661  Economy / Services / Re: 3 year mining contract .024 BTC for 277 KH! on: July 17, 2014, 10:52:28 PM
I am genuinely interested in this however this bit worries me:

If I cannot sell a minimum of 600 shares then your money will likely be refunded and I will be at a colossal loss.

So if you don't sell the 600 you may or you may not give us our money back ?

You will also need to keep updating this thread with the amount of shares sold, but I suspect many of us would wait unit you are at 550 before jumping in, for fear of losing our money.

Cheers
Mark

I actually closed out the groupbuy and refunded the 3 souls who were brave enough to invest in me and gave them a little bit extra as a token of thanks for their trust.  Sadly - its not even certain if they are a scammy company or not at this point  Cry
662  Economy / Lending / Re: Personal loan, how can i get one? on: July 17, 2014, 10:35:44 PM
LOL - I just read 'without collateral'

Double 'it aint happenin'

usually that is one of the only ways to secure a loan - half of the amount as collateral in a different alt like litecoin.
663  Economy / Lending / Re: Personal loan, how can i get one? on: July 17, 2014, 10:33:46 PM
Thats the pot calling the kettle black.  Look, you, getting a loan, here? Zilch, no chance whatsoever.  If you can put together a good enough reason for needing the personal loan, and you feel confident in that you'll pay it back, then try out btcjam.  You'll have better luck finding 'investors' there.

664  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [SELL] Altcoins Dice Game - http://altdice.net on: July 17, 2014, 10:25:13 PM
I simply used your Losses Tab and summed up the top losses (I know I know, there could have been A TON of 'lose' transactions under 3.8 million IFC), I was simply running the total payouts to the biggest losers.  20-25 BTC worth is a LOT of alts.

Your point on Litecoin is reasonable - however giving your backstory to justify the high purchase price for the site simply so you can have collateral for a loan is not.  I'm sure that to run this site well you have to sink in at least 500 to 1000 a month on advertising to get alt-coiners in and gambling.  Your market, like the Asic Technology market is now flooded with competitors all trying to score a piece of the market.  If you sold this back in September-October of last year, I would have probably not questioned your price - but as things stand now, the entire market landscape is different and there is no way you'll get that.  This game does let you use different alts, but its at best a clone amongst a sea of *dice clones.  I'm sorry I got onto this tangent with you about it, I wish you the best of luck with your new endeavor and hope you can secure funding without needing to sell this.  Try to put together a kickstarter, you never know.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 17, 2014, 09:48:23 PM
I know reddit was sworn off by them but what about this place, did they swear off BTC talk too?  I'm one of those that put down a deposit but when I requested a refund was told I was too late and to pay or piss off.  They spent literally 3 weeks to get back to me to tell me to piss off which is totally bothersome to me.

Whose competing for the "new bfl" title here?  Black Arrow or Alpha-T?
666  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to prevent Bitcoins being seized? on: July 17, 2014, 09:29:40 PM
As title says: how do you keep bitcoins safe from LE(Law Enforcement) incase they have a warrent to storm your house take everything etc. What can a user do in such situation?

What steps do i need to do crypting my wallets etc . to prevent this? aswell so they cant see the amount of bitcoins in a wallet/computer

How to Crypt your wallet:

1) Travel to 3 points in North Denver
2) initiate your wallet in the local chapter
3) Pop some punk-ass-bloods
4) Find some at a gas station - walk towards them while a bigrig is comming your way to cause the big rig to swerve into them.
5) Congratulations, your wallet is now Crypt-ified.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Begining of the END for BTC. Bitcoin is becoming ultra regulated currency on: July 17, 2014, 09:21:04 PM
Chiming in on What he said ^^^ without volatility we would be stuck with some stable crap number that no one wants - imagine its 2017 and BTC value is still at .40 cents.  Those said ASICS would not exist and likely neither would coinbase|bitpay.

