1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 26, 2022, 04:48:51 PM
One sure thing for GGG to win is to knock out Canelo but Canelo is a tough guy so it is really a hard task.

That's obviously hard, that's the reason why he is a heavy underdog, and we know that once this fight goes to the judges' scorecards, Canelo will likely win and that would result to ending their rivalry as no way they'll fight again, the only way they could fight is if GGG will upset Canelo.

That is quite ugly if that will happen again but I think we cannot even prevent that thing from happening because Canelo or anyone in his camp that is pulling some strings would also find his way to get their connections so that Canelo will have the higher hand when it comes to the judge's decision. It's true that GGG needs to defeat Canelo by a way of TKO/KO so that he can prevent the judges from helping the latter but that's a tough job to pull especially now that he is not that fast anymore compared to their first 2 fights.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 26, 2022, 06:05:18 AM
It is not surprising because when a boxer is replaced at the last moment, all the training and preparation of the other boxer is wasted.  They (Figueroa) prepare a strategy against Broner but instead got Lipinet at the last moment.  If you remember the last fight of Paquiao the same thing happen, his camp prepare for the fighter replaced by Ugas but got Ugas at the last minute so Pacquiao have trouble adjusting during the fight and lost.
No one expected indeed if Sergey Lipinets could win the fight, no better than from Broner made me doubt if Sergey Lipinets would be able to throw Omar to the floor, especially when I saw the boxing history of Sergey Lipinets who just lost to Jaron Ennis in 2021 but he was able to show great fight yesterday, what you said seems to be true, because while during Omar focused more on anticipating the fighting style and also the weaknesses of Broner, but in the end what he learned before the fight started was in vain after Broner retreated and I think every fighter has different fighting styles and weaknesses as well as Broner and Sergey Lipinets.

Yes, all that month of preparation and training while studying Broner's movements in the ring was all wasted because Broner suddenly backed out from the fight and Lipinets was inserted to be the boxer to fight against Omar. So of course, that became a huge factore why Omar defeated because he didn't expected that and he didn't manage to watch Lipinets clips. If only Broner did fight, I'm quite sure that Omar has won. What do you think?

Possible, but if I'm not mistaken, Broner is also the favorite on that fight per odds so it could be a good battle.

As for the Ancajas vs Ioka supposedly fight, yes it was postponed initial due to Japan's Covid-19 restrictions, similar to GGG vs Murata, but it was rescheduled later. As opposed to maybe the camp of Ancajas, wanted Jerwin  to fight so they move to the US to look for opponents. Unfortunately, all the plans back fire on MP promotions as replacement fighter beat Jerwin so bad

Right? That could be a good match to bet though because Broner favorite among sports bookies because I believe that Omar Figueroa has more chances of winning the fight than the Broner who fights like he is doing some exhibition fights. Anyway, haven't had the chance to follow this fight but it's good thing too because the fight between these two didn't happen because Broner withdrew and it was Lipinets who fought Omar.

Quote

That's the disadvantage of rushing things because having a replacement with only little time of preparation will indeed make you struggle and will just lower the chances of winning and then there's this weight issues of Ancajas that he had to solve. Bottomline, they should solve their own problems first before solving other problems.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 25, 2022, 06:58:32 AM
Supporting him is what the team needed to encourage him to continue working with his weight. That particular issue might bring problems with him, but the determination to win back and recover his belt should be a must. Ancajas needs to adjust and exceed from his limitations to take this rematch. He's a known fighter, and he needs to work it out. By any means, he needs to be there and try to beat Martinez with all the collective strategy that his camp collects and executes.

I watched the first fight and I believe Ancajas can take the punches of Martinez but he is a bit slow both in throwing punches and reflexes that is why he was dominated by Martinez.  In upclose fight, the one with shorter reach has the advantage because he can fully swing his punches while the one with a larger wingspan needs more time to swing his punches due to the bigger radius.  Ancajas must take advantage of his height and reach this time.  He must train throwing jobs and straight and move more than engaging in a brawl.

