681  Other / Meta / Re: Wallet Software Board Need General Wallet Thread - Complicated Task For Admin on: October 23, 2023, 07:17:31 PM
We do not need another board for this, we already have a dedicated child board for Wallet software under the Development & Technical Discussion

On that board, you can discuss anything about any wallets.

Well, technically, That board is for Bitcoin wallets specifically.  And it looks like the original poster is more into altcoins.  But I agree with you - I don't think we really need a whole separate board just for that altcoin wallets.  Its not exactly important when we're talking about Bitcoin ecosystem.
682  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First bull run - how to not sell too early? on: October 23, 2023, 07:02:18 PM
We all want to know the perfect moment to cash out for maximum profits.  The frustrating truth is there's no magic number or crystal ball to predict what the markets gonna do next.  At the end of the day, it comes down to you and what you're comfortable with and

first, take a good look at your goals.  How much of a profit are you really hoping for here? Have you decided on a target number that you'd be happy with - say doubling your investment? If so, then maybe take those gains and run when you hit your goal.  But if you have bigger dreams then strap in for a longer ride and see how high this thing can go.  Patience pays off sometimes in crypto world.

That said, it never hurts to lock in some profits while still leaving yourself room for more potential growth.  Many savvy investors use a strategy like this to balance taking profits and chasing further gains.  Do what feels right for your situation.  Just be honest with yourself about what you want and dont get too greedy waiting for the perfect exit.  The reality is there's no perfect time - you've just gotta pull the trigger when the time feels right for you.
683  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin on BNB (Binance Smart) Chain on: October 22, 2023, 11:44:46 PM
OP, Can you post the transaction here? If the coins are on that BSC network, they aren't real Bitcoins and  you'll probably need to use some kinda exchange or bridge to change them back to real Bitcoin.

Those smart chain coins are different even though they call it Bitcoin too.  Its confusing, I know! But if you dig into the transaction details we can hopefully figure out what's going on and how to get your real Bitcoins.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 22, 2023, 11:32:21 PM
It's true that gambling while working is not recommended. If you work, just work, don't do anything else outside of work. Everything has its time, there is time for work, study, play and even gambling. For me personally, I set aside weekend time to gamble and that's only for a few hours, not for long, because the game I play is a slot type and there's no point in lingering on it.

I gotta say gambling at work is probably not the best idea.  Your boss is paying you to work, not bet on games online and  that being said, everyone deserves a little break now and then.  If you've been grinding I don't see an issue with quickly checking a score or placing a small wager when youve got some downtime.

The key is making sure it doesn't get in the way of your actual job.  You can't be so focused on sports betting that you're slacking on your tasks.  I think it depends a lot on your line of work too.  Some jobs are more flexible than others when it comes to stuff like this.  You definitely gotta make sure its allowed where you work first, don't wanna get in trouble with the boss over some bets!  Cheesy
So it is better that we gamble on time and not the workplace, it is the best option that a worker can choose if he wants to gamble, because whether or not it affects the task or work when we are at work doing gambling is a bad option, especially if you are working.

Yes in some workplaces it may be more flexible and allowed to do anything at work, but the bad impact on psychology if we do gambling and then we lose in gambling it can usually disturb the mind for a long time, so you should not do gambling at work, even if you are allowed by your boss to gamble at work.

It depends on your attitude towards gambling and some people feel differently about gambling.  Yes, if you lose a bunch, it can stress you out big time.  But some people can have fun with it and not go overboard.  They see it as entertainment or a way to chill on a break from work.  Really it's about finding the right balance so it doesn't mess up your work.  What's good for someone might not work for the next person and  you gotta think about your own deal and do whats right for you.
685  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trade Medex on: October 22, 2023, 11:53:17 AM
I do not know the reason some people will not go for the trustworthy sites that are very common but instead prefer to go for sites that their domain has just been created not quite long and that are for scammers.

If it is because the fake or scam exchanges are using something related to reward to lure people, it should be known that people should avoid too good to be true tactics of the scammers.

Scammers try to pull this trick all the time.  They know folks get drawn in by new, unverified websites making big promises.  Crypto's the hot spot now because of everyone trying to strike it rich quick.  But yeah, you gotta watch out for deals that seem too good to be true and  that's usually a big red flag something shady is going on.
686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised exchange getting better than Decentralised exchange? on: October 21, 2023, 05:07:00 PM
The whole centralized vs decentralized exchange thing is less about one being better than the other, and more about figuring out what works for you based on your priorities and how much risk you're cool with taking on.  You talked about some of the nice parts of centralized exchanges, but left out one of the biggest downsides in my opinion.  Since centralized exchanges hold all the coins, you gotta trust them fully with your crypto which opens up a can of worms when it comes to who's really got control.  In crypto world, it's all not your keys, not your coins, so going through a centralized exchange means youre handing over the keys and just hoping they keep your funds secure.  On the other hand with decentralized exchanges you keep the keys and control over your assets.  That's a big factor to think about when deciding between centralized vs decentralized and  at the end of the day, it depends on your personal risk tolerance and what you value most.

