61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Request to learn gambling on: November 29, 2023, 01:35:33 PM
Well, this is another serious matter, and I had to discourage her.

It's about an old female friend who posted me just about two days ago; her request was for me to teach her how to gamble at any easy casino that she will understand so quickly and make money. Her motive for making this kind of request is because she wants a second source that she can use to earn extra income. I explained what gambling truly is, and I discouraged her from learning how to gamble.

Now, there's a simple question that I want to ask: do you guys think I should introduce her to gambling? If yes, what's the easiest game she can stake in and also enjoy while gambling?
The fact that your friend sees gambling as another source of income, that alone proves that she'll easily fall to gambling addiction while chasing profits in gambling. It's best to stop her from learning gambling, otherwise you'll be the one to blame in the future if she end up financially broke and homeless.

Gambling is design to entertain people through betting in exciting games, but if she will use this as an opportunity to earn a living, I bet she will never achieve her goal. Although she can gamble, but only to have fun and not to gain a stable income.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes betting is just ridiculous. Sometimes it is complete nonsense. on: November 29, 2023, 12:08:06 PM
I was surfing on the Instagram and found this:

(source: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CyzDDHfOU0c/?igshid=ZDE1MWVjZGVmZQ==)

I understand that this is fake and was made for a joke. But some people dont know what jokes should be ended or are inappropriate... However, since some casinos have "special" section in sports betting (why this is in sports betting anyway?), and allow to place bets on election outcome, or on Oscar winner, or on music event like Eurovision, I would not be much surprised that in 5 or 10 years we would really have such absurd betting options. And most important what scares me, that casinos will hide behind "there is a demand on such betting" and there really be people who will find this demanding.
Jokes are made for fun, but I think this one is not funny at all. Reputable casinos do not entertain this kind of bet as it could only offend those countries involved and might trigger for another war. And obviously no one wins in a war, as both countries have put their people in danger.

However, if you do this kind of bet between your friends, this could be possible but I still see it very inappropriate when people bet on war while seeing those countries affected still struggling to survive.

64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 28, 2023, 08:53:48 PM
It is obvious that no good thing that come easy and when you are not lucky in gambling you are not lucky and a lucky person in everything he tries might still be a lucky person on gambling because i dont see what you know you do consistently and is not favourable to you yet you are still in it, that is stupidity to a reasonable man and even if your taking it to be for funs but definitely you are spending carelessly on it and truly the mindset of a gambler is to get not to loose and on a casino game a real gambler must wisely have a plan and adhere on rules to actualize it target and rich gamblers stake high in a low game which is possible to win but does not get addicted  because he analyse and strategize before staking so if it is not favourable to you does not mean is not favourable to some lucky persons and these are the mindset of rich person(mind)not of the poor person (mind).
I don't think it works that way, because gambling is not limited to any individual nor to its status in the society. If he is rich, then that will bring more good to the casino house because they can gained more profits from him, while putting him at the losing end. But they know they can't maximize their profits if they only accept rich gamblers, that's why those middle class and even the poor ones are always open to gamble at the casino as well.

However, if you gamble with luck, you will gain the highest advantage and make big wins, but luck does not come to everyone, that's why some of the gamblers keep pushing their luck so that they won't experience all-in losses in gambling.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not this guy on: November 28, 2023, 07:53:20 PM
There is some certain amount of money that you will lose and you will be so pissed and probably quit, but not this guy.

I've been talking a lot about how people should learn to be a responsible gambler but there is a crazy gambler that I just meet, from a friends friend, the crazy thing about this person is how about how much he has lost in gambling, enough to go south in the ear of others and he has never made any big gains to cover what he has lost, the crazy part is...

This guy is giving me a weird vibe, like a different gambling breed, he knows he have the gambling addiction problem but he just doesn't care, like for real, he doesn't care, the amount he has lost is in six figures but very weird how he is able to handle it.

Some gamblers are different breed to be honest, they don't care about what their present situation is, if they are breathing they are good, anyone know crazy gambler who don't care if they lose big amount of money and they still gamble?

