Seeing how a forum is successful by having a signature campaign, I wonder why the other forum not follow this kind promotion.

Success isn't a large number of mediocre posts.  When you pay people to post, obviously they will post with more frequency, but that doesn't mean their forum is useful.

643  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Recruiting CTO/Co-Founder for Bitcoin sidechain project using Elements on: November 19, 2023, 08:18:33 PM
Depends on what you mean by a legal framework; as I stated we have an entity and have done a fair bit of legal legwork to the extent that we can plan ahead for the project's growth - but at the moment we are just two people (my co-founder and I) within this legal structure, so take that as you will.

What I meant by "legal" was registered with your local government.   It can be a corporation, a partnership, or a project you are running under the table until it takes off.    The more organized you are, the more likely you are to attract investors.

I guess God actually considers me trustworthy, which is all I need.

OG believes in god as well.

We have a company with shares, internationally registered trademarks, legal opinions and contract templates drafted up, essentially everything in line to begin fundraising (specifically for a pre-seed SAFE round), but our priority at the moment is finding a lead engineer.

So you are just an indie startup with no legal framework yet?
646  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Recruiting CTO/Co-Founder for Bitcoin sidechain project using Elements on: November 19, 2023, 02:55:52 AM
We do not currently have any funding. But we will guarantee very generous equity compensation to anyone able to contribute their time to the project, up to consideration for a position equal to the two current co-founders.

You mention you are looking for a CTO.   Are you a registered corp with shares, or just an indie startup?
647  Economy / Lending / Best chance of getting a loan: Pay back now or later? on: November 18, 2023, 06:59:05 AM
If you are asking for a bitcoin loan without any collateral, it is irrelevant as to when you will pay back or how much interest you are offering, as the instant you receive the coins you end the agreement with prejudice.

The lure of the instant payback was great in the days before the internet; if someone needed money and was willing to pay 50% interest, they would be monitored by a goon until they gave the money back.

On the internet, you can evade my goons every time with efficiency, and then move on without a second thought.

If you have an idea that you are sure will generate a lot of profit, go to a loan shark.   They can make sure you pay them back - we cannot.

Have you heard legendary rumors about an account that catches loan scammers?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSfpoSrCGsQ

1miau, a lot of non-english speakers want to be on this forum and pretend to be english speakers.    Lips sealed   They can generate intelligent text in their language, edit and translate.

I'm not saying in any way that is what happened here - I'm just pointing out it is a possibility that shouldn't be dismissed as easily as you did.
649  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it smart to restrict AI development? on: November 18, 2023, 02:09:20 AM
So, I think they need to figure out how to solve this.

But my point is - there is no they.   It's an absolute certainty that some agency is working on AI privately.   Unless every single group working on AI is working together, restricting a group means they will lose the race.

For example, China has agreed to restrictions.  If China suddenly announces they have a working AGI system, they will not need to fear political backlash. They won't need to fear anything anymore, except for the AI.

I appreciate the response; I don't think this is proper audience for this type of discussion.   Undecided

Isn't it in Vod's best interests to avoid direct contact with someone he's already sopenaed?

Of course!   But if someone is telling you they have been subpoenaed already, it's for something else.  I'm well aware that punitive damages could be reduced should I post anything that is not true.

iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2,

I noticed you tagged this scammer quickly - good job!

I see you only left neutral feedback.  I leave negative feedback, and I'll tell you why.

A person who requests a loan moments after joining is desperate for money, or at least more interested in money than bitcoin.  I cannot think of any reason they would suddenly become willing to participate here.

I remember a father crying for food money for his baby cause he got laid off.   He had one more check coming to pay the loan back.  I asked him what he would do with the hungry baby in one hand and the money to pay back the loan in another.   He said he would pay back the loan.   Wink

I would say that this new evidence is of extraordinary importance to find out, if there are archives about it. As always, we should investigate all the details to get the full picture here. I believe it's very important for the community to investigate these cases in full detail that the community can have the full picture and decide according to that. The best decision can be made, when all the details are on the table.