If Ancajas has problem with meeting the weight limit in his current division, I think he must move up.

I echo the same statement with you mate, if Ancajas was really struggling to meet that required weight just like what his camp admitted then I think it's really time for Ancajas to move up in bantamweight after this fight but the challenge if he climb will be much more difficult as boxers in that division as well as the champions is not easy to defeat.

For that, Ancajas must prove that he is suited in this division and defeat Martinez. He have the tools needed and he can also withstand the heavy punches that Martinez is giving.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 25, 2022, 06:12:31 AM
I don't think that he will play defensive in the 3rd fight. He already saw his mistakes specially in the first fight wherein he allow Canelo to control the championship rounds (of course the judges as well have something to do with him losing).
Perhaps GGG will be very aggressive and he should take advantage of Canelo being a slow starter. But he should be cautious as well in the latter rounds as this is where Canelo usually score points. GGG needs to be consistent for full 12 rounds and not allow Canelo to be comfortable.
The problem is I don't think being aggressive from the start is the nature of GGG and probably it could be a problem if he tries that. But if he also takes too much time to set the pace, Canelo is going to try to take advantage of that as well because he scores points often in the later part. So, GGG will have to approach with caution. He can be aggressive but he will have to be careful so that he does not get too aggressive and let his guard down. Because he can get countered and knocked onto the canvas.

Both of them starts slow and they know how risky it is to be aggressive in the early rounds without feeling each other as it could be an expensive mistake that both boxers cannot afford in the early rounds of the fight. We know that Canelo doesn't start aggressively too as well as GGG, they want to read the movements first and test the waters before going to a all-out war. They know the game for sure because they have fought twice already and it's better to be calm rather than go aggressively just to pin a score.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 24, 2022, 07:01:12 PM

It looks like Kevin Durant stays in Brooklyn. I don't think he can give his %100 to this team as he wants Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks to leave but they are also staying.

That's not fair to the organization, why would he do that? I mean, he is paid with big money, so being a professional, he just have to do his job and deliver the expectation of the management. Although I believe there are some conflicts already in the organization, but I don't think Durant would result to purposely not giving his all just to pissed the management.

Neither any of us here in this forum nor the owner of the Nets, Joe Tsai, could answer that question but one thing is clear and that is Durant is already over his head because of his capabilities. He somehow forgot that it's the Nets who granted him the contract he needed to keep playing in the NBA and the right money that he wanted and now he wanted to be traded just like that?

But the latest update now that the Nets have come with an agreement for Durant to stay in the team because the training camp is almost starting too and there's no any team in the league right now who can match the Nets demand to get free Durant. For now, he'll staying but I don't know how would Durant perform after these issues he made.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 24, 2022, 06:35:21 PM
Haney doesn't need to change his style though because that's his forte and it might be too late if he turns into an aggressive fighter from a defensive kind of boxer, he already reached far enough because of that style and became the youngest undisputed boxer in history of four-belt era.
Well if I were Haney, I will be worried if I wanted to become a huge PPV superstar like Canelo. Haney's style and zero knockouts since becoming a real champion have a limited market. But he and his team know this because they tried to fight dirty and brawled against Linares and Jojo.

That's for sure but I think his camp is not that concerned because Haney is now the undisputed boxer, so money will eventually chase him as many fighters will try to dethrone him from being an undisputed boxer. But yea, PPV wise he ain't gonna make it and he gonna need his opponent to sell the fight to attract viewers.

Money wise he needs to work it out to bring more audiences but I guess his camp will not adjust as they are already succeeding from how they fought and as long as they holding the belt challengers will chase them and it will be defending from the handlers and promoters to bring fans to watch the fight, even if it's a known boring type of fight but if a type of challenger will be more aggressive, maybe or it will magnet fans to chase for Haney.

There are still fans and gamblers who wanted to see another fighter to bring something and possible to disappoint the champion

we never know, basing from experienced there are so many upset from this sport.

