is I think Doug is legitimately fired up to play now. He talked before about feeling anxious when the time was coming to play, and that was part of his leaving the game. I don't see any of that in his current, come and get me approach. I even noticed him kind of accepting and calling for additional matches, some obvious putdowns and/or trolls but maybe he dips his toes in and gets a taste for these heads up matches.
347  Economy / Gambling / Re: #4 Bitcointalk Poker Series @ SwC Poker (0.06 BTC, BIG BTC Ticket by SwC) on: October 13, 2020, 07:08:01 PM
Last Sunday I played every hand wisely and following my strategy except three hands. Frankly speaking, I don't remember which hand are you talking about but 4-6 was surely not among those three emotionally driven hands. So if I went all-in with 4-6 as you say, there must be some thinking behind that.
Now as you said, I am also curious to review that hand. Does anybody know how can I 'Replay' hands of finished tournament? I tried search option on SwC but it isn't showing old tourneys.
Unless you selected the option to save your hand history I don't think you can review specific hands. You can find old tournament results though in the "game" tab under "hand history". "Hand History Options"
is where you choose to save hand histories.

They're referring to your outs, not the hand 46. Not sure what the hand was in particular but if they screenshotted it we can discuss the hand for fun.

As promised a few screencaps. Nowhere near all of them, as I didn't start grabbing them from the get go. Some gems here though non the less.

348  Economy / Goods / Re: crypto cruise ship on: October 12, 2020, 09:31:25 PM
The ship was last renovated in 2017 AFAIK and they're claiming it will be in operation in January after acquiring it in November and it still needs to sail to Panama... what I'm saying is that it probably won't be reconfigured from its 700+ cabin capacity. Again, more details would be nice and I think Elwar was posting about it in WO so perhaps someone could dig it up... or ask him to comment here.
Good point, I found 2 of his posts that were more descriptive. Sounds like my work issue could almost be solved as they discuss a "Factory Barge" for his company's other projects. More surprising to me is he is mentioning possibly only a few hundred dollars/month I'm assuming condo fees.

You have it right about capacity, sounds as though it will be 700+ units.

Yep, that is a render of the actual ship we purchased (which we are not allowed to name) refitted with our logos.

245 meters long, 777 cabins.

Cabins starting at $25,000. The auction for the rooms starts November 5th.

https://ocean.builders/cruiseship

We'll be accepting bitcoin at all businesses on the ship.

The problem with buying a cruise ship has usually been about the cost. COVID allowed us to get a good deal but that won't last forever.

Our plan is to have it anchored about 30 minutes from Panama City further conserving costs by not burning much fuel.
Near the ship we will put a barge or cargo ship to act as a floating factory to build other floating structures such as Ocean Builders SeaPods and floating islands.
It makes sense to try such floating living close to shore first without jumping straight to 200nm out. Living on the water gives some small freedoms we don't have on shore but also comes with other maritime laws we don't have on land. We will need to build communities to benefit from the new system in ways we do not now know.

Quote
Cruise ship living sounds expensive as shit... but what do I know...

If you were to have the level of hospitality that cruises offer on land it would be expensive as well. We will have to prepare people for the reality that this isn't a vacation, this is your home where you work and pay for your own meals and entertainment. You would get bored of the cruise life after a few weeks. But if you're busy working then it's not much different from living in the dorms at school. Small rooms but most of the time you're out on campus or if you're in your room you're studying your ass off.

349  Economy / Goods / Re: crypto cruise ship on: October 12, 2020, 09:02:11 PM
It's a cool concept, even having the potential to create a fleet if it were to catch on. That is before this damn pesky global pandemic hit. I'm of course just assuming that when the ship is docked individuals would be allowed to come and go as they please. Not to mention the fact that they state some cabins will operate as vacation rentals. A year ago, I wouldn't have a bad thing to say about the idea, as long as the population was set at a fraction of what cruiselines normally carry and you can still feel like you can find a space to yourself, outside your cabin it'll probably be a hit. For those that can afford it, as most people probably can't pack up and take residence while still maintaining a job.

