641  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Finding strategic partners for an innovation project on: November 22, 2023, 12:37:20 PM
You need to outline your plan or your business model here OP, it is a big deal to many forum users that you are sharing everything that your potential business partner needs to know about the project, doing private messages will not work because other people cannot call out what you are doing which is a good thing so we can call out scams before they can even do anything shady, you know like nipping it in the bud.
642  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Retro RPG game that teaches about Bitcoin on: November 22, 2023, 11:47:38 AM
I love the concept, hopefully you continue to do some updates on this. Is it technology themed or fantasy themed? I really love the idea of fantasy theme but it gets old really quick so hopefully you can do some sort of new stuff like blending of the said themes but who am I to say much right? Do some screenshots of your progress here using TalkImg, other users can help with the problem of the image not showing up.

643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Chatswap - a decentralized crypto exchange for social analysis on: November 22, 2023, 10:16:26 AM
what today's online platforms cannot overcome are problems related to bots, bias, influencers, etc., and these will not be eliminated by online platforms no matter how they address them. and i'm sure that the swap platform you offer will not be separated from these things, trust me. even a company the size of x (twitter) still has difficulty managing their platform with these problems, let alone a new platform like yours. all activities on your platform can be manipulated by people and when the AI technology that you set analyzes this information, in the end it makes wrong recommendations which have the potential to make people lose money.
There is solutions to bots but there is not a lot of developers do it because it is not worth their time and they secretly want the bots populating their projects because in a way they still count as an engagement to the platform which is coveted by many platforms so it is a symbiotic relationship, they do not mess with bots too much, and you get the pseudo engagement that they provide. Regards to the project, OP needs to make sure that you have the ability to pull off the socialization feature because that is a tall order to do for an exchange and no exchange has done it before so make sure you get it right because if not then others will pick up your concept and they will improve it.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 22, 2023, 09:39:28 AM
No way you can do that as a casual gambler, maybe if you are a professional one then it's possible and I don't think that there is any professional gambler lurking in the forum. Maybe casino owners, they are considered a career of the gambling industry so I guess they count too but there is not a lot of people in here that would even share about that as they are most likely to keep to themselves. If you are looking for a steady income, I do not think that it is best interest that you take gambling as your path because a lot of people are losing money in gambling and I do not think that you want to be a part of that, go for the safer one like an office job or go to a trade school.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The love in football on: November 22, 2023, 08:59:52 AM
If you mean the soccer as US like to call it, then I can probably tell you that it's probably a matter of what sport you've grown up from because football isn't that popular here in my country. Another reason probably which is tied to the first reason is that there's a lot of country that's participating in this sport and it's pretty easy to set up if you want to play unlike most sports where you need to set some equipments up, with football, you only need the ball to play, you can enjoy doing those dribbles with your friends trying to steal the ball from you so you don't even need to have a goal post to play. In terms of gambling, it has to do again with what sport you've grown watching and it just so happens a lot of people grew up watching football more than any other sports.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 22, 2023, 07:51:59 AM
Does this kind of stuff outweigh the negative effects of gambling because critical thinking and socialization can still be improved even without gambling, take reading non-fiction and fiction books as a way to improve your critical thinking skills or even doing proper debates, that can help you with socialization and critical thinking skills. As much as others want to make gambling a force of good, I do not believe or think it is ever going to become one because there is already a lot of alternatives already to those said benefits, I am just lazy to add the others.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 21, 2023, 02:47:09 PM
Not really, I'm a poor guy and I should be the one that is asking for help right now when it comes to this kind stuff. And how can I give back to the community anyway, it is not like I am betting thousand worth of USD so I do not think it is really worth my time to be giving back if I ever get a win with the money but maybe someday, when I get out of this poverty pit where I am right now, I would probably do that but I will not do it here anyway, maybe to the community in my place, there is a lot of people there that needs the help too.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 9 Years Before He finally claim his lotto rewards on: November 21, 2023, 02:10:53 PM
Were there no records of the bet beforehand in the lottery system in the first place? Though idrk how it works so they may not even have that kind of system, or even if they did, they never save stuff in the first place. Anyway, I reckon 200k usd is pretty big once converted into php. It might be a different thing depending on the costs he had though, considering it was a 9 year fight and lawyers are by no means cheap. I reckon they had no choice but to proceed though after a certain point so it just lasted till 9 years. I'd say still worth it though, as I said, it's still a lot of money if you consider the cost of living in the PH.
