1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul v Hasim Rahman Jr / Amanda Serrano V Brenda Carabaja co-main event Aug on: July 29, 2022, 07:01:42 PM
Honestly, I'm a bit interested to this rematch because McGregor surely had some improvements and changes after their first encounter and this time he knows how and when to conserve his energy to last longer rounds.
Maybe you are right about that, though that is still undecided that McGregor will be a lot better this time because their first encounter was almost 5 years already and McGregor fought some foes too afterward in the octagon. Many thought that their fight last 2017 was just a one-time thing but it seems that they will revive that again to have a rematch, and honestly, it's still got me interested because Mayweather said that he's willing to put his professional career on the line.

The Golden State Warriors have shown some interest in picking up Carmelo Anthony for next season. I’m not sure how well he would fit in, but I’m sure he could do some damage off the bench. I’m thinking it would probably be his last chance to win a championship, so it wouldn’t be a bad option for him. I’d wait to see if Kyrie gets traded to the Lakers and see if I could run that back before anything else though.

I think he's a good fit for the GSW coming off the bench. He could definitely do some damage as most of the guys in GSW can shoot everywhere and that gives him the advantage to find an open space where he can shoot uncontested.
I'd definitely love to see him win a championship before he retires. I know he'll have a better chance of winning a championship if joins the Warriors than the rest of his career from different teams.
Coming off the bench? yeah, I think it will be good, but him in the starting five, I doubt that he will fit on that rotation.

Maybe the Warriors thinks he can give 10-15 points solid in any given night. So let's see if the Warriors will give him another chance. Who knows, it could click and perhaps Carmelo Anthony will win his first ring before retiring.

Well, I'm quite sure that he won't be a part of the starting five and it is quite obvious why. The GSW has already established their attacks and the defensive maneuvers they will have to do in any team they face that's why I don't think that they will just add Carmelo on that rotation. He will be good at bench producing nice figures every night and it's much better to give him more exposures as a substitute player because he's already proven to produce numbers.

He will not as he is already a bench player so for sure in GSW he's role will be at the bench. This is good addition since they could use the shooting ability of Melo and fit up on their system. Lets just see if he will get more good exposure in GSW since if he produce good numbers maybe he will also get a ring on this team.

The chances of Carmelo getting a championship ring is somehow bigger if he will be in the Warriors than he is at the Lakers, I mean, the Lakers roster is decent but not good enough compared to the Warriors who have a big chance to win back-to-back championship this coming season 22-23 because the Lakers are still rebuilding the team after what happened to them recently, you know what I mean.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: July 29, 2022, 12:21:48 PM
Yes, of course, GGG is still trying to achieve another success and a win here will be a big success for him, maybe he can consider retiring after that as he will have a sweet retirement coming from a big win. However, if money will be considered, then he will again give Canelo another fight and that would make the fans happy either.

GGG vs Canelo 4?

I posted about this possibility a few weeks ago. But that will only happen in case Golovkin wins this time. If Canelo wins, then there is no chance for another fight, as he can claim that this time he won without any controversy. But even if he loses, I think that Golovkin will continue with his fights. He can easily go on for another 3-4 years before he retires.

Obviously, a loss of GGG here will mean that the rivalry is over and GGG will likely consider retiring as well because he is not getting any younger. However, let us not think of that for now, let's see the outcome of this fight and hopefully GGG will have more fights to come after this.

The poll shows that users here mostly sides with GGG, not because they pity him but because GGG can still give a hard time and make Canelo struggle despite of his age now. I'm quite sure about that though because judging GGG's performance against Murata recently, he can still dance well and can still give tough punches.
A GGG-Canelo 4 is quite premature for now, let's see first if what this trilogy could bring to us.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 28, 2022, 09:50:10 PM
~snip~

But for me, since they are currently the no. 1 and 2 at the Welterweight division right now, I'm expecting that they won't just play defense all throughout and care for the points per round. I want to see them challenging each other in close combat while saying "I'm the strongest!".