Is this an edited AI text?   It sounds very familiar.   Undecided
654  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar & extortionist. Get him out of DT! on: November 17, 2023, 05:23:26 AM
OgNasty went from being a single forum treasurer, to 1 of 5 treasurers sharing a multisig, to being removed as forum treasurer. After this (a year later?) the multisig was removed completely.

I don't think that timeline is anywhere near correct.   Undecided

Theymos sent 500 btc to several members - they all stole the coins and vanished.   OGNasty, working with Theymos, gave them back because he is able to scam more here.   Theymos decided to remove OG as the last treasurer, and add him into a multi sig agreement.  He still gets paid with tax free money, but not as much as he did before.

Anyway, I've sent you all emails between myself and RR.

Vod

Always editing for spelling.  Smiley
655  Economy / Reputation / Re: OGNasty good intentions on: November 17, 2023, 04:42:42 AM
At this point for me personally, it's a no-win situation, no matter what truth I speak. I try to rest knowing I've at least done what I can to point it out for others.

Well, the lawyers are taking 40%, but I'm sure you'll be at least partially compensated.  Smiley
656  Other / Off-topic / Is it smart to restrict AI development? on: November 16, 2023, 09:32:25 PM
China, the EU and the US have all placed restrictions on the development of AI.  Is this a wise move?

Apple is outspending many governments on AI research.  You can be sure North Korea and Iran are working on it.   It's a genie that cannot be put back in it's botte; the first nation to get AGI (General intelligence instead of narrow or specific) will be able to shut down all other research.

Imagine a scene in a movie where a gun gets knocked and lands a few meters from two combatants.   In a matter of milliseconds they try to judge each other with their eyes, then they both jump at it.   Anyone that understands the significant and era-changing power of AI is going to do everything they can to get it first.
657  Economy / Reputation / Re: People not reading page 1 comments compilation thread. on: November 16, 2023, 09:22:26 PM
Recently I have come across several cases of people commenting without reading the fucking comments on the first page.

I'm guilty of that on a lot of tech sites.   Who has time to read through hundreds of comments to see if your specific question has been answered?

However, I do quickly browse the first page, since that's where most answers are referenced or stickied.   So I guess I would be OK here.

This is a problem when you pay people to post.  You reduce the quality of discussions to benefits of eating tacos on Tuesday.  Tongue
658  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar & extortionist. Get him out of DT! on: November 16, 2023, 08:48:50 PM
I lost interest to maintain the site and never renewed the domain.

Understandable.
659  Economy / Reputation / Re: OGNasty good intentions (he LIED again lol) on: November 16, 2023, 08:46:52 PM
Anyhow, that said, I've largely avoided dealing with Mr. Nasty since then at all

I think most people have.   The instant you point out an inconsistency in his statements, he'll make something up about you and troll you until you leave.  He will never address the changes in his stories.

I now believe that federal agent I talked to you about a few months ago was bribed by Theymos, or more likely OGNasty, since he is in Aroona.    Sorry for wasting your time.  I'm sending LoyceV all the communications since he is level headed, neutral and trustworthy

I hope you'll give me another chance and join the class action against those two bozos.

I’ve answered all your questions. I’m now hitting the ignore button to the delight of everyone on these forums.

Fitting that the last thing he will write to me is a total lie.  I wish him luck with his mental illness.

As everyone expected, OG did not answer 2/3 questions, and his one answer conflicts with previous statements he has made.  I'll make another thread called "OGNasty's Legacy" where I will take the time to post all proof; I have to do it anyway for the lawsuit.

He makes this big spectacle of himself..."I WILL ANSWSER YOUR QUESTIONS THREE, AND REMOVE YOUR NEGATIVE TRUST, THEN I'M IGNORING YOU" when no one cares.  Just ignore me again, OG - why incriminate yourself further?

OG and Theymos sure are forgiving people.  If someone breaks into your house and robs you, you should call the police, and not post about it on a forum.  If Theymos trusted me, I too would be suspect in his scams.
