361  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 18, 2023, 09:27:26 PM
It is important to track your losses and profit. Because with that, you're able to distinguish if you're a profitable trader or you just keep on losing.

At the end, you'll still be emotional whether you track it or not because that's what trading is for. Even if you're not going to say that you're not an emotional trader.

That will still push you to look at your progress and the pressure will remain as you do your trades. IMO, it's okay to track those.
If you can track your losses as well as your profits, then you can evaluate yourself as a trader if you are really making progress or not. Otherwise, if you keep on committing consistent losses without getting any significant gains, then think a lot of times if you still want to pursue trading. Though these can trigger your emotions as a trader, but I do believe it’s actually important so you can set and improve your goals as a trader.
362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why non-trader beginners prefer to leave their BTC on CEX? on: July 18, 2023, 08:55:20 PM
Because they always believe that CEX are like banks, your coins or funds are safe with them. But for real traders, it’s a different thing. It’s only good to use CEX only when you decide to trade, but it will never be good and suitable enough to leave btc in exchanges for long term safekeeping. That is completely risking your bitcoin, because the moment you put it in an exchange, that is not your coin anymore, that is already owned by CEX, which means losing your full control on your own bitcoin.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin according to Satoshi is digital money then why call it investment. on: July 18, 2023, 08:22:05 PM
Bitcoin is an asset that allows its holders to earn huge returns due to the very high market demand. Its price volatility allows you to make multiple profits instead of using it as a means of payment. Of course it's fine if you don't make bitcoins as an investment asset, but you may miss the opportunity to get a return from its price volatility.

Bitcoin is traded around the clock and it would definitely be a great value added asset to have. While some users consider it digital gold, it's because of how the market works just like any other investment asset.
Bitcoin is originally designed to a be a digital currency. However, since it’s adoption is still in the process, people are free to use it as an investment knowing it can give us massive returns everytime it’s value surges high and reaches another peak price. Through long term hodling and trading, bitcoin can give us 10x profits as long as we’re aware when would be its best time to sell, and that is when it’s price has reached its all time high.
364  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask for POD form from your bank on: July 17, 2023, 09:51:32 PM
I though it right to share this with the forum as I think this will save some persons from a whole lot of drama and stress in case of a deceased.
I got to find out about a POD form which simply means  PAYABLE ON DEATH  from a friend yesterday  after his father  passed on, leaving them with some reasonable  sum of money in the bank and upon check, the father already has a POD form which saved them from the stress of getting a lawyer and all the legal processes to claim the money but rather all they had to do was get a death certificate, take it to the bank along with the POD form and the money will be issued.

I felt this was very important because I know how much effort and money it took us to get access to my late fathers money in the bank after he passed on.

I think everyone needs to get this form especially  if you have any holdings in the bank.

N/B: no one is dying anytime soon but death is inevitable.
Thank you for the information OP. Yes, death is inevitable that’s why we have to at least prepare for it. I just hope banks are also smart enough to inform their clients about getting a POD especially for their big clients so that when unforeseen events suddenly happen, those families left will still benefit from their late family member’s bank deposits and investments.
365  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I avoid and identify scams? on: July 17, 2023, 09:28:45 PM
Don’t trust altcoins in the market as they can’t be trustable and stay valuable for long. Most of them are just too good to be true at first and after seeing some crashes in the market, eventually altcoins have start to lose their value and end us shitcoins. Instead, focus and prioritize bitcoin. Bitcoin has been the most trusted crypto in the market, you will never go wrong with it.
366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbies can't profit from crypto without knowing how to trade. Truth or Myth? on: July 17, 2023, 08:55:51 PM
I overheard my coworkers discussing the idea that new investors in crypto cannot make profits without possessing trading skills. I would like to initiate a discussion on whether this claim is true or false. In my view, this belief is a false notion that is spread by individuals who want to discourage those who are curious about investing in crypto. What is your perspective on this topic?

Guys, I mean what other ways can newbies benefit from crypto investment without having to be a day trader or a professional trader. Because I believe there are other ways to earn aside from trading.
Apparently, you will never earn from long term hodling if you never decide to sell them at a higher price. That’s where trading takes place by selling your coin at an exchange with its high and reasonable price. So yes, for me trading is very crucial in crypto because you cannot experience profiting unless you decide to sell your coins especially when there is bull run or when you see some significant price increase.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 17, 2023, 08:40:33 PM
Yes it is good to join bitcoin signal group because it will help you to trade and invest. I have been in a trading signal group and those experts in the group were given us information to go about anytime when the time of trading has come. The group was good, but not all the groups are good nto join there are some that are there to do the opposite. So be careful when joining them.

