621  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can anyone recommend an event where one can test their trading skills? on: November 15, 2023, 04:15:34 AM
I remember using a platform that allows you to use demo-trading/backtest without registering an account with e-mail etc, or use a fake e-mail that doesn't require any confirmation. Does anyone recall such a platform? I can't remember the name. This could be a good alternative for OP if they don't want to use their e-mail just for testing purposes since it can easily get spammed or sold to some data market by the platform he uses.
622  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My shoppy.gg payments are stuck on: November 15, 2023, 03:53:15 AM
I have the same problem with shoppy.gg, BTC transaction is stuck for days and they don't respond anything
I don't think you can do much other than continuously sending e-mails or tickets so that they will bump the fees. Your stuck transaction is likely because the network is congested and Shoppy uses a very low fee. If they still don't respond you can consider making a new thread instead of bumping this one. Judging from OP's story, there is little chance they will respond and you'll likely end up waiting for the network to be free instead.
623  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Phishing Curve Website on: November 15, 2023, 03:20:52 AM
thesame way the scammers make use of this same avenue to launch their various attacks, we need to take heed while seeking after airdrops.
Unfortunately, some people never learn, sometimes the expert also fails to notice such an obvious scam. While it is the best protection, domain registrars should also improve their filtering method if that is possible. At least Namecheap improves their response time so they can take down domains like this asap, although scammers can easily move to other friendly hosting for their purpose. Personally, I use DNS encryption with a phishing block list to help avoid websites like this.
624  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BetInAsia stealing user funds, do not use this agent! on: November 15, 2023, 02:53:09 AM
You can find their registration details here[1]. It seems like they registered another company as a proxy to manage their activities. Judging from their address, this is definitely another shell company that hides their location and activity like other shady businesses on the market. Their proxy seems to be Maidstar Holding Limited[2]. CMIIW.

625  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your take on CEX platforms integrating DEX capabilities like swapping? on: November 15, 2023, 02:41:40 AM
I don't think the market for DEX will vanish even if CEX implements most of its features. Unless CEX somehow allows non-KYC/registered users to trade or replicate the DEX login-less feature (only using a web3 app like Metamask), DEX will still exist. If that does happen though, it will be interesting to see how long it will last, unless they are registered in some obscure location that has no laws (which is likely a scam anyway).

Personally, giving up personal information is one of the key reasons why I find using a new CEX a terrible alternative if one of my main liquidation methods/trading platforms breaks. I'd still use DEX or P2P even if most of the features I need are provided by the new exchange.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Challenging Privacy in Bitcoin! on: November 14, 2023, 03:42:45 AM
Or should we be focusing on developing new solutions and improvements to further safeguard our privacy in the Bitcoin ecosystem?
Here's the thing, Bitcoin is not a centralized orgs, if some people think coinjoin or mixer is not enough they'd definitely build their own solution for privacy issues. I'm pretty sure some are already doing that, so you don't have to worry about the lack of innovation related to privacy tools. At the same time, there's no way to force all communities to focus on this topic since not everyone feels the urgency to improve the layer of privacy. I'd argue the average joe probably doesn't care about it, and some developers probably think other issues are more important (scalability issues etc).
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some good blogging related services that I can buy with Bitcoin? on: November 14, 2023, 03:15:23 AM
Like you need 5-10 tools to monitor SEO for site.
I second the opinion that you don't need that many tools to monitor SEO. I used to dabble in blogging in the past, and I recall that one tool can do many things related to SEO from keyword search to article structuring, etc. If you need 10 tools to manage your SEO, are you sure you're not using a terrible one? Even if you need to pay for their pro tier or whatever they called it, most of the time they offer more than just one thing to fulfill your needs.

629  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Expect new IRS crypto surveillance to come with a surge in confiscation on: November 14, 2023, 02:57:41 AM
I wasn't old enough to be in the 1930s but at that time the government was about to confiscate gold from the people eventually they bought those gold from the people. I guess the history is repeating itself, only this time its digital.
I guess so, but the context is really different iirc. There's no urgency in confiscating people's crypto compared to the gold crisis. While USA's debt keeps increasing, I don't think they are desperate to find ways to pay it. CMIIW.

but if you don't disclose on your tax returns that you sold some bitcoin, they would consider that tax evasion. and there's probably a penalty for that. if they found out...
Sometimes I feel lucky I don't live in the US. My country's regulation for crypto tax is quite lax. While it is possible to change them, I doubt they'd be as aggressive as the US considering how niche the market is. Even if it becomes more mainstream, other sources of taxes are more abundant and easily accessible for the government as of now.
630  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How can I get my Wise account back after they've closed it? on: November 14, 2023, 02:33:48 AM
Are you sure it is because you make transactions on Binance? According to their faqs, they do allow transactions from a platform that deals with crypto as long as it is registered in the UK [1]. If you successfully appeal your ban, maybe stick with a locally registered platform for crypto transaction in the future.

631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for bitcoin to pivot from mailing lists? on: November 14, 2023, 02:23:56 AM
Doesn't developmental discussion already happen on this forum tho? Or are you suggesting that developers should make a forum account and post regularly here?

I'm not familiar with how they are discussing with each other, but is the mailing list their only communication channel? I recall seeing GitHub discussion and other channels being used, albeit not as much as the mailing list I suppose.

Btw, if the goal is to provide an alternative, why don't you continue suggesting it on that thread? I don't see the need to make a new one just to suggest migrating to Bitcointalk since that topic is titled "Mailing list migration" to begin with.

634  Local / Mining (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Masih Adakah Kesempatan Untuk Menambang Koin Sekarang on: November 13, 2023, 03:18:15 AM

635  Local / Marketplace (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Gratis] Jasa Konsultasi Spek Komputer (PC & Laptop) + Diskusi on: November 13, 2023, 03:00:34 AM
MPE-5501-ACABW-B .
636  Local / Marketplace (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: LENDING BITCOIN SFI on: November 13, 2023, 02:46:07 AM

637  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Fakultas Indonesia Mengajarkan Blockchain dan Crypto on: November 13, 2023, 02:32:30 AM
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone saw mempool right now? Mempool spam on: November 10, 2023, 05:50:10 AM
Why can there not be some way to shift these Ordinals to a side-chain, like they did with the Lightning Network?
I think someone will definitely develop that if the network is continuously unsuitable for them. I'm pretty sure past discussions also discuss this. At the end of the day, it is an open-source project and anyone can develop a side-chain to fit their needs. Altcoins already do this with their layer 2 or whatever they want to call it.
639  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Expect new IRS crypto surveillance to come with a surge in confiscation on: November 10, 2023, 03:20:36 AM
Is this even legal? What's the prerequisite before they confiscate your coins? It would be disastrous if a random person can get thrown in jail just because they have money. Won't this just make people go underground and make it harder for them to track their activities too?
640  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The mom of my friend got scammed 7.3k$ from coinbase usin an app like teamviewer on: November 10, 2023, 02:35:44 AM
Basically an oold friend of her persented the scammer guy to her...now she is trying to reach to her friend for telling him what happened, but he wont answers the phone...started thinking that maybe he is part of it too...she cant find or meet the guy for now .
Damn, that's unfortunate. Have you reported him to the police? You should be able to do that right? Considering that she knows his face and probably his name too. If the police are quick, they should be able to track him down if he's still in your country. If not, then I guess you can still rely on the Interpol.