Haney's camp is just thankful that their cash cow is a champion in the boxing industry because if not, Haney won't get any attention at all because of his style in the ring as the people will really find it boring to watch. But now that Haney is undisputed, he will be chased by any boxer that wants his belts especially now that there's a hype gathering around that Haney will likely fight Loma next.

Good initiative. I don't have this kind of opportunity to lecture about cryptocurrency in my country since it's prohibited to use here. But I had tried to introduce this forum to my nearest persons. But sadly they don't spend time here nor much interest. Everyone just looks for money which is impossible from here for a beginner. This forum isn't for earning purposes, here we can learn.

Anyway good to see you have chances to share about the forum and cryptocurrency publicly. The next generation should know about cryptocurrency very well.
This bitcointalk forum is not just an ordinary forum where people mostly interact, but it’s more of an avenue of building knowledge and developing skills because of the valuable information we gained from it. Thus, it needs to be more spread so that a lot of people will benefit from it. I’m glad OP you take the effort to let the people around you be aware of it.

Jesus christ, 50 million a year give or take, which I am sure is still good money for Lebron even though he must worth like a billion already, maybe more. I am guessing that he will definitely pick up the player option, but it all depends on where his kid will go. I guess Bronny looks as solid as it gets for a candidate, both a legacy which is like the biggest we can think, but also a solid top 60 draft pick for sure even without the dad (well he wouldn't be this good without his dad lol). So all in all, I am guessing that if Lakers gets Bronny then Lebron stays, if not then Lebron may leave to wherever drafts Bronny for sure.

Looks like LeBron will most likely retire a Laker on that contract. The extension also makes him the new highest paid career earner in NBA history, passing Kevin Durant. In another two years I’m not sure if LeBron will still be able to be healthy and play at a high level, but he’ll probably have the option to sign another deal if he wants to. I’m sure LeBron is celebrating tonight…

That's a huge amount of money, that will increase his wealth being one of the richest NBA players in the world. Well, he deserved that because he is the king, may not be the best player in the NBA now but his leadership is very effective as long as he is healthy and can play.

Not just in the NBA but in the world of sports, he will be one of the richest, others might not agree with the huge contract he got, but I guess the Lakers wanted to keep Lebron and the management believed in him that perhaps another ring will be in the horizon for them. It's that last year was really a disaster as they expecting a good season but it turn out to be their worst. We haven't seen Lebron getting worst ankle injuries or like a torn ACL and I think it's more of his body really adapting to the grueling NBA games throughout his careers.

That is because Lebron is smart enough to invest back the money he earned in NBA back in his body, in fact it was discussed before that he spent millions of dollars annually just to get his body fit even though he's slowly growing old by daily basis. So, that's why we haven't seen him getting bad injuries that could potentially cost him a year of rest just like the other players in the league. That said, I think Lebron is the richest active athlete who earned over $1 Billion.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 19, 2022, 03:30:00 PM
At certain age, if you yourself will know its time. Its not like other career that doesn't need agility of your youth.  Your skills doesn't depend on how fast you chop the spices but how good the taste of the recipe.

For us speculators, it's easy to say that they should just retire. We can't feel their desire to continue.

I agree, for us it's easy to judge the boxers base on their performance and say that they should retire because they have been beaten very badly that they can't retire. But, the next day, those fighters will have a different mindset and want to comeback strong.

As for me, we should just let them do what they want. If at some point they experienced terrible losses and they feel their body is not cooperating now, they will retire right away without any hesitations. And even for let's say they want to continue, the promoters or organizers might not be interested now to form a fight and that will lead that old boxer to consider retiring and call it a career.

And so they will go on with their careers, not just for fighters that is about to retire, but again, as I have said, those who for example have been knockout or lost in the card and was dominated. And so they want to proved something to their fans and critics that they can still fight after this circumstances and will come back very strong and maybe avenge their defeat.