Lucky for you that you found a valuable trading group that you can say, worth it.
Nowadays, it is hard to find a crypto trading signal group that is worth your time and resources.
If you are not sure about the group, better watch and observe about the tips that they are sharing to the group.
You will know if the tips are legit if you can see that it is indeed happening in the market trade.
There may be lapses a lil bit, but there should be at least correct signal/s that you think are valid.
Knowing different scams are so rampant these days, I cannot advise anyone to join any signal group most especially for bitcoin since where there is big money is, then more scams are expected to arise. Although you may be lucky OP for having a reliable and legit one, but that’s not the case for most of the trading groups nowadays. It’s either you may take advantage, or you’ll be taken advantage by requesting you to pay first so be cautious not to join any signal group that you think is showing a red flag.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: July 14, 2023, 02:47:40 PM
That's a funny story but something serious at the same time. Lol. I haven't been in that kind of situation. I haven't been secretly gambling. My family knows I gamble once in a while. That's not really a big deal because I am not an addict gambler. I gamble just for fun. Although sometimes I lose a good deal of money, it isn't something that is intended for something else. So if a significant amount is lost, there's still food, bills are still paid, etc. No serious damage done.
It is very wrong when we are been forced to stop gambling. Gambling is something that we need to decide to stop if we really want to stop gambling but not someone telling us to stop gambling or threatening us in one way or the other to stop gambling.

It might sound wrong to you but there might be certain cases when it has to be done. In the story of OP's friend, I think it's just right and fair that the wife will have to do something drastic in order to make her husband understand how serious the situation is.

I agree with the wife's decision. At least she's giving her husband a chance. She could have just leave him. He has a family and he's been secretly wasting money on gambling. That shouldn't be condoned. That's a kind of irresponsibility that could destroy the entire family.

Indeed! It will be a much different scenario if you were the one who have to make a choice because your marriage is now on the line because of your gambling habit, that kind of situation can be avoided though if the OP's friend is mature enough to confess what he is doing because in marriage, it's all about transparency because surely you don't want the same thing to happen to you because your wife is having a secret without your knowledge. We never know but there is a huge chance that your wife will understand you and let you be you, it's just that the wife was overwhelmed about what she just knew.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 14, 2023, 11:51:07 AM
We already see it on Lakers series where they are been dominated on rebounding so maybe they can put some guy to possible solve the issue depends on the game flow. They can still use the small ball line up but as stated its good to have another alternative if their small ball line up will not work.
No, the Lakers getting outrebounded does not happen frequently, and it's not their main problem. If we recall their performance in the playoffs, they were dominant in the paint due to their size advantage. However, their main issue was their poor shooting from the outside, particularly from the 3-point line, during the playoffs.

Mostly in the playoffs but when they faced the Nuggets in the WCF, they almost lost to all factors and that became a reason why they've been swept by now the reigning champion in the league. Height wasn't really a factor inside the paint though, it's just that Anthony Davis cannot focus on his role and defend the paint because the guys outside the perimeter also needed some help as they weren't acting what needs to be done.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 13, 2023, 09:41:39 PM
Good point on Fulton being inactive, but I think he can overcome it though, sign of great boxers, so for sure he might have adjusted already.

On thing is that this is the first time that Inoue is going to 122 lbs, so that is only the big question whether he can cope with the weight or it's going to be a big plus for him as he will not have to weight drain just like in 118 lbs.

So let's see if Fulton will be the first one to give Inoue that big L on his record or Inoue continue on making history in boxing.

I wouldn't question Inoue's capacity. Even if he may not be as dominant as he was in the bantamweight division, I still believe that in a close fight, Inoue will come out on top. Judging from Fulton's past performances, I think Inoue's quickness will be able to counter his style. In the end, if the fight goes to the judges' scorecards, the boxer fighting in his home country will likely be given the win.

Yes, that is very likely but I wouldn't want to see Inoue winning in the hands of the judge's scorecards especially if the fight is close enough because it will not be a good image for him as people will just see that he was given a favor because the fight was contested on his country. But I'm kind of confident that it will not reach into the judge's decision, no offense to Fulton's fans, but just like you mate, I've also reviewed some of Fulton's fight and I can somehow say as well that Inoue's swiftness and power can do the trick,

I go with you. I also want to see a KO. Knowing how powerful Inoue was, I wonder if he will attract Fulton to engage, and they will have
a toe-to-toe confrontation

The chance of seeing Fulton kiss the floor is really possible; we just need that engagement, and we will enjoy this fight.