No one can predict the future, but present actions tell me there is a decent chance this isn't the last time I'll see an event like this in my lifetime.
350  Economy / Gambling / Re: #4 Bitcointalk Poker Series @ SwC Poker (0.06 BTC, BIG BTC Ticket by SwC) on: October 12, 2020, 08:46:29 PM
Got your back , no worry. Betwrong should be on #6 and Pitkins should be #7
Thank you, yeah I did that with a few people as I was moving places, forgot to fix that one. Will update later.

Personally, I am simply tired of poker after the last few games. I am fully aware I am far from being a good player - super far to be exact! Cheesy But the fact that I can't control shit in such tournaments, losing numerous hands I wouldn't lose in the long run (statistically) and as a result, being kicked out - yeah, pisses me off atm, I am honest. Cheesy That's the reason I stopped playing poker tournaments years ago and if I played poker, always went for cash games.
I hear yah man. I have had some very unfortunate runouts the past few months. This weekend I took a fairly big swing at the SWC series, and started screen capping some doozies, given the amount of them and their frequencies. I wasn't sure if I'd post them or if they were just going to be my own hall of misery, but you've inspired me. Misery loves company and maybe I can brighten your day with them. One features our buddy Kolloh(Mollok), he was very nice about it.

Granted I probably should have stopped firing bullets in 2 of the events, but when you lose to a suckout real early on, sometimes you just flick it in there.

351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: October 12, 2020, 05:53:05 PM
Here's an interesting beat.
I see it all to often, while I wonder why are you even in with a 9 6 off suit.
I definitely mark these players as goes all in with stupid hands, even if they do end up beating AA
Rightly so. You'll find at the microstakes there are going to be a lot more of these WTF plays. There are people there who've never played a hand of poker in their life, or who couldn't care less abou tthe game and treat it like a slot machine clicking buttons  Wink

That being said what were the stacksizes for the players with KK, at a certain point in a bounty if your stack size is healthy enough you will call down with almost any 2 if smaller stacks shove into you. The reason being the value of the pot with the added bounty puts you into gamble territory.

So after a very disheartening Friday/Saturday grind I eeked out some sunshine on Sunday I took down the Little BTC which was a nice ego boost after all the busted bullets---- it was really starting to look like a scene out of Hotshots part deux

Then with my Big BTC ticket in hand I rallied and after about 2 hours was in the top 5, held there until about 20-30 folks left then started to slide - My stack was at it's largest 53K, and folded out almost everything from 25, down to 9 where I finished; out of the money 7 cashed. I had one chance for a possible 3-bet but they had me covered and I was going to be playing OOP as the small blind. AJ suited facing LJ I believe.

Unlike most tournaments I don't remember a lot of spots that I could have played differently, the one mentioned above is about the only one that sticks out. I folded to a flop bet, with no diamonds on the board and it being 8,9,5 2 spades.

I grabbed a ton of screencaps of me losing flips or getting sucked out on so I may group them together and share in the next couple of days. I did manage to win with AA twice I think, because everyone folded pre  Angry, Ran my KK into AA a few times, so gross. That's the problem with taking shots though, the bad side of variance can kill your action quickly.
352  Economy / Gambling / Re: #4 Bitcointalk Poker Series @ SwC Poker (0.06 BTC, BIG BTC Ticket by SwC) on: October 12, 2020, 05:32:15 PM
Stats are updated. There is definitely a tight race for the last few spots in the final. I'll have to set an alarm coming off nightshift, might just play from bed lol. Gotta try and keep in the top 9, got lucky this week that I still had some chips by the time I got to the tables. Lasted all of 1 hand being dealt JJ, would have been a great late game double as it looks like I just showed up and shoved/called, deservedly so I ran into an AA shove. So my prediction of getting there and shoving into the nuts was, pretty close.

