681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is at bottom or we will see movement downward ? on: August 25, 2018, 09:06:08 AM
i think it is too soon to tell. ETH has still a lot of room to drop and go down to $10 even but it is currently slowly dropping so we may not see a big dump for a while at least.
but in any case one thing is for sure. you shouldn't trust what people say specially for coins like this that they are bag holding. they have been saying "it is the bottom" about every price that ETH has seen from January and each time they say it, ETH drops another 100 bucks.
682  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Rejects 9 Bitcoin ETF Applications Whats Next Target of bitcoin? - 23 Aug18 on: August 25, 2018, 08:48:35 AM
(and due to liquidity, easily bought and sold in massive amounts, compared to buying actual Bitcoin in the US which is tricky for a lot of big money people).

how can ETF be more liquid than the actual bitcoin market?
i don't quite understand how ETF works but reading the resources they say there is only 5 shares in an ETF and each share will represent 25BTC. so the total amount of it is 125BTC only!
125BTC is the volume of 1 hour on bitstamp and during wilder moves it is the volume of 5 minutes! for example today total volume  was 1400BTC so far.

even if i am misunderstanding the limit (25BTC) and if it is higher, it doesn't make much of a difference. ETF is still limited to a fixed cap while the real market is only limited by the number of people trading there which can be a lot bigger.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Started Cryptocurrency In 2016...You Should Be Glad. on: August 25, 2018, 08:42:21 AM
you should be glad if you start with bitcoin in 2016, 2017, ... 2020 and possibly a couple of more years after that because bitcoin is still in its very first stages of adoption and it will continue to be like this until the mass adoption stage. and by then (which will probably be somewhere in 5 to 10 years from now) the price will have shoot up to the moon and will be stable there. and by then you will only benefit from the currency aspect of bitcoin to the profit anymore because it will be at $1 million+ and there won't be big rises anymore.
684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are old coins no more profitable on: August 25, 2018, 08:30:27 AM
so far what i see in the altcoin market is that a bunch of altcoins are created, then they are pumped and become big. they take the market by the storm and even go to top ranking positions. then after a while they become old and over pumped so everyone eventually leaves them and moves to the new set of altcoins that are coming to take the market by the storm and do the same thing these old coins did a while back.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal fund for ICO on: August 24, 2018, 09:38:08 AM
first of all that is idiotic to accept Paypal payments because of the charge back option of it. and that only proves that these ICOs are getting desperate for raising funds since nobody is giving them anymore, that they are taking these risks for the possibility of a smaller amount of higher profit.

secondly it is against PayPal ToS to use it for anything that is related to digital currencies. you can read it in their Terms of Services. and they can close the accounts of both receiver and sender if they find out which they most probably will if the ICO raises a considerable amount through Paypal to raise red flags.
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: How far is the bottom for Bitcoin ? When will it peak again? on: August 24, 2018, 09:32:31 AM
the facts that we have so far all say one thing and that is: $6000 is the bottom for bitcoin.

we have had situations like this before when price hits the bottom and everyone is confused about when it is going to go up or whether it can go lower. in bitcoin all these doubts are normal but the history shows that price rises start from these doubtable moments.
687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And yet still, I RISE!!! (Bitcoin Price rises despite ETF denials) on: August 24, 2018, 09:22:48 AM
what people have forgotten in the past couple of months is that ETF is a completely useless and irrelevant thing that can be added to this ecosystem. and it doesn't really do anything for bitcoin itself and eventually when it is added they will all realize that nothing has changed.
in a way it is similar to the Futures hype where people were thinking the mass adoption boom is going to happen if Futures start but never did.
in a couple of months when ETF is far behind us everyone will realize again that we never needed it.
688  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit a trillion dollar marketcap in the future? on: August 24, 2018, 09:03:28 AM
we are already on the rise. it doesn't look like it at this point because you the price shooting up every couple of days but this is the ground floor of the rises to come. and the prices like $50k are nothing for bitcoin really. by the end of this year we should be above $12k because that is the value of bitcoin by then and by the end of 2019 value of bitcoin is going to be at least $35k and these are only the bottom prices that bitcoin should hit. realistically speaking price is always higher than these minimums.
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would it be advisable for me to purchase for $ 8,500? on: August 23, 2018, 09:19:38 AM
only Bitcoin.

the obvious reason is that bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency with real potential of rise and a bright future while the altcoins are highly risky.

but the more important reason is that whenever someone like you is new to this market they must stay away from riskier alternatives and stick to the original/main cryptocurrency which is bitcoin.
690  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis: BTCUSD Capped by Strong Resistance on: August 23, 2018, 08:59:26 AM
the exact opposite is true. meaning bitcoin is supported by a very strong buy support. and that buy support is placed at $6000 which is the reason for keeping the price up so far even though a lot of dumps have been happening.
the only reason why we have not yet seen a big rise yet is that people are greedy and ware waiting for the ETF rejection to buy cheaper bitcoins and then start the rise.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ETF REJECTION on: August 23, 2018, 08:47:15 AM
The proverbial red herring rejection today will undoubtedly send the market into a downward spiral, a great shorting opportunity.