Nothing against Fulton, as he's the current champ, but if ever a confrontation or a toe-to-toe exchange of punches takes place,
The chance that we might see Fulton receive his first loss.

All will happen in the right time as long as Stephen Fulton is willing to engage and have a toe-to-toe confrontation with the former undisputed champion, Naoya Inoue. I know that the latter wanted that to happen because he missed that in his last fight because that was just a survival fight in the foe's part as they knew right from the start that they had no chance in winning against the monster.

And in this fight, let's hope that Fulton will give us the entertainment we wanted so that we can see a full packed fight before he leaves the division and climb the next weight class.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 13, 2023, 08:51:42 PM
I don't know if you are a baseball fan but nothing beat the time when Barry bonds, Mcguire and Sammy Sosa were hitting 500 foot shots every night lol.  Honestly it was fun to watch.  The problem is doping is a terrible thing to teach kids that it's "alright" first and foremost.  And the second is that even if this became a thing (which I'm assuming it's a joke) even then doping won't be the same for each person and advantages from one team over another will be present.  There is no way to make that the same level playing field.
It might be fun but it is definitely not fair for the team they were playing against because even if they do the same thing, it depends on how skilled a person is, for example, let's take soccer players and apply the same situation to them, if Cristiano Ronaldo uses pills to gain more energy and an ability boost, and his opponents also do the same, but we all know that Cristiano is basically way more skilled than them, so he will definitely outrun them all.

So that doesn't sound fair to me, also, the players who take pills to perform better won't have the same level of satisfaction that they could have if they have performed well without taking any pills or ability boosters. It's simply a different feeling when you do something with your own abilities only.

It will all boils down to who got the more skillset and who got the IQ to generate goals in such games where doping is allowed, we all know that almost everybody can enhance their power, speed, and strength but when it comes to IQ and skillset, they can no longer enhance that one because that requires a lot of practice and experience just to acquire it. Teams/players that just participated in the games just because of the fact cannot win anything because they are not ready nor born ready about it.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 13, 2023, 08:32:32 PM
I think gambling is very important part of crypto markets because it was one of pioneer businesses built itself on top of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It help crypto to create ecosystem you will get what I main. So Crypto casinos are important.
Other than that, gambling is something to be experienced and learned, not exactly something to be taught. Its mainly personal experience in my opinion. Its good if you try crypto gambling websites like stake.

I guess you could say that. Gambling is one of the ways to spread the news about the existence of cryptocurrency because we know that there are lots of people around the world who gambled in online casino whether if it's fiat based or crypto based and there are others as well that are gambling in physical casinos which require them to go in a certain place where these activities are held. In that instance, if some don't have the knowledge about the crypto's existence, they will soon ask somebody what it is or start researching about why it is used by many nowadays.

373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 13, 2023, 06:49:19 PM
Also, Eimantas Stanionis have been ordered by the WBA to be the mandatory challenger to the winner of Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford.

But isn't it there is a rematch clause between Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford? So I doubt that the mandatory fight can happen. Maybe the best thing is to elevate Eimantas Stanionis to full champion.

Yes, there is indeed a rematch clause between Crawford and Spence Jr.

The Crawford-Spence loser has 30 days from the night of their fight to exercise his contractual right to an immediate rematch.

That said, many boxers like Boots Ennis and Stanionis will be affected by this if ever the loser will activate the rematch clause within the 30 days limit because that will mean that they will have to wait again and probably have another fight to keep them warm to keep their rhythm intact.

Yes, the mandatory can't be exercise right away unless those body really impose their rule, but we all doubt that it can happen. We've seen a lot of this body giving special treatment to high profile fighters.

But it's good to see Boots Ennis winning this weekends and maybe him Stanionis can make it this year for Stanionis belt.

And then the winner will have to wait for the Spence and Crawford or at least after their rematch.

No need to wait for these bodies to impose something especially if it is about Crawford and Spence, mainly the latter. It wouldn't be the first time as well if they will give another special treatment because they were able to retain these belts for years now without fighting a mandatory that was not chosen by their camp.