See you guys next week. I'm at work, so no image yet, but if no one else grabs one I'll post tonight.
353  Economy / Gambling / Re: #4 Bitcointalk Poker Series @ SwC Poker (0.06 BTC, BIG BTC Ticket by SwC) on: October 11, 2020, 02:36:12 PM
Sup folks. I'll be registering but can't be sure I make it back for the tourney today. It's turkeyday/Thanksgiving here and while the plan was to eat earlier more like lunch and chill the rest of the day, plans are crumbling and commotion is picking up.... typical holiday lol. Hoping I only miss out the first hour and can still get in there and jam into the nuts.

Good luck all

354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: October 11, 2020, 01:10:10 AM
Hand#2
*** TURN *** [3s Kd 4d] [6s] Main pot 10296.00
Hero bets 2574.00
Villain calls 2574.00
the problem with that weak delayed cbet is that your only move now is to shove the river, and the villain likely feels pot committed if he has a made hand. that's why stack sizes made this one so tough.
i'm curious to see how this one turned out.
I agree, when betting 25% pot you kind of invite a lot of people to call. When being the pre flop raisers an continuation bet is standard these days. And bluffing on the turn or river should be much larger in my opinion. Bet sizing became such an important tool in the last years.
You both make a good point. In the moment it was to feel things out. I figured if they had the K, or something like AA they were going to raise it up, if they flat they might just be drawing, could have also got some A high to just fold out or even weaker draws. I hate the spot in general but decided if the River was clean I was CHK calling.

I will go will bet, bet , check for this if there is no Ace on the river as Villain might have combination of AK on his hands. If Villain has K on his hands , he might be trying to size up the pot on the turn so anything between 50% pot would be an alert for me but if he checks then I will be betting on turn , probably fold on the river if he try to bet.
Some of that doesn't work out with me being out of position. I understand keeping up the aggression from my 3-bet though.
Yeah the SWC tournaments have not been kind to me. Hoping to turn things around but I'm 0 for 5 now, even lost heads-up for a ticket into tonights 5K, had a 4-1 chiplead but had such garbage cards I couldn't flex much. Every time I had something worth it they would fold out, Lost a bunch of flips with decent suited connectors against random Ax. Disheartening to say the least. Either way see how today finishes up and gear up for the Big BTC tomorrow night; still got my golden ticket lol

*** RIVER *** [3s Kd 4d 6s] [Jh] Main pot 15444.00
Hero checks
Villain bets 15444.00
Hero calls 11906.00 and is all-in
Villain shows [Tc 7c]

I am curious about peoples thoughts on my turn shove in hand 1. These are the sorts of hands I've been trying to gather more of, when I have 2nd pair and the board pairs the top pair card. To me then I start to think they either had an overpair and focus on the pre-flop or that my 2nd pair might be good.

355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: October 09, 2020, 11:17:31 PM
damn, another shitty change from SwC? satellite won tickets used to be good for like 2 years......
I just logged in and checked and mine is valid until 2022, was it a big btc ticket or a ticket to the big btc satellite?
No this was just my dumbass. I got so used to entering these satellites that I didn't bother to read the full prize description or title for that matter. Not a big deal it runs a bit latter than we were planning to eat, and it's just us at home this year no big gathering.

Funny little update busted my first bullet in the opening event tonight with my AA, against 33, they flopped a set and jammed  my raise on the turn when a K came off. No way I was folding, unfortunately. Second bullet not so hot but lots of time yet.