I've get to know that not all gamblers need to be a responsible gambler, some knows, they are not hypnotized by gambling, they are fully awake and they still choose to be a reckless gambler.
Well, as you've said that he's in deep gambling addiction, so he is now unable to control himself anymore and just gamble whenever he wanted to gamble. If he lose, that's okay because he's actually ready for it, and probably he knows that he can never take an edge over the casino house so he just gamble just to feel satisfied even if it means losing a lot of money.

I guess there's no weird about him, that's how most gambling addicts behave most especially if they have a lot of money to bet and lose. And if ever all his funds have already used up, I don't think he'd be able to gamble again, unless if he has still some assets to bet.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wedding expenses and party celebrations with Bitcoin money. on: November 27, 2023, 09:29:48 PM
Congratulations mate! I think this is the first time I've seen here selling bitcoin to be used for wedding preparations. Bitcoin has never fail us especially in making our important days in our lives more memorable. I'm sure when you come to share your story to a non-bitcoin lover, it will come to attract them and become curious if bitcoin is really that profitable and beneficial. I also have my own projects with my bitcoin profits, but its more on buying another asset and bitcoin will definitely fund it for me.

However, on your next investment, hopefully you can hold bitcoin even longer especially that bitcoin halving is getting near. When that happens, you will gain bigger amount of profits in the future that will surely be a lot satisfying and beneficial to you.

67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: November 24, 2023, 06:41:39 PM
I am consistently reassessing and reevaluating my investment strategy as the halving could have a significant impact on the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins. The halving could also lead to a surge in interest in altcoins. As such, I am on the lookout for alternative investment opportunities. And, of course, dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is a consistent investment I make. That's my plan, at least. What are your plans for the upcoming halving?
Just like yours, doing DCA is the best thing. I am very optimistic that this upcoming bitcoin halving will definitely create big positive changes in my life that's why I'm always looking forward doing DCA continuously and sets bigger allocation for bitcoin investment as its the most profitable asset when bull run happens after bitcoin halving. Although there are also highly potential altcoins that may come up highly profitable as well, but nothing beats bitcoin when it comes to its life changing rewards.

While others focus on altcoins more than bitcoin, but still I suggest follow the DCA thing. DCA is not only limited for bitcoin but for potential altcoins as well.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading vs HODL - Personal Experience for Newbies on: November 24, 2023, 05:37:05 PM
Hi everyone,

Bitcoin price is going up, resistances are being converted into supports. I want to share my advice and personal experience with beginners and newbies on this forum and explain what is good for them in the long term. If you are an experienced member/trader, take it lightly.

Alright, Newbie, I will start without wasting your time. Bitcoin Trading will never be profitable in the long term as compared to HODL.
You will never win or become a millionaire if you decide to take leverage, use Future Trading, or even Spot Trading. You can never catch every move perfectly.

If you are new and making a profit, that's called beginner's luck. That doesn't mean shit and no, you do not LEAVE your job to become a full-time trader.
Always collect Bitcoin, Spend at least 20% of your savings on collecting sats.

And once again, Leverage is your biggest enemy. Even 2x leverage is dangerous.
Bitcoin Halving is approaching, I would suggest all of you focus on buying more, avoiding selling, as these prices will never come in the future.

All the best! <3
You don't have to compare bitcoin hodling and trading as you can do them both if you are an experienced trader and as an investor as well. Yes, trading has definitely more risks than long term hodling, but you know the profits for trading are obviously bigger and faster to achieve if you are a good trader. However, if you can't trade and don't even know the basics of trading and is very fearful on losses, then settle on long term hodling and wait for the perfect time to sell and reap profits.

