661  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Generate Receive Code Via API on: December 04, 2020, 02:15:20 PM
I wouldn't know who paid as they only get a wallet address to pay into.

If you don't need to know which user sent you the donation, simply just use a single static address.
If you want to know which user sent you the donation, use a new address for each user. Depending on how your website is constructed this can be done with multiple tools.

You could use core, electrum or a centralized service provider. That's up to you. Searching the internet with your favorite search engine or using this forum search will yield enough results.
662  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: NEU: Ledger Nano X - Information - Hardware Wallet on: December 04, 2020, 10:46:42 AM

Dein Hardwae Wallet managed deine private keys.
663  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: NEU: Ledger Nano X - Information - Hardware Wallet on: December 04, 2020, 10:26:26 AM

Falls du deine ETC bewegen willst, verwende Myetherwallet.
664  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitkey for cold storage on: December 04, 2020, 09:25:06 AM
The "advantage" was that Bitkey was preconfigured with some "no network" options, so on boot you could choose to boot with zero networking... and it then launched a version that had no networking enabled. I believe it was actually disabled at kernel level, so no need to worry about disconnecting ethernet or switching off WiFi etc...

There are multiple distros available which also offer exactly this.

If i am not mistaken, tails or parrot should offer that (not completely sure since i'm not using tails and didn't boot parrot for quite some time).

Not a real advantage compared to other distros IMO.
665  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: NEU: Ledger Nano X - Information - Hardware Wallet on: December 03, 2020, 06:25:10 PM

666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: /ur/local/bin/bitcoind not found Ubuntu Desktop for Raspberry Pi4 on: December 03, 2020, 06:17:30 PM
Did you check the permission of the file? Type:
Code:
ls -al /usr/local/bin/

Are you logged in as root instead of a unprivileged user using sudo?

Check whether /usr/local/bin/ is in your $PATH by typing:
Code:
$PATH
667  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't move money out of electrum wallet on: December 03, 2020, 06:13:19 PM
Created a request code

No, you didn't. There are no "request codes".
I guess you mean address?

then wento the wallet with the BTC in it and pasted that code into the recipient address.

I guess you tried to send BTC using the new address from your new wallet? Correct?

The I pick a block option and the payment comes up in the list below.

There are no "block options". Do you talk about the fee?

Except it say pending, or waiting and after 24 hours it says expired.

Nothing ever expires. Be more precise.

I've tried this lots of different ways but I always get the same issue.
Any suggestions appreciated!

Here is a suggestion:
Actually describe what exactly the problem is. Use the correct terms. An address is an address and not a "payment code".
No one understands you this way.

If you don't know anything about bitcoin or electrum, make screenshots to illustrate what you are talking about.

We can't help you with the "information" you have provided.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Claiming BCH from BTC stored in Electrum and moving everything to Ledger Nano S on: December 03, 2020, 05:59:41 PM
[...] and it's not possible for the BTC sent to "vanish", never reaching the receiving address?  Shocked

This, for sure, is not possible.

If your transaction is marked as RBF, you can always just create a new transaction spending the same funds again.
This way, your transaction won't be "in limbo".

It might not get confirmed for quite some time, but eventually it will. And with RBF, you are always free to create a new transaction (e.g. with a higher fee).
669  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: NEU: Ledger Nano X - Information - Hardware Wallet on: December 03, 2020, 05:57:20 PM

670  Other / Meta / Re: Account blocking for something that was not on: December 03, 2020, 03:17:08 PM
No and no. In the context of plagiarism, the text should be someone's unique thought. But this is not a thought that belongs to Ateo Breaking. This is Nexta's statement shared by Ateo Breaking and steklomoy on their own initiative. Learn to separate the wheat from the chaff.

It really doesn't matter how you call it.

What you did was to simply copy/paste something without mentioning any source or using quotes.

You made this look like it were something you wrote your self, which clearly isn't the case since it was just copy/pasted from somewhere.
Quote
FUN FACT: Due to a longstanding bug in the Bitcoin source code, the time spent mining the first block in each difficulty epoch actually has no effect on the next difficulty calculation. Even if this block somehow took an entire year to mine, it would not cause the next difficulty to drop, believe it or not!