LOL!
considering market moves very fast and the reaction to the news is nearly instant you can say that this is already old news and looking at the price it did NOT make a move at all as a reaction to this news.

in fact many analysts believe that people stopped giving a shit about ETF Wink
692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again, bitcoin investors hold their breath for an ETF approval on: August 23, 2018, 08:34:36 AM
i am wondering who these "bitcoin investors" are that have been holding their breath for ETF approval? the news sites these days seem to be exaggerating a lot of stuff about what has been going on in the market. and at least this last couple of days it was so obvious that nobody is even bothering with the ETF anymore.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Fiat on: August 23, 2018, 08:23:30 AM
it is impossible to answer your Poll because they options are the same. for instance my choice is "No" because bitcoin is not supposed to replace fiat and also "They can coexist" because not replacing means they both exist alongside and both work, fiat as the centralized currency that everyone knows and bitcoin as that additional option for decentralization.
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe this is the highest bottom ? on: August 22, 2018, 09:23:04 AM
in a way you are correct but by a mistake. you meant to say "lowest bottom" but you said "highest bottom" and it is highest bottom because as you can already see altcoins are still going down and selling new lower lows as they get dumped.
as a result we will see lower bottoms too, of course you can not  call it the "bottom" because it is on the way down.
695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will ETFs help to contain Bitcoin price rises? on: August 22, 2018, 09:09:09 AM
Everybody seems to think that the granting of ETF licences will push up the price of Bitcoin.
it can increase the price not because of the reasons they say but only because it is considered a good news and it is hyped up so the market in a way is waiting for it and then decide based on its result.
something like Futures last year where suddenly people got too excited and went on a buying frenzy.

Quote
Speculative methods that are not based on the available supply.
interesting theory, i just have a question. why do you think these are not based on available supply? aren't papers, contracts... supposed to be backed by real bitcoins? which means the company issuing these contracts have already locked some coins (supply) away that is not allowed to sell contracts.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin prices spiked to $ 6,900 when BitMEX turned offline. on: August 22, 2018, 08:56:34 AM
There was a tweet that says that Bitfinex did something fishy and took advantage of BitMEX's downtime. No comment from me for now. Couldn't confirm if the tweet is legit as Bitfinexed's Twitter is private. Thoughts?

Bitfinexed twitter seems more like a trolling tweeter to me to be honest. so my first thought is that the person behind it just tried taking advantage of a situation and spread some trolling.

however it is possible that something was going on in the background although if you look at other exchanges they were also having the same reaction. and rises like this is not really a big deal it was a small 6% rise and it may have happened because price broke above $6.5k which bots were watching and considering as a "resistance"!!
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is worth more use of gold? on: August 22, 2018, 08:43:07 AM
bitcoin and gold should not even be compared to each other because they are two different things, comparing them is comparing apples and oranges. bitcoin is a decentralized and global currency while gold is just a metal that has a high value and despite being used as a currency once it is not a good one at it and it is  not global because of its physical form.
698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which type of tokens will occupy the future of the crypto world? on: August 21, 2018, 09:39:06 AM
nobody can possibly know it.
each year they come up with a new form of altcoins that can get hyped up a lot and make them a lot of money and then they keep creating lots of it making millions of dollars  from newbies and then that method becomes obvious so the coins which were using it die.

all this time bitcoin will remain strong and as they call it: the king because it has real usages.
699  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10million in 2023 possible? on: August 21, 2018, 09:27:13 AM
it is true that each time we have had a halving in the past, price has gone up a lot before and after it but you should know that the reason for those rises weren't having on its own.
halving is just affecting the supply not the demand. all this time price has been rising because the demand has been rising and when halving happens the effect of increased demand becomes more palpable so is the rise.
700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 factors that may have a crucial impact on Bitcoin in 2018-2019 on: August 21, 2018, 09:10:19 AM
the biggest thing to look forward to is Lightning Network and its adoption. we only need it to start being used seriously before we can see the next big price surge because of it happens.
for example as soon as we see the first exchange implements the first LN node and start allowing traders to use it then we will see a lot of merchants and other businesses follow and that will bring a lot of attention to bitcoin and can be the start of the rise towards $1 million