But if you want to maximize your profits and would never want to miss opportunities that the crypto market has to offer, then encourage yourself to learn about trading but always trade on an amount that you can afford to lose, and never expect only pure profits but losses as well.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: November 24, 2023, 04:58:20 PM
I was listening to a news that one of the relatives of a person kidnapped him and asked him for bitcoin in ransom. This happened because that person showed his bitcoin holdings to many of his relatives and news spread among them that he has lot of money invested in crypto. Though, finally funds were recovered from that guy but he could have even lost his life in the whole scenario. Thus, you should be careful with disclosing about your bitcoin holdings to everyone.
For everyone to be safe, just keep privately whatever asset or achievement you have.  You don't need to let the world know what's happening to you or how far your achievements have gone. That will only trigger some negative feeling towards other people or even your relatives once they have discovered that you're richer than them or you're keeping wealth that they don't expect. Bitcoin has a very expensive value, so never tell or disclose to others that you have or more hodlings as your investment.

However, despite of the reminders often that its not safe to expose yourself that you are a bitcoin hodler, but still a lot of investors think differently.  I don't know what's their reason of disclosing but surely, it will create a sort of envy to those who don't want to celebrate with your achievements in life.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 24, 2023, 01:21:33 PM
Aside from taking a risk, I don't see any relation between a gambler and a good bitcoin trader. So, I certainly believe that even if you are the worst gambler, you can still be a good bitcoin trader if you are inclined on trading market analysis and you have the skills and strategies to trade. Unless if you don't know what you are entering about, then you might end up gambling and not actually bitcoin trading.

However, being a gambler is not really a problem if you wish to trade bitcoin at the same time. As long as you can stop the habit of being a compulsive gambler, then you can try trading too and become a skillful and profitable trader as well.
71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: November 23, 2023, 09:53:00 PM
In trading sometimes, there are situations and several times where traders while observing a trade placed and the profit they have made already  from it  begin to think and consider to exit from the trade and take the profit that they have made instead of waiting to the end.

Do you accept to be a weak trader or a wise trader when you exit a trade taking some profit, but not the entirety of what you want on your TP?

It is better that I take little profit and close the trade than I allow greed lead me to loss. You might think that the profit is small but the important thing is that you made profit. The little profit that you have seen is far better than the big profit that you have seen but expecting to see it.  This is why I wouldn't say that it is due to weakness but because you are after not securing loss. The painful thing is when to think to the south and the market turns north, this is why trading secure more of loss than profit because it is difficult to know where the direction of the market in the next minutes.
The essence why we trade in the first place is to acquire profits. And when we see even small profits, for me that could be a good sign to sell and exit a trade and just buy back again when the price hits low. But if you aim for bigger profits, then continue to trade. You will never achieve good amount of profits if you never pursue trading regardless if the market is favorable or not to trade. As long as you are an experienced trader, you know exactly how to win your trades despite of the negativity of the market.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 23, 2023, 09:20:33 PM
There exist over one million and one reason why people hate gambling, but few benefits of gambling can make a player to outsmart his colleagues in the office. Or even in an interview. I was able to check how gambling benefits relate to what HR officers look out for in a candidate before hiring them. There are 2 main benefit of gambling that improves the major skills people look out for in an employee in every offices.

1. Critical thinking: there have never been any job opening that doesn't require candidates to have this skill, because every company needs it to grow. And under critical thinking include skills like problem solving, idealist etc.

2. Socialization: Mainly the corporate world will call it interpersonal relationship. It's a very crucial skill anywhere we find ourselves in the world. And gamblers who participate in board games, easily develop the skill. When in the office, they'll always socialize and make friends with co-workers.

Personally, I've experienced these two, in my daily conversation with people. And realized that my responses are now more effective than it used to be in the past, before I began gambling. I'd always think fast and respond accurately what the next person wants to hear. And most times it makes them laugh.  Grin

There are other benefits of gambling, and how it has helped your gambling life. It'll be great if you shared some of it with us. Cheers.
That could be an advantage if you are a long time gambler but still gamble responsibly. You gained higher experiences on the development of critical thinking skills because you are exposed to different game analysis and creating decisions that support your critical thinking. You are faced with different challenges to win, so most probably you have wider critical thinking analysis than those who are not exposed to gambling.