A Stanionis-Ennis fight is an interesting one but I doubt that they will fight and waste their situation right now because they are both on the same line waiting for their turn as they are after a different belt.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 12, 2023, 10:06:11 PM
I know this is a joke. Elon can't fight Mark anyway. Because Mark has a really fit body and does sports regularly. On the other hand, Musk does not have a good body. Also, I've seen him smoke pot before on a radio show. Elon is more witty and smarter. But he doesn't stand a chance against Mark. I think he knows that too. That's why he's only bringing this up as a joke. I don't think they will ever fight. But this issue will probably continue to be on the agenda for a while in the world of magazines.
I have a different opinion that Elon Musk has a better chance of this actually happening.
From his body shape, I'm sure Elon musk has greater strength than Mark, even though Elon musk has never smoked, but for this match, not only health but physical strength is also very influential.
Another thing that I can predict if this match actually happens I think Mark will not be able to beat Elon musk with a smaller body.
No you are not that different because I see there's also a few users who have voted for Elon Musk and you all have the same impression. The first thing that you guys have noticed is the physical appearance of the contenders. It's already in our psychology that a big person do already has a bigger strength although sometimes this isn't true and there's also small guys out there who have more strength because they work out or have been involved in a strenuous activity.

Another factor we are looking to is the age. it is when the person is young we think they are more stronger but again this is sometimes wrong. The older age person usually have more experience so they are superior than the younger person.

Ok but what you are describing is going down to the actual state of the body no matter what the age is. If someone works out five times a week and takes lessons in martial arts two times a week, that person is probably kicking the ass of everyone who is a couch potato even when there are twenty years of age between the two people. If you only look at the weight and height I think that Musk has an advantage and we don't know for certain whether he is working out or not and whether he has taken any martial arts lessons recently. These special cases don't fit into the normal comparison category of course. But all things equal in terms of training and fitness, height and weight are both an important factor.

Well, if we will bet for a fight between a man who took some lessons in martial arts and trained for at least five times a week vs a man that is couch potato but let's say that the latter is 20 years younger, I'd say 25 years old. Do you honestly think that the latter have a chance of defeating the 45 years old who trained in martial arts? Obviously, the answer will be no. The couch potato would be knocked down within a single round and that is for sure.

But since this fight is about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, let me give you some facts about their background:

Elon Musk: Trained in martial arts since he was 6 years old up until now, specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is also black belter.
Mark Zuckerberg: Trained and studied martial arts since 2020 and have won two medals in a tournament just recently.

There are different sources stating different things about Zuckerberg and Musk. What you just wrote is quite the opposite of some of the things that I have read over the last two weeks or so.

I read that Musk did take martial arts lessons, but that is many years ago when he last took the training seriously. Obviously, I can't verify what is true. There current fitness conditions are of course important and now that Zuckerberg posted a foto of himself with MA fighters, he is in great shape. I can't tell whether Musk is able to go a second round without collapsing from breathing problems or whether he is really in a good shape right now.

But it is funny that Zuckerberg now came out with a foto showing his body. Could this really take place?

That is the question that everyone is waiting for because I definitely want this fight to materialize because other than it's funny to watch, it is also interesting enough as it offers a different scenery because they are both billionaires and it's a fight that people did not see for centuries.

As for the question of who is more fit between the two of them, I can't say who got the upper hand on that because we cannot really trust everything that we read in some news article as sometimes, what they are saying is not a fact and they are just making the fire to grew bigger. I think it's best to say that Musk got his own talent because he is the one who pursued this fight and not Mark, I don't think that he's that dumb to embarrass himself when in fact he doesn't have any abilities at all.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 12, 2023, 09:20:24 PM
Wemby is gonna take the break in the NBA summer league and will now focus on the upcoming season. This is as per the decision of his team, Spurs.

Spurs decide that Victor Wembanyama’s Summer League is over after two games

I guess this is all part of the grooming plan and he had shown enough for the summer league. The preparation for the upcoming season should be prioritized then.
Not a bad performance for his debut in the league and I think that Spurs will give him some workouts to do for improvement. He's agile, and has passing ability, overall I'd say he's definitely great but having a skinny body in his actual regular season debut will surely not dominate if he goes head-to-head with some plumber guys on the court. Can't wait for this phenomenal kid to make some storm.
That's to be expected.

They'll give him some programs and exercises that will buff his physical body and to have more build up for his muscles. They say that he's like really KD.

So, preserving him now by the team to make it sure that he'll be in good shape. I want to see how they'll face each other with Chet. LOL just a thought.