My mother used to work for a lottery house back then and I think they do have a system that records it so either the lottery teller was bad at her job or that the person behind it was just plain stupid that they've got this problem. 9 years of his life was wasted on this, I think that any sane person would just go for it because that amount money I think is still worth a lot even after all those fees for the case, and we can't forget that he was also a expatriate worker which means that he's got the money at the least in all of this, definitely worth it as you've said I live in the Philippines so I know what you are talking about in terms of cost of living and it's damn expensive especially if you are a breadwinner for the family and you don't really have a big salary for your work.
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 19, 2023, 09:56:22 AM
AFAIK, Saudi Arabia is going to invest billions and they are going to pour money into esports and they want to be the esports hub and centre of the world.

As for Valve, still haven't yet announced the changes and we will know that next year after the ESL. Maybe we will just get more ESL.
Saudi Arabia really doing their best becoming the hub for all the best things in life and I am happy for it, I hope that when this happens that traveling and going in a vacation should not get expensive, I really want to see Saudi Arabia even if they are a really strict country to travel to. What is happening to Valve? What announcement are you talking about? I am not up to date with all the stuff that they are currently doing so I am stumped right now, did not even get to watch The International right from the start which sucks.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: November 19, 2023, 09:08:32 AM
It actually varies depending on the gamblers decision whether they'll continue or not after winning a significant amount of money. Personally, I usually continue gambling after I win as it makes me feel lucky however I make sure not to overdo it and make sure to still have my winnings at the end of the day. Most of time, I tend to place safer bets after winning to atleast earn more from what I've originally won and make sure to just gamble my winnings keep my original bankroll if ever things go south(which mostly happens).
But still, it can vary on how the gambler interpret their winnings as some just end their gambling session right after winnings or even just doubling their original bankroll.
Of all the people that have replied to this thread and on other threads about stopping gambling after a win, you are one of the few that admitted to the truth about continuing to play even after winning, a lot of them seems to be trying to justify that you can just quit it altogether and that you will not have any problem doing that when this is the reality that it is difficult for someone to do because of the fact that when you win something in gambling, it is going to make you happy and you are exhilarated that you have a hard time doing what needs to be done which is stopping right then and there and getting the wins.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: November 19, 2023, 07:46:35 AM
Really not a good idea, because gambling is prohibited and is I think against the company's rules. Even with free time it is still unethical to do gambling within the company's premises. Behavior like that won't be tolerated and can lead to the person responsible get fired.
If your company tracks your online company then it is definitely a no go for you to do gambling in your office or at work but if they do not do the tracking then why not do it sneakily, doing sports betting does not need your whole attention so you can just place your bet and just wait for it if you have made the right bet. Also, this question does not have an absolute answer because it can depend on your work and the scheduling in your work, like me I am currently writing this post while I am at my break meaning that I can also do my gambling right now if I want to but as you've said, it's unethical to do but I am not really a fan of all work no play lifestyle so I do not condone having to gamble while working or at work.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 06:07:18 AM
This is going to be difficult to absolutely answer or even get the answer because I am not sure that people are going to be keeping a record of their gambling wins or maybe there are gamblers out there that are keeping a record but it is a tedious process so I highly doubt there is anyone that can accurately say that they profit. Of course anyone can say that they have made a profit because they are still gambling now but if you really want the accurate answer to that question then a full history of your gambling activity will have to be listed to see if you have really profited from your gambling since the beginning.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Letting the cat out of the bag on: November 18, 2023, 09:34:23 AM
If you are facing gambling addictions and you are keeping it all to yourself, you are worsening your problem, find someone who is close to you and open up to them, letting it all out will bring you some relieve and hopefully you will get better, don't wait till you hit the rock bottom before you say it all out.