However, on part of socialization, not really limited to gambling but as long as you are used to mingle yourself with different types of people, you will enhanced more of your socialization skills. Of course, with having positive attitude, rest assured that you can socialize well with others.
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin, when to buy on: November 23, 2023, 08:24:20 PM
The growth of Bitcoin over years have made it one of the most sorted after asset in the world right now and to me it's a lifetime opportunity that needed to be seized,

So my question is when is the best time to buy Bitcoin?

Many people that have been into the industry before I even came in have mostly suggested the DCA method, some advice I allowed it to drop to my convenience price before I buy.

As a newbie I feel the DCA method is the best base on my own perspective of looking at it on the long term, I don't know if anyone have any better opinion? Because I believe in the hype that  this forum is filled with knowledgeable people about cryptocurrency.

The fact that bitcoin's value always appreciate its value every year, I guess it's safe to say that everyday is the best time to buy regardless of its current price. You are not investing for short term duration but certainly for long term hodling so even if you buy at a high price, that is not going to worry you because you are not selling it in the first place when bitcoin price is dumping.

I believe the best decision is to DCA instead. Aside that you won't miss any opportunity in the market, your bitcoin portfolio will continue to grow even more as you try to buy when you have spare money to spend.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 23, 2023, 05:16:59 PM
I have the believe that success in gambling requires a mixture of luck and skill. This is opposed to some people that believe that gambling is entirely a game of luck and others who believe it is entirely a game of skill.

So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?
Well, it depends on what type of games you are betting. If you go for luck based games like roulette and slots, obviously you need to acquire luck before you are expected to win, but there are things you can do to boost the odds of winning. However, if you go for skill-based games like poker and blackjack, skills are highly needed but luck should also favor you so you can successfully win from your bet.

However, if you gamble with luck and skills, that will be your edge from winning your bets. Gambling is certainly pure luck, but having skills create a high advantage to boost the odds of winning.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Letting the cat out of the bag on: November 22, 2023, 09:41:32 PM
Honestly, I have never met or being close with someone who is highly addicted in gambling. Or if ever they are, maybe they are keeping it to theirselves because they always think that no one will be able to understand them or help them in any way. But if ever I have a close friend who falls deeply on gambling addiction, I will not force him to open up but give him the time to think it to himself until he's ready to share his burden. And when that time comes, the best way is just to listen to him and give him advices to control his gambling urge if he still want to get relieved from that worst situation.

Family and friends are also very important factors since they will serve as a strong back ups for the addicted gambler. Otherwise, if he has no one to share, he might get into suicidal which is very common to those addicted gamblers who have never felt support and care from their loved ones.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Things to avoid as a beginner on: November 22, 2023, 08:33:49 PM
For the time I have been on this platform I have not really received any message from Amy newbie account or even established member asking me for merit or anything of such nature. From what you have said OP I believe you must have had such messages and I hope you don't mind quoting it here for us to see if possible.

Climbing up the ladder is not that easy here but with commitment and focus it would not be too cumbersome to achieve. The issue of burst posting I think should be left for managers to decide otherwise there are quality posts out there which might emanate from such and  if we are to go by that measures, those post are good enough to earn merit which they eventually does.
I think the major thing we need to avoid as a member of this forum is not just avoid merit trading and burst posting, we also need to avoid plagiarism which is the major reasons why many accounts are been ban from the forum. If we get an article from a particular source, it is good for us to drop the link so that it is going to be obvious that the article is not actually written by us and it not our own work. Many people especially the newbies make this mistakes and finally see their account getting ban. Plagiarism are always been report by people that know how to catch those that like calming other people's work.
Plagiarism creates the biggest offense in the forum because its clearly a sign of dishonesty, owning the woks of others and claim it to be their own. Obviously, those who are caught doing this should go straight to banning permanently so they won't be able to deceive in the future. However, burst posting is not actually done by beginners since they are still not allowed participating in any signature campaign, but with merit trading, well there are actually number of members who are apparently resorting doing that which for me is very inappropriate and should be given proper sanction once proven in the forum.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 22, 2023, 07:50:12 PM
Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? If yes, what had been your strategy ? Do you diversify to multiple games in order to ensure that end result is always profit ?