For that matter most of the alts would ceast to exist as well   Tongue
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Begining of the END for BTC. Bitcoin is becoming ultra regulated currency on: July 17, 2014, 09:13:40 PM
Guys as BTC became mainstream everyone who trully loves crypto will go under radar on tor network and darknet and use XC, darkcoin and other privacy based coins..

Is it really necessary to stay under the radar.  Do you feel like your rights are violated SOOOOO much that you spend excessive time using Tor ir i2p or freenet?  I tried them out and honestly the deep web has been an underwhelming waay overrated experience.  I want BTC to go mainstream because I'd like to see everyone pass on the savings of using BTC with lower pricing (yes a pipe dream probably not going to happen)  and I want to see companies give kickbacks to users who use btc over other currencies (sort of like what isis is trying to do - they feel threatened by cryptocurrency so this is an attempt to keep users incentivized to continue using consumer debt attached to high interest rates.)

Not all BTMs require you to 'sell your palm print|ID|DNA|etc'.  I think they do more good than harm because it draws attention from those who have no idea what it is and it makes those who DO know what it is smile because they see that cryptocurrency is becoming more accessible to the mainstream.
669  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [SELL] Altcoins Dice Game - http://altdice.net on: July 17, 2014, 08:13:02 PM
Just as a heads up, this user wants 250BTC, and won't come down lower than 200BTC

If that still interests you, by all means contact him  Roll Eyes

sllll ouch!  Can he show a velocity earnings so we can have an idea of ROI?  Give me 3 minutes people and I'll do some investigative analytics for myself to help draw more conclusions for everyone else.

My own gripes:  Takes forever to load (to his credit, once its loaded it runs relatively smooth)  It uses a flash counter - this doesnt play nice with google chrome when you have flash disabled by default (I suggest you do this if you don't it - works great for blocking ads in addition to standard ad-blocker)

Seems like the site LOSES money - I could be mistaken, but it looked like someone lost .1 ltc and the site paid out like 3.47 LTC.  for IFC it paid out 6.8 Billion but took in less than .437 Billion.  Sure the code and hardware are worth something - maybe 20 ish BTC, MAYBE.  Alexa shows 52 sites backlinking towards the domain with the following topping the list:

1.   reddit.com   reddit.com/r/JackpotCoin
2.   secureserver.net   ip-173-201-142-193.ip.secureserver.net...

670  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Please Help Noob finalize his dreams - Need AntminerS1 x3 Remote setup help on: July 11, 2014, 12:55:57 AM
hmm in a nutshell your easiest (free) bet is to install chromium on the raspberry pi image.

Login to the antminers at your friends house.
Go into the networking settings and set your WWAN setup (click edit) to be 'Static' and not dynamic.  Make them a new IP address (192.168.1.129 for instance)  Save and restart.  Now repeat again for the next antminer - but be sure to make a different IP address.  (if you use wifi setup then simply change your wifi ip to static and repeat the above.

Now, from home|work|ufo|wherever chrome remote desktop connect from your pc to connect to your chromium browser on the pi within your friend's network!  To remotely change settings simply login to chrome remote desktop on your pi and open a new chrome browser tab and administer away!
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block with only 1 transaction on: July 10, 2014, 03:42:39 PM
hmm- why can't a person simply setup their mining hardware to seek out the 1st transaction and submit it as a complete block with just the 1 trx immediately upon receipt?

Doesn't probability of finding an accurate block increase substantially as the # of transactions goes down?
672  Economy / Goods / BTC themed postage stams good in USA only on: July 08, 2014, 07:04:46 PM
Figured it would be healthy to bring these up again as I think they are an inexpensive way to spread bitcoin awareness.

http://honeybadgerofmoney.com/product/1st-class-bitcoin-stamps/

I sell them for 59 89 cents, but if you pm me, I'm willing to sell just one by itself without the postage fee so it goes onto an envelope addressed to you.