CEXs are secure and reliable until they're not. You gave a good example with the FTX exchange, which rapidly became one of the largest crypto exchanges in the US. And we all know what happened in the end. As for the rumors, are you suggesting that there are no current rumors about Binance?
687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flash Bitcoins r not a threat? on: October 21, 2023, 03:57:23 PM
I heard flash bitcoins (Fake bitcoins) are circulating.
They disappear after 90 days.
<...>

I've never heard of this before, Can you provide more information? Where did you hear of these "flash Bitcoins" that disappear in 90 days?

There are various altcoins or tokens that can be loosely referred to as fake Bitcoins. For example, BSV is often considered a fake Bitcoin. However, it's an altcoin with its separate network and market price, unrelated to the actual Bitcoin network. Also, there are so-called "Wrapped Bitcoins," like WBTC, which also aren't real Bitcoins but tokens on other networks that represent the value of real Bitcoins. In most cases, you can exchange them for real Bitcoins. Still, I've never heard of fake Bitcoins that vanish in 90 days.

689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 21, 2023, 02:11:42 PM
I get why people keep betting even when they lose.  Each new bet feels exciting and hopeful, like maybe this one will be the big win.  It's kinda like chasing a high.  For other folks, it's just entertainment, even if they're not winning and  theres also the social part - some enjoy betting with friends and chatting about it.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 21, 2023, 01:59:22 PM
Keeping records of your gambling history is not that bad if you prefer that way but some really don't care about records. I personally didn't care about it as well. Unless curiousity strikes me and did something like a trial and error or an experiment in a specific game like the lottery. If you are just having fun with gambling as your past time I don't think there is a need to keep some of your records.

I totally agree! Keeping records in gambling is a personal choice. I'm more of a go-with-the-flow person myself.  For me it's all about having a good time, not worrying about taking notes or whatever and  if you get curious and want to try tracking stuff just as an experiment, cool.  But at the end of the day, gambling is our hobby and I just wanna enjoy it without making it into a chore with a bunch of record-keeping.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 21, 2023, 01:37:54 PM
<...>
I love to read your thoughts on this.

This is an interesting problem you've brought up here. I think how much someone values privacy when gambling really depends on the person.

If I somehow won a good chunk of change, like ,000 or more, and the casino demanded a thorough KYC and to give them all my information, I probably wouldn't think twice about it and would hand over what they asked for right away.  But if it was some casino I wasn't familiar with and wasnt sure I could trust I'd be more hesitant and probably wouldn't risk betting really big money there in the first place.

You said the total bet was under $100 which isn't a lot but still wouldnt make me feel comfortable either.  I'd probably start by placing bets of just a couple bucks to test out the site first and  for me, step one would be doing some research on the casino's reputation and if I could find any reviews or feedback from other gamblers.  If everything looked legit and trustworthy, then I might feel better about going through their verification process.
692  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: October 21, 2023, 12:15:22 PM
I know it takes time to handle accusations and some times, community will have people who believe in invalid accusations too. So it's better if a casino can have their preventive tools to break down bot operations as earliest as possible.
It's not that simple. Bots will always exist no matter how much sites improve their security protocols. Why? Because new bots will popup in place of old bots pretty quickly through minimal time and effort.

Social media sites like Twitter are also pretty bad at dealing with them and it has gotten worse ever since Musk took over.
As I said before, it is impossible to eliminate 100% of bot usage but at least the casinos have anticipated to be able to reduce the number of bots that enter. I agree wth you, that it is not as simple as what we think, because as the words I often hear, "cheaters or bad people are smarter" and they alwasy have ways to find loopholes and then they are still into it.
It's a tough job for a casino and I'm sure we all have the same thoughts on this, especially now that it's the modern era where it's easy to outsmart things.

You make a good point - dealing with bots is definitely an ongoing struggle for online platforms like casinos.  Those sneaky bots seem to always be getting smarter and adapting to try to game the system.  And like you said, new ones pop up all the time! It's a huge pain for casinos and really any website these days when hacking the system is kinda becoming a hobby for some people.

But it's not only the bots causing headaches and  the online world keeps expanding every day, with more and more people getting internet access, particularly in developing countries where broadband is still catching on.  Even just a few bucks of bonus money can seem like a great prize to them compared to their standard of living.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Does BIP39 allow for the same words to be repeated more than twice in a seed? on: October 20, 2023, 04:38:54 PM

The BIP39 standard doesn’t allow for any word to be repeated more than two times in a seed phrase.
This is completely wrong.
It's good this thread was created; at least what I was carrying around as knowledge is actually wrong.