I personally feel that there are very less chances of making a steady income with gambling. In fact, if you win a big amount in gambling, from there on , you should play games with less on stake and keep the winnings invested in some good option like crypto. It is important to have self control to end profitably with gambling ventures online. Do you agree with this ?
Gambling outcome is always unpredictable so it certainly cannot guarantee a steady income or keeps you stay in profits. You can gamble and be lucky today and make profits, but eventually after winning, when you decide to gamble more, you will surely end up with losing again your gained profits. And the fact that gamblers do not win but mostly lose, so I cannot even tell if consistent gambling really gives us an income because most of the time, we tend to lose our capital and never recover it again.

Maybe for some lucky gamblers, they gamble and made big winnings, but its only rare to happen. Gambling is  a business so the casino house won't never make profits if they keep us winning the whole time.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Start with the little you have, you don't need millions of dollars to own BTC. on: November 21, 2023, 09:59:38 PM
Bitcoin investment does not require you to buy instantly the whole bitcoin. That's too expensive for any beginner investor and that will only put you at a high risk of losing. Learn to start a little, and start with an amount that you can simply afford to lose. After all, the real challenge in any investment is how to grow your investment throughout the years, and not because you started it big, that guarantees that your investment profits will forever be big.

Remember that majority of the successful investors have started from the scratch, and that most of them have even a hard time providing for a capital.  But that never stop them from investing, but learning to invest at your small spare money could create a good start. The important thing here is you take the risk to invest, and not like others who have keep missing opportunities because their reason is they're not ready to invest and lose.
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk forum a home of solution on: November 21, 2023, 08:54:14 PM
Bitcointalk forum is a home of solution to any problem you can think of so far as it is concerned with financial growth.  Nobody comes with a problem to bitcointalk that users of the forum don't try their best to give good solutions to the problem.  Bitcointalk is a forum that carries everyone along and does not segregates or look down on any of it members.

In bitcointalk forum so far as you are ready to speak out burdens affecting your financial growth,  wrong investment,  storing bitcoin on wallet not good enough their will be solutions to all these problems.

Members who benefit a lot from bitcointalk are members who don't keep challenges or problems to themselves but want to see themselves grow.  I just want to appreciate all forum members who have been of help help in one way or the other to members whose problems have been solved and also appreciate you all as you continue to solve more problems for members that needs helps.
Of course, when you are in bitcointalk forum, everyone shares and contributes the best of their advices and solutions to one's problem, but it does not change the fact that there are still problems left to be unsolved. And probably if there won't be solutions to it, then the best thing to do is just to learn from that problem and never create the same mistake again. Good thing that this forum never lets you feel that you are already at the losing end, instead it will encourage you to never quit and keep moving forward.

The reason why I'm so thankful being part of this forum. And as much as possible, I make sure that my posts are worth something so that other members will learn as well, just like as I keep learning from all their posts.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: November 21, 2023, 07:59:43 PM
A few days ago, I posed a question in this forum, wondering if, as someone who engages in gambling, you've ever considered thought of giving back to the community if you ever had a successful gambling run. I carefully went through all the responses, maintaining keen interest and taking note of each perspective. Another aspect of the inquiry involves whether you would be willing to participate in crowdfunding for a fellow gambler who reaches out to the public through social media seeking financial support after they gambled with the funds meant for an important project like, investment, school fees, rent, marriage or any other thing. And what would you say to those who go ahead to donate to these gamblers out of a sense of empathy?
Definitely not. As a gambler, we should know how to play the game responsibly and set limits in betting so we won't be gambling those amount that are not intended to bet in gambling. So if you're gambling irresponsibly, facing the consequences of your action will help you learn your lesson. And I won't support any crowdfunding for such irresponsible gamblers because if I do that, it's like I'm tolerating his wrong doing and allow him to repeat the same mistake again.

Letting him experience the consequences of his actions is the best thing to do. That way, aside that he will learn his lesson, he will start to control his gambling habit from then on and become a responsible gambler. Otherwise, helping him will make him only feel that it's okay to gamble irresponsibly because there are still friends who will make up for him.