This is going to be weird to you OP but this solution of opening up to them is the most out of touch advice that I've heard before, addicts hide their addictions or habit from people that they love for a reason that only those addicts know, what you're saying in all of this stuff is pretty easy for you to type because you're not an addict yourself although I could be wrong about it because there are some reformed addicts out there that will do the same advice but I got to say, you are leaning too much on being an out of touch with your advice. Of course they want to do that, but they can never do that unless they do it themselves, remember that if someone wants to get some help that they need to help themselves first because outside help be useless when the person is not willing or wants the help.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: November 18, 2023, 08:26:05 AM
~
True what you said, most of them when they get a win they will shake with their intentions which initially will withdraw all winnings and when winning there will be a sense of dissatisfaction, curiosity, greed, which encourages them to continue the game and like you said they will feel their luck has not run out, so they decide to bet again to continue the game, because with so many strong drivers making them to play again.
That is how most people do when they gamble or do something that they have set a limit to, if they are enjoying what they are doing and are having fun they tend to be loose with their limit and so end up breaking it up entirely. OP is out of touch and think that his advice about people just stopping when they have doubled their initial gambling money is a pretty easy especially with a lot of people not being trained or have a discipline to quit while ahead.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: November 18, 2023, 05:00:36 AM
If you walk into a casino with $200 and you start playing with that $200 and you win $200, get the hell out, you simply just doubled your money, take your goddamn leave, what do you think you wanna do? Win a million dollars? You will go home empty handed.
This is easy for someone to say but if you ever do that for real, you will not be able to do that, the serotonin that you get when you win is going to make you decide differently and make you want to stay gambling even more because your brain if not discipline will make you think that your luck might not be running out yet so you push it even more until you lost all the money that you have, I dare you to try it for real and see if you can do it after a win.
The next thing that rings in your ear is you can still win another or more, that's the devil whipsering, the art of gambling is knowing when to stop.
That is not the devil whispering, that is just your mind and you only trying to justify playing another game and yes I do agree that when this feeling of whispers is starting to accumulate, it is a good time to stop but then again this will be based on your will and discipline again. If you can resist playing more games then good for you.
The only game where you have some power is in Poker, not the online one, this is the best game in casinos, as making profits off of bad players is possible.

As for Other games, You are at the mercy of the house.
Blackjack has the lowest house edge so technically, it is not just poker that you have some power or control. But it can be argued that if you are doing good in Blackjack, you might raise some eyebrows in the casino as Blackjack is notorious game for card counters which is not exactly illegal but it is definitely frowned upon by the casino.
No one actually visits the casino to have fun, you gotta trick the mind, I like to think of it has a fun night out and I am going to spend a few hundred dollars and have a good time and if I win it's a bonus, like I've said, you gotta trick the mind.

Always remember this, you are there to win a game where its statistically impossible to win at, it's not impossible to not understand this about gambling, a wise man once said, "if you want to make money with gambling, own a casino".
I am at a loss here, you are not most people that say that casino is for fun including me, I do not think that people that think like that is going to be good for casinos because playing for money will inevitably lead you to the path where you will try to chase losses.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: November 17, 2023, 09:33:05 AM
That is just a testimonial from only one person, I would not necessarily think that it is going to be a good thing to assume that this is a lesson worth picking up on and having it marked in your heart as the ultimate lesson because this might not even apply to you or even be true in your experience. Even if I am saying this though, I do think that we can learn a lot from this people because their experience is somewhat unique to us normal people that did not experience those stuff so definitely a lot of things can still be learned from that. In my experience, gambling is worse for the people around the gambling addict but drugs is bad for those even outside the immediate family of the addicts because they resort to crime to sustain their addiction and they are most likely to kill themselves depending on the drugs that they are addicted with heroin having the most kills I think.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 17, 2023, 07:25:37 AM
I feel like establishing gambling business is very tough ride because legal procedures are very heavy to beat. But if I had casino, I would love to enjoy it every night. I would like to watch people having fun, getting some drinks. I always liked the idea of making people entertained.