And that is the spirit of a true warrior because a warrior won't just give up after the loss he experienced, instead he takes that loss as to be more determined in the next fights and will be a reminder for him not to taste that bitter taste again. For Donaire, he believes that he can still make some diference in lower weight that's why he chose to not to retire. Let the man do what he wants, we will see it soon if his decisions will be worth it.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: August 18, 2022, 04:44:41 PM
Gambling sites are a special type of business. Every business principle is to do several tips to attract customers. New gamblers will always be attracted if gambling sites offer deposit bonuses and various occasional cash bonuses. Handet Person Deposit Bonus to be offered to new joiners. Withdrawal system to be introduced without KYC. A gambling site needs to increase its trustworthiness rating points so that new gamblers will be attracted to that site.

Trust and perks are the common factors why gamblers will bring their money inside a casino, if they feel that they can entrust their money they will keep sending and enjoying the platform, and with additional offers including those bonuses they will bring more and possibilities that they will recommend the site to their friends.

It's a business that needed to attract interest with offers that will really impress new and old users.

Not easy though, but if the owners are keen to succeed, they will use every platform to bring new and old users to keep coming back.

Sacrifice is a must in these kinds of businesses because you cannot attract gamblers to play on your platform if you're not willing to give what they want to get them tempted, bonuses and cashback or some offers will do the trick to get more gamblers playing in your platform and of course consistency so that they will remain to play and won't bother looking for other platforms that will attract them more.

A business needs starting capital and bonuses and promotions are part of starting freebies that will attract players. Valuing clients and players is too important to keep them and make them stay on the platform. Yes, it's. a sacrifice but still all worth it because everything will still pay off in the end. A good impression will make your site look promising.

It will be definitely worth it if that risky sacrifice means profits in the future and that is really part of the game if you wanted your platform to be attractive and lots of gamblers will play as you have the means that they wanted in a casino. It's a repetitive sacrifice but each and every time you sacrifice, it won't hurt you that much anymore as you know that there will be more profits coming in your way because of that sacrifice just to meet the gambler's needs and wants.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: August 18, 2022, 04:01:24 PM
^^ Yes, this is also my point, boxing politics, it just frustrate us boxing fans that this managers and promoters are not giving us the fight that we wanted to see, because after all boxing is business and these people wanted more money, like Bob Arum's style of having fights in-house so that all money will be his and his boxers. So this is going to huge if the fight are going to be made in the future, specially if both of them remain unbeaten and still both champions.

These are promoters' cash cows and they don't want to kill their cash cow so they cherry-picked opponents for their favorite champion, Crawford made the right decision getting out of Bob Arum he cannot give him legacy fights like the one he is working for against his arch-rival Spence, boxers like Canelo who is a free agent is getting the good fights that he wants because he gets rid of these kinds of promoters.

That's already natural in this industry because promoters will try and tease the people first to make some hype before making the fight to reality, along the way the promoters will let their boxers defeat all possible foes first that they think won't stand a chance for their boxers. And for Crawford's case, let's not forget that Bob is also an important factor why he reached the position he had now but Crawford's mistake is that he waited long enough before he leaves Bob even though he already knows that Bob doesn't care for his legacy.

We can't really blame them for doing that because we might find ourselves in the same shoes if we were placed in Bob Arum's shoes, well, maybe there's some slight difference but the thing is that we also need to think how to make some money repeatedly because this is business in the first place and not all the time we will have a champion caliber in our promotion, so might be best to take some advantage for it.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 18, 2022, 03:37:01 PM
So Bob Arum is being futuristic for Devin Haney and is expecting another easy win by the undisputed champion. Bob said that Haney will get a Lomachenko fight although the Ukrainian needs a tune-up fight first. Devin Haney will have a lot of options if he beats Kambosos again. Inside Top Rank, there's Vassily Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez, maybe Josh Taylor too if he will stay at 140, and Jose Ramirez. Outside of Top Rank, there's Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia.