Promoting this one for the week, looking to see if anyone is interested in buying some.  Thanks for your time BTCTalk!

edit: admitted mistake, I need to reflect my pricing to not take a total loss on selling these. FWIW I've paid 82 cents per stamp I will only be making 7 cents per stamp sold - that would put the total profit motive for my stamps endeavor to a whopping $14 dollars (if there is a demand for them I will certainly make some more)
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Marshall's Bitcoin Auction Results on: June 29, 2014, 08:54:23 AM
So what do you think about those numbers? Isn't safe to assume that half of the Bitcoins have been purchased at market price i.e. $600 and the other half at much lower price? 42 bidders is a very small number. I would guess that the other half have been acquired at <$500 and inevitably will be sold on Monday to the market driving the price below $500...

Any thoughts?

Doubt that they sell all in one go like that.  Makes more sense to sell half, buy them back to gain from the short play, then go long and sell them gradually so as to not disrupt the price abruptly - never completely exiting the position.
674  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [In Stock] Batch 8! Gridseed miners in Stock in Los Angeles. [$225] on: June 24, 2014, 08:31:23 PM
Here are my conclusions:

  • purchased 1800 dollars worth of hardware.
  • in less than 60 days - one of the blades actually died from burning out the ferrite bead
  • the other 3 blades (I have two units) no do not work for whatever reason.  [no matter which psu i use they refuse to load up like there is no power]
  • ZH tells me " no warranty - no refurbished units available " just a discount for new merchandise since my 'new' merchandise happened to fail just after the warranty period.

Take your own conclusions from my experience.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the chikun arise? on: June 10, 2014, 03:02:18 PM
Guys, will LTC ever recover or should I sell my 24 LTC now? I've been waiting for 6 months and it's only going downhill so that's why I ask. I am purposedly not asking on LTCforums because I want to avoid bias. Thanks!

I'll buy them Smiley  LTC will always be that '2nd chance' mkt that people will flock to once btc flourishes.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [GROUP BUY] Alpha-T Scrypt Miners 25 MH/s on: June 08, 2014, 08:36:30 PM
idk why there is such hate on these guys - they came out earlier on and have given everyone consistent news.  While Im not watching them every single day, I believe they will still deliver.  Anyhow I am hosting a group buy and was shocked to see that this thread sort of died between deliveries of gridseed and zeus and knc.  But I still believe in them.  Offering the remainder of my setup which looks just like this one too - 277 KH per share offering 1200 shares so its low cost to get into.

You believe in them so much you're trying to sell your stake in them?

QFT! ROTFLMAO.

I just saw this - FWIW  I wouldn't sell them had I just turned my funds into fiat instead of keeping them as BTC like I had initially done - greed its a hellava drug Smiley

I've my remainder still and if BTC price does a surge north back to december levels (1000-1100ish) then I should be fine and will call off the groupbuy (refund initial buyers of course).

678  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where i can sell my business plans and ideas about bitcoin and its dev? on: June 06, 2014, 07:08:12 AM
Ideas are cheap, dirt cheap.

its easy for someone to come up with an idea - its another thing to spend the time planning a solution which includes every intricate detail, how much it costs, how much is realistically expected to be yielded from the plan, and a milestones timetable for project completion.

If your ideas do not include those things - don't expect to be able to market them for money.

These other folks here are telling you to invest in the ideas yourself - while you may not have the exact solutions to your ideas, I would recommend that you try your best to find what particular modules and methods are required to make your desired functionality work.

680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Government Bans Professor for Mining Bitcoin with A Supercomputer on: June 06, 2014, 12:01:50 AM
Because the government owns so many their self.  Wouldn't be surprised if they create it.  Either way bitcoin is run by greedy tyrants who do not value free speech.

I LOL'ed from this one, in concurrence - "we can't MINE btc, WE CAN'T!!!!!! It sets the tone that we consider BTC creation as legitimate as USD printing"