In that case, you need to edit your first reply so that you don't pass your wrong knowledge on to someone else.

This leaves me with this question. There is a higher possibility of words being repeated in a seed phrase, or 24 words. Let's assume up to 3–4 random words are repeated to make up those 24 words. won't it make it a bit easier for such a seed phrase to easily be guessed?

Absolutely not. It's virtually impossible for anyone to guess the presence of a repeated word in a seed phrase. Therefore, a seed phrase with one or two repeating words is just as robust as a seed phrase with entirely unique words. Actually, I believe the opposite is true. Preventing duplicate words would, in fact, restrict the entropy of the seed phrase, making it weaker.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Does BIP39 allow for the same words to be repeated more than twice in a seed? on: October 20, 2023, 02:58:13 PM
does BIP39 have rules that prevent the same word from being generated 3 times?

No, I don't think so. There's nothing to stop the same word occurring more than once. But having the same word three times or more in a 24-word seed phrase is highly unlikely.

The BIP39 standard doesn’t allow for any word to be repeated more than two times in a seed phrase.

I don't think that is correct. Do you have a source?

I have created more than 10 wallets this year, and I have not come across a single word repeated even twice, which is barely possible—talk more than three times.

That doesn't prove it's impossible, just improbable.
695  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Winner of lambo round 9 on freebitco..in website on: October 20, 2023, 02:32:18 PM
I assume you know that there is a choice when it comes to the prize, a Lambo or $200k in BTC, and if you decide on this first, be sure that it will take time to get your prize, and I don't even want to speculate what the price is for something like that to be delivered, and of course how much tax do you have to pay to import such a car.
Tbh, I don't think that anyone in their right mind would chose Lambo as God knows what kind of taxes you would have to pay in order to get that car to your country. After all, this lambo prize seems to me more like a good marketing stunt as it sounds better than giving xyz amount of dollars in BTC.

I'm not sure, but I think TheQuin once mentioned that no one has opted for a Lambo as a prize yet, but instead chose to receive an equivalent amount in BTC. This choice makes sense as it's much more practical.

Speaking of TheQuin,  it's kinda strange that he has been away from the forums for so long. I hope everything's alright with him.

@Kingqa980, if you're still waiting for a response to your messages, you might want to try PMing wetsuit. Even though he's not active on the forum, he should get an email notification.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ? on: October 18, 2023, 07:18:03 PM
Of course it will stop, because in a marriage relationship there must be a commitment that must be mutually agreed upon, there are no lies to cover up, so if one partner can accept his partner gambling then he will be lucky but don't gamble carelessly. This means, don't gamble too much so that your partner doesn't experience disappointment. Take advantage of the opportunity to get permission from your partner by gambling well and correctly, by placing small bets and just for entertainment in your free time, because the most important thing is your partner's happiness.
It is very important for us to try and keep our gambling lifestyle oru habit to ourselves. It is unprofessional for us to allow our family or wife to find out that we have this gambling lifestyle which can be very discouraging to them especially if we are spending too much money and always complaining that we don't have money with us. Women always see through things and the way they interpret things can be very different from the males entirely. Gambling need to be secretive and we need to make sure that people we value a lot do not have knowledge about our gambling lifestyle.
Good luck hiding your gambling habit from future wife. She is your wife not coworker that will never see what you are doing at home in leisure time.

That's right! It's not that you gotta hide what you're into from who you're with.  More like, be open and take responsibility for those things youre into and  whoever you end up marrying, that's a person you'll share your whole life with.  So you gotta have real talks about your hobbies and stuff how they'll maybe affect your relationship.

I have won the lambo round 9 on freebitcoin website <...>

How do you know that you've won? Typically, you should receive an email from them explaining how to claim the prize.
Congratulations on the win if it's indeed true!

Oh boy, that's quite the loaded question! If the person I end up marrying ever asks me to give up gambling completely, they better have some truly amazing ideas lined up to fill that void.
A strong marriage is built on compromise, am I right?

If not it might just be easier to go find a new spouse!  Tongue

Is that for real? Where did you get that info? Or are you just kidding?
He is referring to a reply Rollbit left earlier today on one of the Cointelegraph's tweets. I am not sure wether this is Rollbit's joke or for real  Cheesy

https://twitter.com/rollbitcom/status/1713919556568113503
Haha right I was referring to Rollbit's reply seen on X.com - kind of skeptical of the name but I know the name is obviously the same as Cointelegraph mass media.
<...>

LOL! I see... Maybe it's just a joke on Rollbit's part after all. No one is stupid enough to use the Cointelegraph name if they wanted to profit from inside information. Besides, the exit price is too perfect, no one could have predicted it so well.

But again, anything is possible.