Yes, we all know that it should be Kambosos vs Loma initially, but because of the war in his native country, Loma wasn't able to do that. So it is just right that he will get a first chance against Haney after the Kambosos rematch to get that title back. For casual fans, might not be good and boring because of Haney's style, but that will be tested against the best tactician we have. So style makes fight here. It could be like Loma vs Rigo though  Grin
At least Haney does not run a lot like Rigo, LOL.. Anyway, we cannot change the style of Haney, he is very effective with his style that's why he will continue to stick with that, and as long as he fights popular boxers and beat them, he should get a big fight that will make him earn big payday.

Haney doesn't need to change his style though because that's his forte and it might be too late if he turns into an aggressive fighter from a defensive kind of boxer, he already reached far enough because of that style and became the youngest undisputed boxer in history of four-belt era.

I'm kind of curious though like who will Haney face next after this rematch because frankly, his chances to win again this rematch is much higher compared to Kambosos.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 18, 2022, 02:26:46 PM
KD won't do any good for the team because I expect that the deal will mean that the Nets will have Smart and Brown, I don't think that they will just go and grab one player from the Celtics in exchange for Durant, right? So in short, the Celtics will not be the same anymore and that means that they will start from scratch again and might find themselves hanging when Durant starts to make trade request next season if the team won't work-out.
They think that it's going to be a good trade if they accept it and fans can't do anything with that. But we all are in agreement that this isn't a good trade.

Whether they see it as a fair or not, it's still not going to do well and this could lose them more fans where also part of sales are coming for the franchise.

Nets won't just settle for a 1:1 ratio trade whether they'll be getting a superstar, most of the asking trade are likely more than 2 and note that they're contributors and star players.

It will be a good trade if Kevin Durant will stay in the Celtics until his contract expires but we all know that Durant will still leave the Celtics if things turns out ugly after this season and the Celtics will be left hanging and destroyed because they all bet for Durant just like what the Nets did but in the end, they were left.

The Celtics should just concentrate in their present roster because they are now much more stronger than the past season because of the experienced they acquired recently. I bet that Brown and Tatum will be more lethal this time.

Nonito's career is not over, but if I would suggest, I think he should retire already.

The way you say that you think Nonito Donaire should retire simply shows that you think his career is over.  I think let's just watch from the sideline the outcome if ever Nonito decided to move to lighter weight.  I know he still has that KO punch but then I hope he still retains 90% of his speed.  I think he has an advantage in the lower-weight division since I believe he can withstand punches in that division more than his current.

With the experience he have in the industry and the talent he possess, I can say that Donaire will be deadly in the lower division but the catch is that we must accept that he isn't the Filipino Flash that we used to know anymore as he's already aging but the power is still there, I don't doubt it. But yes, you are right these are just mere speculations and we should watch him first before saying that he should already retire.

Have been involved with Crypto 6 months now and my portfolio is now only 20% down due to this run we are currently going through.

My main position is 55% in profit and I have been debating if I should take some to then buy back lower when we experience our next crash.

Just wondering what everyone else does? Do you take profits along the way and if so at what point? Or do you just invest to hold long term?

When I first started 6 months ago I had the intention of just buying and waiting 2-3 years till our next bull run to cash out but lately I have been thinking if I can also make money along the way then that would be even better.
Strong hands have been doing great in crypto and that they gradually start taking profits if they've seen it coming, while they also continue long term hodling in their chosen coins. However, if the current price is still in a downtrend, then there's no need to sell because you are like selling at a loss. The best time to sell is when the market is bullish, and while its still in bearish market, its the perfect time for accumulation and hodling them more for long term.

And now he is thinking to go down in weight and chase more challenges and see if he can still fight the best of them.

Who's going down in weight? Donaire? I think that's a bad idea, I believe the best thing to do is to officially retire as he had proven himself already, but if he is still chasing the money, of course, he will use his popularity and will continue fighting.

Yes, he might be using his popularity in the industry to chase some money even though he's already old but I bet he will be successful if that is his motive that is why he won't retire after that loss against Inoue.

Let's see if Donaire still has what it takes and do the talk to defeat champions in the super-flyweight division, I also want to find out if he can.