If I were Spence or Crawford I would be more cautious and tighten up my defensive stance knowing that I am fighting an elite fighter that would send me to sleep anytime he caught me off guard.
I am also one of the many people who's looking forward for this match as an all out war. A toe to toe fight between these two would be epic. However, just like I said, both of them might be cautious as they knew what each of them are capable of.
I'm certain that they surely do know about that fact, they will train harder while viewing recent fight tapes that could help them about each other's movements. It's just it seems that Spence Jr. is somehow afraid to fight the current Crawford because he's playing a chase game while hiding from the reasons that they are on the talks now. Crawford revealed in his recent interview that both camps haven't established some details yet regarding the fight. I sure do hope that this bout will happen in October and that they aren't just taking us for a ride.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 28, 2022, 09:33:37 PM
I don't think banning gambling can be something that is possible,  the government benefit from tax they receive from gambling companies. It will be a difficult decision for government to think of to ban gambling instead they may try to restrict the rate at which gambling activity is been done.
Banning gambling wont be much of a difficult decision to consider by the government should it be a thing that is harming its citizens for which, I am not sure gambling is exactly doing that. It goes beyond what revenue the government might be generating off gambling becuase, they could also do that from legalising drugs but the effects on citizens is what becomes of great concern and gambling isn't exactly tha harmful. You've just got to gamble responsibly and you've got little reason to worry.

The issue is, should banning going be an issue, just how can you actualise that?
Infact, you'll end up creating more issues as, people would gamble indiscriminately between themselves and with no proper authority to measure fir fairness and ensure regulations, it would result in chaos.

Banning gambling is just like banning alcohol and tobacco which the government cannot possibly stop its citizens even though it is prohibited because the people will and always find their way to keep their vices like drinking and smoking. Nonetheless, the action of banning gambling will be a senseless because that won't stop the people from gambling either, it's much better to make advantage of these industries to get revenues and taxes so that the resources will not be wasted.

Hotshots could end NLEX but I'm not sure if Meralco will beat the Ginebra, for sure Ginebra will try to even the series, it won't be an easy game by the Meralco.

Hotshots is the hottest team now, they are in a winning streak, so I don't think with the NLEX lack of defense they can beat the Hotshots tomorrow. NLEX has a bad matchup here, if only they played the TNT, they would have a good chance but against Magnolia, I think they can't win.

Another blowout win by Magnolia, that's my expectation.

When I saw your post headline, my mind quickly goes to titles here at Bitcointalks. Titles such as Legendary, Hero Members, etc. To me, that's the easiest title that can fool a Newbie here in this forum because those titles are not easy to get, and sometimes it can equate trust to some extent.

That was actually my thought when I read the title. But after I read through the body, I understood the angle Op is coming from.
Evenn in the forum, we shouldn't be deceived by titles also, this is because some Hero and Legendary accounts are sold and giving to people who are relatively new to the forum.

Regarding, scammers with title. You dare not trust anyone that Dm first for a business or investment.
Infact, treat any stranger online as a scammer until proven otherwise.
As long as you don’t know that person personally, you don’t have to comprehend to whatever favor he’ll ask. The fact that it’s all for money matters, then everything will be done with high caution. Don’t be deceived just to please everyone in high position, after all we are doing individual investments here and that we always try to make profits on our own. If ever there are red flags in the start, then you should be quick to deny the offer or decline the favor.

Paul Lee exploded here with 22 points, glad to see him back with his usual number.

He needed that for the coming playoffs, Paul being healthy is very dangerous, but hopefully, the teamwork is still present and they will not only rely on Paul Lee. I still love the numbers on their previous game where many of them scored a double-digit, that's real teamwork in a team.

Congratulations to the winners, all betting favorites covered the spread.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving haven't left the team yet but they are likely to do so this summer. I don't know if Nets really need a big change in their roster now. However they weren't successful in the previous season too. Irving missed many games though but they still struggled when he was back. Both of these players aren't eager to stay longer according to some news sources. Honestly I would like to watch Kevin Durant at Suns or Heat. I think the same for Irving at Lakers beside Lebron.

The drama is still continuing with KD as whether he will be traded or stay in the Nets for at least this season if there is no viable team for him. Yes, we've heard that he is interested with Phoenix and now the Heat, but we shall see.

There's no way they're staying with the Nets as they already showed lack of interest to continue playing with that team. The Nets might be in a huge discussions now on how they can rebuild their team coz this is gonna be a very rare opportunity to demand all they can because they have 2 of the most high valued player in the league. It's gonna be a huge regret if they take the wrong trade.
I am already expecting before the season starts, Kyrie and Durant will both be out of the Nets.