It definitely is a tough ride, I assume that the casino license is just like getting a normal business license so that means that there is a possibility that getting one is going to be overwhelmed with paperwork so a lot of trips to the government agency that will handle the issuance of the license plus there is probably a capital or a payment for the licensing right? That is just the license part is already tedious and then you have to choose the location of your casino, find employees and manage the daily operations which is labor intensive and definitely mentally draining for the owner unless they have a partner or there is a manager that will shoulder some of the burden. Maybe if someone really is ambitious, they might be able to materialize the dream of having their own casino but if they are not then it will continue to just be a dream. To answer OP's question, I do dreamt of having my own casino, it is an easy money business and at the same time the house always wins so it is not that bad of a dream at all to have, it is not like you are planning to materialize it so there is nothing wrong with dreaming of having to own a casino.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 16, 2023, 02:41:03 PM
I disagree with you that it's only in sports betting that you need any skill, shouldn't it be the reverse because when you're betting you just need the analysis of the game, you rely on the skill of the players so technically it's not a skill based gambling because it's not your skill that decides who's going to win. Believe what you want to believe, luck for me is just the easy explanation of the chaotic nature of probability and chances.
If we make it real specific on what skill are we talking about, sports betting is more on the side of skill based, understanding the odds and finding where you can get the best odds is in some way a skill that improves your patience and perceptiveness, maybe you can somehow consider controlling your emotions as a skill that you need to hone, you should not get easily mad when your team is not doing well or when they are winning, control the emotion of being too greedy and exiting early to get a decent win from you bet. Analysis is considered a skill too right? Being able to read how a player will perform for the team is something that not a lot of people can do because they are focused on the whole team. I like your opinion about luck but I do not think that luck is just like that, it is like your faith in the Supreme Being, you cannot measure it nor see it but you know it is there.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: November 16, 2023, 01:40:57 PM
Don't allow yourself get to the point of addiction because it is when you get addicted you then start to put up habits as drinking and others probably to help you was off the pains off your losses which on the long run you never get to forget those losses by drinking or drugs.
Easy to say but I am sure that it is a difficult thing to do and it is also difficult to notice when you are bordering on addiction or if you are already an addict. Lots of addicts do not really have the self-awareness to know and accept that they are already addicted so it is difficult to do what you are advising maybe if you are a person that has the discipline of a samurai then you might be able to do notice if you are getting addicted. I do not know about gambling being a gateway for other addictive habits but if it ever comes to that then you are going to need immediate help.
Most times these guidelines help to gamble responsibly but it's sad that most persons fail to be disciplined enough to want to keep to these guidelines which would have helped them become better persons regardless of their gambling habits, discipline is one key factor they should be considered because you could have a strategy and plans as well but if you are not disciplined you will still fail at it.
Guidelines that is not constantly being reminded is just a piece of text that you will read when you get curious or when you pass by it, a constant reminder that you should do this is the ultimate way to make things more effective especially in the case of gambling responsibly, players are easily distracted by the games and the cheers happening around if you are in a casino but the point is when you want to make some kind of point about gambling responsibly, a typically increase constant reminder is what you are going to need when you want to help a gambler.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is the second most popular investment in "France" on: November 16, 2023, 12:34:56 PM
I can see that the survey looks very legit. More than 8k people were surveyed, and the results are supposedly representative of the adult population, which I think it's probably true. I didn't know investing was such a popular thing in France, as 1 in 4 people invested in something, and that 9.4% is from the adult population of France, so we're talking about millions of crypto investors in France.
I'm happy to see such great numbers in France, and it would be interesting to follow the dynamics in the future (does the percentage go up, down, stay the same).
You are surprised about the popularity of investment probably because people who are investing don't really shout out their investments or their ventures, I mean most of the people around the world don't really talk about it anyway not to mention that most investment or investing companies don't have any advertising of what they offer. When you put the percentage into a raw number, I felt insignificant and surprised that millions of people are invested in crypto maybe because I am locked in this cage we call forum that I thought that this is all the people that are interested in crypto.