672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can you use the same address to send AND recieve Bitcoin? on: December 03, 2020, 02:35:05 PM
A lot of misunderstandings come from the fact that there are no addresses on a technical level.
Addresses are a construct made for humans.

You could (only in this case, please don't generalize it) imagine an address as your bank account.

You can receive BTC by sending them to your address (just as depositing them to your bank account).
But you can also send BTC from your address (just as sending/withdrawing from your bank account).

A transaction has a sender and receiver. Sending the coins "back to the same address" means that the sender of the first transaction is now the receiver.
673  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Importing Paper Wallet Funds to Electrum WITHOUT creating a watch only wallet? on: December 03, 2020, 02:28:04 PM
So if I imported my keys to mobile wallet, and it shows a balance, i can send those funds?

Yes.

It has same addresses on the paper wallet that are on my phone, I tried sending the coin back to paper, but the transaction is uncofirmed, but there was a fee charged of course. Should I not have done this? Should I just send my coin to the xchange where I am trying to sell? Where can I get some hands on help ?Is that even possible?

What?  Huh

I think you didn't understand the concept of BTC yet.
Your coins are not stored on your paper wallet. And they are not stored on your mobile.

The BTC are assigned to you on the blockchain.
In order to spend them, you need the corresponding private key.
Sending your coins "from your imported mobile wallet" to your "paper wallet" is basically just a transaction to yourself.

You should have simply sent them to the exchange.
674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's talk about Privacy on: December 03, 2020, 02:14:05 PM
interesting, why do you think an ISP is more trustworthy than a VPN provider?

Because the VPN provider do make money with your data.
If you truly found some which doesn't, it definitely won't be free or a 5$ per month VPN.

usually a main thing to look for on VPNs is if they keep logs or not, checking their terms and policies is important too.

All VPN provider do keep logs. They are required to do so to not get shut down.
Multiple cases have been made public where the logs of VPN provider, who allegedly don't keep logs, got exposed.

You shouldn't blindly trust a VPN provider that they don't keep logs.
675  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armoury 0.96.5 not going online on: December 03, 2020, 02:09:48 PM
Bitcoin has finished.

This is the armoury log now: https://pastebin.com/XMXAS0pj

Everything looks fine so far after syncing.

What issue(s) do you currently have? Still no connection? Even tho core is synced and up and running?

677  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Die Default Trust wurde geändert ! on: December 03, 2020, 02:03:52 PM

I will periodically (maybe every month) be reconstructing the default trust list to include everyone who matches these criteria:
 - If rank was determined solely using earned merit, then you must be of at least Member rank.
 - You must have been online sometime within the last 3 days.
 - Your trust list must include at least 10 users, not including ~distrust entries.
 - You must not be banned or manually blacklisted from selection.
 - You must have posted sometime within the last 30 days.
 - You must have at least 10 people directly trusting you each with an earned merit of at least 10, not including merit you yourself sent. These "votes" are limited.
 - You must have at least 2 people directly trusting you with an earned merit of at least 250, not including merit you yourself sent. These "votes" are limited.

Unlike the previous policy, I will not generally be trying to cultivate a good list; that will be left to the DT1 members themselves.

678  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitcoin wallet on: December 02, 2020, 11:53:35 AM
If you want to use your full node wallet, you either 1) have to get a bigger hard drive or 2) use pruning.
But keep in mind that changing your wallet file or other issues can result in a rescan needed. With a pruned node this means the whole blockchain has to be downloaded again.

If you just want to access your coins and move them, using a SPV wallet and importing your private keys would be the fastest way.
679  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: is "bitwallet" real? on: December 02, 2020, 11:47:16 AM
I wonder.. how do people find those shitty scam wallets all the time?

Just check some reputable sources for wallets, you will always be presented with the same X reputable wallets.
How does one find such a horrible one?

Also, don't use any web wallets. Use a software- or hardware wallet.
680  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Block Chain Konto leer geräumt on: December 02, 2020, 11:44:23 AM

  • Private Key

Damit sollte deine Frage beantwortet sein.