And some are saying and actually hoping that he might be like Giannis, who is so thin we he got drafted but after a few years, he was getting some improvement and not just by his skills but his body frame did get some buff which makes him more unstoppable in the court as he can always transition from being a forward to a center if it's badly needed.

Hopefully, that will be Wemby's body frame too because judging from his talent and IQ level inside the court, he will hard to stop if he will have a much bigger frame especially with that kid of height. Being KD is good too but we all know what is the difference though.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin pumping when the economy is heading into a recession? on: July 11, 2023, 09:55:25 PM
Forgive my ignorance, I am very new to this space. I saw talks about CBDCs and that drew my attention back to cryptocurrencies. I thought the last bull run would be the last we would have seen of bitcoin ever reaching those heights so I stopped looking at the crypto space ever since. But now we have discussions about dethroning the dollar and CBDCs, I am changing my mind about that, but I still find it fascinating that bitcoin is pumping in this economy right now. I am no means an expert in economics as you can clearly tell, would appreciate if anyone who had the knowledge could shed some light here. Always keen to learn. Thanks
This is the sign that bitcoin halving is already on its way. Know that halving will put bitcoin into its best version of it so what we see and experience now is actually its good effect. And the current recession cannot even stop bitcoin from pumping as bitcoin has never been backed and supported by the government. So whatever the fate of fiat and our economy, bitcoin will always have a different path to take.
377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 11, 2023, 09:24:33 PM
Crypto maybe good or bad, useful or futile, it depends actually on how you will perform crypto in your life. Some have been successful because they follow the potentials of crypto as an investment and take risk in investing, while others have been regretting because of missed opportunities and losses, simply because they use crypto the wrong way and they deal crypto with greed and high emotions, things that will ruin the essence and purpose of crypto.
378  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A opinion on regrets on: July 11, 2023, 08:53:18 PM
We regret about missing Bitcoin, then about XRP then about Ethereum then Doge then Shiba then Pepe (these are some top of my head and from what I've come across in my crypto term).

Point being there are always new opportunities and dwelling on regrets is futile.

In all phases in life, regretting is always insignificant and useless. That will not change anything but the fact that you are in a loss situation. However, you can’t change the past but you can always mold your future. So learn to let go and move forward by taking the risk now and investing into bitcoin. Your life will definitely be a lot different when you have bitcoin in your life compared to when you have nothing at all.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: risk nothing, you're risking more on: July 11, 2023, 08:30:31 PM
Welcome to the forum! It appears that this is your first post here, and it's great to see that you've already learned from your past mistakes. There's nothing wrong with that because you're in the right place to grow. Instead of dwelling on what you've done in the past, focus on the lessons you've learned. Remember, regret won't change your past, but you have the power to shape your future.

Taking risks is essential if you want to achieve success. Bitcoin, being a highly volatile cryptocurrency, requires patience to profit from it. The good news is that it's not too late, as Bitcoin is currently in an accumulation zone. By staying patient and making informed decisions, you can still benefit from this opportunity.
You’re right. In bitcoin, there’s no late or early, you are just in the perfect timing to dwell with bitcoin and maximize its accumulation. Especially that bitcoin halving is near approaching, so it’s not the time to regret anymore, hence take the risk and move forward. What’s important is that you have learned your lesson in the past, and you won’t let yourself miss another opportunity from bitcoin. Otherwise, you’ll never have the opportunity anymore that will bring life changing experience for you and to your whole family.
380  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 10, 2023, 09:56:22 PM
Luxury watches at the top end of the market can be considered as an alternative form of investment. While I don't possess extensive knowledge about watches, my understanding from available information suggests that reselling them can yield a substantial profit. The return on investment for luxury watches tends to be quite satisfactory. Prominent examples of such watches include Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Audemars Piguet, some of which have a waitlist spanning two years. Most of these watches tend to appreciate in value.

However, the worth attributed to an item is typically influenced by its demand and supply. While I believe that owning one or two high-end watches, provided they are well-maintained, may outperform stocks, gold, and real estate, it's worth noting that their appeal may diminish over time. This is because future generations are increasingly gravitating towards other interests, such as bitcoin and other emerging trends. If given the choice, would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin, digital assets, gold, stocks, or real estate?
Owning any luxury items are still a form of good investment but it needs a lot of capital so you can start with it. And I don't think I can afford it for now. I would rather take part in Bitcoin investing and save my hard-earned money for now so I can invest a portion of it in the future. Bitcoin investment is way more promising as long as you are investing at the right time and store your Bitcoin at a secured wallet.