Of course, the Nets will find a way to trade them but they will also get the value they wanted in a trade, if not, they will allow Durant and Irving to play because that is their job, and if they will not play hard, well, you know what the organization would say and they might have a problem with the team. I believe the management could suspend them and will not pay them on the games they don't play.
1071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 22, 2022, 02:55:05 AM
I will speculate that Lara will be elevated to the regular champion status by WBA. And if GGG is ready maybe next year then he can fight Lara but not right after his Canelo fight. He needs to take a break as well as you have said. If WBA is not keen on that, then Lara as champion will have his mandatory against the top fighters in the WBA ranking. And I think the IBF/IBO might be willing to give GGG more leeway as compare to WBA so he might retain that title after the fight.

Even if Golovkin wins against Canelo, I don't think that he should fight against Lara. From what kasabus posted, Golovkin will earn in the vicinity of $35 million from the trilogy fight against Canelo. A match against Lara would net him a tiny fraction of that amount. So I don't see any point in agreeing to a bout against Lara. Irrespective of whether he wins or loses against Canelo, Golovkin will be able to attract much better opponents. And a boxer who is very close to retirement doesn't care much about any of the belts.

If he will win, the call for another rematch might take place and that will bring them more money.

I see your point, the call for Lara is not that important and with his age he might rather to pick fight/s that will bring him
more and lesser with interest with another belt.

Though we don't know what is inside his mind right after the fight, but at this moment, for sure he's more on winning
the fight against Alvarez.

That would definitely what would happen as both fighters have nothing to prove anymore, they already won championships but the opportunity to earn a decent income from a fight does not come all the time, fans would be more eager to watch the next fight if GGG will win this fight.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: July 21, 2022, 02:28:44 PM
That is if the people who threw speculations can really find some solid proof to report that there is indeed cheating exist in that specific match or game. Other than that, it is really easy to say that there is cheating especially if you we on the losing side but in reality there wasn't. Might as well prove a point when we throw some accusations but if we cannot then I don't think that it will be worth it to waste some time.
However, it will not be easy for them to report it to the authorities because there is a possibility that the authorities are also involved in the fraud. We as spectators will not be able or even have difficulty gathering the evidence and even the person making the speculation may also have difficulty because there is a possibility that he will be made to keep his mouth shut and pretend he doesn't know anything.
That's the problem, it will be easier for them to rig the sports if the authorities are also involved, there are rumors before I read about a certain league that is fixed, and according to the story, the authorities or the management are the ones directing the referees to make a call and make sure the outcome they want is going to happen.

We have Phoniex vs Ginebra today.

I believe Wright is not available, so do you think that Phoenix will have a chance of winning this game, or at least cover the handicap?
This game will start soon, so guys, good luck!

Yes, no Matthew Wright because he is out of the country, so it's a big task for the Phoenix to upset a good team like Ginebra. As expected, it's Ginebra who are taking the lead as they are dominating early, and since they are a good 2nd half team, I already expect that they will have a big win here.

Yup, uphill climb for Phoenix to upset Ginebra in this game but i just hope this will be a close game to cover the spread for the Phoenix side lol, a 9-point win for Ginebra is okay for me.
So what was the point spread in this game? is it Phoenix +9.5?
Well, looks like you predicted it right, the 1st half is over but the score is very close, it's 47-45, Ginebra with 2 points lead only.

BTW, whatever the outcome of this game Ginebra will be locked at the number 4 or 5 spot wherein they face Meralco in the quarters and SMB in the semis so yeah this is an exciting playoff run for the Kings this series as they will be facing a highly motivated SMB whose mission is to take the AFC crown from them.

Meralco could win the match, they beat the SMB last time IIRC, and they are a championship contender as well.
But I'm sure they will be the underdog against Ginebra.

So win or lose, I doubt that GGG will be force somewhat to fight his mandatory or whatever they call it to have one champion. The focus for him right now is Canelo and that's what he is going to concentrate whatever WBA orders him, it doesn't matter for now.

It's a rivalry that he is really eager to win. There's nothing else that is important for him aside from taking down

Canelo and prove that he really deserves the win, a personal matter he is not after to whoever
the organization is requiring him.

