601  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Lets have a dedicated sub-forum for crypto exchanges on: December 13, 2018, 10:34:58 AM
So my suggestion to the admin is to create a dedicated sub-forum for Crypto exchanges in this wonderful forum where people can see actual customer experiences and take informed decision for their trading activities.
May be it should called crypto exchanges discussion? This way people will not mess up with the sections like:

Bitcoin Forum > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Marketplace (Altcoins) and
Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Currency exchange

For those thinking about doing this, if he is getting his paypal funds from a bank account/credit card, it might very well be possible that he'll be able to chargeback after 180 days as well.

A buyer may choose to file a chargeback through their bank. Credit card chargeback rights may be broader than PayPal's terms and conditions - for example, they can be filed more than 45 days after payment and may cover intangible items.

If a buyer has opened a claim with PayPal and they then file a chargeback, PayPal will close their claim and the buyer will have to rely on chargeback rights.

A buyer must open a dispute via the PayPal Resolution centre within 180 days of making the payment. This is an extension of the 45 days which it was previously. Buyers are encouraged to deal directly with sellers to resolve the dispute.

If a resolution can't be found, the buyer can escalate the complaint - but only within 20 days of opening the dispute. Otherwise, PayPal will close the dispute and the buyer won't be eligible for reimbursement.

During the claims process, PayPal may require documentation to support your position, such as proof of postage and delivery.

Once a dispute is escalated, PayPal will - after surveying the evidence - make a decision in favour of the buyer or seller.

If you've followed all the requirements for your sale to be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection, it's unlikely that you'll lose out.
@AdolfinWolf I hope you are not making up things.

...to make a shady trade
What makes this trade thread shady by the way?

@Mdayonliner, why don't you just use an exchange? It's not like you haven't scattered your KYC info all over the place already.  Roll Eyes
but now I'm not sure why you can't just use an exchange?
I don't have accounts with exchanges (except Bitfinex) that accept fiat deposit. I knew creating account in a fiat deposit exchange is hassle. They have KYC verification time, excessive charge for deposit, withdrawal charge, deposit limit (10Euro LOL) etc etc. But after reading the comment from jackg and adolfinWolf I did a quick search and found this: https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/buy-bitcoin-bank-transfer-account/ (The summary is: I will have to go through with the KYC time delay, excessive charge for deposit, pathetic deposit limit etc etc which means for 140$ worth of transaction it's too much) I wanted to buy in this deep by the way so timing is important for me.

I browsed on Localbitcoins and there again price is high: http://prntscr.com/ltnn97

The only time I bought using coinbase was long ago and the amount was £50 (that was the highest limit, then I never bothered to log in into that account and now I don't know the credentials)

The reason I wanted to buy using the forum was to avoid the hassles of KYC, Deposit limit, excessive charges (both deposit and withdrawal) but seems like people are thinking too cheap...
604  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need approximately 1 ETH, I have paypal on: December 11, 2018, 04:14:53 PM
I have some, but unfortunately, based on your account, I think you can purchase ETH on some other sites. You can't get people to trust you based on your ratings.
How about there will be an escrow for 180 days. Please read the OP now. I have updated it.
605  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] $140 Paypal [W] BTC - I will pay the escrow fee if needed. on: December 11, 2018, 04:05:08 PM
I traded with someone on localbitcoins previously and that went quite well. I'm only buying at the moment otherwise I'd sell you some (in exchange for a physical CASH deposit into my bank account)...
Thanks mate for the kind response. It feels good that someone is at-least not bothering with my trust rating. If you have ETH then I am interested to buy 1ETH or $140 worth of ETH. I can send you the Paypal. I would not mind if you hold the ETH for 180 days and then release it to my wallet. Here is my topic for ETH: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5082905.0

This way the original account holder lose the activation/confirmation code  Grin
It's the "click this link to lock the account" that makes me wait 2 weeks.
Yes, I was talking about this locking the account link in the email. Sorry I messed it up with confirmation/activation terms  Tongue You can bypass this 2 weeks waiting times if you do this two email steps because once you add your second email then the locking the account link goes to your first email (the temporary email) and the older locking the account link in the main account's email do not work anymore.
607  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling bitcoins for Paypal on: December 10, 2018, 04:28:20 PM
I am interested to buy some BTC. Please read here
608  Economy / Currency exchange / Take my Paypal I want BTC/ETH: Send me the coin after 180 days on: December 10, 2018, 04:22:50 PM
Only trusted members.

I wanted to exchange 140$ worth of paypal for BTC or ETH. Because of my trust rating things are getting very hard for me to buy crypto from forum members.

I am willing to pay escrow fees if you want one. Escrow or the trusted member can hold my BTC/ETH for 180days then release the money to my wallet. I would not mind.

