621  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the chinese turn into Chinese after the this stock market crisis? on: July 09, 2015, 08:12:33 AM
The stock market in China is so inflated that if anyone got in early enough and got out now they'd still be ok. As it drops the more they'll jump out but there's still a long way down to go.
They will remain Chinese though. And if anything it looks like they'll go litecoin  Tongue
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Private Keys - are not private... on: July 09, 2015, 06:12:53 AM
I've long had this picture in my head of criminals with data collectors like these pita things, driving around like the google maps car, stealing everyone's passwords. William Gibson stuff. But 19 inches kinda throws water on that.

It also says just a second or two. Like it's in your handbag as you stroll around the library...

You say the good guys are on it, adjusting the software and backend (?) but surely the industry isn't that quick. Who's getting breached? These pitas have been in the news for a while. Smoke but where's the fires? Do people even know what happened even after they got robbed?

You think there would be a big uptick in online fraud? Not necessarily BTC but all sorts of encryption protected stuff. Don't you think so?
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Open wallet with 0.09252 BTC ? on: July 09, 2015, 05:33:24 AM
Yes, where/how did you find that?
i could see a dev working with something like that, but they wouldn't announce it in here?
624  Other / Politics & Society / Re: White Goyim Allow 4-Year-Old Son to Do a “Sex Change” on: July 09, 2015, 02:18:46 AM
Johns Hopkins, the institute that invented the sex change operation, wont even do it any more! They studied all the people they surgically and hormonally altered and found that the suicide rate was 20 times higher than normal. That alone should tell you something.

people think that getting a nose job will change their life too. It doesn't change anything besides your nose. But speaking of big noses... those two ladies whose pix are posted above.... since when HAVEN'T Jewish mamas fucked up their sons? I've never known a jewish male who doesn't have extreme neurosis and mommy issues. Its just the way it is. lol.
625  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: July 09, 2015, 02:09:23 AM
well. i just pulled the trigger and dumped my AM1 shares. gone instantly... I guess tomorrow I'll wake up to news that FC is back and the whole thing was just a cover to release some super chip and shares are through the roof.

If any of you are serious about making money, just follow me around and do the exact opposite of what I do. FML

I also cant believe how fast those shares disappeared. I really have to wonder who the hell is buying this garbage... or if they know something...?

double FML
626  Other / Meta / Re: How to get Full Member on: July 09, 2015, 12:23:03 AM
I had no idea an account could be bought. Very funny.

the thing people neglect to think about is; a full member account costs about the same as a full member would earn in 4 months on the best sig campaign. So if you buy a full member account, it will take you 4 months of steady posting to pay it off. Not to mention you could get banned or kicked off campaign... why not just learn to be a valued forum user. If you are here because you want to get BTC, you would be wise to learn everything about btc first. that's going to take more than 4 months anyway.

i wish there was a way to mark accounts so we knew which ones had been purchased. Most are pretty obvious, but some aren't so much. The former are a pain, the latter are just dangerous...see; BitFury sockpuppets...
627  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Havelock Investments - Exchange feedback/comments on: July 09, 2015, 12:12:57 AM
I cant even get connected to the website. "website is offline Error 522"

Let me guess... they'll come on here and say "we've got to shut down for X weeks while we update our servers and redo our back end"
the vanish for good.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Mark Karpells doing these days? on: July 08, 2015, 08:31:37 PM
I spent a few minutes scrolling through his Twitter. Not much going on there. It reads like an unemployed guy trying to keep up appearances.
He's got to act innocent I suppose. Can't do it forever.
629  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: July 08, 2015, 08:09:28 PM
I am a life long supporter of The Toronto Maple Leafs, and I feel that AM is a little bit the same as my beloved Leafs.
I think they still have a chance.
630  Other / Meta / How can I delete a topic? on: July 08, 2015, 08:02:02 PM
I started a topic in "press" section, because I saw some interesting news last night.
When I woke up this morning there is more news saying that what I saw last night was faked.
So I figured I would go back to press section and remove the original post with the link to the bogus news.
It doesn't look like I can remove a topic I started. Should I simple Lu delete the post and title and hope it goes away?
631  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-05] Bitcoin is switching from investment commodity to everyday use on: July 08, 2015, 09:48:47 AM
That infographic is over a year old. I think BTC is being held primarily as an asset by most of the new adopters. Especially with the world markets as they are at present. The recent upturn in BTC valuation also inspires speculation.
It's all good.
632  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-08] CS - BIT Could Bring Bitcoin Broader Acceptance by Investors on: July 08, 2015, 09:42:37 AM
It's small and doesn't have the approval of the SEC but if it performs it will most definitely make investors take notice. It will also open doors for future funds and The Winklvii's ETF.
Let's hope BTC keeps on the rise and this thing shines.
633  Other / Meta / Re: HashFast cypherdoc bankruptcy scandal : Time to clean up bitcoin on: July 08, 2015, 09:15:02 AM
this is very very very illuminating for all who got burned by activemining. that whole scam revolved around all sorts of "top-secret, NDA protected" dealings with hashfast that ultimately left the Activemining shareholders holding the bag and ken slaughter shrugging his shoulders and going "derp"