It's a must fight for GGG and since both camps are ready now and they are really hyping these upcoming trilogy.

It's already hype, both will enjoy a decent payday in this fight as PPV will surely hit a decent number. People are anticipating for this fight, and now that it's already announce, they will surely pay for the PPV and some would go to the arena to witness it in person.

Based on the previous fight, here's the figure.

Quote
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Alvarez would earn an official purse of $5 million and Golovkin was to make a $4 million purse. It was reported with profits of the PPV, Alvarez would potentially earn around $40 million and Golovkin could earn $30 million.[50]

source

So now we have an idea how much they will make, and since it's a trilogy, I expect that it will earn a bigger amount compared to the last fight.

I will go with ROS 8.5 @1.87

Bad bet, looks like ROS is not into the game, they lost by a huge margin to the Magnolia Hotshots.

118-87, Magnolia well covered the spread here.
Congrats to those who pick the heavy favorite, it was -7.5 I believe.

You joined the forum earlier today and are already telling others what Bitcoin is.
You would benefit more from the forum, if you read and learn from the wealth of information available here. Feel free to ask questions when you get confused and previous discussions don't cover that topic or question.
Most of the time, the answers to some questions are also found in the forum and you will most likely to discover it if you keep your patience in reading and learning at the same time. Although this discussion has been repeated a lot of times, but it always gives a certain answer too. Bitcoin remains the leading crypto in the world because there are no other coins that can closely compete with the high potentials of bitcoin. And as faith of the people arise, trusting bitcoin knowing its the best and safest crypto investment has now become the trend.
1078  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The right time to invest on: July 19, 2022, 08:25:45 PM
As a newbie one finds it difficult to know the right time to invest. I really want to know if I can actually invest into Bitcoin at this moment.
Bitcoin is a very good investment right now as its price has become very affordable for all of us. So yes, this is the perfect time to invest in bitcoin. However, investing in bitcoin is always good regardless of the price, because we all know that bitcoin price will keep moving forward provided that there will also positive events that could trigger the market to continuously move upward. But always learn to invest on the amount you can afford to lose. Either you do it doing DCA, or the other way round, but never spend all your hard-earned money just for bitcoin alone as this is also known to be a very risky investment. Yes, you could make a fortune out from long term hodling with bitcoin, but you could also lose everything just by a single unplanned wrong move.
1079  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have we reached a bottom price for BTC? on: July 19, 2022, 07:45:51 PM
Bitcoin seems to be struggling to get past $20k - $21k over the past days. There's a possibility it could go further down the drain due to the worsening of the global economy. Some say BTC will go all the way down to $15k within a matter of months, while others say BTC will be worth less than $10k soon. The market is extremely unpredictable right now, so it's hard to tell if BTC has reached the bottom, or if there's still room for a further downtrend in price. I'd be surprised if BTC continues to fall down in price all the way to $8k and below. Our only hope would be the next BTC halving and a swift recovery of the global economy.

What do you think? Has BTC reached the bottom? Will you buy more regardless of BTC's current market price? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
Bitcoin starts to recover now and is now close to $24k price. I just hope everything at the present won't just end up in bull trap. Because if ever, then we will witness again bitcoin price declining and will hit another bottom price. Unfortunately, we can't tell if its the bottom price or not because bitcoin moves more unpredictable as it is. However, if we think of buying bitcoin, its best to buy when the price is highly discounted, not today that its price is quite surging. But knowing bitcoin, regardless of its current value, it will always grow along with time so buying at the current price is still good.
1080  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You have not lost a dime if your Bitcoin is in your wallet on: July 18, 2022, 11:12:21 PM
I think only a fool will sell under the price where it was bought.
Hold and set a target price range to take profit, that's how Bitcoin stores the value, we should patiently wait for it even though we didn't know the time frame of a selling point which for sure the Bitcoin price will increase and surpass its ATH.

At least, you are holding the amount that you can afford and willing to wait.  It's a matter of time before you'll see your profit.
If you cannot endure the price volatility of bitcoin in the first place, then don't bother to invest. Bitcoin will never have a fixed value and its price changes too more often due to some positive and negative news that happened globally. If you can hold patiently while wating for the perfect price to sell, that way your bitcoin will always be safe and you won't deal with real losses.