I am basically asking you to take my Paypal and give me the crypto after 180days. Hope it make sense.
609  Economy / Reputation / Re: Thoughts: paying hackers to get accounts back: ethical or not? on: December 10, 2018, 01:51:54 PM
4. The real owner sends me $25 (Loading...), I change the email and password, and wait 2 weeks so it can't be locked.
You don't need to wait 2 weeks. When you change the email you do this...
- Use a useless email address (like yopmail and let no one know about it). The confirmation email goes to the original account holder's email who has the current account.
- Now change the email again with your desire email address. The confirmation email goes to the useless email address which you only know.

This way the original account holder lose the activation/confirmation code  Grin

Most people have mannerisms or some identifying marks when they talk and especially type - typos, grammar mistakes, sentence/paragraph structure, specific slang or usual words they use. I've spotted quite a few alts (or suspected ones) over the years just by the way they type. mdayonliner fairly recently created a new account that he purposely wanted to keep separate and anonymous from his original and within a few days I had an inkling that it belonged to him. He then referred to me by a variation of my name in a specific way that I had only ever seen him use that gave the game away fully. A few other people have since noticed it.
I do not deny that it's not possible to identify an account using the writing style (grammar, typos, sense of humour etc etc) however excuse me (LOL) please.

May I ask to PM me the account username please? I am really interested to see your skill.

I think applying auto-ban and auto-delete for word-phrase "https://airdrop.sapien.community" is necessary.

Let me give you the easiest way...

- Click the search menu from the top menu bar
- In the Search for: section type: "airdrop.sapien.community" <= make sure you include the double quotation
- In the Search order: section select: Most recent topics first
- Finally Click the Search button.

You will possibly see all the posts/topics containing the phrase airdrop.sapien.community. Report them all one by one using the feature Report to moderator (right bottom corner of each post/topics). In the comment section of the report page, you can write something like- "spamming the forum with airdrop link". Mods will take care of it.

Good luck.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core Wallet Address changed no BTC value? Need help on: December 09, 2018, 08:01:27 PM
So I have the BTC address and recovery phrase for the wallet I need. If sync finishes should I see my BTC balance or have I lost my BTC?
If you have the recovery phrase (12 words pass phrase by default) then try downloading Electrum and recover your wallet using Already have a seed feature. This will be easier for you.

617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [H]100 THETA [W] ETH on: December 09, 2018, 07:38:39 PM
i will send you the eth tomorrow morning
Fantastic! If I am online then I will send the token immediately I get the confirmation. If I am offline then you will have to wait until I login here.

Have a good one. Thank you.
618  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone is selling my script... on: December 09, 2018, 07:24:26 PM
What he is doing is considered "untrusted behavior" by definition and should be dealt with. If some DT member is reading this and also find this behavior disgusting, you would be more than welcome to tag him with red trust.

This is the problem with intellectual property. Anyone can copy your work and claim it saying their works. The DTs can tag the account but how many times they will do that? This person will create bunches of accounts and will spam the forum if he see there is a potential market in here for the script.

Anyway, if you are in UK then this might help: https://www.gov.uk/intellectual-property-an-overview

Good luck.
619  Economy / Currency exchange / [H] $140 Paypal [W] BTC - I will pay the escrow fee if needed. on: December 09, 2018, 07:14:32 PM
I am going to buy $200 $140 worth of BTC. I have paypal. You will pay the Paypal fees (if any, UK to UK won't ask for a fee for friends and family AFAIK) and BTC/USD will be preev rate 1:1

YES! I get it!! You won't be comfortable with my trust rating ("Warning: Trade with extreme caution!") and I do not blame you. In this case...
- if you are an established escrow in the forum then I will send you the paypal and after 180 days you can send me my BTC to my address.
- if you are someone who I trust then it goes the same.
- if you are not someone trusted (to me) and if you have doubt on me then arrange an escrow (you pay the fees also I may ask to change the escrow if I have doubt in their service), send the BTC to the escrow and ask him/her to hold the BTC for 180days. I will send you the Paypal once the escrow confirms the payment.

Thank you.

I could not trade with anyone yet. I am locking this topic. Please continue here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5082905.0

How you got to the conclusion that I will even risk 5 bucks with you? ...
Good question and I do not blame you (since you are seeing my trust rating is saying "Warning: Trade with extreme caution!").

I have lost 1000 times or more larger amount than $5 in this forum. Check my loan topic in my signature plus feel free to the scam accusations I have created against the people who fooled me by taking my bitcoins away. They took the advantages of believing people easily.

A guys who could lost over few thousands in the forum is not going away with only $5 from you. Hope it make sense.