I would raise again before the turn card. Hero raised to 4560 kinda signals that he has a good hand so a check on the Flop would be weird and with a K on the board, it is better to raise at this point. ~snipped~
Atleast this is what I would do Tongue

Makes sense and seems like a solid gameplan so You'd go Bet,Chk,Bet, or Bet,Chk,Chk - What aggression from the Villain makes you fold this hand? Them betting the turn? or betting/raising the river??
I generally prefer to lead out in these spots as a bluff, or made hand with top pair/flopped set type hand to see where I'm at. Like you said there can be a lot of Ax, or draws that will fold out. Having been the preflop 3-better I don't think it's strange for me to lead out with a bet, but can sometimes scare people off the hands I can beat.
stack size makes postflop action tough here. i prefer a cbet on the flop (tough because you're almost stuck between donk betting and shoving) but like i said, been feeling splashy. Tongue

I definitely felt like I had to be more conscious with my chips given the size of the pot at this point. I am really concerned about this new Splashy behavior I'm hearing about, who is this guy  Tongue - If not for the K, A jam isn't bad - I know I've fallen for it with top pair if say a J was on the board.

Overall I figured this street I might lose value from a flush draw on 1 street, and could be giving them a free card to try and complete. I figured I would also get decent information from them if they just CHK back the flop - How could they not stab at that fat pot with all of their Kx. Given stack sizes there should still be plenty of time to get all the money in on favorable turns and rivers.

Hand#1
any other reads on the big stack?
sometimes i like to raise out there......good equity, enough chips behind that you can opt to fold to a 3bet. as played, i like a CRAI but hey, i've been feeling splashy lately. can't tell if the big stack is just betting into weakness or actually has a hand, so fold equity is a tossup.
It was clear they were using their stack to put pressure on people around the Bubble. So I don't really have them on a made hand. One thing was that I had seen them call down fairly light in the past, and I'm not sure if my stack falls into that category.
Lol who is this splashy dude, really gonna mix up the series when you make it back in.
I elect to flat call the raise, only because it's the bubble. Not great but I would still have an 8BB stack or so to make the money and Jam a strong hand pre. They may also feel like things are getting trappy and pump the breaks; could just be wishful thinking.

Hand#1

Wow didn't realize it had been this long, crazy few months. I have one of those spots with second pair and the board pairs the top pair(possible trips), I had more equity than usual but think these are fun tough spots to figure out; unlike guessing top pair against flopped set  Angry. Second hand is a bit of a classic, strong pair flopping an overcard, facing pressure.

Hand#1 is near the bubble, Big stack is the BTN, and has nearly double anyone else at the table.

Side note. I've shifted my focus more to playing on SWC for a bit, so I might start bringing in more images.

Something to potentially look forward to. I'm going to throw my hat in the ring for a few of the series tournaments on SWC this week. Last night I won a Big BTC 500chip satty for this Sunday. This was nice, as I previously bubbled like 3 of these at varying buy-ins essentially I likely could have entered twice by the time I was done losing all my attempts lol.
I do have to get better at reading the prize description though, I just saw Big BTC and assumed it would be a saved ticket, nah it was specific for this Sunday, then I remembered it's Thanksgiving lol, us damn Canadians. Either way we should be eating early and I've been home all week  so I think I'll be okay. I'm probably going to keep trying to target satellites for 5K(chips obviously lol) plus entries, that or attempt to sell some action never done that before but we'll see.
357  Economy / Reputation / Re: VOD IS ABUSING TRUST SYSTEM COUNTLESS TIMES. NOT MODERATED LIKE VOD's THREADS! on: October 09, 2020, 04:35:08 PM
You are free to write whatever you want here.  If you post it on my on-topic thread, it will be deleted as off topic.  I want to collect a list of things I have done wrong.
You're like someone who just broke my window and cried racism when I accused you.
You won't get any more attention from me.
Why wouldn't this be a neutral. You are trying pretty hard to maintain your reputation, and this just looks petty and sub par for appropriate feedback. Come on this is the internet, you felt comfortable enough putting your personal situations out there for all to read, so don't get hurt then petty when someone uses that against you. You clearly know how to use neutrals, but this seems like a reaction to the personal attacks more than anything.
Nothing you have stated validates the use of negative over neutral.