if one of these retards put half the energy into something aboveboard as they do into these elaborate scams, BTC would be the main world wide currency instead of this sketchy looking tool for hackers and thieves that it resembles today.

yeah, as a community we should do everything we can to eliminate these scumbags. A good place to start is the "securities" section... the front page has at least 3 new obvious scams every day. it is every white hat's duty to go there and poke holes in these shams, call them out, expose them and protect the innocent naive users who might be fooled and in turn be robbed and ultimately alienated from the BTC economy overall.

this garbage VERY bad for BTC

Hmmm, what was Activemining? And how were they related to the HashFast scandal?
Active mining was a company that raised IPO funds out of the securities section. They promised to develop thief own chips, miners, and mining farm. They almost seemed like they might come through, but didn't.
As they imploded the CEO started saying he had a deal with hashfast but it was strictly bound by NDA. Later he claimed he had paid them almost a million USD worth of BTC but the deal was off and he was getting a refund.
He fucked off shortly after that, no one saw a dime.
634  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING AN ACCOUNT on: July 08, 2015, 08:14:05 AM
You probably don't want to hear this but you'd be better off growing your own account the normal honest way. The money you make from a sig campaign would take months to earn back what you shell out for a decent ranked account, so you could save the initial outlay of btc and simply use the time it will take to browse these boards, post, ask questions and learn about btc. I've been here years and trust me I've still got a lot to learn.
In a few months you can raise your rank, develop actual relationships and become a known and trusted member. If you buy an account and just start posting whatever to fulfill a campaign quota you will quickly make yourself obvious and be shunned or ignored and in the end have an overall empty and depressing experience here.
The choice is your's
635  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-07] CT - KnCMiner, SlushPool & BitFury at Odds Over Block Size Increase on: July 08, 2015, 07:04:12 AM
I'm not surprised about BitFury's reaction, they have always struck me as caring only about their own profit margin, not the community at large.

Slush's reaction surprizes me a little, I would expect them to wholly embrace the full 20MB limit, but of course, they profess to not feel strongly either way.
636  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-06] WSJ: A Bitcoin Fund Is Born, With Teething Pains on: July 08, 2015, 07:00:32 AM
More good news! I hope this is a success because I'm sure The Securities and Exchange Commission is watching to see what happens. If all goes well, it will open the door for the Winklvii and many more to come! Yipee!

638  Other / Politics & Society / Re: YouTube Removes Movie Trailer Questioning Whether People Are Born Gay on: July 07, 2015, 07:35:14 AM
I'm guessing it had more to do with viewers complaining... Which could translate as "community standards" but youtube can claim whatever they want. The guy who posted it is supporting a very unpopular opinion and won't have much recourse in the court or Internet.

Freedom of speech... Just watch what you say.
639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Greeks Aren’t Necessarily Buying Bitcoin…Yet on: July 07, 2015, 07:27:56 AM
The Greeks aren't buying BTC, not much anyway. They can't; not enough access to thier cash.
However, I am sure many nearby nations to Greece with similar financial conditions (crisis) like Portulgo or Ireland may be taking notice and diversifying. Also, these spikes cause the Bulls to run so I think there is money flowing in from all over.
It's slow yet. Let's see where we are in a month
640  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-06] Inside Bitcoins Chicago Is Almost Upon Us on: July 07, 2015, 06:30:34 AM
I agree that these events are good, but my browser won't allow me to follow that link.
I googled "inside Bitcoin Chicago 2015" and read about it direct instead, just to be on the safeside. I've always wanted to attend one of these things, they don't usually come near where I live unfortunately.
Still don't know what's up with that link