*maintain seems the appropriate wording depending on differing opinions.

Edit: I'm glad to see you've converted it to a neutral feedback.
358  Economy / Reputation / Re: How do you get rid of the unreliable(red) trust ? on: October 09, 2020, 04:08:23 PM
Tagging a participant not doing sufficient work is wrong in the first place in my opinion. We both will agree that the feedback culture we have in here (red tag for scammer) and feedback culture in a freelancing website or ebay kind of platform are not the same. Not making sufficient work can not be considered as scamming. So, I would say leaving a neg to OP from Wapinter is not justified in the first place.
Agreed. It falls well below my standards for feedback. A neutral comment on their work quality would have made sense. That's what I base my opinions on regarding actions OP could reasonably take. With what is presented I see the managers actions worse than OP's.

Problem is though OP, went all flammy and ranty as well, I linked it. Not that that deserves red trust but could show why communication broke down. Who knows.

Probably won't come back to comment anymore, this is just starting to turn into another feedback circlejerk discussion, up until OP or Wapinter do something one way or another.

Yes it was regarding EndtheFed and HigherHighs.
They both advertise tournaments and so on all the time in the chat, not even playing them themselves (only register seconds before late reg is closed). Which normal player does that?
Is it normal to write "tournament this and that starts in 10 minutes", and posting this stuff like every 15 minutes? EndtheFed does exactly that but still him and swc claim they have no relationship whatsoever. You believe that?
Once he even offered a bubble insurance for players that register before the tournament starts, "out of his own pocket" he claimed. I asked him why he would do that and the reply was "I want a nice tournament to run". Now guess what, he was online the whole time promoting tournaments but didnt even register for the mentioned tournament. Makes a lot of sense.
Honestly this doesn't make me think he's an employee. I used to think they were more, much before that, for many of the same reasons you mentioned. It used to piss me off seeing them late reg and build a decent stack or just flip and bust. The more I saw ETF at the tables though the less I though they were an employee. One big reason is that Bubble protection is cheap, especially when it was only being offered in the Thursday Double from what I caught. Why have your "secret employee" offer it in the chat, and not just make it part of the tournament or site rules.
Personally, I've also found entering most SWC tournaments on max Late. Reg isn't the disadvantage it usually is with small fields and still usually having 20BB+, you often still have 20 BB+ and a lot of the players have pretty easy tendencies to pick up on if you play with them enough. Not the best strategy but still reasonable.

It is not that I dislike the fact that obvious employees play at the site ( although I thinks its concerning ) but that they are affiliated and both sites claim they arent.
Both members also had green chat, no normal player can have green chat. SWC replied to the green chat thing something like "maybe they used green chat before it got deleted in an update and so they kept it" . HH admited he got the green chat from swc directly and hours after I mentioned endthefed's green chat in the thread he changed it.
Yeah the handling of HH and their Mod abilities, whatever the extent wound up being was shitty to say the least. HH, got the color when they became a Moderator it seems, and not going to lie could have been a legitimate software oversight when bestowing whatever privilege they were given.  Prior to this it seemed they just reported a ton of stuff, and acted as an employee, essentially working to ingratiate themselves and maybe earn a role in the organization. So I don't know when it was official or not that they got Chat Mod priveleges, over just reporting people. It also seems different than a secret employee and anything nefarious at least to me. Did I read right earlier in the thread it was announced they were removed as a Chat Moderator as well??
Also I'll mention the chat color at least seems possible, but I don't know enough about their software/client upgrades and when Green color was removed as an option. Goin with this forum as an example, I can't use an animated GIF as my Avatar, but there are several on forum who still have them because they had it before the change went into place.

By the way, trust me I made my concerns clear, it just got deleted by swc.
Also, I never cared about the chat, I couldn't care less about it to be honest. I had a lot of players muted as I was sick of reading begging and other bs in the chat or at the table.
Regardless to me none of this stuff really screams secret employees at least not long-term, maybe in the case of HH another example of a poor effort communicating changes... I really don't know. You mentioned something about HH, having something to do with Tournament planning, do you know the extent? I saw they have a password protected player freeroll with some ticket entries to some upcoming series events. It's labeled an HH event, and sort of reinforced a theory I've had brewing.
I read somewhere that they have both been long time players on SWC, is there a chance they just have a fat BTC bankroll from their early days when BTC mooned. Given what I've seen on this forum from people, performing moderator/admin tasks, with the hope they get tapped to take on a real role for the forum. That or the people who do freeroll giveaways ranging .01 to .2 BTC, open to almost everyone on forum. These types of individuals will often do things out of their own time and pocket to make the place they enjoy hanging out, more enjoyable and/or inviting to others.

I could just be ridiculously naive, but it just seems reasonable that there are more options out there than secret employees playing. From a companies perspective when they answer once I understand not repeating themselves. It was stupid to erase the original Q&A, and locking the thread. Sadly it's not surprising, they probably assume they get a better community engagement through social media than the forum, and decided it's no longer worth discussing here.

Regardless there is no way to prove it all one way or another. I can't see SWC being able to provide a statement that doesn't admit to the accusations, being accepted as a response by anyone who believes there was wrongdoing. Myself, I wasn't affected by anything that gave me the impression there was wrongdoing, and still feel as comfortable as one can playing online Poker and will continue to play there. Don't get me wrong there was some incompetence along the way, but hardly enough to even remotely warrant a boycott.

yeah, i hear ya. one thing to note is that BBJ tables are where all the action is on SwC, more often than not. also, it's not just the player that gets the bad beat who gets paid out---so does the hand winner + everyone else dealt into the hand. this dynamic tends to make the BBJ tables even juicier, so the jackpot isn't the only reason to play them.
Not going to lie so pissed with myself. I easily should have been sitting at that table lol. The last few months my boy has been a shit sleeper lol, so I often have to chill upstairs to make sure he stays in his room/bed and goes to sleep. Took this time to play a bunch of 25/50 in hopes of spiking the BBj or at least being at the table. For whatever reason, I consciously decided to take the night off lol. Don't think I've played a cash game since.

360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's F'n happening ----- Polk VS. Negreanu HUNL Grudge Match on: October 09, 2020, 02:00:09 PM
i think doug will win too.... but at those odds? i'm taking negreanu all day. lemme know if you feel like taking another little bet.
I'll consider it a victory when compared against all my other marginal gambles. This way
I've time travelled to mid-September for better odds. Really just what I get for being lazy and not jumping on a bet early on.
Sorry this was pretty much my cap for this bet; I might look around and drop a small bet on Daniel now though.

he's 100% fucking with doug's head IMO. Tongue
Weird enough Doug's response somewhere in there stated he's like to use Preflop charts, but nothing postflop. Not going to lie found it surprising, but what do I know.
Cool!  Lezz go!  Smiley
We just do USD value in BTC of whatever the price of BTC is at.  So if BTC is at 12k or so we just do amount of bet/BTC price.
I think the most fair way of going about the match is just make it as close to a live HU match as possible.  No HUD, RTA, spreadsheets and charts.  Just the players and their wits.
Sounds good. Yeah the ideal would be the 2 of them separated by Plexiglass across the table from each other. I'll take what I can get but I found this exchange to be weird and unexpected. I did notice Max Silver offering them 100BB Shove charts lol.

Bahaha, so I was reviewing their twitter feeds as it's now my morning laugh, and thought I'd be showing something new here and I stumble upon your tweet back to Doug lol. BEat me to it. I don't know what happened and how Daniel went from I'm okay with charts to calling them out as RTA, and saying they ruin the game.

Just seems funny to me that preflop charts are now such a big discussion. I know when I play I tend to have some open on the laptop, because I like to look back after I make my decision to see if I'm making the "right" plays.
